Healthcare was the standout sector, with CSL up 2.0%, RMD rising 1.3% and SIG adding 1.1%. Technology stocks also found support, with solid gains in WTC and XRO, both up 7.3% and 1.8% respectively, while REA and CAR also finished higher.Resources were mixed, with BHP down 0.8%, while FMG rebounded 0.9% from Friday's losses. The gold sector was in focus after GMD launched a rival bid for VAU, joining RRL in the takeover battle. Despite the M&A activity, NST fell 1.8% and EVN eased 1.6%. Lithium stocks were also slightly weaker, with PLS down 1.7% and LTR falling 2.9%.In the oil and gas sector, despite little movement in crude oil futures, positive broker commentary helped WDS rise 0.8% and STO gain 1.4%. Coal stocks drifted lower, while uranium stocks were little changed. In corporate news, it was all about the new VAU bid from GMD. We also saw a solid quarterly from GGP, while WOR firmed 0.2% after securing a new consultancy agreement. In the tech space, IFT edged 1.4% higher following an independent valuation of its holding in CDC.There was nothing of note on the economic front today.Asian markets mixed, Nikkei 225 down 0.5%, HK up 1%, China up 0.2%. I Verbi Ausiliari: Essere e Avere 1. Andare si usa in tantissime espressioni quotidiane: "andare a piedi", "andare in macchina", "andare al lavoro", "andare a scuola". E poi c'è la classica domanda italiana: "Come va?". Una conversazione tipica al bar in Italia inizia praticamente sempre così! 4.

UnMind: Zen Moments With Great Cloud

Welcome, once again, to my UnMind podcast, also published on Substack, and as my Dharma Byte in the newsletter of the Silent Thunder Order (visit www.STOrder.org — STO). Please let me know if there is a subject you would like to hear about in a future segment. In STO, we are pioneering a creative, collaborative approach to establishing true Zen community (Skt. sangha) in the USA. This haiku poem, in the traditional 5,7,5-syllable format, I composed some years ago. Memorial day this year happened to coincide with the 51st anniversary of wedding my long-suffering wife, the love of my life, a living bodhisattva of compassion. The bouquet I presented her at our breakfast date had a few buds that had not yet blossomed, until this morning. Recalling my mother often saying, "Don't bring me dead flowers!" I realized that cut flowers are, indeed, if not dead already, then at least dying, as we trim them and put them in a vase, prolonging the decaying process with water and flower food. I revised the haiku to read: Flowers blossom allunaware of their beauty —though doomed to failure Repositioning "all" so that it modifies both "flowers" and "unaware" depending on the reader's interpretation, the last line reflects my mother's cold-eyed insight that cut flowers are no longer living, and that the seeds they produce through pollination have the chance of a snowball in hell of germinating. This brings up another common trope of modernity, the concept of "dichotomies." Giving dying flowers to celebrate the living is a kind of dichotomy, or contradiction. My root teacher, Matsuoka-roshi, was prone to say, "There is no dichotomy in Zen!" I think he was implying that any dichotomy is in the eye — or mind, or both — of the beholder. Suffering from obsessive curiosity as to all things verbal, I looked up the term in the New Oxford American Dictionary bundled with my MacBook Pro: di•chot•o•mynoun (plural dichotomies) [usually in singular] a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different: a rigid dichotomy between science and mysticism. • Botany repeated branching into two equal parts. One of the most common dichotomies — speaking of a "rigid dichotomy between science and mysticism." and which has become a trope in the USA, and perhaps all over the world — is the expression, "There are two kinds of people in the world..." followed by the speaker's perspective on some defining difference between their worldview and that of others. My rather circular version is "There are two kinds of people in this world: those who believe there are two kinds of people in this world, and those who don't." But seriously, folks... It occurs to me that one of the many such distinctions that do make a difference — particularly on the social level, and with ramifications in the natural sphere — is of religious viewpoints. The "first kind of people in the world" believe that there is a loving creator God watching over humankind — His children made in His image — protecting us from the worst consequences of our actions, or at least assuring us that they must be in some way the manifestation of His will. A current example is that of climate change. If our most dystopian fears come to pass, anything coming to pass on such a grand scale must be part of God's plan, rather than an unintended consequence of our collective action, mustn't it? Wouldn't it be ironic if the human race were to wipe