We are so honored to have today's guest with us for an inside look at a groundbreaking case in the field of special education litigation. Jack Robinson is a partner and co-founder of Spies, Powers, and Robinson, a law firm located in Denver, Colorado. He took one of the biggest cases in special education all the way to the US Supreme Court in 2017. In Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District, Jack represented a family that sued their school district, claiming it did not provide their autistic son with an adequate education as required by federal law. The monumental Supreme Court ruling in the case raised the standard that schools must meet in educating students with disabilities, potentially impacting millions of students across the country. Show Highlights:How the background on the Endrew F. case actually began with the Supreme Court ruling on the Thompson School District v. Luke P. case in 2008Why the Endrew F. case originated because the child was making no progress or advancement on IEP goals or objectives, along with regressing behaviorWhy it's disheartening when the concept of what's “right for the child” is completely ignoredWhere the state of our education system is right now, with no spirit of collaboration with parents and a predominant “Us vs. Them” mentalityThe basic timeline of the Endrew F. caseHow due process and appeals in special education cases can take years, years, and more yearsLinks/Resources:Contact us on social media or through our website for more information on the IEP Learning Center: www.inclusiveeducationproject.org Thank you for listening! Si & Veronica are ringing in the New Year with episode 247! Kristin Cavallari and Tyler Cameron got cozy for the holiday and it looks like it isn't just an ad campaign thing anymore. Katie Thurston might be back in the reality dating game with a The Circle star. How are we feeling about the upcoming Bachelor season? Some fellow podcasters aren't feeling up to the task. We went through a lot of highs and lows in Bach Nation last year and we recounted a few of our faves. Hannah Brown's villain, Luke P. found his forever girl. Hopefully no podiums were harmed in the making of their relationship. Jesse will be sitting down with the ladies of Zach's season, so we shall see what characters we have to look forward to. (Bachelor talk ends at time marker 29m:37s) RIP to some of the greats, Barbara Walters and Pele. Memphis lost another rapper from their scene in Boo Gangsta. Lil Nas X is back on his trolling game with a fake son. There have been a couple of scary accidents/injuries the past couple days leaving two men in critical condition. Jeremy Renner got into an accident with a snow plow and suffered massive injuries; and currently the sports world is putting their thoughts and prayers behind Damar Hamlin who suffered cardiac arrest on the field of the Monday Night football game. Vee went “Yikes!” to Andrew Tate being arrested for alleged rape, sex trafficking, and organized crime after a Twitter fight with Greta Thunberg. After a 2-month recording hiatus, we're back! Anna and Jordin start the episode by sharing their quaran-tips, including a deep-dive into the 5 Love Languages and how to apply them in a pandemic. We then belatedly dissect the dumpster fire that was Peter's season of The Bachelor: narcissistic Victoria, codependent Peter and his toxic mother Barb, as well as the difference between Madi and Luke P's ultimatums.Stephanie DiPisa, founder of Solara Suncare, calls in to teach us everything about what clean SPF really means. We debunk sunscreen myths, discuss the process of making the shift to clean lifestyle changes, and explore how branding and public relations play a role in entrepreneurship (and how you, too, can use your skills from previous jobs to start new business ventures).Anna closes the episode recommending some products that she claims are changing her life in the feminine health department. To make up for lost time, it's our longest episode yet. To our listeners: if you're struggling during the quarantine, we are here for you. On today's episode, we get to know CrossFit Athlete, Entrepreneur, and former Bachelorette contestant, Luke Parker, on a whole new level. We get pretty real in this interview as we sat down at the 2019 CrossFit Games, just months after his season on the Bachelorette aired. It was pretty controversial season as Luke stood up for his faith and what it means to live it out. As you can imagine, doing so on such a public platform invited both praise and criticism. Regardless of where people stand on how he conducted himself on the show, one thing is true, Luke P. is not where his identity starts or stops. We get into the growth that has happened since the show, and his hopes for the future. One thing we can all take away from this episode is that our past is not our future. It is something we can grow and learn from, but it does not have to define us, regardless of what anyone says or thinks. The most important opinion that matters is God's, and he can use all situations and stories for his glory. If you want to check out what Luke has been up to since the interview, you can find him on Instagram, @luke_parker777, or at The Unbroken Mentality (@unbrokenmentality), the new podcast he launched on developing the champion mindset. His most recent episodes include interviews with Colton Underwood and Cole Sager. As always, if you any questions, please don't hesitate to reach on our website www.faithrxd.org or on social @faithrxd. We'd also love to connect you to a local chapter. Despite physical distancing, our chapters are still holding regular FAITH + FITNESS Events online, as well as various SERVICE Projects. For more details, go to http://www.faithrxd.org/chapters
