Have you ever thought about why some Christians seem to be more fruitful or spiritually productive while others are not? There are many reasons, but we will focus on one – a lack of knowledge and understanding of God's word. This ties to a lack of respect or value placed on God's word. In Mark 4 and Matthew 13, Jesus clearly explains this most important parable to understand. He describes how God's word is the seed. The soil is a person's heart. The condition of the soil, or the condition of a person's heart, determines the result. We need to realize (as the devil does) that the more strength, health, and provision we have, the more people we can reach with God's truth. After all, you can't feed the poor if you can't even pay your own bills. You can't travel to preach the Gospel if you are sick. And we can't hear God's voice if we live in a state of stress and unrest. These benefits only come from time spent in God's word. The most terrifying moment a human being could experience is to be found guilty before the Lord Jesus Christ, the Supreme Judge at the great White Throne Judgment, and then be cast into hell. Jesus makes it clear in the Bible that it is not just people who commit the act of murder who are in danger of judgment, but also those who have a murderous intent in the heart. This heart attitude begins with anger. The three forms of anger first come from a person's emotions, then progresses to the mind, and then finally it enters his heart. We all need to control our anger. Believers have the power of the Holy Spirit to do this but it's our choice whether we yield to Him or not. If we allow anger to go unchecked, it will only grow and evolve and eventually open the door to a demonic spirit, putting us in great danger. Most of history is based on eyewitness accounts. This is always the most credible and factual establishment of what took place at any given time in history. The four main proofs of the resurrection of Jesus Christ are these: 1. The empty tomb. The tomb was sealed and guarded by Roman soldiers who would lose their life if the body was stolen.  2. Envy is an intense emotion. If it's entertained in the mind, and ultimately yielded to, a demonic spirit will come in and influence a person to commit heinous acts. Envy and hatred are closely related. They carries a desire to cause harm, suffering and pain to others. We visibly see envy manifesting through people throughout our world. The person with envy wants what another has and resents them for having it. This would include desiring a person's success, possessions, relationships, position, money and the like which if not resisted, will result in anger, bitterness, hatred, violence and even murder. During my 23 Minutes in Hell, the vision that God gave me, I only thought of three people. Each person was significant. This showed me that people retain their full memory in hell, just as the rich man in Luke 16 who Jesus told us about. The first person I thought of was my wife. I knew she was up on the surface of the earth, and me far below. I would never see her again, and could not even have the satisfaction of saying goodbye. To have no finality with your loved ones is extremely sorrowful beyond what words can describe. When we share the way of salvation with people who don't know Jesus, they often respond with, ‘You're trying to shove your beliefs down my throat.' No one is forcing a belief on anyone! Sharing the way of salvation with someone is actually the most loving thing a person can do. Why is this a common response from an unbeliever? It can only be that they know they are guilty before their Creator. Their heart condemns them and they are pricked by their conscience. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. - Hosea 4:6 The Bible demonstrates that God's people were living in rebellion against Him, and God said they will be destroyed because of it. The word “destroyed” carries the meanings “cause to cease, cut off, perish, to be undone.” Their condition was serious. The prophets came to rebuke the sin of the people, and to declare God's coming judgment so they might repent. Is there an area of your life that you are ignoring? Are you rejecting God's knowledge? Throughout our lives, we will all experience some kind of uncomfortable situation. Most of us would like to have favor with God and with man. The question is, "How do we acquire it?" Some people teach that all you have to do is claim it. However, this is not the case. Jesus gave us an example of how we find Godly wisdom in Luke 2:52. It says, “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Notice Jesus grew in wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing, then favor will come after attaining it. This is the first and most important step. Scripture also indicates that a life of humility, and truthfulness, and living in a Godly manner will cause us to find favor. It's hard to believe that there are Christians, and even Biblical scholars, who still insist that the fires of hell are neither painful, nor meant for eternal torment. They have decided for themselves that the fires are intended for consumption and destruction. Revelation 21:8 says the unbelieving…and all liars…shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. The lake of fire is burning, and unbelievers will be cast into it. How could a burning lake of fire not involve pain? Why would this be stated as a threat if there was no ongoing pain and burning? In Matthew 23:33 Jesus said to the Pharisees, "How can you escape the damnation of hell?” He told us there is no escaping damnation. To say that the fires of hell are meant for consumption, and not eternal torment, is to be ignorant of the scriptures. The book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ gives us a detailed account of what to expect in the last days. