With a remarkable track record playing across the United States, as well as being a multi-instrumentalist in numerous genres, it is clear he has a unique perspective when it comes to creating music. Hailing from Parsons, Tennessee, his interest in various instruments started at a young age when he began reading music in kindergarten while also gaining experience in the family band at church. By the late 90s, Scotty began expanding on his knowledge of music genres and branching out to multiple styles such as percussion and classical guitar performance before earning his spot as the band leader of the official NASCAR Rolling Thunder band for an entire season. Shortly after, Scotty collaborated with a new original group and recording artist, Ash Bowers, along with Jason Aldean's label, Broken Bow Records, as well as the sister label, Stoney Creek Records. Originally intended as demos for a future studio recording, the shack became the album's birthplace, resulting in a spare, intimate, and honest collection of songs. Martin recorded the album live and alone, using only two microphones, often pausing to wait for the sound of passing trucks on a nearby busy street or coordinating his recording sessions with the cycles of an oil coil heater during cold nights."Thank God We Left The Garden" marks Jeffrey Martin's fourth full-length album and is set to be released on Portland's renowned Fluff and Gravy Records. He took on the roles of producer and engineer for the album, emphasizing the magic that arose from the unique recording environment, which allowed his voice, guitar, and new songs to come together with a profound sense of honesty. The album's lyrics delve into themes of imperfection, transformation, and spirituality. Martin's warm and candid voice, accompanied primarily by his guitar, creates an atmosphere that feels refreshingly real. He described his singing on this album as a personal exploration, striving to discover the true extent of his abilities with minimal instrumentation. This choice, he believes, was a reaction to the overwhelming pace of modern life, filled with constant news, entertainment, politics, and violence. He aimed to prove that even in today's fast-paced world, simplicity and authenticity still hold value. While "Thank God We Left The Garden" maintains the lyrical weightiness of Martin's previous work, it also brings forth a new sense of kindness and solace, portraying a timeless and generous spirit. The album's title itself reflects Martin's spiritual journey, acknowledging the complexities of religion and celebrating the beauty found in life's messiness. As the son of a pastor, he challenges the traditional notion of human brokenness, proposing that the divine might revel in the mystery of imperfection and failure. This album is best experienced as a cohesive whole, as each song contributes to a broader exploration of life's intricacies, the human experience, and the essence of being alive. Jeffrey Martin's songwriting seamlessly transitions from introspective reflections on his own inner world to compelling narratives about others. His work consistently avoids alienating the listener, instead offering relatable stories and emotions. In conclusion, "Thank God We Left The Garden" is a musical tapestry that craves the listener's undivided attention. It invites us to explore the tangled web of existence, seeking answers to profound questions while celebrating the act of asking. With its warm and genuine sound, this album is a testament to the enduring power of simplicity and authenticity in an increasingly complex world. All equipment used in the making of this video:Shure Sm7b https://amzn.to/3uAMzMAShure Sm58 https://amzn.to/3xlAj4pBoom Arm Desktop Mic Stand https://amzn.to/3rlZtvGMixcast 4 Audio Mixer https://amzn.to/3uD3KgzOneOdio Headphones https://amzn.to/3rK9cwnPig Hog Headphone Extension https://amzn.to/3JxvwiNwww.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn, Everest Counseling, Reynolds Landscaping and Lawncare,From the very moment The Glorious Sons burst onto the music scene, they embodied the essence of rock 'n' roll—embracing creativity, adventure, passion, truth, energy, expression, individuality, and the spirit of community. Hailing from Kingston, Ontario, this band has traversed a tumultuous four-year journey, marked by numerous stops and starts. Their latest offering, "Glory," is an album co-produced by the band's own Brett Emmons and Frederik Thaae, a work that encapsulates the profound artistic vision they've nurtured over the years. This album ignites with a vivid sonic approach and raw, heartfelt lyricism, bearing emotional truths that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.Brett Emmons, the band's lead singer-songwriter, reflects on their evolution: "I think that all this time has allowed us to very slowly hone in on something that just feels a little bit bigger, something a bit more anthemic and celebratory."Like any true rock 'n' roll band, The Glorious Sons spent a significant portion of their journey on the road, from headlining tours to festival performances and even three unforgettable stadium shows supporting legends like The Rolling Stones. More recently, they headlined alongside Pearl Jam at London, England's Hyde Park. The global pandemic brought their touring to a halt, offering the band a rare chance to reflect on their accomplishments. During this period, they composed nearly 40 new songs fueled by the intense emotions and anxieties that arose during the global shutdown. However, as Brett Emmons explains, these tracks didn't align with the band's core narrative:Nevertheless, The Glorious Sons turned adversity into an opportunity for growth. It encouraged them to recalibrate their goals and overarching vision, pushing them to become better producers and embrace their own sensitivities and sentimentality. They realized that they needed assistance and found it in the form of Danish producer, composer, and musician Frederik Thaae, with whom they had previously collaborated on their studio albums.Upon reuniting with Thaae in July 2022 at Brett Emmons' cottage near Kingston, the band felt an immediate sense of belonging. Emmons reminisces, "It just felt like being back at home...Getting that connection back with him was an important feeling for me. It felt like I had a sparring partner again, the way I needed to.""I just wanted it to be huge," Emmons shares. "I wanted it to sound wide open, that feeling of your chest being an open field. I wanted to be unapologetically ambitious."From their inception, The Glorious Sons have achieved the remarkable feat of sounding both familiar and groundbreaking. They have redefined what it means to be a rock 'n' roll band in the modern era. With "Glory," The Glorious Sons have pushed themselves to the brink, creating something meaningful, authentic, and uniquely their own.Brett Emmons sums up their journey: "We spent a long, long time on the hamster wheel when we started out, and now, I want to just take things as they come. For the first time in my life, I feel like the way people receive This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.
