Defiance Investments chief strategy officer Brendan Cavanaugh joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion to discuss the physical infrastructure behind AI's continued expansion and why investors may be missing the bigger opportunity. Cavanaugh argued that while most investors focus on AI software and models, the current buildout represents one of the largest physical infrastructure expansions in decades — driving demand for data centres, chip fabrication facilities, grid modernisation and power generation. Electricity, he said, is now the critical constraint. "It's not compute. It's not chips. It is really the sheer demand for power that's creating this entire bottleneck in the AI space." He highlighted the emerging "bring your own energy" model, where data-centre developers build dedicated power plants or mini-grids rather than relying on local utilities, creating potential roles for nuclear, clean energy, fuel cells, industrial batteries and small modular reactors. Cavanaugh outlined the Defiance AI & Power Infrastructure UCITS ETF (AIPO)'s picks-and-shovels investment approach focused on companies supplying infrastructure to the broader AI industry, which could benefit from data-centre construction and upgrades regardless of which technology company ultimately wins the AI race. Most SaaS founders in the messy middle are making the same expensive mistake — building first and validating never. In this episode, Jeff Mains sits down with Corinne Kavanagh, founder of CAC Media & Publishing and former Microsoft Azure Data team contributor (part of a team that drove $500M+ in revenue with 76% YoY growth), to unpack what it actually takes to scale past the growth plateau.Corinne shares why your top-of-funnel obsession may be quietly killing your growth, how to validate demand before writing a single line of code, and why a fractional CMO may be the smartest hire you're not making. She also introduces her CARE re-engagement method, her SaaS Marketing Playbook, and the SCALE framework for building an AI-first marketing department without homogenizing your brand. If your business is growing and suffocating at the same time, this episode is for you.Key Takeaways0:24 — Welcome & episode framing: Why the messy middle is where most SaaS companies stall out3:22 — Guest intro: Corinne Kavanagh, founder of CAC Media, fractional CMO firm for SaaS & tech companies4:10 — Startups vs. enterprise: What big companies do differently — and what smaller companies can learn from retail validation models5:12 — Feature prioritization trap: Why founders rush to build before validating demand, and how to use micro-testing ($5–$10 ad spend) to validate before committing resources15:30 — Pre-development checklist: ICP study → messaging tests → distribution partner conversations → pricing research → competitive analysis17:09 — Competitor vs. customer time allocation: Why founders should be "in all channels" — and how AI tools can automate competitive monitoring23:04 — AI modernization in marketing: Efficiency gains without sacrificing brand authenticity — plus the importance of an AI use policy23:49 — Early churn warning systems: The retention play most SaaS teams ignore — and how to re-engage customers before they leave24:24 — The CARE Method: Corinne's re-engagement framework for growing lifetime value and sealing the leaky bucket25:08 — Account-based marketing (ABM): Why a focused list of 100 ideal accounts beats a massive TAM for execution27:01 — Growth plateaus: How to read your revenue chart — what "bubbles" mean vs. a flat line, and what each signals about your acquisition and retention engines29:48 — Aligning marketing, product & sales: Breaking down the wall between sales and marketing through co-invention, shared messaging, and CMO-level integration40:38 — The SCALE Framework: How to build an AI-first marketing department without producing brand slop45:24 — #1 marketing shift for 2026: Stop running your company — start building systems that run it for youTweetable Quotes"You can beat everyone else to market — but if your customer is not ready and chomping at the bit to buy it, it doesn't matter." — Corinne Kavanagh"Stop thinking about top of funnel only. Retention is half the story, and most SaaS companies are ignoring it." — Corinne Kavanagh"A consultant does a drive-by. They drop strategy and leave. That's not how you actually scale." — Corinne Kavanagh"If you're in the feature rat race, step back. Ask yourself: am I creating a category, or just chasing competitors?" — Corinne Kavanagh"Your marketing team should feel responsible for the P&L — not just the pipeline." — Corinne Kavanagh"Don't give sales a playbook and say 'go sell it.' Alignment has to be co-invention, or no one buys in." — Corinne Kavanagh"The most dangerous thing you can do with your runway right now might be shipping the next great feature." — Jeff Mains"Pretend you have a $200M company. What would you stop doing that you're doing right now?" — Corinne KavanaghSaaS Leadership Lessons1. Validate demand before you build — always. Retail companies won't spin up a new product line without marketplace testing. SaaS founders should apply the same discipline. Run micro-ads ($5–$10), talk to a pre-engagement cohort, and confirm that desire is "fiery enough to click the buy button" before writing a line of code.2. Your leaky bucket is as dangerous as an empty funnel. Pouring money into top-of-funnel while ignoring churn is a losing strategy. Build early churn warning systems using platform data (login frequency, monthly active users) and re-engage customers proactively before they silently leave out the back door.3. Bring marketing into R&D — not just into launch. Marketing shouldn't receive a finished product and be told to "figure out how to message it." A CMO-level voice in early R&D conversations means better