In this episode, Brian explains the distinction between primary and secondary headaches and breaks down the defining features of the "big three" primary headache types (migraine, cluster, and tension headache)—highlighting how often they are misdiagnosed and how they are treated. He explores the epidemiology of headaches, describing migraine as an invisible disease affecting about 12% of the population, disproportionately affecting women, while cluster headaches more often affect men. He discusses the major gap between demand for headache care and available specialists, and he offers advice on when to see a physician. Brian dives into the multifactorial nature and pathophysiology of migraine, including genetic and hormonal influences, neurovascular changes, and inflammatory signaling, and connects these mechanisms to modern therapies. Throughout the conversation, he emphasizes the individualized nature of headache disorders and the importance of a detailed headache diary. Brian shares practical strategies for treating headaches including lifestyle changes, medications, and neuromodulation devices. We discuss: Brian's interest in headaches and how Peter met Brian [2:15]; Differentiating the types of headaches: primary versus secondary headache and tension versus migraine headache [7:30]; The epidemiology and burden of migraine, its disproportionate affect on women, and the shortage of headache specialists [20:00]; Genetic susceptibility to migraine and the role of hormones [24:45]; Migraine triggers, the impact of hormones, and the importance of a headache diary [31:15]; The phases of a migraine: premonitory symptoms, aura, the headache itself, and the postdrome [38:15]; Tension headaches: symptoms, causes, and prevalence [41:45]; Cluster headaches: extreme pain, distinctive symptoms, and frequent misdiagnosis as a sinus infection or allergies [43:15]; Lifestyle interventions to prevent headaches [51:15]; Pharmacological treatments to prevent headaches [1:05:00]; What's known about the pathophysiology of migraines: neurovascular changes, release of neuropeptides, and inflammatory response [1:14:45]; CGRP antagonists for the treatment of migraines: large monoclonal antibodies and gepants [1:20:15]; Use of calcium channel blockers and Botox to treat cluster headache and migraine [1:28:30]; Drugs for the acute treatment of migraines [1:32:30]; Treatment of migraines with electrical stimulation devices [1:40:00]; Use of THC or cannabis to treat headaches [1:44:00]; What Brian wants people to know about headaches [1:45:45]; Brian's advice on when to see a doctor about headaches and how to prepare for that visit [1:49:15]; and More. I think there's bigger print ones in the shelf in the very back.00:23Oh, Jane Hour got it. Alright. So if you want a bigger print Bible, you've got to wrestle Jane Hour for it.00:30Oh, okay, there's more back there. Okay, you don't have to, you don't want to do that anyways.00:34So, but please consider it our gift to you if you don't have one. So, speaking of, I'd like you to just stop for a moment and pray for me to communicate God's Word as I should accurately and clearly. And I will pray for you to have a heart open to receive what it is the Lord tells us in His Word.01:04in this portion we're looking at today. So let's pray. Father in heaven, as we turn to this portion of your word, there's such great encouragement for what you have promised. There's also challenging conviction. Your word says that when we have this hope, we purify ourselves as you are pure. So I pray, Father, that this Yes, would be informational in the sense of correcting wrong thinking that we have carried. But at the same time, Father, use this to motivate us to use the short time we have here on the earth to make an impact for your kingdom. We thank you ahead of time for whatever it is you're going to do here, Father. We pray in Jesus' name. When all of God's people said, Excuse me. Amen. 1 Corinthians 15, are you there? Back in 2009, Heidi Montag, who is one of the stars of the TV show The Hills, she was 23 at the time, 2009. She had 10 plastic surgeries.02:35in one day.02:39Ten plastic surgeries in one day.02:45You got questions?02:47I got questions.02:49Like, ten?02:52What all did she have done?02:53Well, she had her brow lifted.02:57She had Botox.02:59She had her nose done.03:01She had fat injected into her cheeks.03:04and lips. She had her chin done. She had her neck done. Liposuction. Isn't that when they take the fat out? But then it was put into her cheeks. So just like one hose. All right. I don't know. Look, I've never had plastic surgery, but you probably knew that.03:34You're like, I sure hope you didn't pay for that look. Anyways, she had her ears pinned back like a Doberman. She had her waist, her hips, and her thighs done and some other things. Ten surgeries in one day. You got questions? I got questions. How much does something like that cost? Well, I had to Google that. I have no idea. I don't know what the going rate is now, let alone what it was in 2009.04:04It cost her, they say, about $30,000.04:12How long does that take?04:16How long does all that stuff, it was 10 hours of surgery.04:22You know what my question was?04:26Did anybody recognize her when she got home?04:29Could you imagine?04:30and she leaves in the morning and she's like, I'm going to have some surgery. Then she comes back, a completely different person. Like, hey, I'm home. And they're like, ah, who are you? Like, it's me. It's me, Heidi. You know, groundhog, we didn't recognize you. I mean, we do all kinds of things to try to keep this young and from wearing out. And look, maybe plastic surgery is not.05:00your thing. Maybe it's exercise. I was going to ask for a show of hands, but I think to save all of us from embarrassment, myself included, we won't do any hand raising here. Okay, at least for this part. But do you have an exercise equipment graveyard in your basement? Do you remember things like the ab circle? Do you remember the ab circle? The bow flex, the toe flex, The Total Gym. How about the Thighmaster? You old enough to remember the Thighmaster? Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze your way to firmer thighs. Well, maybe it was just the exercise method, right? Because we've got Pilates, we've got yoga and Zumba, P90X, Insanity.06:00T25. You ever done this program? I've done Insanity and T25. And let me tell you, that is for the birds. For the birds. And I was like really into it for a while. And my wife was like, are you doing that exercise thing where you dance around the living room like a ninny? I'm like, well, I guess not anymore.06:31Okay, like, you can get the body you've always wanted. Get the body you've always wanted. The problem is you're not going to keep it forever. 1 Corinthians 15 is all about the resurrection. Jesus and ours. The Bible says because Jesus rose from the dead, Listen, I think so many people sitting in churches miss this truth. You, too, are going to rise from the dead in a new body. Now, if I told you, hey, next week, you're going to get a new car. But here's the deal. This car, this is the only car you're allowed to drive for the next 40 years.07:30car it is? Wouldn't you want to know what it's like? You mean I'm stuck with this car for four decades? Yeah. What kind of car is it? Tell me about it. I want to know all about it, right? Right? Well, the Bible says you're going to get a new body that you are going to have for all of eternity. Would you like to know what this body is like?08:00of eternity. So, we've got a lot of information here. Again, in this chapter, Paul packs so much information. And we're going to be going through it very quickly. So, you might want to listen to this again when it's on our website or podcast or whatever. You might want to pass this on to someone else. So, I encourage you to jot some notes down. First question, we're just going to take a step back here and kind of this whole thing. The first question is, what happens to me when I die? What happens to me when I die? And the reason we're starting here is like, look, okay, we got resurrection. Okay, but like, it's obviously not immediate. So, what happens to me when I die? Well, the Bible never talks about limbo or purgatory or soul sleep. The Bible never talks about that stuff. The Bible is very clear. If you're a believer in Christ, when you die, you are immediately in the presence of the Lord, right?09:002 Corinthians 5 verse 8 says we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Paul says something very similar to this in Philippians 123.09:14He said to depart is to be with Christ.09:20Right? So if you're a believer when you die you are in the presence of the Lord.09:23Your spirit