Welcome back to the beaches of Paradise, which are growing more hellish by the hour. From Brendan and Pieper to Chris and Alanna, this week's two episodes were a nonstop trash fire. The beach is ablaze with drama, the flames of betrayal are licking at our feet, and the smoke of the wrong reasons is filling our lungs. With BIP on the precipice of full collapse into the sea, we're joined by Erin Darke and Daniel Radcliffe. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We get right into it this week because we have to cover four hours of The Bachelorette! We have to go from 8 guys down to 3. We have to talk about a Men Tell All held in a hermetically sealed chamber and a hometown episode held not in anyone’s hometown, but on the same vacant Palm Springs resort where the cast has spent the entire season. And we have to talk about the Top Chef and Bachelorette crossover episode finally happening! Joining us this week to go through all of it is friend of the pod, Erin Darke! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Daniel Radcliffe reached a global audience in the title role of the hugely successful Harry Potter films. He has also appeared on Broadway and in the West End, as well as in over a dozen films since the final part of the Harry Potter series was released in 2011. Born in 1989, the only child of Alan and Marcia Radcliffe, Daniel made his acting debut aged 10 in a BBC adaptation of David Copperfield. The following year he was cast as Harry Potter, and he and his co-stars, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, would spend ten years filming the series. Daniel made a point of taking other roles before it had finished, and he appeared on stage in Peter Shaffer’s play Equus in 2007, a role which involved prolonged full frontal nudity. Since then he has appeared on screen, on stage and on television, playing characters from the beat poet Allen Ginsberg to a cop going undercover as a neo-Nazi, and his recent films include Guns Akimbo and Escape from Pretoria. In the theatre, he is appearing in Samuel Beckett’s Endgame in London. He supports the Trevor Project which works to prevent suicides among LGBTQ youth and which Daniel first became aware of during the Broadway run of Equus in 2008. Daniel has been in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Erin Darke who he met on a film set in 2012. Presenter: Lauren Laverne Producer: Cathy Drysdale

We’re here with our show from The Bell House in Brooklyn! Actress, activist and friend of the pod, Erin Darke joined us on stage to recap the finale of the first season of The Bachelor. Alex Michel has said goodbye to 23 women and now it’s down to two. Who will he choose to spend the rest of his life with? Laidback Amanda, or aloof Trista, who doesn’t seem to be all that into him and will soon go on to be the first ever Bachelorette? That might be a bit of a spoiler. And, since season one never had an After The Final Rose special, we decided to have our own with very special guest, Amanda Marsh Caldwell! Amanda joined us on stage to talk about her time on The Bachelor, her life with Alex after the show and what she’s doing now, as well as play a game with us looking back on her most memorable (and cringeworthy) moments on the show. This week on “Lady Problems,” the MTV News podcast dedicated to pop culture’s treatment of women, Teo Bugbee and Rachel Handler interview Erin Darke, star of the recently and inexplicably canceled Amazon series Good Girls Revolt. Teo and Rachel talk to Erin about the rare experience of working on a woman-centric show, why she thinks Good Girls Revolt was axed so suddenly despite its buzzy first season (hint: It has to do with a roomful of dudes), and the chances of the series being picked up by another network. Later, the three recall their favorite Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds performances, and answer a Lady Problem for a woman whose boyfriend has picked up a bizarre catchphrase.
