Bonnie Wright reflects on reuniting with her on-screen brothers, James and Oliver Phelps, for Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, sharing memories of their sibling-like bond on and off set. She fondly recalls her early days growing up on the Harry Potter set, describing the camaraderie among the young cast and how simple moments, like playing games in the green room or catching up on schoolwork together, shaped her experience as much as the magical premieres and worldwide travel. She explores her approach to judging the baking competition, emphasizing creativity and storytelling, and reveals her favorite magical creatures and baked inspirations. Bonnie delves into her personal journey toward sustainability, the inspiration behind her book Go Gently, and her passion for incorporating eco-friendly habits into daily life.
On this episode of the California Now Podcast, host Soterios Johnson speaks with Pattie Gonia, a critically acclaimed drag queen, musician, environmentalist, and influencer. During their conversation—available on both audio and video platforms—Gonia talks about her sustainable philosophy and passion for inclusivity in the great outdoors. As she points out, “The best environmental work that every single person can do takes who they are and their unique identity and applies it to the unique environments that they care about.” She also discusses some of her most memorable Golden State adventures with our host, ranging from backpacking in Bishop and hiking in the Shasta Cascade to organizing the Pride Festivals for both Yosemite National Park and Truckee. “I got to help throw Pride in Truckee this year, and it was so beautiful to see rural queer people show up and a lot of rural allies show up,” she notes. “I think Truckee has really got it going on.” Gonia then shares the inside scoop on her experience road tripping along the West Coast with Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright. The duo's upcoming TV series, Go Gently, chronicles this trek and is slated to debut in 2025. Gonia also tackles the California Questionnaire, revealing her favorite ways to dine, play, road trip, and splurge in the Golden State.

Bonnie Wright's strong connection to the ocean developed in childhood, when she spent her weekends on the beach on the south coast of England. As an artist, she drew inspiration from the sea—and over time, as she witnessed the beach become ever more littered with trash and erosion and climate change threaten the coastline, she was inspired into activism, too. On the final episode of season 1, she chats with Evanna about her book, Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet, in which she shares approachable tips on how to live more sustainably to empower readers to reduce their environmental impact. For Bonnie, going gently means combining action with care. She reveals how she softened her approach to climate advocacy while writing the book as she came to deeply understand the nuances and complexities of the issue and saw the benefits of giving people space to make their advocacy personal and sustainable. And for Harry Potter fans, Bonnie delves into her love and admiration for Ginny Weasley, the character she played in the movie franchise; how the role shaped who she is today; and why she believes the Weasley family are eco-conscious! Best known for her work as an actress playing Ginny Weasley in all eight of the Harry Potter films, Bonnie Wright has since stepped behind the camera, directing shorts, commercials, and music videos, including projects that have premiered at the Cannes and Tribeca film festivals. Her passion for storytelling has also led her to record several audiobooks. Bonnie is a passionate advocate for ocean health and its link to our own health. Her book Go Gently was published earlier this year and explores practical and tangible ways we can take action for our environment and community. She also launched a YouTube channel examining the same themes as the book in a more intimate and diaristic form. Bonnie is committed to using her platform to further her own education around climate and humanitarian issues and to communicate her findings in an engaging way to her followers. She is an ambassador with Greenpeace, Kiss the Ground, and the Rainforest Alliance. Check out Bonnie's book Go Gently and her accompanying YouTube channel. Follow Bonnie on Instagram and Twitter. Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're looking at casting decisions made for the Harry Potter films. Now, I thought that the casting in Harry Potter was great- across pretty much all of the films, for pretty much all of the roles. There wasn't a single role where I felt that that the actor themself took away from the character- however there were of course some instances in which the film portrayal of the character didn't exactly fit with the book. I.e Bonnie Wright with Ginnie. And while I think that the Harry Potter films did a fantastic job overall, I can't quite say the same for the Fantastic Beasts films, at least the ones we've had so far- they weren't bad, but definitely not as good as Harry Potter.
A strong connection to the ocean, growing up between London and the south coast of England. Harry Potter series. What we can all do in our day to day lives. Climate anxiety. Def.An inspiring and approachable tip-filled guide to changing your habits, living more sustainably, and taking action, by Greenpeace ambassador Bonnie Wright. In Go Gently, Bonnie won't tell you to overhaul your life. Instead, she'll meet you where you are, offering a crash course in climate-related issues along with practical tips, skills, and recipes that can start you on your own best path. She'll show you that small things like educating yourself on which materials can be recycled, and how learning to mend your clothes instead of throwing them away or turning your coffee grounds into an incredible exfoliating scrub, will naturally lead to big-picture thinking and living.

