But good news, they’ve changed the rules on knives in the aircraft cabin as of this summer.   If you so desire, you can legally carry through security a 6 cm (2.36”) long blade. That would at least allow you something such as a spyderco ambitious or an ESEE Candiru if you are traveling light and aren’t checking a bag for the trip.  Keep in mind the US still has a total ban on carry-on blades if you are traveling there.