is. And if you have not received Christ you go to a place of torment called Hades, where you are awaiting the final judgment. All right? But the Bible promises that eventually, eventually, everybody, everybody will get a resurrected body. Everybody gets one. Like, well, when do these resurrections take place?09:57Here's the next question on your outline. Understand again, the Bible is crystal clear and consistent. It teaches many times there are two resurrections. Okay, there are two. Acts 24, 15. There will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust. Right? We talked about that before. Daniel 12, 2. Jesus said it in John 5, 28 and 29. There are two resurrections. Okay.10:27First, I want to talk to those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, those who are born again. The Bible says you will get your resurrected body at the rapture. Now, we're not going to get too deep into this now because next week the whole passage is about the rapture. But at the rapture, when Jesus returns to remove His people from the earth, believers up to that point, dead or alive, will get a new resurrected body.10:57about that next week. Those are for believers. For those who have rejected God's gift in Jesus Christ. For those who are like, I'm living life on my terms. I don't want Jesus. I don't want anything to do with God. It's truth. Worship, I don't want anything to do with that. There's a resurrection for unbelievers too. Again, timeline in your Bible. There's a seven-year tribulation coming, talked about in the book of Revelation. At the end of that, Jesus comes back, strikes down all who rejected Him, and He sets a thousand year kingdom on the earth. Jesus will reign on the earth for a thousand years. Revelation chapter 20 says, at the end of the thousand years is the second resurrection. Again, you can read that later. Revelation chapter 20. After the thousand year reign, all unbelievers, all unbelievers of all time are called out of Hades. They're called before the great white throne.11:57of Jesus Christ where they will be sentenced to the lake of fire. So, believers will get an eternal body to enjoy in heaven and unbelievers will get an eternal body that will suffer in hell, the lake of fire. Alright? So, the real question of the day that's addressed in this text, and we kind of did an on-ramp here to get to this point, But the question that is addressed today is, what is the resurrection body like? I'm going to be driving it for eternity? What's it like? What's it like? Well, we talked about this before. In the Corinthian church, there were a lot of resurrection deniers. A lot of the Greeks denied that there was such a thing. So, Paul anticipates the mocking questions that come. That's where he picks up in verse He says, but someone will ask, how are the dead raised?13:05With what kind of body do they come?13:08Again, those are mocking questions.13:13Paul's not anticipating as much the sincere can you please give us information as much as the people that are sort of making fun.13:21Like, how in the world are dead people raised?13:25Like, oh, you believe in resurrection?13:27What kind of body do they have? They're kind of making fun. Our day, like Paul's day, I found that some of the greatest theologians and Bible experts are people that have never opened the Bible. Have you noticed that? That was sarcasm. Because Paul gives them a hard rebuke, verse 36. He says, you foolish person.13:56Oh, you think you're so smart with your little questions. Oh, you're really stumped me. He goes, you're foolish. You're not even thinking. Look, I don't think there's anybody here today that's like that, that's like mocking. I don't think so. I'm sure there's somebody that's going to be listening to this online. I don't imagine there's anybody in the room right now that is scornfully asking questions like this.14:26But at the same time, when it comes to the topic, I do think there's a lot of confusion in the church about this whole resurrected body. Because I get asked these questions all the time. Pastor Taylor, you probably do too, right? People ask these questions. Will my new body look like my old body? Because that's important. Because what if I get to heaven and nobody recognizes me? But am I going to be able to recognize other people?14:57How old am I going to look? I mean, what if I live to be like 107? Am I going to look 107 for all of eternity? What about like, unfortunately, an infant who passes away? Is that person going to be an infant for all of eternity? Like, what does it look like? And then what about people that like aren't buried? You know, we're going to be talking about coming up out of the grave. What about people that aren't in the grave? Like, what about people that, I don't know, they fell overboard on a cruise and were eaten by a shark and they weren't buried.15:30What about those people?15:33Or what about people that maybe were incinerated in a fire and...15:41Well, Paul does such an amazing job in such a few words describing the difference between this vehicle we're driving today and the vehicle that we'll be driving someday.15:56So number one, what's the resurrection body like? What is the resurrection body like? Number one, he says your body now is like a seed and your resurrected body is like a plant. All right, look at verse 36. He says, What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. What you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel perhaps of wheat or some other grain. But God gives it a body as He has chosen.16:51its own body.16:57Your body now is like a seed.16:58Your resurrected body is like a plant.17:00Now if you have a seed in your hand, like, you know, it is the season, right?17:04I think of a watermelon seed.17:05Just imagine a watermelon seed.17:09You know, we've all seen those.17:10We've all spit those out.17:11Those little hard, brown, flat seeds, right?17:20When you put that in the ground, when you bury a watermelon seed, it rises up as something completely different, doesn't it? That's what Paul's talking about here. I mean, I'm not a farmer. You might want to fact check with Jesse on this. I'm not a farmer. I'm barely a gardener, as they say in Minnesota. I'm not. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but when you are going to plant something, you don't take a whole plant and bury it in the ground to get another whole plant.17:54The seed goes in the ground and dies and comes up as something different.18:01The seed that you bury is different than the plant that comes.18:08And we all get that, right?18:09You don't plant a watermelon seed, a little brown, flat, hard seed, and outgrows a big, a flat brown seed. That's just like it, only bigger. That's not how it works. It's completely different. But not completely because there's, in a sense, there's continuity between the seed and the plant, right? There's continuity. You know what I mean by that? I mean, if you plant a watermelon seed, you're not going to grow an apple tree.18:45Like, why not? Because God determined. Watermelon seeds only make watermelons. If you want an apple tree, you need to plant an apple seed, right? God determines. God has chosen the kind of body that everything gets. And you know what He has chosen for you? A glorified body. So that's Paul's first analogy here. He says, just look at your body.19:15And really all this is, is it's a seed that's going to be planted. And something that comes out is going to be different. You're like, how different? Well, number two, your resurrected body will be similar but different but better. Similar but different but better.19:44Let's pick up in verse 39. He says, For not all flesh is the same. There is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, the stars. For star differs from star in glory. So it is with the resurrection of the dead. Another illustration. Paul's like, look at the animal kingdom. Look at the animal kingdom. We have humans and animals and birds and fish, right? You've been to the zoo.20:44Notice how all animals have flesh, right? All animals have flesh. So that's like the same, right? But it's really not the same because the flesh of a fish is different from like the flesh of a groundhog or an eagle or a human. Why is that?21:16It's all perfectly suited for their respective environments. That's why. Why does a fish have the flesh that it has? For the water. That flesh wouldn't do any good on a bird. A bird has the flesh that it has so it can do the things that the birds do. It's all similar but it's different.21:45suited for the environment, right? Then he talks, he's like, let's get off the earth for a second. Let's talk about the sun, moon, and stars. All heavenly bodies, right? Now from