John 1:1-14 (ESV)The Word Became Flesh1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
On this Christmas Day, Pastor Lester delivers a powerful word on The Gift of Perfect Peace — the peace Jesus came to give, not as the world gives, but as heaven intended. Drawing from the Hebrew word shalom, this message reveals peace as wholeness, rest, harmony, and the very presence of God. Even in a troubled world, you can live free from agitation when you have peace with God before seeking the peace of God. Through the birth of Jesus, God restored His relationship with humanity, making a way for true peace to dwell within us. When you receive the Prince of Peace and remain connected to Him, His peace begins to rule from the inside out. Be encouraged to shake off a defeated mindset, stir up your winning attitude, and rest in the perfect peace God has already given you. #TheGiftOfPerfectPeace #PerfectPeace #PrinceOfPeace #ChristmasMessage #PeaceWithGod #PeaceOfGod #Shalom #FaithInJesus #ChristianSermon #ChristmasDayMessage #PastorLester #HopeInChrist #RestInGod #WinningMindset

Color: White First Reading: Revelation 7:2–17 First Reading: Revelation 7:9–17 Psalm: Psalm 149; antiphon: v. 4 Epistle: 1 John 3:1–3 Gospel: Matthew 5:1–12 Introit: Psalm 31:1, 3, 5; antiphon: Revelation 7:14b Gradual: Revelation 7:14b; Psalm 84:5 Verse: Hebrews 12:1a, 2a Saints Are Blessed in the Eternal Presence of Christ “A great multitude from all tribes and peoples and languages,” cry out “salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne” (Rev. 7:9–17). Faith-filled saints from every place and time with unified voices eternally magnify the Lamb of God. As His beloved children, we too, “shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:1–3). Joined with the throng of angels and a myriad of saints, we shall “serve him day and night in his temple” (Rev. 7:9–17). In our earthly tension vacillating between saint and sinner, faith and doubt, sacred and profane, we earnestly seek Jesus to calm our fears, comfort our spirits, and forgive our sins. The Holy Spirit, through faith in Christ propels us forward, fortifying us in Word and Sacrament, to our eternal home. In the midst of our constant struggle as believers, we need to be blessed. And so we are. The poor in spirit, the meek, the hungry, the thirsty, the merciful, the pure, and the persecuted are all blessed and we will most certainly inherit the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:1–12). Introduction: Happy Father's Day. Today we celebrate dads—young dads with kids in diapers, seasoned dads with kids raising their own kids, grandfathers, and even spiritual fathers in the faith. But I also want to acknowledge that Father's Day can bring mixed emotions. For some, it's a joyful day of family…

Mother's Day Sermon
Join us for a special worship service at First Unitarian Church of Dallas, where we are honored to welcome writer, artist, historian, and activist Aurora Levins Morales as our guest minister. Aurora Levins Morales is a Puerto Rican author, artist, activist, and historian. Her writing and activism persistently imagine a world in which the personal is understood as political and vice versa, the complexities of identity and heritage are explored rather than erased, and structures of oppression (racism, classism, sexism, imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, etc.) are recognized as interlocking, such that they must be simultaneously challenged to be dismantled. Her contributions have been critical to third wave feminism and its evolution, Puerto Rican and Latinx feminism, disability justice, radical Judaism, climate change activism, and grassroots organizing. First Unitarian Church of Dallas is devoted to genuine inclusion, depth and joy, reason and spirit. We have been a voice of progressive religion in Dallas since 1899, working toward a more just and compassionate world in all of what we do. We hope that when you come here your life is made more whole through experiences of love and service, spiritual growth, and an open exploration of the divine.