Potterheads and Earth-lovers rejoice, because Bonnie Wright AKA Ginny Weasley is joining Kaitlyn on the pod today to celebrate our planet. Before they dive into Bonnie's vast knowledge on living sustainably, Bonnie shares with Kaitlyn what it was like to star in such a huge role starting at the age of just nine years old. While it might take a minute for Kaitlyn to catch up on all the Harry Potter movies and learn about the best ways to take care of our planet, Bonnie is here to fill KB and the vinos in on steps they can take to learn and invest in the world around us. What if a softer, quieter, open-hearted approach to climate activism is what our planet really needs right now to heal? We are honored to welcome back the infinitely inspiring Bonnie Wright to the podcast. Artist, actress, author, filmmaker, and climate advocate, Bonnie began her career playing Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films and now uses her platform to amplify the importance of environmental health. Since 2017, she has served as an ambassador for Greenpeace, focusing on single-use plastic pollution in our oceans and their connection to the fossil fuel and petrochemical industry. Today we celebrate the release of her new book Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet which offers simple, tangible steps towards reducing our environmental impact and living in harmony with Nature and all Beings. Bonnie and Nitsa discuss Bonnie's intention in writing this book, her personal journey in sustainability, creative process, deadline nourishment, her “go-gently” non-negotiables and the de-programming required to save the planet. Gina sits down to talk with Bonnie Wright who is a director, environmental activist, author, and former actress who played “Ginny” in the Harry Potter movies. She has a deep soul - filled with kindness, humility, and a lot of wisdom. The conversation covered: There is no wrong way to do the right thing. The interconnectedness of all things. Understanding what you need for your mental health versus comparing to others. The environment and mental health are deeply connected. The importance of language and narratives and how we talk to ourselves and the climate crisis. Accountability because we often feel the only place we are accountable is online, but that should actually be the last place we look for validation and accountability. Noticing when it's time to rest and when it's a privilege to rest and pushing through discomfort to take action. Dismantling the idea of being a “Perfect Activist.” The damaging side of the wellness community. The balance of input and output. The balance of listening and taking action. In this guest episode I sit down for a well overdue catch up with my good friend Bonnie Wright. Bonnie and I met many years ago in London and bonded initially over a mutual love of good food and wellbeing, amongst other things. Our journeys have both of course developed since then and evolved in many ways, and Bonnie has been a constant source of inspiration to me over the years in many areas of my life. In this episode, we talk about so many things. We explore Bonnie's journey within the sustainability space and her work contributing to the climate crisis, joining forces such as Greenpeace and Oxfam to initiate great change in the world. We talk about how she first became aware of the issues we increasingly face, as well as the pillars of a simpler, slower lifestyle that she feels we should prioritise in order to become more conscious about our impact on the planet. We also talk about how living sustainably is actually not about living with less, or sacrificing too much, but can be about living with more; just more of the right things. We look at living sustainably whilst still living abundantly, in new and often more joyful ways. We also delve deep into finding balance mentally and physically, how to work from home in a less high-pressure way, the importance of self worth, and how asking for what you want in life is the key to actually, ultimately, getting anywhere. We talk about how to keep going when times are tough or you feel stuck, we talk about knowing when to let go of something that isn't coming easily and we talk about how to have a more open mindset at times, in order to be guided in an even more suitable direction than you perhaps imagined for yourself. The esteemed gentlefolks behind the Shoebox Podcast want to do a quick check in during tough times. First: We hope you're doing well, staying healthy, and keeping afloat during the pandemic. We want you all to know that we love you and are thinking of you. These times are tough, there's no getting around that. Please wash your hands, wear masks, and be extra kind. If you are struggling, we send you love. Beyond that, we feel it imperative to stress that Black Lives Matter and always have. We are individually doing what we can to support the uprisings - protesting, donating, emailing, calling friends and family in and out, and overall attempting to hold employers and retailers and organizations accountable for their actions. We are all of us also looking inward and considering our part in the white supremacist patriarchy that we live in. Again, we send our love to everyone who is struggling right now. And, of course, as a Harry Potter podcast, we felt it our duty to stand up and speak against the most recent hateful and transphobic statements from JKR. It feels important to repeat the words of Bonnie Wright: if HP is a source of love and belonging to you, that love is infinite and there to take without judgement or question. That said, if your heart feels broken and you do not feel safe in this world, we understand. We behind the Shoebox Project Podcast want to make it very clear where we stand: Trans women are women, trans men are men, and non-binary and genderqueer people are cool as fuck. We love you all and welcome you to express yourselves as you feel is right to you and is within your power. Shoebox Project has always been unapologetically queer. Jaida and Rave, the writers, have both spoken out on social media (along with most of the cast) against JKR's hateful rhetoric. In December, Rave tweeted: anyway, in the shoebox project remus is trans. we never talked about it because it was so obvious, next. That is straight from the author's mouth, it's canon, folks. As always, you can reach us on twitter @shoeboxpod or by emailing shoeboxpod@gmail.com Take care of yourselves and take care of each other.