earth, when we look up at the sky, what do we see? All these round, bright things. Some are bigger, some are brighter, but the sky is full of them. But did you know, like, even with the stars, each one is completely unique.22:14There aren't even two stars in the universe that are exactly the same. He says they're all different, but every one of these things in the sky does the thing that it's supposed to do, right? The sun to give us light and warmth, the moon for the tides, and the stars for whatever purpose God has for the stars. Same but different.22:45Perfectly suited for their purpose. And then Paul hits us in verse 42. He says, so it is with your glorified, resurrected body. How does it compare to this one that we have here? It's going to be the same, but it's going to be different. And it's going to be way better. Because this body, was made for the earth. But the new body is going to be made for heaven. Similar, but different, but better. Number three, your resurrected body will never have earthly weaknesses. Earthly weaknesses. Pick up in verse 42. He says, what is sown is perishable. What is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory.23:44It is sown in weakness. It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Stop there. Your resurrected body will never have earthly weaknesses. Do you notice over and over and over again? Sown, sown, sown, sown. He's keeping this seed metaphor going because it's so appropriate.24:15You go in the ground. Your body is a seed. You go in the ground as one thing. And you come up out of the ground as something different. Something better. Something glorious. And here he talks about the earthly weaknesses that we will not have. So he gives four contrasts here. Again, it's all straight from the text. Your Bible says the same thing.24:44These are four contrasts between this body, this vehicle we're driving now, and the resurrected body that we're going to get someday. Letter A, perishable versus imperishable. Perishable versus imperishable. On your outline beside that, write the word decay. That's what he's talking about. Perishable. This body decays. This body is wearing out.25:16Dying you will die. Look, all of us, we're wearing out, we're decaying. I mean, you should have seen me when I was 20. I was well-built, good-looking, and you're like, what happened? Dying you will die. I'm decaying, and so are you. Versus imperishable.25:44The resurrected body, imperishable. You know what that means? It means all physical and mental health issues that we experience living in a fallen body are gone forever. That's what that means. No sickness. Your resurrected body will have no sickness, no cancer, no cerebral palsy, no multiple sclerosis, no muscular dystrophy, no diabetes, no asthma, no Alzheimer's.26:15No osteoporosis.26:18No arthritis.26:21No organ failure.26:22Nothing.26:24Your body will be imperishable.26:26It will not.26:27Wasn't it about this time in the first service?26:29People were just like coughing like crazy.26:32So we took a coughing break in the first service.26:36So go ahead.26:36If you get a cough, let her out.26:38Go ahead.26:43Go ahead.26:45I mean, get it out of your system. Because here's the thing, coughing is something you only enjoy on earth. Because at the resurrection, you're not going to cough. So live it up. There's no sickness. Your body is imperishable. No sickness. No pain. No pain. Imagine that. No pain. Can you think, like, what's the worst pain?27:14that you've ever been in in your life. I just want you to think about that for a second. What is the worst pain that you've ever experienced in your life? Men, have you ever had a cold? Because if you have, you know The peak of human suffering.27:51But pain's going to be a memory someday.27:54Think about that.27:54In eternity future, in our resurrected bodies, we'll be like, Taylor, bro, do you remember back when we had pain?28:02He's like, I barely remember pain.28:04What was that?28:07It's going to be history.28:09You'll never wear out.28:10You'll never grow old.28:11You'll never be sick.28:12Death itself is going to be history. Perishable versus imperishable. Letter B, dishonor versus glory. Dishonor versus glory. On your outline beside this, write sin. This is in regards to sin. The fall of man has saturated this earth with the corruption of sin. And our current bodies are are thoroughly affected by sin. Thoroughly. What did Paul say in Romans 7? I know that no good thing dwells in me, that is my flesh. That's what he's talking about. He says this, here, my spirit is renewed. I'm born again. God's Holy Spirit lives in here. But God's Holy Spirit lives in a body that still hungers for sin.29:13Hungers for rebellion against God. Everything we, listen, everything we do is tainted with some degree of corruption. You know, if we're being honest, even when I set out to do something good, There's always a little something in there that's just kind of selfish, like this is the right thing to do, this is a righteous thing, but there's something in me some shade of a is there a selfish motive here more spotlight for me little glory for me here selfish motive here you're that way too we all are There's nothing that we can do that is 100% free from the taint of sin. And that's what he's talking about here. The day's going to come when we're in this body, we have this new body, and there won't be any bent towards sin in this glorified body.30:43Weakness versus power. Beside that, just write the word strength. This speaks to strength. We are so weak. We are so weak. You're like, speak for yourself. I'm a strapping young lad. I'm not weak. Yes, you are. We're all weak.31:11We are all so weak. Not convinced? Strapping young lad? How is it that a virus that's so small that we can't even see it, it can knock you down for days? You think about that next time you're feeling strong. We're weak. And you know, you don't even need to be, you don't even need to be sick.31:41to feel worn out.31:46I can keep strange hours and I've had people ask me, like, do you ever, they're like, don't you ever get tired?31:53I'm like, do I get tired?31:56No, I do not get tired.32:01I stay tired.32:03You see, for me to say I get tired would imply that I'm starting from a platform of being well-rested and strong. I've never started from that platform. I just stay in this place of tired. I'm not proud of it, but there's many days that when I wake up, one of my first thoughts is, am I going to have an opportunity for a nap today? Anybody else? Okay, thank you. Just the people on this tired side.32:40of the room. These people don't get tired over here. Did you notice that? It's all over here.32:51Listen, your new body, he says, right, is powerful. No weakness, no weariness.33:00And letter D, natural versus spiritual. Natural versus spiritual.33:06We talked about this before. This is speaking to environmental suitability.33:11Your new body is going to be perfect for the environment that it is going to be in. Your new body will be visible. Yes. It'll be tangible. Yes. But it's not going to be subject to the laws of nature as we know it now. Like, what do I mean? Well, I mean, this body we have now, God designed, perfectly for the earth environment.33:47But, you could say we're a little restricted.33:50We're sort of hemmed in as a part of creation.33:56We're restricted in these bodies by pesky little things like gravity and time and air.34:07Those things kind of limit us in a sense. But our new bodies, our resurrected bodies are going to rise above the current laws of nature and time and space. And you're thinking right now, like what? And that's not the right question to ask. The right question isn't like what? The right question is like who? And that leads us to the last one, number four.34:38This to me is one of the most mind-blowing things in Scripture, by the way. He says, your resurrected body is just like Jesus' glorified body. Your resurrected body is just like Jesus' glorified body. See, Paul had this, he was using these metaphors with the seeds and the plants and the planets and the animals.35:06He's moving from metaphorical to literal now. He's going to be talking about our actual body. Look at verse 45. He says, thus, it is written, the first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.35:35The first man was from the earth, a man of dust. The second man is from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust. And as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, We shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. Right now, Paul says, right now, we bear the image of the man of dust. That's Adam. That's us. We are people of dust. That's... I don't mean this as an insult. I just mean this as