I've been wanting my colleague Dr. Catherine Tucker to come on the pod for awhile now to discuss Theraplay, a therapeutic modality that utilizes the child-parent relationship to foster secure attachment through play-based activities. Catherine illuminates this modality, where the Practitioner guides the parent and child through playful, fun games, developmentally challenging activities, and tender, nurturing activities that helps the parent regulate the child's behavior and communicate love, joy, and safety to the child. Connecting in this way helps the child feel secure, cared for, connected and worthy. Who doesn't want that? We also talk about the power of presence, the concept of cycle starting, healing intergenerational trauma, and and the role of play in emotional regulation. We also discuss the embracing imperfection in parenting and focusing on connection over control in our relationships with our children. One of my goals in my work is to empower parents to be conscious and educated consumers as seek support for their child and themselves. You can find more information about Theraplay here: https://theraplay.org/the-theraplay-institute/ And here you can look for a Theraplay practitioner in your area: https://community.theraplay.org/search/custom.asp?id=7042 If you are local to Asheville and want to work with Catherine directly, you can locate her practice here! https://drcatherinetucker.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwooq3BhB3EiwAYqYoEjKhpoc7C-GL4rfow9TicXeqgFgLgObUgdUAj1Zds19o0jkCjDfNexoC2TcQAvD_BwE

Artificial Analysis and the Future of Competition Policy with Catherine Tucker

In this episode of Two Think Minimum, MIT Professor Catherine Tucker discusses her research on competition policy and artificial intelligence. The discussion focuses on how AI's unique cost structures differs from that of traditional digital economics, how economists think about AI, and the implications of AI for competition policy and antitrust enforcement. Tucker explains that the current high fixed and marginal costs in AI are likely temporary, and that it's difficult to predict which firms will succeed in the AI industry. She also highlights the challenges AI poses for antitrust enforcement, such as the potential lack of "hot docs," the need for greater technical expertise among regulators, and the importance of understanding the role of data and algorithms in competition analysis.

In this rib-tickling episode of the Tuck In podcast, hosts Olive, Sandra, and Catherine Tucker, a trio of sisters with charisma to spare, embark on a journey through the nooks and crannies of personal boundaries and the sometimes cringe-worthy moments of family life. With their infectious laughter and a knack for storytelling, they peel back the layers of comfort zones when spicy scenes pop up on the family TV, navigate the murky waters of explaining the birds and the bees to the wide-eyed younger generation, and take a stand on the ever-controversial topic of public displays of affection. The conversation meanders through the minefields of parenting, from the challenge of keeping a poker face when confronted with awkward questions from kids, to the art of dodging the subject entirely with creativity and humour. They share tales of family movie nights gone spicy, the great lengths they go to avoid the awkwardness of explicit content, and the hilariously inventive explanations they've concocted to sidestep the most probing of questions from their offspring. As the episode progresses, the sisters don their philosophical hats, pondering the intricacies of aging gracefully (or not) in a world obsessed with youth and beauty. They confess their own vanities and vulnerabilities, debating the merits and pitfalls of Botox while sharing laugh-out-loud anecdotes about their personal experiences with beauty treatments gone awry. But it's not all skin deep; the Tuck In trio also dives into the dynamics of social interactions, from deciphering the hidden language of chat-up lines to setting the record straight on their approachability quotient in social settings. With a healthy dose of self-deprecation, they recount tales of misinterpreted intentions, the occasional robbery, and the bewildering moments when they find themselves the unexpected targets of affection or, indeed, petty crime.Wrapped up in their heart-warming sisterly banter and sprinkled with their unique brand of humour, this episode of the Tuck In podcast is a rollercoaster ride through the quirks of daily life, family bonds, and the universal quest for a good laugh amidst the chaos. It's a testament to the fact that, when it comes to family and the unpredictable journey of life, sometimes all you can do is tuck in and enjoy the ride.Follow:https://www.instagram.com/tuckinsisters/https://twitter.com/Tuckinsistershttps://www.tiktok.com/@tuckinsistersProduced by Graco Studioshttps://www.gracostudios.comhttps://twitter.com/gracostudioshttps://instagram.com/gracostudioshttps://tiktok.com/@gracostudios Hosted on Acast. Digitalisation has transformed the advertising industry.  Not only are advertisers now able to target consumers to a far greater extent than was possible with traditional advertising, but they are also able to track and assess the performance of their ads in ways previously unimaginable. What makes this all possible is the treasure trove of data that we, as consumers, generate with our inexhaustible digital footprints. But does it necessarily mean that the firms with the largest data-sets hold substantial power in advertising markets? That is a question being studied by policymakers and competition authorities around the world and it’s one on which minds clearly differ. In this episode we are joined by Catherine Tucker, Professor of Management Science and Marketing at the MIT Sloan School of Management.  Catherine shares her insights from years of empirical research into advertising and the tools and techniques that make it effective.  The diagram depicting the complex digital advertising eco-system to which Catherine refers in the episode can be found here, and if you would like to learn more about Catherine’s research, her publications are on SSRN. Her disclosure statement can be read here. Featuring regular cut-through interviews with leading thinkers, movers and shakers, Competition Lore is a podcast series that engages us all in a debate about the transformative potential and risks of digitalised competition. Join Caron Beaton-Wells, Professor in Competition Law at the University of Melbourne, to tackle what it means to participate as a competitor, consumer or citizen in a digital economy and society.
