235: Pastor Plek, Catie Sas, and Cody Sparks discuss Sam Teifke's last sermon about obeying the call to share the Gospel and they answer some questions from our listeners.Questions Answered:Sam- you said wives should encourage their husbands. What if the husband is not welcoming if that? They don't want their wife to be apart of their spiritual walkQuick note to Sam on the Sermon this morning - every lady in the room doesn't have a husband to encourage or prompt to share the gospel. Everyone in the room is not married.Seriously? Women support your men in their evangelism? What about us unmarried women? Are we not ALL called to share the gospel? Are we not ALL called at believers to share the good news? 2 Cor 5:20 - We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. Funny, nowhere does it say men only. What was Sam's Biblical standing behind telling us women to support our men. I agree with setting money aside to advance the lords kingdom however I believe in seeking generational wealth for myself and my family. My question is how does the lord see my aspiration for wealth? 211: In this episode Pastor Plek, Catie Sas, and Cody Sparks tackle the topics of Contraception and Family Planning.Questions answered:As Christians, we are called to live in accordance with God's will and not our own will. With that said, how can we justify the use of contraceptives, birth control, onanism, even natural family planning within marriage? Isn't any attempt to prevent conception an example of us acting in our own will instead of God's? Children are a blessing from the Lord, and they are blessings that not everyone can receive. Should those of us that can conceive not take that gift for granted? Should we be open to the possibility of life in every loving conjugal act within marriage? If we aren't, are we saying that we know more than God as to what's best for us and our families? Some might say that this is just strict Catholic doctrine that doesn't apply to all Christians, but it's important to note that up until the 1930s, both Catholics and Protestants were in agreement that contraceptives, birth control, and the like were not permissible. The new stance of Protestants is less than a century old. Scripture did not change in the 30's, so why did the teaching change?Want to submit a question? 204: Pastor Plek, Adrienne Plekenpol. Cody Sparks, and Nicole Troup answer a listener's question about lying to get a job and discuss other job seeking advice.Question answered:I have a friend who is in Medical Sales. He works for a company that is going to start hiring for an assistant for his position. Basically the position would entail going to clinics and teaching the staff there how to use a heart monitoring device and giving excellent customer service. My friend wants me to apply for it because he thinks I'd do the job really well. The job pays extremely well. The issue I'm having is that the company wants someone who is from the medical field. Who's worked in heart clinics specifically. I do not have that experience. My friend is willing to even lie to his boss about how he and I worked together in a clinic here in Austin. Part of me wants to jump at the opportunity to make a better life for myself. The other part of me, well, I've never lied to get a job. I know the right thing, isn't to lie. But I've been really struggling financially, and this job would help me a lot. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.Want to submit a question?