literal truth. Your body right now consists of a handful, of dust and a lot of water. That's all any of us are consisting of. I'm sure you're beautiful on the inside, but I just mean your physical body, your dust and water. That's what he's talking about. We bear the image of the man of dust. He says someday you will bear the image of the man of heaven. That's Jesus Christ. Here's what he's saying very clearly.37:05is just like Adam's. Our glorified body will be just like the resurrected body of Jesus Christ. The Bible is so clear about this over and over. Like here's another reference to that, Philippians chapter 3, verse 21. He says, Jesus, look at this, will transform our lowly body to be like His, Glorious Body.37:38And I just want to encourage you to go back in your Bibles this week.37:43Read Luke 24. Read John chapter 20. Read Acts chapter 1.37:47If you want to know like kind of what is our glorified body going to be able to do, look at the things that Jesus did in His glorified body.38:01Like for example, in Jesus' glorified body, He was recognized by sight and by voice and by His wounds.38:11And Jesus in His glorified body ate.38:16Will we eat in heaven?38:17Yeah, we will actually.38:19Not because we have to, but because we'll enjoy it.38:26That is according to Revelation 22 too.38:30But you notice, Jesus in His resurrected body wasn't bound by the laws of nature. He did things like disappear. He did things like move from place to place suddenly. The Bible says Jesus could walk right through the wall. Did you ever go through a wall? I have, but not like Jesus. But someday, we'll be able to just, transcend these kinds of rules that we know now, right? Oh, you know the big one. Acts chapter 1. What did Jesus do in His glorified body? He ascended. He ascended. And you're like, well, are you saying, Pastor Jeff, that you really believe that we're going to be able to fly? Yeah. That wasn't my idea. The Bible is very clear.39:29that our body is going to be just like the glorified body of Jesus himself. So your resurrected body will be just like his. Our worship team would make their way back to the platform here. You know, the Bible is clear, my friends, that you are You are. Everyone is. There is no question as to whether or not you will get an eternal, indestructible body. Excuse me, you will get one. The Bible is clear about that. There's only one real question. With your eternal, indestructible body, will you be living forever?40:28in heaven? Or will you be dying forever in hell? Because you see, for those who have received Christ, yes, we will have this body to be in the presence of the Lord, to fellowship with each other, and most importantly, to worship God eternally in a body that doesn't get tired? That's going to be so awesome. But on the other hand, If you have not received the gift of grace that God has given us in Jesus Christ, you're going to get an eternal body. But it's going to be to suffer forever. You know, hell is described as fire. And I can't imagine anything more horrific than being on fire in a body that can't be consumed. Eternally suffering. And if you haven't received God's gift of eternal life in Christ, I don't know what you're waiting for. Today can be the day. And I want you to hear me. God wants you.41:58saved. God wants you with Him for eternity.42:08How do I know that?42:10Because the Bible says things like, it is God's will that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance.42:15That's what God wants.42:17The Bible says things like, God does not delight in the death of the wicked.42:22God wants you in eternity with Him.42:25God wants you as His adopted child.42:28Do you know how I know? Because of what God did to make that possible. That He sent His Son to die on the cross on your behalf. To take the penalty for all of the sins that you committed and that I committed. God spared not His Son but delivered Him up for us all. How do I know God wants you in heaven with Him for eternity? Because of what He spent to make that happen.42:59I'd like you to bow your heads please. And if you haven't made that decision, if you haven't received the gift, let today be the day. Let today be the day that you come to grips with the fact of who you are and who God is, what you've done and what God has done.43:28And pray something like this. Pray, God, I know that I have lived my life apart from you and I have only ever wanted my way.43:41God, you have sent your son to buy me back.43:45To save me from the destructive path of my own self-centered will.43:53To save me from eternally being separated from you.43:57You did that through the death and the resurrection of Your Son. If you pray something like that today, or if you want to stick around and pray with one of our pastors or elders, let today be the day that we're done playing games, we're done pretending, we're done being church attenders, warming a seat, going through the motions. We want to be sincere. We sincerely believe.44:28We sincerely belong to Jesus Christ. Father, I pray, I pray, Father, that you would not give a minute's rest to anyone here who doesn't know you. That today would be the day that through the power of your Spirit, through the wisdom and encouragement and conviction that comes from your Word, today would be the day, Father.44:59They go to bed tonight unable to sleep. Until they do business with you. But for those of us, Father, who do know you, we thank you for these glorious promises. And I suppose that if I was going to try to make up what I thought could be the best promise ever, it would be nothing compared to how awesome your actual promises really are. Anything that I can imagine being great about eternity or heaven or a new body, it would pale in comparison to the reality of what you have actually promised. Father, we thank you. Let this be an encouragement for us to plod along for the next 15 minutes of life on earth in anticipation of our own resurrection. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. The Vogue September issue is the most important issue of the year for the storied fashion magazine. And this year's edition is the first one published under the new direction of Chloe Malle, head of editorial content, who took over for the legendary Anna Wintour last September. On the Glossy Podcast this week, hosts senior fashion reporter Danny Parisi and editor-in-chief Jill Manoff take a look at Malle's first September issue and break down some of the ways that both Vogue and the larger fashion media industry have evolved. Chief among those changes is that print magazines are no longer the primary source of style information for the vast majority of fashion enthusiasts. The September issue of old was a bellwether for trends, informing the public about what was in style now and coming down the pipeline. But print can't compete with the speed of online publishing, where much of that timely trend analysis has moved, meaning that print has to be more timeless. The result is a sometimes contradictory product, full of ads for brands that are hot right now, but with editorial content that feels detached from the fashion business. "It's interesting that Chloe Malle is coming from a digital background," Manoff said. "I was a Vogue subscriber for years, and I used to read things that were buzzy and new. This issue had stories about improving your mood with Botox or one about the dangers of clenching your jaw. I was just like, 'What am I reading here?'" "A lot of it doesn't feel very timely," Parisi said. "Part of that is that people are more likely to buy print magazines today as a collector's item, as a coffee table book. That's why you see so many of those commemorative issues of random magazines in the grocery store aisle. They're not meant to give you timely information, which has all moved online." The hosts also discuss the cover story, featuring Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere, two children of famous parents, and the connection to Chloe Malle, herself the daughter of actress Candice Bergen and filmmaker Louis Malle. The issue ties the theme of children of famous parents to the many designers who have taken over at legacy fashion houses in the last year. And the September issue would be nothing without the clothes. This issue continues a trend in fashion editorial of single-brand looks. "We've definitely moved away from the stylist-driven looks, which haven't been the norm for a while," Manoff said. "I like when you see 'stylist-owned ball cap' or 'vintage jeans' in the credits. It's unfortunate that that's gone, because that is very inspiring to me. When you see a head-to-toe look that's all one brand, you're not getting ideas on how to style it. Nobody dresses that way."

