In this episode I dive into the complexities of parenting, especially those moments when our kids' behavior makes us question how well we're really doing. I talk about how things like loudness, pickiness, and being outspoken are actually signs that our children feel safe and supported. I encourage parents to see these traits as proof that they've created an environment where their kids feel seen, heard, and confident. More than anything, I remind myself, and other parents, that showing up and being present matters far more than chasing perfection. We've teamed up with Spring Energy Australia to fuel your training and racing.Use code RUNNINGDEEPENERGY at checkout for orders over $60 and get 4 FREE gels added to your order.

In this episode, licensed therapist and organizational consultant Amanda Gilchrist joins us to explore what real support looks like in a hyper-stimulated world. Amanda flips the script on “helping” by reminding us that it's not a leader's—or a therapist's—job to hand out answers. It's to guide, facilitate, and create space so people can hear their own wisdom. We dig into self-investment, the difference between a state change and a trait change, and why trust in ourselves is the foundation for any lasting transformation. We also get practical about presence: how to set boundaries without guilt, why “giving 100%” looks different on different days, and how attunement—not performance—builds healthier relationships at home and at work. If you've ever felt pressure to do it perfectly, this conversation is a permission slip to be intentional instead—show up with what you have, listen for what matters, and let authenticity do the heavy lifting.

I think we'd probably all agree that digital distraction is at an all time high. News from around the world is at our fingertips at a moment's notice. We get real-time updates on, well, everything. We can play any sort of game imaginable anywhere in the world and we can post our own thoughts and musings for anybody to see. Smartphones are truly an incredible innovation, but they come with a cost. Instead of engaging with the world right around us, we engage in a digital world filled with avatars and algorithms. Instead of looking up to God or out to the people directly in front of us, we look down into the screen of a metal rectangle. This past weekend at Saddleback, Pastor Darren Whitehead spoke on his book, The Digital Fast. Darren was kind enough to join this podcast to follow-up on his message. In this episode of THE MENTORS RADIO, Host Tom Loarie talks with Norman Hall, an actor and the last of the Fuller Brush salesmen in America. If you're under 50, you might not know just how iconic the Fuller Brush Company once was. At its peak, Fuller Brush salesmen were household names, trusted faces at the door, and symbols of professionalism and perseverance.

For more than 50 years, Norman walked the streets of San Francisco—not just to sell products, but to build relationships. His extraordinary life and legacy were captured by bestselling author Daniel Pink in the book To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others, as the embodiment of what ethical, effective shoe-leather selling looks like.

But Norman's story doesn't end there. He's also a trained stage actor, a storyteller with grit and grace, and a man who reminds us of what resilience really means in an “ocean of rejection.”

Whether you think of yourself as a salesperson or not, today's conversation will challenge how you think about influence, listening, and the power of presence. In this heartfelt follow-up episode, Megan Hopp returns to Beautiful Behavior—but this time, she's not wearing her professional hat. She's showing up as a mama navigating the unexpected path of parenting a child with a PANDAS diagnosis. After her son's diagnosis, Megan found herself caught in a whirlwind of appointments, protocols, and pressure. But what surprised her most wasn't another treatment plan—it was the transformation that happened when she sloweddown and tuned in. What her son needed most wasn't more “doing.” It was her presence.Together, we explore how presence became their most powerful parenting tool, how play helped rebuild trust, and how letting go of cultural conditioning opened the door to healing—not just for her son, but for their whole family. In this episode, we discuss:*Why a diagnosis was a catalyst for growth*How Megan learned to shift from doing to being*The role of play in rebuilding trust and connection*What happens when children are encouraged to trust their own bodies*How presence—not productivity—can be the most healing medicineWhether you're parenting through a diagnosis, navigating uncertainty, or wondering how to show up more fully for your child, this conversation is a powerful reminder: you don't need to have all the answers. You just need to be there. Megan joined us recently in a powerful conversation from her professional lens. We often think of healing as an individual journey—going inward to process unresolved trauma, grief, and pain from our past. But what about collective trauma, grief, and pain? We rarely consider the healing that must take place beyond ourselves, addressing the unprocessed wounds we carry as a community. True healing requires creating safety both within and around us, allowing us to move beyond our personal experiences and contribute to something greater than our own individual worlds. On today's episode, we're joined by embodiment facilitator, political organizer, therapist, and podcast host, Prentis Hemphill. As the founder of The Embodiment Institute and The Black Embodiment Initiative, and host of Becoming The People, Prentis brings deep wisdom and presence to the conversation. They sit down with Elisabeth and Jennifer for a powerful discussion on healing in community, the role of embodiment in collective transformation, and the challenges of accountability. Prentis also shares invaluable insights on navigating fear, processing collective grief, and staying grounded in truth—especially when sharing your gifts with the world on a larger scale. On Trauma Rewired, often discuss how embodiment and healing requires repetition, practice, and safe spaces. It also takes courage—especially when facilitating collective healing. Prentis embodies this work in a profound way, so don't miss today's episode to hear their insights and much more! Topics discussed in this episode: ● How embodiment unfolds uniquely for each individual ● The healing journey as a shared, communal experience ● Barriers to accountability and how to navigate them ● The nervous system's role in shaping our ability to relate, reflect, and grow ● How Prentis balances visibility with safety and grounding ● The many forms of fear, both individually and collectively ● The impact of being denied the space to grieve ● The dual responsibility—and gift—of inner and collective healing ● Extending grace to others on their healing journeys ● The power of presence and why it matters now more than ever To learn more about The Embodiment Institute check on their website here: https://www.theembodimentinstitute.org/ To learn more about Prentis Hemphill, head to their Instagram page here: https://www.instagram.com/prentishemphill/?hl=en   Learn more about the Neuro-Somatic Intelligence Coaching program and sign up for the fall cohort now! https://www.neurosomaticintelligence.com Get started training your nervous system with our FREE 2-week offer on the Brain Based Membership site: https://www.rewiretrial.com Find Trauma Reiwred on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@TraumaRewired   Connect with us on social media: @trauma.rewired Join the Trauma Rewired Facebook Group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/761101225132846 FREE 1 Year Supply of Vitamin D + 5 Travel Packs from Athletic Greens when you use my exclusive offer: https://www.drinkag1.com/rewired This episode was produced by Podcast Boutique https://www.podcastboutique.com Trauma Rewired podcast is intended to educate and inform but does not constitute medical, psychological or other professional advice or services.
