Instead, he argued the case should have been resolved by declaring that only U.S. citizens are included in “the people” protected by the Constitution. Thapar relied heavily on the Constitution's preamble and an originalist reading of history, asserting that the Founders never intended constitutional protections to apply to non-citizens, especially those unlawfully present.The majority opinion rejected that framing, pointing to Supreme Court precedent recognizing that non-citizens who develop substantial connections to the country may invoke constitutional rights. Thapar went further, suggesting that even the First and Fourth Amendments were not originally meant to protect non-citizens. The case arose from a challenge by a Guatemalan national convicted of unlawfully possessing firearms, but Thapar's reasoning reached far beyond gun regulation. His dissent echoes arguments long advanced by the Trump administration and aligns with his status as a former Trump Supreme Court shortlist candidate.From my perspective, this is a racist, xenophobic, and profoundly ahistorical take that threatens to usher in a shameful new era of American jurisprudence. It reflects either a fundamental misunderstanding of constitutional law or a wanton, careerist obsequiousness to Trumpism, delivered with the unmistakable tone of someone auditioning for a Supreme Court seat while extolling the flavor of boot. Judge Thapar is an embarrassment to the bench.Judge Thapar's theory represents a fundamental shift away from the traditional understanding of constitutional rights as inherent and inalienable—that is, rights present in every individual that the government is bound to respect, not rights it doles out at its discretion. By asserting that non-citizens, especially those here unlawfully, are not part of “the people” and therefore not entitled to constitutional protections, Thapar effectively treats these rights as government-bestowed privileges rather than limits on state power–that should frighten citizens, as well.But if rights are inherent, as our legal tradition holds, and yet non-citizens don't possess them, the implication is clear: they are being denied not because of legal status, but because of a presumed inferiority. That's not a theory of constitutional law—it's a supremacist framework gussied up in originalist language.Trump-appointed judge argues US Constitution's rights do not extend to non-citizens | Reuters3-D animator Eric Ryder filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in California federal court against Disney and director James Cameron, alleging that the 2022 film Avatar: The Way of Water copied substantial elements from his science fiction story KRZ. Ryder claims he collaborated with Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment in the late 1990s on developing a film based on KRZ, and that key features of Avatar 2—including anthropomorphic beings, a vast oceanic world, and an exploitative Earth corporation mining a moon called Europa—mirror those from his work.Ryder previously sued over the first Avatar film in 2011, but that case was dismissed when a California state court ruled Cameron had created Avatar before Ryder submitted his material. Thomas M. Ferrario is a veteran of the UFO research field, and has teamed with such greats as Ted Phillips, Jacques Vallee, and Stanton Friedman. What do you do when the sky stops behaving the way the textbooks say it should?For decades, talk of unidentified flying objects (“UFOs”) sat on the margins. That's become harder to shrug off when decorated pilots, radar operators, and intel officers are raising their right hands in Congress and saying, I saw something I couldn't file away as a drone, jet, or planet.In this episode, we (JMill and Forrest) pull Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) into familiar territory: sensors, safety, and systems. They start with what crews actually see and record. How does a night-vision video line up with radar tracks? What happens when the infrared feed disagrees with the eyeballs in the cockpit? And why does the boring part like timestamps, logs, and chain-of-custody matter even more now that anyone can synthesize a convincing “leak” in an afternoon?Our conversation also zooms-out from individual cases to the wider mix. Many reports collapse to balloons, consumer drones, or reflected light once you have enough data. Some look a lot like foreign reconnaissance or test articles, which raises airspace and infrastructure questions. A small remainder still looks odd after serious review: abrupt accelerations, transmedium paths, signatures that do not match the usual catalog. So rather than chase headlines, the focus stays on a simpler test: what conditions would have to hold for this report to stand up?We also talk about JMill's new MIT course, Confronting Unknowns, which treats UAP as one of several challenge areas for sense-making under pressure. Forrest connects us back to tough tech in general, in which fusion, lunar rovers, new materials (to name just a few areas) all begin as something messy, uncertain, and science fiction, before hard work and big discoveries could make them science fact.So, the aim of the episode and the research we touch on is not to explain every light in the sky, but is instead a conversation on how we may practice how to think when the data are noisy, the stakes are serious, and “we don't know yet” is an honest, useful starting point. Tough tech is, almost by definition about building into uncertainty. UAPs are an extreme example, but the mindset – rigor, curiosity, and a willingness to update one's assumptions – is wholly shared.