Recent research shows that between 40 and 60% of women either change or quit their sport due to bladder leaks. That's 100% too many in our book. So this week we sat down with Dr. Lauren Siff, a double board-certified urogynecologist to demystify one of women's health's most under-discussed issues: urinary leakage. We break down the differences between stress and urge incontinence, why athletes and active women are prone to leaking, and how the menopausal transition can worsen the situation through declining estrogen, shifting vaginal pH, and rising UTI risk. Dr. Siff walks us through the full range of solutions, from pelvic floor exercises and support devices to Botox, bladder stimulators, and the game-changing role of vaginal estrogen, plus how to know when it's time to seek care. Her message is loud and clear in this one: no matter how small or severe the symptoms, there's help available — and you never have to stop doing what you love.Dr. Siff is a double board-certified urogynecologist and Chief of Gynecology and Urogynecology for the Central Virginia VA Health Care System and Associate Professor at VCU School of Medicine and VCU Institute of Engineering. A dedicated innovator and surgical educator — with a Distinguished Educator certificate from the Cleveland Clinic and founder of SurgicalEd VR, which uses VR and haptic technology to improve the quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and accessibility of surgical training. She also serves board and committee roles with the Society for Gynecologic Surgeons, American Urogynecologic Society, and American Association of GYN Laparoscopists. She is Central Virginia Site Lead for the National VA Women's Health Research Network, and chairman of the U.S. National Surgery Office's Surgical Advisory Board for GYN. Philanthropically, she directs surgeon training for Global Surgical Expedition, driven by a mission to democratize access to surgical training and vital surgical procedures worldwide.FeistyFit Info: https://livefeisty.com/training/running/feistyfitfall/Join us at Feisty Fest September 18-20, 2026: https://livefeisty.com/events/feisty-fest/Women's Mechanic Camp in Tucson: https://livefeisty.com/events/bike-mechanic-school-tucson/Courses and Coaching: https://livefeisty.com/courses/Sign up for our FREE Feisty 40+ newsletter: https://livefeisty.com/newsletters/feisty-40/Follow Us on Instagram:Feisty Menopause: @feistymenopauseHit Play Not Pause Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/807943973376099Support our Partners:Midi Health: You Deserve to Feel Great. Dr. Fauci's pleading of the Fifth 111 times in a recent Senate hearing outraged many Americans. Far before the Senate, in Missouri vs. Biden (2026), in which Dr. Kheriaty was a plaintiff, Dr. Fauci pleaded the Fifth 168 times; the Justice Department recently ruled in his favor. It is understandable, then, that many have had cause for outrage for many years. Some paid for COVID lockdowns and irrational mandates with their livelihoods, including Dr. Kheriaty, who was fired from UC-Irvine's School of Medicine after he challenged their COVID vaccine mandate in Federal Court. Others, unfortunately, paid for these pandemic-era policies with their lives. What these hearings revealed is something that can't be unseen: the U.S. healthcare system rests on an enormous amount of unchecked power. A solution is needed. Drs. Kheriaty and Orlandi discuss this and more on this episode of What We Can't Not Talk About.Timeline Summary [0:00] – Introduction and welcome; Dr. Orlandi welcomes back Dr. Aaron Kheriaty of the Ethics and Public Policy Center. [1:48] – Seeing American medicine with an outsider's eye, and why this conversation could not wait. [3:35] – Challenging UC Irvine's vaccine mandate in federal court, and being fired for it. [5:22] – Censored for saying true things: what could and could not be said about the COVID shots. [7:07] – Missouri v. Biden, the government's own admissions, and Fauci under oath for the first time. [8:53] – “I don't recall”: amnesia for the most consequential decisions of the pandemic. [10:42] – Why no credible scientist says “The Science”: conjecture, refutation, and the method itself. [12:28] – What Fauci's government records actually show, and why they are fair game for the public. [14:14] – Scott Atlas's memoirs, and the pattern that was clear long before the Senate hearing. [16:03] – The New Abnormal: a man used by the media, the biosecurity apparatus, and financial interests. [17:49] – Refusing responsibility, and the more controversial point Dr. Orlandi wants to make. [19:37] – Why this must not happen again: honest scientists, royalties, and the temptation of power. [21:22] – The NIH's grip on American medical research, and what the purse strings buy. [23:12] – Doctors who harboured private doubts and would not say in public what they wrote in email. [24:59] – “Prove me wrong” in an age when nobody can be proved wrong, and dogma dressed as science. [26:48] – Flattery and flatterers: why people in authority must sift what their critics say. [28:37] – Weak leaders and strong leaders; Lincoln, and surrounding yourself with better people. [30:23] – The despair crisis that predated COVID, and what isolation actually did to patients. [32:11] – The Other Pandemic: the lockdown mental health crisis, and the CDC's own evidence. [33:58] – The disingenuous framing that critics of lockdowns put money ahead of public health. [35:43] – All-cause mortality at record highs, and the data that was suppressed at the time. [37:29] – Propaganda's cruellest trick: the guilt that stops you looking again. [39:15] – A suggestion for anyone willing to revisit what they believed, and a turn towards medicine. [41:02] – Gain-of-function research, lab leaks, and why staying calm is the first thing to do. [42:49] – Mask theatre on the way to the table: do not outsource logic or common sense. [44:34] – Targeted advice, monetised data, and health guidance that does not look like selling. [46:20] – Trust your instincts and the people who care about you; simple advice patients can follow. [48:06] – Why medicine chases weight loss, and the money in treatment rather than prevention. [49:52] – A competing theory of cancer, available since the 1930s and largely ignored. [51:37] – Ozempic, Botox, and the message that there is a magic pill for every problem. [53:23] – Where these drugs do make sense, and why cosmetic use fails the risk-benefit test. [55:11] – Cheap toxic food, expensive healthy food, and why obesity is not simple laziness. [56:58] – Contraceptive estrogens in the water supply, fertility, and the costs pushed onto families. [58:45] – Courage, staying in the fight, and having someone in Washington you can call. [1:00:32] – “Social distancing” rather than physical distancing, and the bonds it broke. We're back with another episode of The Double Cleanse, and this week James and Robert are diving into their current favourite products… alongside some wild TikTok Shop trends that are driving them crazy. After opening with memories of filming for a blood donation campaign back when it became legal for gay men to donate in the UK (they were pale and nearly fainting… and the footage was apparently too unusable to ever air), the twins share embarrassing health moments – including the time a doctor spilled Robert's urine sample ALL over the clinic floor and then cleaned it up while he sat there mortified. They also have their current go-to products – including the Korean sunscreen with niacinamide meaning it doesn't sting the eyes, the flat brushes that actually push product INTO your skin, and the cloudy serum with salmon egg DNA that brightens and rejuvenates. They also tackle the ridiculous TikTok Shop trends going around – people stitching videos claiming "he doesn't get Botox, he uses this!"- and the bizarre toothpaste trend where people put their finger in the back of their mouth to determine if they need mouthwash. The logic? Non-existent. The content? Everywhere. Don't forget to subscribe and catch new episodes of The Double Cleanse every Monday! Americans spend nearly $30 billion a year on plastic surgery procedures, including fillers and Botox. And there's probably no better example than the White House, where the "Mar-A-Lago face" – a very specific, very smooth, very… augmented appearance – runs rampant. But maybe that's starting to change. Faced with actors, actresses, influencers, and AI, some people are starting to forgo their pursuit of aesthetic perfection in favor of something a little more natural. But does that mean more people are going to go without Botox – or will more people want procedures that don't make them look like they had Botox? To find out, we spoke with Amanda Mull, senior reporter at Bloomberg Businessweek. And in headlines, the national debt surpasses a record $40 trillion, North Korea launches multiple short-range ballistic missiles, and the U.S. has sent 20 deportees to Liberia as part of a new deal.Show Notes: Check out Amanda's piece – tinyurl.com/33w2rm56 Call Congress – 202-224-3121 Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/y4y2e9jy What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcast Follow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/ For a transcript of this episode, please email transcripts@crooked.com
Dr. Will Cole and his clinical team go deep on three listener questions: the functional medicine approach to bipolar II depression (including gut health, the COMT gene, mold toxicity, mitochondrial dysfunction, lithium orotate, and saffron), whether masseter Botox for TMJ pain is safe and worth it, and whether the viral social media trend of sticking your tongue out for 40 seconds actually lowers cortisol. The answer to that last one is more interesting than the trend itself. Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they're revisiting the season 1 special that counted down the 15 most outrageous moments from the very first season. But for Christi and Kelly, this special feels less like a celebration and more like a full hour of reliving their most chaotic, embarrassing, and frustrating moments on national television. From Christi's fight with Abby over Chloe's headpiece to Kelly hiring another choreographer for Paige, the Botox trip, the mom dance, the Afro wig controversy, Minister Dawn, Cathy leaving the team, and the infamous “shove it up your ass” crown moment, season 1 had no shortage of insanity.Christi and Kelly look back on what was really happening behind the scenes, what the show left out, and how strange it was to watch Abby get the last word on so many fights where they were not there to defend themselves. They also revisit some of the funniest and messiest moments from the original cast, while explaining why season 1 had a chemistry that later seasons could never fully recreate. We originally aired this episode back in 2022, but it's been re-edited specifically for YouTube!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments!