itself out, based on a mistaken belief that our reckless stewardship of the planet is under the control of a loving God, who would surely not allow such a thing to happen. It begs the existential question: What if we are wrong? We may be forgiven for our resistance to elevating such a belief to the lofty level of "thought," which is held in such high esteem in Western philosophy. "Religion" as such was supposedly replaced by "Reason" following the Enlightenment, as deserving of our highest reverence. In its most extreme manifestation, this worldview — shared by the "second kind of people in the world" — devolves to "secular reductionism," widely reviled by theistic creationists as reducing the existence of humanity to some kind of evolutionary fluke. The second kind subdivide into two camps as well — those who are agnostic on the concept of the existence of God as a being, though it is unclear whether or when, and under what circumstances, they suppose they might find an answer to the question — and those who take the contrarian position, defaulting to atheism, which some mock as the strongest form of theism, by the theory of opposites. You can't have atheism without theism. A few atheists enjoy a degree of fame and fortune from their efforts railing against the popular tide of conventional belief systems. Buddha knew that his teaching would be swimming upstream against the prevailing tide of contemporaneous beliefs, such as that of the atman, or soul, of Hinduism. However, he apparently did not make a public case of it by challenging the political hierarchy of the time, which was based on Hinduism, and in which he enjoyed a privileged position as a prominent member of the second highest caste. Instead, he shared his views with his followers for reasons of personal salvation. Buddhism promised to reform society by offering an alternative to the status quo, which he interpreted as motivated primarily by self-striving. His doctrine began with challenging the belief in the existence of the self, not in that of God, or gods. If this manifestation of two contrary and opposed worldviews of believers and nonbelievers — one requiring hard evidence, the other only faith — stopped at the boundary between the personal and social spheres, its unintended consequences would be relatively trivial, in their impact on the world we live in. But when the claim is made that the ways of the world, including the machinations of mankind, reflect the will of God — in particular those people who are likeminded, and part of our political cohort — the worst impulses and basest motives of men are enabled in His name, not ours. We are now witness to an international situation in which the most powerful men in the world are child killers and / or child molesters; take your pick. It is impossible to imagine anything more selfish than that. Their family, friends and supporters are implicated to a degree proportional to their proximity to the inner circles of power. Six degrees of non-separation. That they do not, or cannot, see this fact, and own up to it, constitutes an undeniable manifestation of the root of the trouble that Buddha identified as "ignorance." According to his model of the Twelvefold Chain of Interdependent Co-arising, everything arises out of a kind of universal ignorance, including most centrally for humans, the conviction that we are independent, existent entities — i.e. the constructed self. This ignorance is, originally, essentially innocent: a case of simply not-knowing. But when this sense of self is taken to be real, it intervenes in our judgment calls in navigating the world, leading us to commit all kinds of actions in defense of it. Willful ignorance, that is. But again: What if we are wrong? What if what we take to be our persona, our very own self — stemming from the very convincing assembly of the body-mind complex: the six senses, five aggregates, DNA, et cetera, implying a fundamental bifurcation into "self" and "other" — is a kind of categorical error, a rudimentary, ingrained confusion? The sixth ancestor in China, Master Huineng, was famous for saying, "Show me your face before your father and mother were born!" or words to that effect. What if what we are now — channeling through this biological body — is precisely what we were, before this body was born? What if we will be exactly the same, after this body dies? My understanding of one Buddhist teaching is that desire — the primordial desire for existence itself — precedes birth, and indeed, is the impulse that logically leads to birth. However, to assume that this idea necessarily implies the existence of a self or soul, an entity of some sort that precedes birth, a basic tenet of Hinduism's doctrine of reincarnation, namely the atman; or that the soul comes into existence with the advent of birth in this lifetime, which I take to be a fundamental doctrine of Christianity; is