Escaping Our Fallen Nature by David PiperAs the fall of this tree following an ordinary weather event surprised its community, revealing that the roots beneath the surface had decayed, the minor turbulences in our own lives will often reveal that the foundation on which we have built our lives has severe deterioration just beneath the surface also. It is when we come to realize that our falling flat on our faces was caused by our corrupt hearts that many of us will then look outside of ourselves for an escape. The scripturally based explanations in this book, plus the stories of how God always provides a way of escape, inspires us to acknowledge the only way of us successfully escaping our fallen nature is exchanging it for a new one. Escaping Our Fallen Nature will challenge us to examine our hearts to see if we have this new nature, and if we do, discerning which one is in control. While exposing the lies that have hindered us from getting free, this book will cause us to appreciate our new nature's ability to generate a power that will outlast our troubles, defeat our temptations, erupt our joy, and grow our assurance of eternal life. For the last 25 years Mr. Piper has been working as a prayer partner for the Crossroads' TV program 100 Huntley Street. Prior to that, he pastored churches in 4 provinces in Western Canada over an 11-year period. He and his wife have a married son and two grandchildren. https://www.amazon.com/Escaping-Fallen-Nature-David-Piper-ebook/dp/B09YKSLDK8/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2KGCULL5O1Z3I&keywords=ESCAPING+OUR+FALLEN+NATURE&qid=1669753219&s=books&sprefix=escaping+our+fallen+nature%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C554&sr=1-1https://www.escapingourfallennature.com/http://www.booksidepress.com/http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/12822bsp.mp3

October 1941. Twenty-one-year-old Alan Mart is posted to India and taken under the wing of the dogmatic, overbearing Acting-Captain Sam Holl. Following the Japanese advance on Singapore, the men are deployed to Malaya. What follows is a quietly shattering and searingly authentic depiction of the claustrophobia of jungle warfare and the indiscriminate nature of conflict. Based on David Piper's own wartime experience in South East Asia, this new edition of a 1959 classic includes a contextual introduction from IWM which sheds new light on the dramatic true events that so influenced its author.

This last week in Oregon sports had zero chill. Oregon dropped the biggest lead in the history of college football bowl games. Also, Oregon basketball lost the PAC-12 opener to Oregon State. Sean and I spend a lot of time looking at the positives coming up. We looked at the roster in terms of who was coming back, projecting some lineups, and Dakota Prukop getting into Oregon without the national media wondering if he can pass a test. We also talk about Pellum moving back to the linebacker coach role, the departure of another linebacker coach, and who we would like to see as the new defensive coordinator. (Hint: Tako hates him) Lastly, we talk about Oregon basketball. Sean posed a question about a year ago on a LOST pod about Dana Altman. Sean, David Piper, and I all came to the conclusion that Dana Altman has surpassed all expectations every year as the head coach at Oregon. So Sean and I are feeling pretty good about this season, especially with Bill Walton making the best calls of all time.
The Steve Schneider Show Podcast: Bartending, Cocktails, Booze and Other BS
In an effort to continue to raise awareness of the March special of The Long Pour at TheBartenderBook.com, and to have a bit of fun, we asked the Global Hendrick's Gin Ambassador, David Piper, to read a passage of the book titled "The 20 Euro Shag" as told by Paul Flair. In this story, Paul visits Romania for a bartending competition and after a few drinks, meets a lovely young lady who offers him a bargain of a lifetime... As far as the book special goes, Episode 5's guest Adam MacDonald is offering a 2 for 1 deal in the month of March 2015. It's quite simply actually, you go to thebartenderbook.com, buy a copy of The Long Pour and he'll ship a second book free of charge. It's a hilarious collection of bartender stories and shouldn't be missed by anyone who has ever stepped behind the bar. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast to get episodes sent directly to your device. Thanks to all for downloading, as we've surpassed 10k downloads in less than 2 months! Introduced by Peter Donaldson, Edited and Mixed at dBs Music'I have written a blasphemous book', said Melville when his novel was first published in 1851, 'and I feel as spotless as the lamb'. Deeply subversive, in almost every way imaginable, Moby-Dick is a virtual, alternative bible - and as such, ripe for reinterpretation in this new world of new media. Out of Dominion was born its bastard child - or perhaps its immaculate conception - the Moby-Dick Big Read: an online version of Melville's magisterial tome: each of its 135 chapters read out aloud, by a mixture of the celebrated and the unknown, to be broadcast online, one new chapter each day, in a sequence of 135 downloads, publicly and freely accessible.Starting 16 September 2012!For more info please go to: www.mobydickbigread.com
On November 8 Dick Lovett hosted a special Ferrari evening in its new showroom just outside Swindon. We say showroom, but really it's a Ferrari mecca. As well as Peter Lovett talking to the crowd about how the dealership started, I sat down with David Piper and Richard Attwood to talk about their careers racing Ferrari sports cars. It's not the full recording, but it will give you a flavour of the evening. As always, Richard and David's stories enlightened us on an era very different from today's. We're then joined by Bo Moos, the former Sun Devil defensive tackle and House of Sparky columnist. He provides awesome insight into why ASU has started the season so well, and breaks down how ASU can (will?) upset the Oregon Ducks on Thursday. In the weekly "Know Your Enemy" segment, we talk to David Piper, editor of AddictedToQuack.com. He gives us an insider look at the always lethal Ducks, and tells us why ASU may be Oregon's toughest test. We follow that with our own detailed breakdown of Thursday's game, including the top match-ups, keys to victory and more.