Our friend Tim, CEO of Ice Cream for Bears, is back on the show! In this episode, host Walter Sterling and UFO expert Dave Scott dive into Canada's raging "bureaucracy fires" before exposing explosive claims that the US government is harboring four distinct alien species—including seven-foot-tall praying mantis beings. The show goes deep into the "Great Mud Flood" conspiracy theory of a buried ancient empire, discusses why Sopranos star Drea de Matteo turned to OnlyFans to pay off her mortgage, and questions if Botox is quietly killing the art of acting in modern cinema.
Dr. Thomas Sammons – Bringing Technology, Compassion and a Preventive Approach to Dentistry Dr. Thomas “Tom” Sammons of Dental Artistry joins Discover Lafayette to discuss his path into dentistry, his commitment to continuing education and advanced technology, and his philosophy that good dental care is about far more than simply fixing teeth. A Youngsville native and UL Lafayette graduate, Dr. Sammons grew up in Acadiana after his family moved here in 1995. His father, Tom Sammons, taught architecture at UL Lafayette, and education was strongly emphasized in the Sammons household. Dr. Sammons graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UL Lafayette before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. His connection to UL Lafayette runs deep. As a student, Dr. Sammons was active in the pre-professional society, student government and honor society, and participated in Up 'til Dawn, which supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He says UL is where he truly found his community in Lafayette. Today, that sense of community remains important. Dr. Sammons and his wife, Abby, both grew up here and even attended the same church, where Abby's father once taught him in Sunday school. Their parents live nearby, and Dr. Sammons and Abby are raising two energetic young sons, Gabriel and Everett. “I love being with them. I love being with my family.” A Childhood Spent in the Dental Chair Led to a Career Dr. Sammon’s decision to become a dentist was shaped in part by his own difficult dental history. His permanent teeth erupted with enamel hypoplasia, leaving them soft and yellow and requiring extensive dental work. He also admits he did not take particularly good care of his teeth as a teenager. Fortunately, he had dentists he genuinely liked, Drs. Thomas and Harmon in Youngsville. “I actually loved my dentist. I didn't like being in the dental chair, but I liked him,” Tom recalled. For years, Tom thought he would become an engineer. Then he attended orientation at UL Lafayette, toured the engineering program and abruptly announced to his parents that he was going to become a dentist. The more he learned about dentistry, the more certain he became that he had found the right profession. That personal history also helps explain the empathy Dr. Sammons brings to patients who fear dental treatment. He discovered early in his career that many people had experienced frightening or painful dental care as children. For some patients, he says, simply opening the front door of a dental office can feel like “a very heavy weight.” When Dr. Sammons joined the practice of longtime Lafayette dentist Dr. Ann Laurent, he found a mentor whose philosophy closely matched his own. Dr. Laurent had built a practice around caring for patients with dental anxiety and treating their fears with empathy. “It's not the most fun place to be. I understand that,” Dr. Sammons said of the dental chair. “It doesn't have to be the worst place to be. We can make it comfortable. We can make it fun.” That philosophy is reflected throughout Lafayette Dental Artistry. Patients who need additional help with anxiety can receive nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, at no additional charge. The practice also offers oral sedation and, when appropriate, IV sedation administered with a nurse anesthetist. Your Mouth Is Connected to the Rest of Your Body One of Dr. Sammon's strongest messages is that oral health should never be viewed in isolation. “The mouth is also connected to the whole body. It is systemic health. It is not just oral health.” Dr. Sammons and his team spend considerable time educating patients about brushing, flossing, diet and the habits that contribute to dental disease. Chronic infection and inflammation in the mouth can have consequences beyond the teeth and gums, and periodontal disease can progress without causing significant pain. One of the biggest misconceptions Dr. Sammons sees today involves sugar-free beverages. Eliminating sugar does not necessarily make a drink tooth-friendly because acidity can damage enamel. “Acid is worse,” he explained. Energy drinks, soft drinks, coffee and other acidic beverages can create an environment that promotes enamel erosion and decay. Dr. Sammons explained that when bacteria consume sugar, they produce acid, but drinking an already acidic beverage exposes teeth directly to that damaging environment. He sees the consequences particularly among younger patients. Someone can leave high school with few or no cavities, head to college, develop a habit of consuming energy drinks throughout the day, and return with significant decay. The problem is compounded when a person sips the beverage over several hours. After each exposure, saliva needs time to buffer the acidic environment. Dr. Sammons’ advice includes limiting acidic drinks, drinking water and, for some patients, using an alkaline mouth rinse. He also discussed products containing xylitol as another tool for fighting cavity-causing bacteria. Lafayette Dental Artistry provides comprehensive care ranging from preventive dentistry to full-mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers, bonding, implants, bridges and clear aligner therapy. Dr. Sammons particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry and clear aligners. In some complex cases, moving the teeth into a better position before restorative work can dramatically reduce the number of crowns or veneers a patient needs. “The less I do is more in a lot of ways. The best dentistry is no dentistry. The second best dentistry is preventative dentistry.” His goal is to perform dentistry today that prevents larger problems tomorrow. That philosophy becomes especially meaningful when patients arrive after years of avoiding dental care because of fear, embarrassment, finances or difficult life circumstances. Dr. Sammons has watched patients regain not only their oral health but their confidence. After restoring a person's smile, he may see them six months later having made other changes: exercising, losing weight, quitting smoking or simply taking better care of themselves. “It changes their whole life. It changes their whole trajectory.” Dentistry's Role in Sleep Health Dentists are playing a growing role in recognizing potential sleep disorders. Because dentists routinely examine the mouth, jaw and airway, they may see signs that suggest a patient should be evaluated for sleep apnea. Lafayette Dental Artistry has equipment patients can take home for a sleep study, although Dr. Sammons emphasized that a medical doctor reads the study and makes the diagnosis. For appropriate patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea, a dental appliance may help keep the airway open by positioning the jaw forward. More severe cases generally require CPAP therapy. Implantable airway-stimulation devices are an option for some patients who cannot tolerate either CPAP or a dental appliance; those devices are placed by specialists. Dr. Sammons also uses Botox primarily as a therapeutic treatment for patients suffering from TMD, often called TMJ, including people who clench their jaws and develop muscle pain and headaches. While