In this Episode of Crue Cast, a podcast is all about the most infamous band in rock history Motley Crue! Jason talks the click bate press making an issue out of Vince Neil using a teleprompter. Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx took his official Twitter account to support his bandmate, Vince Neil, who has drawn attention for using a teleprompter on the stage in a recent show. The Stadium Tour, featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Joan Jett, and Poison, has been finally taking place after several delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bands have been on the road since its kick-off in Cumberland, Georgia, on June 16, 2022. Following Mötley Crüe's show at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 5, as part of the tour, a concertgoer uploaded some video clips of the gig on YouTube, showing Vince Neil using a teleprompter to remember the lyrics of the songs. While some fans criticized the singer for not recalling the classic songs, Neil mostly received support from other rockers who didn't make it a big deal. They indeed criticized the media for presenting it as important news. Nikki Sixx's Twitter post read: “Usual bottom feeder press outlets are trying to make up crap to sell their advertising. Forty-one years of songs, and Vinnie is working on his vocals and delivery of the lyrics. I praise him for working extra hard on this tour. Journalists are usually just scabs making up clickbait.” Dee Snider has offered his opinion on Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil using a teleprompter at the band's live shows, saying he doesn't use one in Twisted Sister as: “I didn't kill a lot of my brain cells with drink and drugs”. Snider was tweeting in response to Headbangers Ball host Riki Rachtman, who was addressing the ridicule Neil has received since footage of him using a teleprompter on the band's ongoing tour in the US for The Stadium Tour was uploaded on social media. Rachtman wrote, “So Motley Crue used a teleprompter. Really who fuckin cares. Did you have fun at the show? That's what matters.” Rachtman continued, “A lot of bands have used teleprompters – STOP looking for reasons to criticize. Recorded vocals an artist not caring is bad, but teleprompters? Who cares?”. The Twisted Sister frontman offered his opinion, tweeting, “True that! MOST bands are using teleprompters. Not me, but I didn't kill a lot of my brain cells with drink and drugs (not a criticism. More of an explanation). STOP being so damn critical and just enjoy seeing the people you love on stage! Now lip-synching is another story!” Mötley Crüe will remain on tour until September, with session drummer Tommy Clufetos helping out along the way due to Tommy Lee having acquired four broken ribs in an injury before the tour. Thank you for listening to Crue Cast!

We interview Nikki Sixx and ask him about The Stadium Tour and how touring is different from back in the day.

So often pilloried and made to be the punchline of heavy metal jokes (Q: Where's the best place to hear a bass solo? A: In the bar/bog), this episode of the Enter Sadmen podcast celebrates the 4-string virtuosos without whom much of the music we love would either not exist at all, or be significantly poorer. The lads were tasked with finding three bass players who each personified their band's sound. It was a remarkably difficult choice, with Geezer Butler, Lemmy, Geddy Lee, Phil Kennemore, JPJ, and Roger Glover all in contention. But in the end, our threesome narrowed the field to an eclectic, but influential trio (whilst also vowing to return to this much-maligned instrument before too much time could pass). Mark kicks off proceedings in 1980 with Iron Maiden's guvnor and chief songwriter, Steve Harris, and the band's self-titled debut; Steve followed suit with Mötley Crüe counterpart Nikki Sixx and their debut, Too Fast For Love; and Richard served up Dave Ellefson, whose effortless genius helped Megadeth to 1990s superstardom courtesy of '92's Countdown To Extinction..
This week, Hayley, Shauna and Nicole welcome writer, sound engineer, graphic novelist and podcaster David Lucarelli to the show. David is the writer and director of Crude: A Completely Unauthorized Play, which is based (in an unauthorized way) on the band Mötley Crüe. The show, currently playing in the Hollywood Fringe Fest, is a funny, loving and moving tribute to the band and especially Nikki Sixx. David also talks about his work as an ADR recorder for numerous movies and television shows, like Hayley's beloved The X-Files, and Fight Club, where Brad Pitt made everyone margaritas. He talks about his graphic novels Tinseltown and The Children's Vampire Hunting Brigade, which Shauna digs because it's like a Scottish version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. David is also in a band and does his own podcast and is giving away tickets to Crude, so listen to the episode and find out how easy it is to win.Find out more about David on his website: https://www.abacabstudios.com/and purchase his novels on his Etsy site: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AbacabStudiosFind out more about Crude at https://www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/6755Thank you to Olympus Games, the home of the Pop Culture Junkie Podcast.Links:Apple Podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pop-culture-junkie/id1536737728Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/7k2pUxzNDBXNCHzFM7EL8WWebsite: www.popculturejunkie.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/PopCultureJunkiePodcastTwitter: @PopJunkiesInstagram: @pop.culturejunkiesEmail: junkies@popculturejunkie.comHayley on Instagram: @thirtynerdythrivingShauna on Twitter: @shaunatrinidadShauna on Instagram: @shaunatrinidadNicole on Instagram: @nicole_eldridgeNicole on Twitter: @naeldridge14Nicole on TikTok: @nicole_eldridgeAlex on Instagram: @alcasnunAlex on Twitter: @alcasnun