to impute to Buddha's teaching the very idea that he refuted with his doctrine of anatman: he found no evidence of such a being in his transformational spiritual awakening. In the Heart of Great Wisdom Sutra chanted in Zen centers and monasteries around the world on a frequent basis, the implication is that in Zen meditation, we progress through the Five Aggregates of sentient existence until arriving at "consciousness only," our awareness shifts to "no consciousness also." Or as Buddha is said to have taught, a "turning about in the inmost consciousness," Master Dogen's "backward step" of "turning the light around to shine on the self." This "no consciousness" is not the absence of consciousness, but the necessary complement to consciousness itself – the resolution of the apparent dichotomy. You cannot have consciousness without "no consciousness." You cannot have impermanence without permanence. You cannot have being without nonbeing, as the great Ch'an poem illustrates: Emptiness here; emptiness there —But the infinite universe stands always before your eyesInfinitely large; infinitely small — no differenceFor definitions have vanished, and no boundaries are seenSo, too, with Being and Non-being According to this principle of no dichotomy in Zen, then, even the existential question resolves itself into a complementarity. There is no being without non-being. The dichotomy exists only in our interpretation. Paraphrasing Krishnamurti, don't "Think on these things"; Sit with these things.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The ASX 200 fell another 60 points to 8,749, down 0.7%. Once again, it was resources that bore the brunt of the selling, with the gold price testing $4,000 and heading below it, and gold miners slipping. NST down 3.3%, EVN down 3.8%, with the iron ore miners also under pressure today. RIO off 2.3%, FMG down 1.6%. Lithium stocks also fell away, with PLS down 5.0% and LTR also falling 7.4%. Copper stocks were very much on the nose, following falls in resource and commodity prices overseas. SFR down 3.6%. Meanwhile, oil and gas stocks were also easier as the oil price slipped another 1.7% in Asian trade, with WDS down 2.9% and STO down 2.8%. Not much happened in the uranium sector, with PDN slightly firmer on some results from Canada. The banks also struggled today, with CBA holding up better than the other three, still down 1.3%, while NAB was the worst of the bunch, down 3.4% following JDO's results and the stock being hammered 40.4%. The theory is that NAB is the most exposed to the business sector. The Big Bank Basket fell 1.3%. Other financials were less affected, with the insurers once again pushing higher. QBE up 1.3% and MPL up 2.7%. Industrials were a bright spot today across the board, with WES pushing up 2.5%, ALL up 2.4%, and retail stocks performing better after the jobs numbers released today. This points to an improving economic backdrop. We also saw WOW and COL continue to receive buying as defensive plays. TLS rose 0.6%.The REIT sector also did well today, with GMG up 1.1% and CHC up 1.0%. Healthcare was a standout sector as CSL continued to power ahead, up 2.3% and RMD also had a good day out, up 4.6%, with SIG performing well too. Once again, though, we saw losses in the technology sector, with XRO down another 3.5% and WTC giving back some of its gains from yesterday, falling X%, with the All Tech Index unchanged at CPU rose 0.5%In corporate news, A2M rose after declaring a special $300 million dividend. TEA also upgraded its earnings growth forecast, and THL received a fresh offer from a mystery suitor valuing the company at between NZ$3.30 and NZ$3.40 a share. JDO 40.4% smashed on higher provisions and slowdown. WOR down 9.7% on a second profit warning. EIQ soared 30.2% on an investment from PME.On the economic front, the headline unemployment rate fell to 4.4% in May, with employment rising by 40,000 and the number of unemployed people falling by 18,000. Most of the jobs growth, however, came from part-time employment, with only 5,000 new full-time jobs created.Nikkei 225 up 4.5%, South Korea up 7.0%, HK down 1.3% and Shanghai up 1.7%.US futures mixed, Nasdaq up 600 plus – Dow Jones up 65Marcus Today – Daily Market InsightsMarcus Today provides clear, practical commentary for self-directed investors – covering markets, portfolios, education, and decision-making without the noise. If you'd like to go further:Start a free 14-day trial of Marcus Today http://bit.ly/mt-trial-podcastJoin Marcus Today Use code MTPODCAST for 10% off http://bit.ly/mt-join-podcast-offerMT20 – Managed ETF Portfolio A professionally managed portfolio run by Marcus Padley and the team, using ASX-listed ETFs with active market timing. http://bit.ly/mt20-podcastPrinciples – How We Think About Investing A short video series on timing, behaviour, and decision-making. 3. Quanto Costa? 17. A Che Ora Apre / Chiude?