he occasionally uses Botox cosmetically, his primary interest is relieving pain and muscle tension. More Than 100 Hours a Year of Continuing Education Louisiana dentists are required to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years. Dr. Sammons regularly pursues more than 100 hours annually. Why? “I'm just a huge nerd. I love it. I love to learn.” That appetite for learning has helped him incorporate rapidly changing technology into his practice, including digital scanning, same-day crowns, 3D printing and digitally created surgical guides for implant procedures. Approximately 99 % of the impressions in his practice are now digital. A tooth can be scanned, the crown designed virtually, milled in the office and placed in the patient's mouth the same day. For anxious patients, avoiding a temporary crown, a second appointment and another injection can make an enormous difference. Artificial intelligence is also becoming part of the practice. Dr. Sammons uses AI with digital X-rays to help identify possible cavities, bone loss and calculus. He views it as an additional set of eyes rather than a replacement for professional judgment. The technology is also a powerful educational tool. Instead of asking patients to decipher shades of gray on an X-ray, the software can highlight areas of concern, making it easier for patients to understand what the team members of Dental Artistry are seeing. “It's kind of like a second set of eyes,” he explained, noting that the technology can occasionally flag a tiny area that deserves a closer look. Lafayette Dental Artistry Is Growing Lafayette Dental Artistry is preparing for a major renovation and expansion of its longtime office. Dr. Sammons discussed the reality that modern digital dentistry requires different spaces for equipment, laboratories and treatment areas than were needed when the original office was built. During construction, the practice will temporarily relocate about five minutes away while the existing office is rebuilt. The temporary move is expected to last approximately nine months. The goal is to create a more modern environment while preserving what patients already value about the practice: comfort, relaxation and personal attention. And Dr. Ann Laurent remains very much a part of the practice. “She's been an amazing mentor to me, both as a clinician and also just as a leader.” Dr. Laurent continues to see patients while enjoying a little more time to travel. Dentist, Business Owner, Husband and Dad Running a dental practice also means running a small business, something Dr. Sammons jokes can be difficult “when you got your fingers in people's mouths.” He generally treats patients Monday through Thursday and reserves Fridays for administrative work, meetings and catching up on the business side of the practice. He made a commitment to himself to leave the office on time whenever possible so he can be home with Abby and their boys. His days start early, often around 3:30 a.m., with quiet time followed by a workout or swimming. When he does find spare time, Dr. Sammons loves to read, alternating between science fiction or fantasy and books on business, professional development and self-improvement. He enjoys movies, working out and swimming, but these days much of his free time is devoted to his sons. That means building blocks, jumping on the trampoline and, much to his delight, a recent family discovery of Legos. “I love doing Legos.” Perhaps the most revealing part of our conversation was hearing Dr. Sammons describe what makes dentistry rewarding. Sometimes it is as immediate as helping someone who walks into the office after spending a sleepless night with an excruciating toothache. Other times, it is watching someone who has neglected their oral health regain a healthy smile and the confidence that comes with it. “I don't know of many professions…that can do all that. It's so much fun and rewarding to do that. And I really can't imagine doing anything else.” We thank Dr. Thomas Sammons and the entire team at Lafayette Dental Artistry for their support of Discover Lafayette and for their commitment to helping Acadiana residents achieve better oral health while making the dental experience as comfortable and positive as possible. This week, I'm turning the mic over to Audrey Neff, host of True to Form, and replaying the conversation she originally shared with her audience. Audrey put me in the hot seat with the financial questions medical spa owners need to be asking as they grow. A full schedule can still produce weak cash flow, a second location can magnify problems that already exist, and a practice that depends on its owner for every decision will be difficult to scale or sell. Audrey and I connect these issues by following the money from individual treatments through to the long-term value of the business. The Metrics Behind a Financially Healthy Med Spa Free cash flow gives an owner choices. It can fund cash reserves, support a new location, reduce debt, or create an exit opportunity. Producing more of it requires a clear understanding of which treatments fill your schedule and which ones contribute meaningful margin. In this episode, we discuss: Why reviewing a P&L without interpreting it leaves owners with more numbers but very little direction How revenue per hour, margin per treatment, patient retention, and customer lifetime value influence cash flow Why injectables can bring patients through the door while leaving little room for profit when pricing, commissions, and discounts are poorly managed How "Bed Bath and Botox" discounting cuts into an already thin injectable margin The missed retail sales opportunities hiding inside treatment plans and patient conversations Why a med spa should have four to six months of cash reserves before opening a second location How to identify and reduce owner dependency by asking, "What breaks first when I leave?" What buyers examine when calculating enterprise value, including cash flow, owner dependency, customer concentration, and operational risk The Five-Part Financial Playbook Here are the exact steps we use to evaluate a practice's financial health: Core profit: Are your treatments priced to produce healthy margins? Operating profit: Can your budget support the team and infrastructure required to run the practice? Cash flow: What remains after your equipment, debt, taxes, and other obligations are paid? Customer value: Are you retaining patients and increasing the value of those relationships? Enterprise value: Can the practice continue producing reliable cash flow without depending on you? Following the steps in order helps you identify the financial constraint that deserves your attention now instead of trying to fix everything at once. Get your free Playbook here. In this episode of Fill Me In: An Aesthetics Podcast, hosts Jon LeSuer and Nicole Bauer pull back the curtain on the "Wild West" of the aesthetics field. They break down the real clinical differences between high social media follower counts and true clinical competence, react to Hannah Berner's viral Masseter Dysport complication, and explain the anatomy of the risorius muscle and why precision dosing matters.Jon and Nicole also dive deep into the truth behind 2-day weekend injector certification courses, what genuine baseline training and mentorship look like (from cadaver labs to 6-month residencies), medical aesthetics practice oversight, medical director laws across states like NY and NJ, and why live-injection industry conferences like Aesthetic Extender Symposium are essential for career growth. Whether you are a patient looking to safely vet your aesthetic provider or an injector navigating modern aesthetic medicine, this episode delivers unfiltered, clinically backed advice.

