Send us a Text Message.Enuff Z'Nuff, a band known for their eclectic mix of power pop and hard rock, emerged from Blue Island, Illinois, in the mid-1980s. Formed by bassist and lead vocalist Chip Z'Nuff and guitarist and vocalist Donnie Vie, the band quickly garnered attention with their vibrant melodies, harmonized vocals, and distinctive glam-rock image. Enuff Z'Nuff's self-titled debut album, released in 1989, featured the hits "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle," both of which received significant airplay on MTV and brought the band into the limelight.Despite the changing tides of musical trends in the 1990s, Enuff Z'Nuff remained resilient, continuing to release a steady stream of albums. Their sound evolved over time, blending elements of psychedelic rock, Beatles-esque harmonies, and the raw edge of early '90s alternative rock. Albums such as "Strength" (1991) and "Animals with Human Intelligence" (1993) showcased their versatility and depth, earning critical acclaim even as mainstream success proved elusive. The band's journey has not been without its trials. Internal conflicts, changes in lineup, and the fluctuating landscape of the music industry posed significant challenges. Donnie Vie departed the band multiple times, leading to various shifts in the band's lineup. Despite these upheavals, Chip Z'Nuff has remained a constant presence, steering the band forward and maintaining its creative output.Enuff Z'Nuff's resilience and commitment to their music are evident in their extensive discography and continued touring. They have released over a dozen studio albums, including "Diamond Boy" (2018), which marked a return to their classic sound with modern influences, and "Brainwashed Generation" (2020), which features a mix of new material and guest appearances by other rock veterans. For fans and newcomers alike, an opportunity to experience Enuff Z'Nuff live is not to be missed. Their energetic performances are known for their blend of nostalgia and contemporary flair, creating an engaging and memorable concert experience. On Friday, June 14th, Enuff Z'Nuff will be bringing their dynamic live show to the Park Hills Underground in Park Hills, Missouri. This performance promises to be a night filled with the band's signature hits and new material, encapsulating their enduring appeal and musical evolution. As they take the stage, attendees can expect a thrilling journey through the band's storied career, filled with powerful rock anthems, infectious pop hooks, and the undeniable charisma of Chip Z'Nuff and his bandmates.www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn www.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

This week on Westwood One's Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon, new interviews with Enuff Z'Nuff's Chip Z'Nuff, Culture Club's Boy George and the mighty Judas Priest's Rob Halford. Former Great White/ Guns N' Roses manager Alan Niven co-hosts and discusses the recent lead singer change in Great White. Our first interview is with the affable Chip Z'Nuff. We discuss the band's latest album Diamond Boy, taking over the vocal duties, being around for nearly 35 years, the upcoming fall tour with Jack Russell's Great White, Guns N' Roses Steven Adler, bad records deals, The M3 Festival, the cost of touring, the Soundcheck Experience, wearing a dress at shows, and much more. During the interview I forget to use the cough button and at Chip's behest I leave it as is for all to hear that blooper. Up next is Culture Club singer Boy George, they will be in Montreal on August 25th playing the Strangers In The Night (strangersinthenight.ca) charity event in support of the West Island's Women Shelter, Lymphoma Canada and the Miriam Foundation. As a supporter of those charities, I felt it was important to do this interview and promote the event. Culture Club's new album LIFE is out October 26th. We also discuss the importance of making new music, continuing as a solo artist and more. And we end this episode with... THE METAL GOD (Rob Halford). We discuss Firepower, the tour with Deep Purple, Andy Sneap's future in the band, Aretha Franklin, Huntress' Jill Janus, mental health and more. Help support the show. Enuff Z' Nuff is a band from the late 80s formed in Chicago by current bass player and vocalist Chip Z' Nuff and former vocalist Donnie Vie, that in my opinion never got a fair shake. They may or may not have contributed to their own trials and tribulations through sex, drugs, alcohol, and bad decisions, but no matter the issues and who was to blame, the bottom line was they wrote freaking great songs. Enuff Z' Nuff had a great mixture of fantastic melodies, huge hooks, lush harmonies, and hard rocking guitars. With a feel straight out of the Beatles catalog, but with their own spin, they were a power pop band at heart that were lumped into the hair metal category with many others from that era. Growin' Up Rock attended a local concert and sat down with Chip Z' Nuff after soundcheck to talk about his and the bands early days. We talk about how a visit to the Howard Stern show changed the path of the band and we get insight into the current band lineup. Chip gives us exciting news about a brand new upcoming release "Diamond Boy" due out in June on Frontiers Records. The band played a fantastic set that night on the bill with Junkyard, and The all female tribute band "The Iron Maidens" Chip looked right at home as the frontman and sounded great singing all the old material. The rest of the band, Tony Fennell: Guitar, Tory Stoffregen: Guitar, and Dan Hill: Drums were tight and all great players in their own right. The Friday night crowd was treated to the following set: Baby Loves You Kiss The Clown Heaven Or Hell In The Groove Solo Section Jean Genie (Bowie Cover) Fly High Michelle New Thing Dog On A Bone Wheels If the band comes to your neighborhood, make sure you get out there and support them and any other killer rock n roll bands that are out there playing each and every night.