EPISODE DESCRIPTION I sat down with Mamadou Kwidjim Toure, co-founder of U-Tribe and GIFT (Gold International Fungible Token), to explore one of the most ambitious real-world asset projects I've come across. Mamadou spent decades in banking and early-stage investing across Africa , including in the first GSM projects and mobile payments before M-Pesa , and he turned that experience into a mission: giving anyone on earth access to physical, one-to-one backed gold from as little as 15 cents. We talk about why central banks are quietly buying more physical gold than at any point in the past 40 years, why the gold ETF market is dangerously over-encumbered, and how GIFT's MiCA-regulated token could become the financial safety net for 2.5 billion people across 35 countries. Mamadou also walks me through their quantum-enhanced wallet, their Ubuntu Academy for financial and digital literacy, and their upcoming STO launching in July. This one is packed with insight on the real shift happening in global finance right now. DISCLAIMERNothing mentioned in this podcast is investment advice and please do your own research. Cimabue non ci riesce, ma ci riesce lui, ci riesce Giotto....- The full transcript of this Episode (and excercises for many of the grammar episodes) is available via "Luisa's learn Italian Premium", Premium is no subscription and does not incur any recurring fees. 1.

We drop it into three celebration-ready sentences:   – "Idę na ślub." (I'm going to a wedding.) – "To będzie piękny ślub." (It's going to be a beautiful wedding.) – "Sto lat dla nowożeńców!" (One hundred years for the newlyweds)   Repeat-along track included—perfect while you pick your outfit or practice your toast.   Challenge: Tell us in the comments about the last Polish wedding you attended—or write "Idę na ślub!" if you have one coming up.   Timestamps & Descriptions 0:00 Welcome & QR Code 0:45 "Ślub" - The Polish Word for Wedding 1:30 Wedding Memories & Traditions 2:30 Planning & Organization 3:30 Polish Wedding Drinks & Toast 4:30 Music & Entertainment 5:30 Love & Celebration 6:30 Wedding Logistics & Tech 7:30 The Perfect Toast 8:30 Family & Generations 9:30 Wedding Shopping & Expenses 10:30 Final Tips & Suggestions 11:30 Your Turn to Practice Table     English Polish Pronunciation Guide wedding ślub shloop marriage małżeństwo maw-zhehn-stvo bride panna młoda panna mwo-da groom pan młody pan mwo-di newlyweds nowożeńcy no-vo-zhehn-tsi wedding party wesele ve-se-le toast toast tohst one hundred years sto lat stoh laht I love you kocham cię koh-hahm chyeh beautiful piękny pyenk-ni invitation zaproszenie za-pro-sheh-nyeh church kościół kohsh-choo-w rings obrączki o-bronch-ki bouquet bukiet boo-kyet honeymoon podróż poślubna poh-droosh posh-loob-na family rodzina roh-jee-na celebration celebracja tse-le-bra-tsya dance taniec tah-nyets music muzyka moo-zi-ka vodka wódka voo-dka whiskey whisky wee-ski band zespół ze-spoo-w memory pamięć pah-myench organize zorganizować zor-gah-nee-zoh-vahch website strona stroh-na money pieniądze pyeh-nyon-dze home dom dohm challenge wyzwanie viz-vah-nyeh device urządzenie oo-zhon-dzeh-nyeh payment płatność pwat-nohshch product produkt pro-dukt suggestion sugestia soo-ges-tyah generation generacja ge-ne-ra-tsya dashboard kokpit / panel kohk-peet / pah-nel store sklep sklehp mission misja mee-shah perfect doskonały doh-skoh-nah-wi beautiful day piękny dzień pyenk-ni dzyen