Episode Description: Your morning smoothie might be working against you. Your intermittent fasting routine might be dysregulating your hormones. And Botox, from a Chinese medicine perspective, is freezing the very nervous system pathways that keep your skin alive. Dr. Felice Chan is back on Heal Thy Self and this time the conversation happened outside, on a walk, in a rosemary bush. Dr. Felice is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner based in Los Angeles, and she connects dots between ancient medicine and modern biology in a way that stops you mid-sentence. This conversation covers breakfast, fasting, facial acupuncture, Botox, aging, and why everything in the body comes back to nervous system regulation and the rest and digest state. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why cold and blended foods create what Chinese medicine calls dampness in the body, how that slows metabolism and digestion, and what Dr. Felice's own smoothie habit led to after two to three months of daily use • Why most fasting research was done on men, what happens to a woman's cortisol and hormones when she skips breakfast, and the Chinese medicine case for a warm morning meal • The difference between what Botox does to the face neurologically versus what cosmetic acupuncture does, and why one freezes while the other reinvigorates Beauty from the inside out. This is what that actually looks like in practice. You've done the elimination diet. Seen the neurologist. Maybe even considered Botox. It worked for a little while, then it stopped, and you're left wondering what's actually wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you. In this episode, Debbie explains the real reason so many approaches help for a few weeks and then quietly fail, and introduces the framework she calls the inflammation overload loop, the chronic, systemic inflammation running through your nervous system that no single specialist is trained to look at as a whole. In this episode: The three lies you've probably been told about why nothing has worked Why medication and supportive treatments can help in the moment without ever getting you closer to freedom What the inflammation overload loop actually is, and why it explains symptoms that seem to move around, head pounding one week, gut issues or joint pain the next The quiet shift from trying to fix this to just trying to manage it, and why that's not a personal failure Mentioned in this episode: Free Toxins eBook: https://dwvirtualguide.com/free-guide Migraine Breakthrough® Assessment: https://pages.debbiewaidlcoach.com/breakthroughcall-social-7269 If this episode explained something you've never heard connected together before, grab the free eBook on everyday toxins feeding this loop, linked above, and come back next week for episode two, where we walk through the exact three layers Debbie looks at with every client. Dr. Paul explores Botox and other cosmetic options from a health and longevity perspective, covering what works and what to consider.
Not all “filler” is actually doing the same thing—and knowing the difference can save you from booking the wrong injectable. In this installment of The Glossary, we break down the increasingly confusing world of HA fillers, collagen stimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse, and skin boosters like Skinvive, plus why crosslinking matters and how filler differs from Botox and other neuromodulators. We're also getting into reversibility, longevity, leftover filler, and why the treatment you think you want may not be what a great injector recommends. A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense. The Rizzuto Show is back with another funny podcast packed with St. Louis chaos, celebrity gossip, questionable decisions, movie arguments, music trivia, and the sort of stories that make you wonder how we've managed to keep microphones this long. The main event comes straight out of the St. Louis area, where a member golf tournament at WingHaven Country Club reportedly turned into an elaborate hole-in-one caper. According to the story, a golfer told his group that his grandma was in the hospital and he might need to step away for an important phone call. Totally understandable. Very wholesome. Absolutely nothing suspicious happening here. Then the call arrives near a par-three hole.He heads up alone, supposedly hits his tee shot while nobody is watching, and when everyone reaches the green… would you look at that? His ball is IN THE HOLE.A hole-in-one! What a miracle! Grandma must be so proud! There's just one tiny problem: cameras. The crew digs into the allegations that surveillance footage caught the golfer visiting the hole before the round, creating a divot and putting a ball in the cup. Suddenly, Grandma's hospital call becomes one of the most aggressively suspicious excuses in golf history. With reports that the hole-in-one pot may have been around $9,000, the guys debate the most important question: how much money does it take before you're willing to risk becoming the guy who allegedly invented a medical emergency for Grandma to cheat at golf? From there, this funny podcast moves naturally into the next logical subject: whether Jonah Hill could annihilate everyone in a fight.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Toasted ravioli? Obviously. Gooey butter cake? Put some respect on it. The microchip? Apparently Missouri has been doing a little more than deep-frying carbohydrates this whole time. Then Crap on Celebrities arrives with another truckload of entertainment gossip and pop culture commentary. Mark Zuckerberg's massive yacht gets dragged into controversy after a stranded boat reportedly needed help in Alaska. Britney Spears warns fans about a bad Botox experience. The crew gets into movie box-office numbers, Spider-Man, Super Troopers, Bugonia, Weapons and The Dink, because apparently nobody can simply say “I liked the movie” without turning it into a federal hearing. There's also Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave discussing the surprising money she's making on OnlyFans without nudity, Blink-182 heading back into the studio, Five Nights at Freddy's becoming an actual immersive restaurant experience, and a debate over the greatest new wave singers that quickly proves nobody is completely sure where “new wave” begins or ends.Add in Bob Marley's ridiculous Billboard longevity, the biggest-selling albums of all time, celebrity birthdays and the usual collection of side quests, arguments and unnecessary observations, and you've got another daily dose of The Rizzuto Show. It's celebrity news, weird news, St. Louis stories and sarcastic humor crammed into one comedy podcast — because apparently discussing an alleged fake hole-in-one for this long is considered a profession.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Rizzuto is back from France, which means it's finally time to answer the question nobody asked: Can one man visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world and still come home with enough complaints to fill a morning show? Oui.An Amber Alert that woke up half the city before taking a bizarre turn, plus Scott's live music adventure at Copper Fire, where the performance went great once the minor technical issue of the speakers actually producing sound was finally addressed. We also learn that Rizzuto is approaching the end of age 47, supposedly the happiest year of his life. Great news to discover right before it expires. Then comes important local Italian-American business: the world's oldest ravioli maker is opening its first U.S. manufacturing facility in St. Charles. Naturally, Rizzuto immediately begins wondering why his invitation to the ribbon cutting hasn't arrived. If there's a giant ravioli involved and this man isn't allowed to emerge from it holding an oversized pizza cutter, then frankly, what are we even doing here? There are positives. The Paris Catacombs were incredible, featuring the bones of millions of people and the mildly unsettling realization that apparently enough tourists try to steal human remains that bags need to be checked on the way out. A nighttime river cruise delivered gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower. There were baguettes. There was an absolutely elite steak sandwich. And yes, Paris itself occasionally managed to impress our extremely difficult international correspondent. One cab driver takes the scenic interpretation of “wrong direction,” keeps the meter running, and eventually gets into a heated French argument with Rizz.Travel chaos continues with a kid refusing to buckle a seatbelt and helping get an entire flight canceled overnight. From there, we examine airport security and the long-running liquid restrictions that have forced generations of travelers to choose between personal hygiene and bringing enough shampoo to survive Tuesday.A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Texting, remote work, apps, online ordering, and our collective desire to avoid asking strangers how their day is going may be slowly murdering small talk. Naturally, this turns into a debate over whether small talk is an important social skill or just an obstacle standing between you and the salad you ordered downstairs.Moon admits that talking to strangers has basically become his personal training regimen, Rafe defends the lost art of actually communicating with another human being, Scott brings the small-town friendliness, and Rizz is patiently waiting for telepathy so he can stop participating altogether.First up: is having roommates a romantic deal breaker? A dating trend suggests some singles see living alone as proof that you've got your life together financially and personally. That raises the obvious question: do men and women judge this the same way? Rafe has some thoughts, including exactly how much questionable housekeeping a man might overlook when he finds someone attractive. We regret to inform you the answer is: quite a bit.A 29-year-old comedian and influencer went viral after canceling a first date with a 38-year-old finance guy because his restaurant selection was too casual. Her argument? The restaurant a potential partner chooses says something about compatibility, lifestyle, and effort. The show's counterargument quickly becomes slightly less scientific: what exactly qualifies someone as “Chili's material”?Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Fabricated report triggered Amber Alert, 1-year-old boy was never in dangerWorld's oldest ravioli maker opening first US facility in St. CharlesWinter Weather Predictions 2026–2027: What's Shaping Winter So Far?Porter Flight Canceled After Toddler Blocked by YYJ Curfew: What Stranded Passengers Are OwedHe faked a hole in one.