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ's second coming, and His wrath being executed upon earth's inhabitants. It describes the world leader known as the Antichrist, who is possessed by Satan, and makes war against those who become Christian during the seven-year tribulation period. It details the wrath of Jesus Christ (the Lamb), and the wrath of Satan against believers, and against Israel. It also describes the wrath of God poured out in full measure.  Revelation also speaks to us of hell. A recent Barna pole shows that only 51% of all faith voters are likely to vote in November. That means 104 million faith voters are unlikely to vote this election—including 32 million regular Christian church attenders. How can a Christian be indifferent to one of the most critical elections of our lifetime? Some believers spiritualize the election and refrain from voting saying, “the gospel is more important than politics.” Guess what? Christians may lose the freedom and privilege we have to preach the gospel depending on which candidate becomes president. In Communist China, they are prohibited from teaching the Bible. In Islamic countries, they will receive the death penalty if caught preaching the gospel. Will you rise up and vote to protect our religious freedoms if nothing else?   Thousands of people have died for us to have the right to vote. We must do our part and vote for the candidate whose track record most aligns with biblical values. Going to war should always be a nation's last resort. If there is any other way, we must absolutely explore all possibilities before entering a battle. However, war sometimes comes to a nation unprovoked, and they are forced to defend their people. If this is the case, and if all solutions are exhausted or ignored by a nation's enemies, yes the Bible does support war. We should also be grateful for the men and women who have fought in wars, who have given their lives for our freedom, and for those serving today. There are three themes used by Jesus that describe hell in the New Testament. Punishment Destruction Banishment Punishment includes burning that shall not be quenched, torment and agony, extreme thirst, weeping and gnashing of teeth, being cut into pieces and more Destruction refers to damnation, perishing, death, judgment, and eternal ruination. Banishment is described as outer darkness, inability to cross over into heaven, being cast away from God's presence, and being cast into hell fire. With all these terms used by Jesus Himself, it is impossible to justify annihilation in hell...or that every person will go to heaven. The bible clearly debunks both of these false beliefs. A pre-tribulation view teaches that the Rapture of the church (both the dead and living saints) will occur before the seven-year tribulation period, or before the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel (verses 9:24–27). People will say that believing in a pre-tribulation rapture makes you a person with an “escape mentality.” They're right! We do want to escape the events to come. If people fully understood how horrendous the seven-year tribulation will be, they would want to escape it too. We see the increase in deception and lies, the wickedness, the perversion, the attack on children, the censorship of truth, and the persecution against Christians and Jews. The word Hell is mentioned 23 times in the New Testament. The words hell, pit, sheol, and hades are mentioned 132 times in the Bible. Jesus spoke of hell and destruction 46 times. Other writers of the New Testament talked of hell or everlasting destruction 10 times. People are quick to dismiss that which they disagree with. Hell is definitely one of those topics. The old adage is, “Don't discuss religion or politics.” That statement is from the pit of hell. People are dying every day and going to hell because people wont discuss the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ...and the consequences of rejecting that gift. Sadly, in large part Christians have ignored rejected, and watered down the reality of hell regardless of its mention throughout the Bible. This behavior may be widespread and common in the Church, but God still calls it sin. What happens when a person plays with sin repeatedly? They open themselves up to being demonized. Yes, even unrepentant Christians can be influenced and driven by demons to continue in sexual sin. Throughout the Bible, particularly the gospels, demon spirits are referred to as unclean spirits. You would be surprised at how many people in the church think they are safe to continue sinning because they said a prayer receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Are these people truly born again? Beware. Sin can and does cut a person's life short, and that includes