My head felt as if it had been split open. I know that I cried out, but it was in vain. Then, that entire horrible feeling was instantly gone! In the latest episode of my podcast, I laid out the various theories of what UAPs are, many of which involve various definitions of the ominous term "non-human intelligence" that we've all been hearing about so much lately, recalled a terrifying nightmare I had two weeks ago, and briefly reviewed the Louis C.K. show I was privileged enough to attend on Wednesday night. I wish I had remembered to "name names" in terms of who represents what theories in the current discourse, particularly with respect to the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis. I also wish I had made it clearer that at least one sitting Congressman thinks we have "alien" bases underground and in oceans. That said, I think I did a good job overall discussing the options. It's cliché to post a podcast episode and say, "I'd love to know what you think," but in this case, I would genuinely love to know which theory you think is correct. Sorry it was such a long episode. I'm a bit of a talker.

This week, something unusual happened. Larry and I were listening to a major podcast when the guest began describing a military man who remembered being recruited at age 13 — into a psychic program no one was supposed to know about.It echoed the very material I've disclosed in Team Whisper and Interview with a Psychic Assassin.He wasn't in the base I had been in, but his story matched the structure, purpose, and technology: the weaponization of psychic abilities, intelligence-gathering work, and mind-wipe protocols.What interested me even more is why this is surfacing now… and how tightly it's being woven into the UFO disclosure agenda.This year has already matched the “Looking Ahead” markers, and 2026 is lining up fast.Larry and I listened to a podcast where a known documentarian was sharing his journey during his most recent documentary about UFOs (or as they like to call them, UAPs now). Near the end of his interview, he mentioned a particular military man who had started to recall having been recruited into military service at age 13, which in the USA is illegal.“I think they are talking about Team Whisper,” Larry said.“It sure sounds like it,” I answered.Of course, Team Whisper is a novel, so there was no way he was part of it. But what Larry was referring to was the real-life recruitment and weaponization of psychic children around the world.I have addressed this issue in two of my novels, Team Whisper and Interview with a Psychic Assassin. They are both revelatory of what has been happening to many kids around the world.The interviewee didn't mention the military man's name, but he did mention that there would be a memoir published by him under a pen name, “xxxx”.Having a physical (or digital) rendering of his story, and a name — even though it is not his real name — I was able to scan for the military man and found him.A couple of things became obvious. He did not appear to be in the same base I had been at as a kid.Oh, did I tell you that those novels are based on real-world events?However, even though he was not in the same base, it appears that he was indeed part of a similar organization and had very similar aims and goals — the goal being the weaponization of psychic abilities.His branch appeared to be more on the intelligence-gathering side of things: Remote Viewing, bilocation, expansion of awareness, and correct interpretation of data.One of the interesting parts of this whole thing was that he also left at 17 and was recruited later, as an adult, into the conventional military. It was also interesting that he and his relatives were mind-wiped when his childhood participation was over.The reason he started having memories return was because he had a medical condition that affected his brain. When he checked with his mother, she confirmed that his father had taken him into the military at age 13. He also found documentation in his father's old things to support his returning memories.For me, it was interesting that this kind of revelation is coming out right now on major mainstream outlets. Yes, the podcast was from a show with millions of listeners around the world.When I looked at it, and at how it had been tightly wrapped into the UFO disclosure programs, it made me wonder about how this is all going to look in 2026. ORIGNIAL AIR DATE: FEB 2, 2019Brent Raynes decided to begin researching and investigating the UFO phenomenon back around January 1967, at age 14, soon after reading Flying Saucers: Serious Business by the late Indiana broadcaster and author Frank Edwards. Initially Brent's focus in the UFO field was devoted to gathering evidence that seemed to support the popular mainstream "nuts and bolts" theory of extraterrestrial visitation to our planet. However, after a couple of years of reading and researching various magazine articles and books on the UFO matter, Brent began to give serious consideration to the alternative ideas, theories and evidence that was being presented by researcher-authors like John A. Keel, Dr. Jacques Vallee, and Brad Steiger. Over the years, Brent has been particularly interested in the UFO close encounter and contact experiencer and the various and perplexing paranormal components that all too often are very evident in these cases. Frequently after such an encounter, the witness may have a series of paranormal experiences, be it poltergeist type activity, a ghost or ball of light, precognition, an out-of-body episode, or some other psychic manifestation. Often these experiencers describe apparent "alien" and "ghost" experiences going back to childhood. Brent feels that the UFO contactee, abductee, shaman, religious visionary, medium, or NDEs aall share a remarkably similar psychic profile. He suggests that we need to take a deep, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary look at these matters, looking not just up at outer space for our answers but also explore the vast dimensions of inner space as well.