In this supersized episode, we discuss the last 4 chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Aragog, The Chamber of Secrets, The Heir of Slytherin and Dobby's Reward, because we lost 2 episodes of Debbie's audio previously. Whoops! But we have plenty to talk about to make up for it, including terrible anagrams, even worse monsters, and awful villain monologues. Debbie talks about Bonnie Wright and Christian Coulson, as well as the mechanics behind our favorite fantastic beasts. We also discuss the terms of Dumbledore's help in the Chamber and why it might come with more strings than previously thought.Support the show (http://facebook.com/polyjuicepodcast)

We often don't draw a parallel between the effects of climate change and mental health. I sat down with Bonnie Wright to discuss her experiences within her personal and professional life and how she's managed to cope. Bonnie is an actress well known for her early role in the Harry Potter franchise. She has gone on to act, write, direct and produce many other projects in her adult life. What interests me most about Bonnie is her deep passion for environmental activism. She is also fully committed to taking care of her mind and body. We both imagined there must be a correlation between how we take care of our heads and how we do, or do not, take care of our ecosystem.

Bonnie is very involved in environmental activism and dedicates a lot of her time to advocating for sustainability. Listen to us talk about developing a love for film beyond acting, easy ways to live sustainably, and the Harry Potter experience. I started this episode thinking we would be talking about lions, tigers and bears. But we ended up with glial cells, learning and neuroplasticity. Just like in clinic there are often surprising things that show up, and so too it is podcast conversations. In this conversation we start with veterinarian acupuncture. But then take a hard right and go deep into neuroscience, the treatment of pain, nervous system regulation and how medicine is beautiful. I loved our discussion as it ranged from the clinical ‘how-to’s” of working with animals, to the deep science of neurobiology, and all woven together with a sense of inquiry and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the practice of medicine. Head on over to the show notes page for more information about this episode and for links to the resources discussed in the interview.

With estimates that around 12,000 million metric tons of plastic will be in landfills or in our environment by 2050, it's easy to feel like this overwhelming issue is out of our control, but the change actually starts with us as the consumers. You may know Bonnie Wright better as Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter films, but she's much more. Bonnie is an environmental activist and advocate for eliminating single-use plastics, a film director, producer, and screenwriter. Colleen Wachob, co-CEO at mindbodygreen, sat down with Bonnie on the mbg podcast to discuss how she became passionate about reducing her impact on the environment and the simple ways she's cut down on plastic in her life. Growing up, Bonnie spent time on the coast of England with her family and came to love the ocean. She gained inspiration from her surroundings and developed an understanding of nature's cycles. Over time she's seen a cultural shift toward convenience and the subsequent negative impact on the environment. As a surfer who spends a lot of time on the water in California, Bonnie sees the amount of plastic pollution floating in the water and on the beaches. With all of this, she's made it a priority to reduce her plastic consumption. Here are some of the strides she's made that you may want to incorporate into your life. Bonnie emphasizes that these changes did not happen overnight and recommends starting with one category such as beauty products or food containers and then moving to the next. "Even if your choice seems so small and insignificant, it does all connect," she explained. If you're feeling stuck with where to begin, she suggests noticing what self-limiting beliefs may be holding you back. Perhaps you feel like you're not good enough to remember to bring your own water bottle? These are normal ways to feel and are merely thought patterns that have been ingrained in us. To break through some of these, acknowledge that they are thoughts you can overcome and you are more than capable of making choices that support you and the environment.