Ann Wilson, co-founder of the legendary rock group Heart, joins Glenn Peoples (Billboard) and Jay Gilbert (Label Logic) to talk about the set list from her show at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle, WA on Oct. 13, 2021. Ann played three songs from new album, Fierce Bliss, released on April 29, "Greed," "Black Wing" and a cover of Queen's "Love of My Life." And, of course, she performed a number of Heart favorites, such as "Crazy On You," "Barracuda," "Even It Up" and "Love Alive." "Some make the transition to live and some just don't work," Ann said of her choice of Heart songs from the '70s over other periods. "I think that the Heart songs that are in this set are ones that transfer to live the best." The Neptune Theatre show had a mix of rock standards and icons, including John Lennon's "Isolation," The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," Aerosmith's "Dream On" and Led Zeppelin's "Going to California." After decades of live shows, Ann has a good sense of how to pick songs and choose their order. "You want to give people an experience," she says. "You want to have an experience yourself. And if the set is designed right, it's just like a natural momentum." The show had some surprises, too. Ann led off the show with Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now," which she recorded in 2020. She also played Jeff Buckley's "Forget Her" and "Permission" by Sixx: A.M., the side project of Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx. In this episode, Neeley and Chris review an old article from a 1983 edition of Oui Magazine submitted by a fan of Motley Crue talking about banging underage girls. The guys find the humor in it, but talk about how in today's cancel culture, most would just pretend it was all serious and not at all joking. Saliva is back with their first new music in 4 years. The first track, "Revelation Man," is very personal to singer Bobby Amaru who states, "Revelation man is about a guy who couldn't accept the struggles of his own addictions. He had to hit rock bottom to see the light. When I say “had to die to find a revelation.” I don't mean dying literally but there were moments in my life where I felt like I had. It particularly relates with me because of my sobriety of 3 1/2 years. I went through a lot of things before I got sober. " Saliva will continue to release tracks and ultimately a full album in 2022. The new music has a contemporary feel but sticks to the blue collar roots that their fans love. After acquiring front man Bobby Amaru in 2011, Saliva became infused with new blood, energy, and spirit. The same energy launched Saliva's career in 2001 with the release, _Every Six Seconds – a certified Double Platinum-selling album, containing the hits, “Click Click Boom” and 2002 Grammy nominated, “Your Disease.” Saliva's in-your-face, anthemic writing style continued with a certified Gold-selling album *Back in to Your System_ with hits: “Always,” “Raise Up,” and the Nikki Sixx co-written, “Rest In Pieces.”*

Jeff Keith of Tesla was first exposed to music by his father, who played guitar for a local bar band in Georgetown, CA. After graduating high school, Jeff bought a guitar chord book and learned his favorite Beatles & Rolling Stones songs to play at campfires. He later auditioned & got the gig for the band City Kidd, and they played Top 40 hits with a few of their own songs mixed in. City Kidd was eventually renamed Tesla. Tesla went on tour with Mötley Crüe in 1990, and Nikki Sixx “in a loving, joking way” described Tesla as “a bunch of tomato farmers from Sacramento.” “We were proud to be tomato famers from Sacramento.” Jeff says. Some of his biggest influences are Steven Tyler, Bon Scott, and his favorite band, Foghat. “Foghat, early ZZ Top; all that good stuff. I'm stuck in the 60's and 70's.
“It takes a lot to unlearn all the stuff that we've been taught in the past. It takes some research, but also, you just got to continually work on your head. And I know if you've got a fixed mindset, it's not going to change.” Do you ever think about how words have a big impact on little children? Karen remembers being a 6-year-old girl and how being labeled “overweight” by her doctor led to a lifetime of struggle with weight. And it is totally okay. And it's normal. And it's interesting that our body image does tend to kind of go back and forth and up and down like that. And oftentimes it correlates with how we're feeling about other things in our life."