We begin, not surprisingly, in an airplane hanger in California. Madison pulls Peter aside to half-heartedly ask him not to sleep with any of the women during their upcoming fantasy suite dates. Madison still doesn't tell Peter she's a virgin, and crosses her fingers that Peter really understands. Was this a fair? Is this comparable to what Luke P. did last season to Hannah. Should Peter have understood the clues around “faith” and “purity”? Peter is somewhat annoyed that Madison is trying to control his other two relationships with women that have declared their feelings for him more clearly than Madison. We all know how important that is. (15:00) In Gold Coast, the women are staying in the same suite. Which is at best unkind and at worst downright evil. They all have to experience the walk-of-shame and it didn't really offer anything interesting or extra to the show. It does lead to some very superficial greetings which highlight the awkwardness between the women. Victoria gets real quiet when the topic of hometowns comes up, for good reason. (25:10) Peter, the master of the doofus entrance, shines in this episode with a bad Australian accent. He takes Hannah Ann for the first date. They jet-ski and don't really push their relationship forward in any real meaningful way. Except for the fantasy suite part and Hannah Ann saying she's basically okay with Peter sleeping with the other women. (28:40) The Bachelor is looking for seniors looking for love. Sean and Tiff love the idea of non-Instagrammers looking for love. Sean pitches an additional “This is 30” season, too: 30-somethings only. (32:55) Victoria gets the aviation date. Another helicopter ride, but first, Peter wipes the slate clean and doesn't want to look back at any past issues. Victoria fully plans on creating more issues in the future… Victoria opens up about her past, and blames an ex-boyfriend for her inability to process emotions or have any sort of open conversation with Peter about her feelings. This is where Tiff really flexes her Vicky voice imitation muscles. (43:09) And finally, Madison gets her fantasy suite date. This date terrified us due to the incredible heights, and there is no way that we'd participate in this one. Madison and Peter seemed to really enjoy being so close to death, good for them. The date ramps up when Madison tells Peter she's saving herself for marriage, and she also doubles down on her ultimatum. Peter has to admit, without the details, that he has been intimate with someone. Madison and Peter are on the ropes and we finish the episode without a rose ceremony and without any solution to Peter's apology to Madison. Sean and Tiff discuss the fantasy suite episode of The Bachelorette. Peter and Tyler C. (00:00-23:09): These men have opposite experiences. The Windmill makes its premier. Peter opens up and Tyler is the most respectful man in Hannah's dating history, Jed (23:09-39:37): Still fuming from Luke's inclusion in the show, Jed confronts Hannah during their "culture date." They work through it and Jed continues moving up the ranks. Luke P. (39:37-END): In an incredible flame out, Luke decides to "talk about sex" and puts his foot in his mouth multiple times. His true colors shine through. Somewhere Luke S. is laughing because he knew Karma was coming for Luke P. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thecompanionpod/message

Tonight, Hannah proved the old relatable adage true: falling in love can be complicated when 2 of your 19 boyfriends are are creepy, clingy, schemey, slimy weirdos. Two sides of the same coin, Luke P and Cam bother us both equally, and leave us feeling physically unwell for the duration of this week's episode. Garret's a good guy by the way, we never mention him once but definitely want to make that known. www.BachBoys.net
Sean and Tiff catch up on last week's Bachelorette episode where Cam crashes a group date, Tyler C. claps back, Luke P. professes his love, the guys wear speedos, roller skate, and eat chicken nuggets. All while trying to be as bold as possible. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thecompanionpod/message

This week, former The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise cast member Jacqueline Trumbull and TV Guide associate editor Liam Mathews dissect the premiere of Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette. Topics discussed include the tight, zippy pace of the episode (very positive!); concerns about the first impression rose recipient, Luke P., who seems like the kind of guy to have some barely-controlled anger issues; first night one-and-done breakout stars Matt Donald and Joe the Box King, who were both positioned to be the next Grocery Store Joe but only one of whom will be; likable cuties Connor J. and Peter the Pilot; and some JUICY behind-the-scenes gossip about Nick Viall lookalike Luke S. (jk, it's not that juicy, but it's pretty funny).