"Snape kills Dumbledore" is probably the most well-known spoiler in all of modern literature and cinema, right next to the Darth Vader revelation in The Empire Strikes Back. But there's so much more to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince than just that moment, all of which we'll cover in this week's episode. Plus, Dustin gets sorted into his Hogwarts' House, Dustin & Mallie rank the Harry Potter films, and much, much more.Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham-Carter, Bonnie Wright, Jim Broadbent, Michael Gambon, and Alan Rickman. All your Harry Potter dreams just came true in the form of a podcast. That’s right kids, we’re sitting down with Harry Potter’s Bonnie Wright (or Ginny Weasley — depending on which excites you more). Bonnie is much more than the wizard who stole Harry’s heart, she’s also a writer, director, and environmental activist, and, just like her character Ginny, she’s a powerful, independent woman who often speaks her mind. Harry really did choose a good one…
Mischief Managed Podcast: Your recommended dose of Harry Potter nonsense
Embrace the Viscosity Welcome to another episode of Mischief Managed Podcast. Kate is mysteriously absent and that leaves two empty, human-shaped husks, and a very sick Laura. We're doing fine, guys. No need to send help. None, at all. We kick off the episode by talking about the Transfigured Town festival in Blyth, Ontario that we'll be attending THIS WEEKEND! Bonnie Wright will be there and Craig will officially get older. We also make a super cool segue from discussing Evanna Lynch's Dancing with the Stars debut, to our Meet your Messrs question: Which character/actor would you pick as your DWTS partner? Katie has a pity pick, Laura's is good at things, and Craig is in it to win it. Then it's on to our Topic which is all about Lavender Brown. We chat about femininity, casting controversy, and being embarrassing. Next it's on to a Canadian Content Cast Away, a Dead Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that'll drive you off the deep end. Love MMP

The Tribe is magic. The Tribe is love. The Tribe is spirit. The Tribe is playful. The Tribe is expanding. Welcome to the Tribe. Today we’re talking to the amazing person and beautiful soul that is Bonnie Wright. She is a magical, magical being – just as magical and more powerful than she ever was in Harry Potter. And magic is very real. This world is magic, but magic has been lost on this world. We need to learn how to find it and bring it back, but technology and the industrial age has dulled our sensitivities to those energies. But there’s a part of all of us that knows magic is real, and Harry Potter appeals to so many of us because it gives people a sense of holding onto that beautiful spark. Now Bonnie is taking her magical experience + perspective and bringing it to the rest of world as an activist and director. She is affecting the world in big ways, and there’s so so so much we can learn from her. If we want to fix this planet, we have to start with the systems that are imbalancing it. Our waters are polluted, our airs are toxic, and the poisons are in our blood. We have to understand that we are nature, and nature is powerful, so we are powerful too. We have the power to make choices, and as individuals we don’t have to buy into the systems that are broken. Every tiny little thing adds to the shifting energy of this planet. The Tribe is magic. Our website is now live at www.podandprejudice.com. You can listen to the show, read about our team, send us an email, and subscribe to our Patreon all in one spot! Chapter 9: Darcy drops by ALONE, while Lizzy is also alone. Lizzy confronts him about he and the Bingleys leaving Netherfield. Charlotte decides Darcy is in love with Lizzy, and observes him fumbling at gatherings to figure out if it's real. Highlights include a pronunciation correction of Hertfordshire (shout out to friend of the pod Zach, as well as new listener Karin who wrote in post-recording-this-episode), an etymology of the phrase "of course" (available on our Patreon!), the sexiness of scooting a chair, and Darcy playing sports.Chapter 10: Lizzy's special secret walk isn't so secret. Darcy keeps "running into her" on her walk. She also goes for a very informative walk with Fitzy. Lizzy finds out that it wasn't Caroline who ruined Jane's happiness, but DARCY, and tries to figure out why. Highlights include a Darcy-getting-to-know-Lizzy montage, Fitzy SPILLING THE TEA on Darcy, and Lizzy giving herself a headache from crying.Chapter 11: HERE WE GO. Lizzy has a long think about all the reasons she hates Darcy. Then, Darcy arrives to check on her because he heard she has a headache. And then.........................PROPOSAGEDDON. Highlights include hardcore negging, Molly's unwitting spoiler, Lizzy listing every single reason why she has ever hated Darcy, just. just. just. so many zingers. Y'all. It's WILD. Some Shakespearean text analysis, and then Lizzy cries again. Jane Austen is brilliant. Study Questions: Topics include how this proposal is similar and different to her prior proposal experience, Nick Miller as Mr. Darcy, did Lizzy's words reach Darcy?, Darcy as the agent of Jane's misery, Georgie Darcy, the most famous scene in Jane Austen's works and why it's the best.Funniest quote: "She felt all the perverseness of the mischance that should bring him where no one else was brought, and, to prevent its ever happening again, took care to inform him at first that it was a favorite haunt of hers. How it could occur a second time, therefore, was very odd! Yet it did, and even a third."Questions moving forward: How does this affect the Bingley/Jane situation? What about Georgie?Who wins the chapter: Jane Austen! You wrote a heck of a scene.Glossary of Terms and Phrases:Penance (n): Voluntary self-punishment for having done wrong.Glossary of People: Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, D'arcy Carden, Webcomic Name, The Office, Nick MillerHosted by Molly Burdick and Becca, audio produced by Graham Cook, show art by Torrence Browne.