Christians. The Lord is merciful, and He gives people numerous chances to repent and change but time is running out. The lack of self-control in today's society is evident all around us. When a person has no divine guidance and no meaningful purpose, they lack healthy boundaries concerning their behavior, attitudes and choices. Genesis 9:6, "From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man." God is the one who instituted capital punishment. However, there are some qualifiers, and there are some exceptions. The original reason God demanded the death penalty for certain sins was not only because they were heinous crimes, but because death is a severe deterrent to prevent others from committing them again. A clear indication that we are living in the last of the last days is the continual attack and mockery against Christianity. If we could see into the spiritual realm, we would witness a fierce battle between angels and demons over nations. We would observe the evil spirits influencing individuals to commit evil acts. God's original plan for man was to live forever in paradise, and not work by the sweat of his brow. When God created Adam and Eve, there was no sickness, disease, or lack. There was no death or destruction of any kind.  Satan, who was called Lucifer chose to rebel against God because he wanted to be like God. Pride arose in his heart, and he convinced one-third of the angels to follow him. He was, and is, extremely persuasive. The Bible calls him the “father of lies.” Any rebellion against God's commands is sin, and sin brings forth death. Death is the penalty for sin, and sin separates us from God in this present life, and for eternity. During my vision of hell, Jesus took me high above the earth. While I was coming up out of hell, we were in a whirlwind tunnel that extended far above the surface of the earth. It looked similar to a tornado, circular in motion, with a narrow funnel. It was terrifying to observe. I saw people falling into this whirlwind, one after another after another, back down into hell. They were completely helpless. I knew that these were people who had just died, who didn't know God, who had rejected His free gift of salvation. In the vision that God gave to Bill about hell, he saw prison cells in a place that was like a dungeon. There were rough-hewn, stone walls with a gates and bars.  The Bible indicates that there are actual gates at the entrance of hell. In addition, scripture states that there are bars in hell. Gates and bars would be indicative of a prison, and hell is just that. Bill and his wife Annette point us to scripture to confirm that hell is indeed a place of torment and captivity. Why is it that wicked people seem to prosper? There is nothing wrong with asking this question as long as we keep from envying them or fretting about it. Psalms 37 says, "Do not fret or envy the wicked. Unless they repent, we know they will end up in hell. We may also ask, "why do many of them live a long life while others we know die tragically?" Let's not forget that God's great mercy is for all people. Hell was prepared, not created, as some people might believe. The word “prepared" in Strong's Concordance means, “to make ready.” In Matthew 25:41 Jesus said, “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'" The word prepared used here is the same word that God used in John 14:2 where He said, "I go to prepare a place for you." The Bible calls King David a man after God's own heart. Why? What exactly did David do in God's eyes to earn that kind of title? One reason we know for certain is because David had great faith in God's Word, and stood bravely before the enemy. He also displayed humility, recognizing that his strength and victories came from God and not Himself. In addition, he didn't just obey God's Word, he had a genuine love for it. In Psalm 119 we read how David's words, "My soul breaks with longing For Your judgments at all times" and "Your testimonies also are my delight…" Would you be called a man or woman after God's own heart? Two people die every second of every day. And how many of those even believe hell is real? If one doesn't believe in it, how can they escape from it? The Bible gives us a few verses that indicate there are many going to hell, and few that will enter Heaven. We can only assume what percentage a few is. When God flooded the entire earth and saved only Noah and his family, there were only eight people found righteous. Some scholars believe that there would have been at least 1.5 billion people on the earth at that time, and yet only eight were saved.  Is it really few who will make it to heaven? In Luke 16 Jesus gave an account of a rich man in hell. In doing so He revealed much information to us about hell and a place called Paradise, which is also referred to as “Abraham's Bosom.” We know that t his story was not a parable, but an actual account of a true story for two reasons: 1. No parable has a name mentioned. This has three, Abraham, Lazarus and Moses. 2. In verses 25 and 29 Jesus indicates "Abraham said" and then continues to tell us the words Abraham spoke. Jesus is quoting Abraham. If it were just a parable, then Jesus would have been lying to share words that Abraham had said. Since Jesus is no liar we can be sure He described an actual incident.
