Sales Tax VacationOhio's sales tax holiday is coming. And that means summer is coming to a close and kids will soon be going back to school. The state's tax-free weekend for school supplies will be from Aug. 5 to Aug. 7 this year. The sales tax rates across northern Ohio range from 6.75% to a high of 8% in Cuyahoga County. The tax break will be for school supplies and some clothing purchases. Here are the basic rules of what will be exempt from sales tax: An item of clothing priced at $75 or less. An item of school supplies priced at $20 or less. An item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less. The Ohio Department of Taxation notes that items that are typically used for trade or a business are not exempt. The state has a wide definition of what it considers to be clothing eligible for the tax break, and some of the items — like a wedding dress as long as it is under the $75 threshold — might surprise you. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2022/07/15/when-ohio-tax-free-weekend-sales-back-to-school-shopping/10066549002/ (More Information) Free Back to School HaircutsBell's Barber Shop is offering free back-to-school haircuts for students at its Stow location. Barbecue is technology that does not border on religion: it is religion. That's not far-fetched. The first barbecue in biblical history ignited a blood war between brothers. To escalate a situation, show up with a dead animal, a grill, and fire starter. Differing opinions about the orthodoxy of all three items and arguments about how to employ them will commence shortly. Barbecue also brings out the best in people. See, there's that religion thing again. If, by the time the carcass hits the grill, feelings are not irreparably damaged or knives drawn, then all anxiety will suddenly and mysteriously subside as if lithium has been released into the atmosphere. Music, beer and horseshoes will emerge from car trunks, and the kids who are not teething will cease to cry. The post Fire & Bones: Kansas City Barbeque appeared first on Living In Beauty.

Cermak Road Ste B2, Berwyn, IL 60402). Let the record show: The food at City Barbeque is amazing. I'm already planning my next visit. I loved it all, but especially the ribs and collard greens. This episode is presented by BOOST MOBILE. City Barbeque's magnificent "Motherload," which includes every imaginable smoked protein. I needed to have the chicken removed from my plate out of necessity. Piqniq on June 30: Marina City is on the bill with AWOLNATION, Dashboard Confessional, Greta Van Fleet and more. The feeling of being part of this year's Piqniq line-up. The Next2Rock competition and Marina City's "mic-drop" moment. "The things that backseat has seen... " Marina City has seen the previous dearth of napkins in the Mazda 3, and planned accordingly. The crisp, clean smell of moist towelettes.  Why our dinner interview could seem like a murder-suicide. The sweet scent of Marina City. Josh Caterer gets more praise for the "Car Con Carne" theme song. More praise for the vinyl format. I'm hooked. Why is the cassette resurgence a thing? The Marina City sound: Pop-smarts and dark edges. "There's no light; it's very very dark and depressing." "It's a payoff when you arrive at the light." "I was like, dang, get it." The collard greens ("we can say we had a vegetable with dinner!") Why Marina City is like a fluffer. The joy that banana pudding brings. "I'm literally just eating to eat right now." A dude sprinted past the car like a criminal. Wait... was he a criminal? The interview lasted forever, only because it took so long to eat all the City Barbeque food. New segment: TRASH RUN! "I look distinguished as I'm eating a mountain of banana pudding in the front seat of my car." The moment when Marina City vocalist Ryan saw my reaction after the band's Next2Rock performance.
