This week we are joined by special guests Abovan who is here to talk to us about AIE in FFXIV. Welcome! Ok, we'll be digging into FFXIV shortly, but first, let's cover this week's news... AIE News Community Mandatory Fun Nights Where the fun is mandatory but the attendance is not. A couple of games have moved days so make sure you double check when each game is running MFN. NOMADS AIE in The Division 2. The Clan is doing well and having a lot of fun in the game. We're rank 17 (out of 30) with 27 members total. The first post-launch content update was released this past Friday and unlocks the new World Tier 5 that features the latest Stronghold: Tidal Basin. Also, the first "Apparel Event" titled "Invasion" is running until May 2nd. During this time you can earn up to 30 apparel items. Should you earn them all during the event you'll be awarded a special apparel item: The Black Tusk uniform. These 30 items will be available in the usual apparel caches and store after the event, but you can only earn the special Black Tusk uniform during the event. Apparel items include clothing, weapon skins, and emotes. The first raid, an 8 player activity, will go live on April 25th, later this month and our clan members are eagerly awaiting it. Get in and gear up now. Ask about the game in AIE Discord's #thedivision2 text channel. Receiving an invite is as simple as asking for one there for your UPlay ID. You can also look up the clan, "AIE Nomads", and request an invite that way. WoW The AIE Alliance guild is growing with 119 characters currently. Reminder, you just need to submit an application in Umami, leave the Faction as Horde and the officers will correct it when reviewing the application. Don't worry about the level either, just race/class and name and you're set. We are still having issue with gmail accounts, so check the LFO channel for acceptance, as the officers will announce when they've accepted those applications. In game news, the Artifact Knowledge ramp up will continue for the next 4 weeks to make sure everyone is ready for the 8.2 content. A number of players have reached level 50 on their necklace and currently you do not get anything for completing WQ's that award just azerite. Patch 8.2 is soon to be on the PTR (encrypted currently) and several outlets have had interviews with Ion Hazzikostas on what's to come, mostly around systems, flying and very little on content spoilers. WoWHead and MMO-Champion both have good write-ups and links to the originals, though, be warned,

Thank you to everyone that participated and made the Summer of Love a wonderful AIE event. If you missed some of the events, here are a few videos we found taken by our wonderful guildies. FFXIV - By Ryooshi - https://youtu.be/RiqEmSWGM5Q (Rememberance Day) WoW - By Joey Image - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/164656428 (Running of the Beef) Also for a ton of screenshots, check out the #AIEGuild hashtag on Twitter https://twitter.com/hashtag/AIEGuild WoW There was a live Q&A with Ion Hazzikostas (no spoilers) over general WoW topics and some 7.3 specific information. It looks like Legion is becoming more alt friendly and some catch up mechanisms are in place for those just hitting 110. The time gate for the 3rd relic slot will automatically be removed in 7.3. In addition, players will not have to do the Broken Shore questline to unlock Concordance of the Legionfall and the other new traits. Artifact Knowledge is also getting changes and will be global across all player. The week of the patch, all players will be Artifact Knowledge 41. There are new missions, equipment and chests on Argus that can shoot Champions all the way to item level 900. Reusable Augment Runes coming from Exalted Army of the Light, the Lightforged Augment Rune. http://www.wowhead.com/news=269167/liveblog-of-the-q-a-with-ion-hazzikostas SWTOR SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 205: To Merge Or Not To Merge http://www.newoverlords.com/swtor-escape-pod-cast-205-to-merge-or-not-to-merge/ This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-205 talk about the current server merge discussion, pros and cons, ways to merge, alternatives, and our views. Also the Mandatory Fun Night, on Tuesday, will be on the Republic side this week. FFXIV Moonfire Fair event begins this Tuesday! http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/2017/Moonfire_Faire/ The quest begins in the Limsa upper decks and you can get a full seasonal outfit and some housing items while the event is live. STO Just a quick update from Grebiss on the forums http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57452-status-of-the-fleet/ We have completed the required work to allow us to start the Shipyard Tier IV upgrades. This will unlock many more fleet ships for everyone to purchase. And once we complete the shipyards, I believe we will be able to upgrade the starbase to tier IV as well. I may hold on the Starbase tier IV to keep resources flowing into fleet ship consumables, so everyone can buy their desired fleet ships. The Research Lab is also making big progress and one of the two branches is nearing completion as well with the other branch over halfway through tier 3. Podcast Audio Raw Video http://youtu.be/pJ6URqeTp-E Open Welcome to episode #267 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. Greetings, Gamers, This is Mew(And hopefully you aren't neglecting your alts): To my left is Tetsemi (spreadsheets in Space, now coming to SWTOR) and to my right is Mkallah (Hey, guys, there is a lovely carrot cake in the guild kitchen). This week we are joined by special guests Abovan and Durus who is here to talk to us about AIE in Final Fantasy XIV (14 for us non-Romans!) Welcome! Ok, we'll be digging into FFXIV shortly, but first, let's cover this week's news... AIE News Imperium Ludi Are you interested in Star Citizen or curious about what's going on in the game as it develops? Durus, on the forums, has created an AIE group in the game for those interested. Check out the forum thread (http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/51609-star-citizen/page-5) for more information about joining the guild in game. WoW Did you run with COOP and show the Alliance on Earthen Ring some love? See if you made it into Malefic's video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=tsR_2h2o7MU) during the event. Did you miss the event or are unsure what COOP is? Take a look and talk about it on the forum thread (http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57373-coop-january-2017-edition/) Big thanks to Grimcow for putting this run together. And speaking of community run events, Toxxia ran a Transmog Swap meet this afternoon in guild chat, the event started at 3 pm Server time. Did you get a piece of armor or a weapon that you were looking for? Let us know in the forum thread (http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57381-transmog-swap-meet-sunday-jan-22-3pm/) Patch 7.1.5 dropped in between podcasts as well as the Nighthold raid opening up a week later. Are you enjoying the built in group finder for World Quests? Did you supply all your alts with Artifact Knowledge tomes? Did you punch Guld'an in the face? Let us know via e-mail or twitter and we'll go over the responses during the next podcast! And speaking of patches, Blizzard continues to keep up with the content push, dropping patch 7.2 on the PTR. This patch brings another round of UI element fixes, a new raid, a pet dungeon scenario, and too many more things to mention. A good write-up on the 7.2 patch is found over on WoWHead (http://www.wowhead.com/news=259395/patch-7-2-ptr-starts-today-and-patch-recap) Patch 7.1.5 also brought in micro-holidays, the first of which is active now through Tuesday the 24th. Call of the Scarab is a micro-holiday celebrating the opening the gates of Ahn'Qiraj (On Caraj) during the classic World of Warcraft time period. Run AQ20 and AQ40 to get commendations to help your side (the Horde) win the event which will be represented by a Horde banner flying over the raids until the holiday comes around next year. There are also repeatable meat turn-ins and if you're not yet exalted with Cenarian Circle you can scour Silithis for cultists and summon elemental lords to raise your reputation. WoWHead has a good write-up (http://www.wowhead.com/news=259399/call-of-the-scarab-micro-holiday-guide-january-21st-23rd) on the holiday SWTOR Not much from the official SWTOR news side of things so Max and Sema dig into a couple topics they've had on the back burner regarding Conquest and how to do it as well as the quality of life features in SWTOR compared to other MMO's as well as features they'd like to see borrowed from those other MMO's. SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 177: How to Conquest (http://www.newoverlords.com/swtor-escape-pod-cast-177-how-to-conquest/) This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-177 revive an older topic that's...

On this episode of The AIE Podcast... Mewkow: Patches galore Tetsemi: Tuesdays are for going to Mordor Mkallah: We have Captain Cyby's STO update Mewkow: What happened in 2016! Tetsemi: What we are doing in 2017! All that and more coming up right now... Podcast Audio Raw Video http://youtu.be/dj40Wgl2OSI Open Welcome to episode #266 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. This is Mkallah: To my left is Mewkow - (catch phrase here) and to my right is Tetsemi (Say something about spreadsheets, Tet). This week we are flying sans guest as we start off a new year with a little bit of recapping last year and talk about what we've been doing on holiday break. Welcome chat room! We are our own guests tonight, chatting about AIE in 2016 and what we are looking forward to in 2017. We will be doing that shortly, but first- the news! AIE News NOMADS Just a reminder that the Nomads' Minecraft server has been shut down, but Stigg has made the world files available to anyone who wants them, be warned, it's a large (5.8 G) download. Link can be accessed in the forum post in the Nomads section of the forums - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57344-shutting-down-the-nomads-minecraft-server/ WoW Are you ready for some football, I mean Nighthold? Patch 7.1.5 drops on Tuesday, make sure you have any important world quests completed before patch day as world quests will be changing then. The Brawler's guild is returning, Mists of Pandaria dungeons added to the Timewalking event, micro holidays are being introduced (check your in game calendar for dates), and a large number of class changes (especially to secondary stats). A link to the details is in the show notes https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20457780/patch-7-1-5-arrives-on-january-10 Another big change, especially for those people with Altitis that have been feeling a bit left out this expansion cycle, is the ability to catch up on Artifact Knowledge. If you have a character at AK 25, you will be able to purchase tomes for order hall resources that allow your alts to catch up to AK 20. A good write-up on the process is available over on WoWHead - http://www.wowhead.com/artifact-knowledge-guide - many thanks to Perculia for her hard work on writing and keeping this guide up to date with the changes. Also, this gives everyone that's doing progression raiding, about a week to get adjusted to the new changes in their classes as the Nighthold raid opens on January 17th, just one week after the 7.1.5 patch drops. Want to hangout with a bunch of guildies and give the Alliance leader's some heartburn? Join Grimcow on January 15th for a return of C.O.O.P. Details can be found in the forums - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57373-coop-january-2017-edition/ SWTOR With the passing of Carrie Fisher, many groups and guilds held an in game vigil at House Organa in game. MassivelyOP captured some screenshots of the event - http://massivelyop.com/2016/12/27/star-wars-the-old-republic-players-pay-tribute-to-carrie-fisher/ and the AIE Guild participated as well. And with the new year comes a new episode of the Escape Pod Cast, SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 176: 2017 Predictions. This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-176 kick off 2017 with wishes and predictions for the year from us and the rest of the SWTOR community. http://www.newoverlords.com/swtor-escape-pod-cast-176-2017-predictions/ This weeks Mandatory Fun Night will be held on the Republic Side and I've heard rumors that there will be a party on the guild ship to unlock a new room. Make sure you check the forums and the AIE Discord #swtor channel for more information! FFXIV Are you a casual FFXIV player but looking to upgrade your gear? Thanks to Natsume Meiken in AIE Discord's #ffxiv channel, who linked to a Reddit post on how to gear as a casual player - https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/5kuyag/34_an_updated_casuals_guide_to_gearing_up_from/