Boats are fun! New World will officially shutdown its servers January 31, 2027. We are still there! Keep an eye on the channel in nomads for a possible farewell as the end draws near. Valheim 5 Year Celebration and Regular Update. AIE Valheim Community Server Information is pinned in the AIE Discord #Nomads channel WoW Noob Raid had a great final run of Manaforge Omega on pre-Midnight launch – clearing both Normal and Heroic! Dankinia will be taking a break until the first raid in Midnight is released, around early April. Midnight launched on 3/2, with early access for folks who prepurchased expected to begin 2/27. Lots more about Midnight from our lovely guests later in the show. Player housing. This new feature is time consuming but a great deal of fun. The creativity of our Guildies is amazing to behold! WoW Classic As Jehdai pointed out, we have our first 70 (Sethos) and light activity on the 20th Anniversary TBC launch on Dreamscythed Horde side. We have the guild available with the guild bank open and invite others to join us in Outland. In other Classic news: Reminder that there are now 3 launchers for Classic (‘Original’, ‘Anniversary’, ‘Era’) “Original” Classic is progressing with Mists of Pandaria. The guild is available on Horde side on Galakras. If I have this right, MoP classic uses the modern guild interface so we have the new interface showing 651 members. “Anniversary” Classic which is now at TBC as mentioned above. “Era” classic is a separate launcher with 3 game modes: ‘Classic Era’ which is forever frozen in the original game (pre-TBC). We were on Mankrik here but really no activity or guild. “Season of Discovery” which is where experiments were performed by the devs which some expect may lead to the anticipated “Classic Plus” many hope for. We have no real activity there currently. “Hardcore” is the 3rd game mode in the Era client and probably our 2nd most active within the classic modes. We have an Alliance side guild on Doomhowl and some activity on the Horde side of Doomhowl but no guild currently. Lars plans to return to his attempt at a “Solo Self-Found” run to 60 in Hardcore but that has been on pause for quite some time. We did have guild members make it to 60 on the hardcore server previously. Ravisant is ProffessorWC or Sethos one of the raid leaders from HoG SWTOR In Swtor this week, we are ready for Update 7.8.1, Master’s Enigma. It will bring a story piece, Galactic Seasons 10, new date nights, and the Spring Abundance Festival. The story finale is coming in the June timeframe to make room for 8.0 at the end of the year. We continue to do our MFN on Tuesday nights. Please join us. There are no gear or level requirements, but you may need to have gotten your personal ship as we do tend to travel about. If you want to read about an awesome trip to Galaxy’s Edge, with not only pics but also tips and tricks for your own visit, check out guildie Strykezone’s blog post. The Kanjiklub House https://kanjiklubhouse.com/2026/02/18/my-star-wars-adventure-to-galaxys-edge-at-disney/ ESO The guild has been working on endeavors and in game events. FFXIV This past Tuesday we got the new Variant dungeon with the newer middle level difficulty The next live letter is on March 13th at 4am PST, and they'll probably be discussing the next story patch LOTRO We had an update that brought us some nifty things. The new raid “The Folly of Nagakhêdi” (Nah-gah-KAY-dee) for tier 1 is live, tiers 2 and 3 are coming this week and next week. There is a new legendary reward track with some great rewards such as a rose-colored mûmak calf cosmetic pet. With other class changes, mainly with guardian, we also got a great change. It is now possible to start Private Encounters from inside of a Housing Neighborhood. Looking forward to seeing you in game and doing some of these awesome new instances.
