The Philadelphia Eagles have one small piece to put in place before camp begins and that is their 4th rd draft pick from Georgia, Kelee Ringo. These days you don't hear about rookie holdouts that often. The last major rookie holdout was Joey Bosa back in 2016 but he was the number 3 overall pick, not a 4th rounder. Is Howie Roseman looking for one more addition before he signs the rookie? Only time will tell. During the week, the NFL blamed both the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs for the slippery field conditions during Super Bowl LVII. It was an unusual stance for the league as both teams' pass rush was neutralized due to the conditions. Do you buy the NFL's stance on this issue? In other Eagles-related news, Devon Allen claims he is one of the fastest receivers in the league, even faster than Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins. Can he get it all together and make the final roster to put those claims to the test? Jordan Mailata is now a married man! A video of him singing at his own wedding has made the rounds. Markus will give his thoughts about Mailata's pipes and Allen's speed.
The NBA should milk the Damian Lillard decision for as long as they can. Jonas and LaVar wonder if Bill Belichick is truly on the hot seat this season. Devon Allen says he's the fastest player in the league but is there a way to know for sure? All that and much more on “You In or Out?”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
An official from the government of Italy contacted Mark Zuckerberg about staging a UFC fight against Elon Musk at the most legendary battleground in the world, Rome's Colosseum. It was a rough day to be a Golden State Warrior on Thursday, while Klay Thompson and Steph Curry were bad on the golf course, Draymond Green showed he's got zero skills when it comes to chugging beer. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, Devon Allen, declares himself the fastest man in the NFL after he clocked a 10.04 time in the 110m hurdles at the USATF event in NYC. Joining Les Bowen today is Jimmy Kempski, who covers the Philadelphia Eagles for PhillyVoice. His path to sportswriting was unconventional — he started writing as a hobby while working on Wall Street. Les and Jimmy will discuss Jimmy's unconventional approach to the Eagles beat, and how Jimmy came to change careers to talk about the NFL. Every summer, Jimmy does a series about how each of the NFC teams in turn, including the Eagles, could end up as a “dumpster fire.” This is the week the series runs and we'll delve into Jimmy's conclusions. Devon Allen, the Eagles' speedy wide receiver, was spotted at the NYC Grand Prix running his fastest time at the hurdles. Allen has a tough decision to make, will he stick with the Eagles or will he put his focus on his track career in preparation for next year's Olympics in Paris? Training camp is a few weeks away, with camp kicking off on July 26th. Les and Jimmy give their early training camp storylines. Which rookie will have the biggest impact going into the 2023 season: Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Sydney Brown, or someone else? Who will win the battle for the starting punter position, Arryn Siposs, who has had a lackluster run with the Eagles since replacing Cam Johnston; or will it be the undrafted free agent Ty Zentner, the hero who kicked the game-winner in Kansas State's victory against TCU to win the Big 12 title.

What do you do the day of an Eagles game? Do you do anything specific every week? Tyrone, Hunter, Ricky and Jen talk about theirs. It may not be a big game as far as wins or losses but it is big to be able to see rookies and new additions play in a live game. The Phillies have a huge series against the Mets this weekend. Can they beat the duo of Scherzer and deGrom? (13:58-42:48) Jen introduces today's Twitter poll. On this 1st Football Friday, what's your Eagles football ritual? Your choices are comfort at home, tailgating and bar with friends. The early leader, comfort at home, is blowing the competition away with almost 85% of the vote. The crew weighs in then heads to the phones to hear what you have to say. (42:57-53:59) Former Eagle and co-host of Birds Huddle on NBCSP, Barrett Brooks joins the show. He talks about the mindset of a rookie playing in their first NFL game, what players to look out for tonight, who might see the most action, and more. "I just came into this year, worked my tail off and worked hard. The two goals that I've had, even when we were at New Balance Indoors, I said I wanted to win the World indoor title and I wanted to come back and defend my World outdoor title. That's exactly what I did. To mark those two things off my bucket list and my things to do this season is great." Chris Chavez, Kyle Merber and John Anderson sat down with Grant Holloway on the day after he successfully defended his 110m hurdles world championship gold medal in Eugene, Oregon. The victory came after Olympic champion Hansle Parchment of Jamaica injured himself in the warmup before the final and U.S. star Devon Allen was disqualified for a false start by one-thousandth of a second (His reaction time was .099/The legal limit is .100). US athlete Devon Allen has made global headlines this week after being disqualified from the 110m hurdles final at the World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon. He was judged to have left the starting blocks a thousandth of a second too early. On More or Less we crunch the numbers behind false starts in athletics, asking how quick is too quick when it comes to reacting to a starting gun and whether something else might have gone wrong with the measurement system.

We got really, really excited by astronomy before talking about the historic performances at the Hardrock 100 Miler, physiology that people might not think about enough in high-altitude racing, stories from the World Championships, Devon Allen's infuriating DQ due to a false start, how to think about training for long-term growth, the TV show "The Bear," what we need to do to become the #1 podcast episode in Britain, and reflections spurred by the first James Webb Telescope photos. Things get deep, fast. Then they get shallow even faster. You know how we do it! YES, CHEFS. For a weekly bonus episode (and bi-weekly newsletter), make sure you're subscribed to our Patreon. Devon Allen discusses getting DQ'd from the 110 meter hurdle at the Track World Championship for a false start. And Kevin Millar calls in from MLB All Star week to recap last night's derby and preview tonight's game. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Plus the Jamaican women sweep the 100m again, Katie Nageotte and Sandi Morris go 1-2 in the women's pole vault. We also dive into the semi-finals of the men's 1500m. What a week. The 2022 NCAA championships are in the books and the Joseph Fahnbulleh freight train arrived, Katelyn Tuohy got NCAA title #1, Abby Steiner got some Allyson Felix comparisons - we break it all down. At 110:33 we are joined by the fastest high school 800m runner in the nation (and one of the most confident), Cade Flatt (@FlattCade & IG: @cadeflatt) from tiny Benton Kentucky (population 4,756) before he tries to break Michael Granville's 26-year-old national 800m record of 1:46.45 at this weekend's New Balance Outdoor Nationals at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Cade talks about the record, his unorthodox training (how does a 5 mile week sound?), his confidence, and his desire to race the senior USATF Outdoor nationals this year. Devon Allen shocked the world at the NYC Grand Prix as the US stars were out in full force, Noah Lyles, Sydney McLaughlin, Christian Coleman and Sha'Carri Richardson in her fish net attire. The 50th NY Mini was held. A bonus length podcast to break it all down. Show notes below.