competitive analysis, more relevant feature decisions, and messaging that actually lands in the marketplace.4. Break down the wall between sales and marketing. The old grudge match — "sales can't close our leads" vs. "marketing gives us garbage" — is a systems failure. Solve it through collaborative co-invention: shared meetings, shared messaging, and shared accountability for what's working.5. Category creation beats feature competition. If you're in a feature rat race with competitors, you've already lost the game. Step back and ask: how do we position ourselves so far apart from the competition that comparison becomes irrelevant? Companies like WooCommerce and GoDaddy didn't win by having more features — they won by creating new categories.6. Systems are your most important 2026 marketing investment. The #1 shift every SaaS founder needs to make: stop running the machine manually. Build systems around what's consuming your time, project forward to what a 100X customer base would require, and install those systems now. That's what gets you out of the messy middle for good.Guest Resourcescc@cac-media.comhttps://cac-media.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/corinnefss/https://www.instagram.com/corinnecava/https://twitter.com/Corinne_C_WAEpisode SponsorThe Futureproof Series - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfkXKUPZ5xuOqMPR7_gzGybncTtavyR1NThe Captain's KeysSmall Fish, Big Pond – https://smallfishbigpond.com/ Use the promo code ‘SaaSFuel'Champion Leadership Group – https://championleadership.com/SaaS Fuel ResourcesWebsite - https://championleadership.com/Jeff Mains on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffkmains/Twitter - https://twitter.com/jeffkmainsFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/thesaasguy/Instagram - https://instagram.com/jeffkmains

God's Heart For The World, Part 3 - Jordan Cavanaugh
In this episode of John Solomon Reports, New York Congresswoman Claudia Tenney joins the program fresh off the House floor to discuss the rising public backlash against coordinated, “astroturfed” far-left protests and the potentially catastrophic, long-term economic consequences facing deep-blue states. Tenney breaks down her Protect TANF Family Benefits Act, which prevents state governments from raiding federal funds designated for truly needy families to backfill state budgets. She also details her formal inquiry into acting Attorney General Todd Blanche regarding the status of the criminal referral for former New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo over his deadly COVID-19 nursing home directive and false statements to Congress. In the second segment, Shawn Carney, CEO and president of 40 Days for Life, weighs in on the theological identity crisis unfolding within the Democratic Party. Carney reacts to recent statements from the Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico claiming that God supports abortion and that Jesus was silent on the issue. He analyzes how the left's aggressive drift away from biology and common sense on transgender and abortion issues has systematically alienated traditional faith voters ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. Lastly, muscian Mike Cavanaugh discusses his new tribute song, The Voice of an Age, a ballad honoring the legacy and Christian faith of the late conservative figure Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025. Cavanaugh opens up about how Kirk's unfiltered eloquence inspired him to reflect on his own willingness to speak out against modern woke narratives and corporate church silence. What does a Navy SEAL, French Foreign Legionnaire, recovering addict, and high performance coach all have in common? In this episode, they are all the same man Taylor Cavanaugh, and his story will permanently rewire how you think about discipline, failure, and the life you are settling for right now. This is not a highlight reel. This is the raw, unfiltered truth about what it takes to rebuild your life from absolute zero. Taylor went from being kicked out of multiple military branches to becoming one of 13 men who completed SEAL training out of over 400. He went from a fentanyl addiction and homelessness in Hawaii, sitting in a car with a shotgun, to building a thriving coaching business from a French Foreign Legion barracks room. He has earned the right to tell you what discipline really means. In this episode, Shawn and Taylor tear apart the comfortable lies most people tell themselves and replace them with a brutally honest, actionable blueprint for transformation. You will learn why being disciplined-ish is more dangerous than not trying at all, why your rock bottom is actually your greatest asset, and why the people giving you advice have probably never done what you are trying to do. They also go deep on the one morning habit that has become a non-negotiable for both men, how to replace bad habits without leaving a dangerous void, and why radical ownership means owning every mistake as your own fault and is the most empowering decision you will ever make.If you are sitting in a hard place right now and wondering whether things can actually change, this episode is your answer.Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/tcavofficial/Website- https://www.taylorcavanaugh.com/Tune in every Tuesday at 10 AM for another inspiring success story, along with the proven formula to help you achieve your own goals. Episode #207 of the PricePlow Podcast brings together Keely Johnson, VP of Sales and Marketing at Arjuna Natural, and Dr. Jessie Cavanaugh of Nutraceuticals Research Institute for a deep dive into cortisol science and ashwagandha research methodology. Jessie, a Harvard Medical School Clinical Scholars Training Program alumna, just completed what she describes as the first botanical study ever to use timestamped cortisol awakening response (CAR) measurements. The subject: Shoden ashwagandha at 60mg, in a three-arm trial with Shoden, Shoden-R, and placebo. Also joining for her podcast debut is Victoria Johnson, registered nurse and familiar face from the PricePlow Instagram channel, who brings a hands-on clinical angle to the conversation. The episode covers what separates quality nutraceutical research from noise, why cortisol balance matters far more than cortisol suppression, and where Shoden is headed: into beverages, pre-workouts, and potentially women’s multivitamins. Unity is a non-denominational Spiritual Community in Central Oregon. Join us each week for some great music, a little bit of silliness, and a lot of inspirational soul food. All are welcome! This week: Kate Cavanaugh shares, “From Wounding to Wisdom”. What if your pain is not something to overcome—but something to listen to? From Wounding to Wisdom is an invitation to explore suffering as a sacred threshold rather than a problem to fix. In this talk, we'll look at how pain becomes an initiation when met with conscious awareness, compassion, and presence—and how embodied wisdom is born not from avoiding our wounds, but from allowing them to refine us. This offering is for those who sense that their lived experiences, grief, and tenderness are not failures—but doorways into depth, clarity, and true belonging within themselves. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Submit your prayer claims online!: http://bit.ly/prayerclaim Please TXT donations to: (833) 455-1960 or Donate on our website: https://unitycentraloregon.org/donate/ Donate via Paypal: http://bit.ly/donateunitybend More goodness on our website: [www.UnityCentralOregon.org](http://www.unitycentraloregon.org/)

Independent Veteran candidate, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, PhD, ultra-marathon champion, and living kidney donor Matt Cavanaugh is a damn impressive leader. And he joins Independent Americans host Paul Rieckhoff from Colorado's 5th district for an unfiltered, high-energy conversation on why “America is not okay” and why he believes voters are trapped in another “Alien vs. Predator” election where, if either major party wins, the people lose. From NORAD's backyard in the shadow of Pikes Peak, he makes the case that his home turf—majority independent, home to five military bases and Team USA—is the best district in America for an independent veteran Congressional candidate to break through. Cavanaugh explains why his campaign logo features a buffalo and how American bison running straight into the storm became his metaphor for political courage in a district that's ready to send an independent veteran to Congress. He tears into gerrymandering, shutdowns that burned billions, and a political class that left every newborn with six-figure national debt stapled to their birth certificate, while calling for a new generation of “rational vertebrates” with the backbone to stand up for Article One of the Constitution. Matt and Paul also fly into Matt's living kidney donation—why he voluntarily gave a kidney at Walter Reed to a stranger in Seattle, how that transplant chain saved eight lives and saves taxpayers far more than it costs, and how serving others from combat to transplantation to running for office is his answer to these “times that try men's souls.” Paul opens the episode with a rapid-fire breakdown of Trump's marijuana order and “war dividend” troop checks, the Trump–Kennedy Center rename push, the rising risk of war near Venezuela, Ukraine's 1,390th day of full-scale war, and major movement on extremism inside the Coast Guard, plus culture, sports, and hope—from Avatar and SpongeBob to Football Friday picks, polar bears, skiing with kids, and New York City marathon memories. It's a fierce and fun way to close out a wild week. Because every episode of Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff breaks down the most important news stories--and offers light to contrast the heat of other politics and news shows. With artificial intelligence stepping off the laptop and out onto job sites, factory floors, and flight decks, are we preparing students for the AI that sees, senses, and acts in the real world, not just the kind that chats back?Matt Kirchner sits down with Lieutenant General Brian Cavanaugh, USMC (Ret.), CEO of VigilanteX. After decades commanding Marines and integrating emerging tech into national defense, Cavanaugh now leads a company building applied AI platforms at the edge: solar- and Starlink-powered trailers with cameras and compute that monitor sites 24/7 and turn video into real-time safety, security and efficiency intelligence.Together, Matt and Brian unpack what “applied AI” really means across the edge-to-cloud continuum. They discuss AI agents running on the edge, natural language search over video, and systems that close the loop from sensor to decision in seconds. They also explore why simply teaching students to prompt chatbots isn't enough, and how K-12, CTE, and higher education can catch up to a world where AI is baked into every system, every site, and every mission.Listen to learn:How VigilanteX combines solar power, Starlink, cameras, and edge compute into their tech. The difference between AI at the edge and AI in the cloud, and why latency, bandwidth, and resilience matter for safety-critical environments. How AI agents work at the edge, and why they can work faster and more efficiently than humans (freeing up humans to do more interesting work). Why Cavanaugh believes every student should understand how data moves from sensors to the edge, to the cloud, and back into real-time control. What China's national push for AI education signals about global competition and how U.S. educators should respond with applied AI in the classroom.➡️ Watch the Full Episode on YouTube3 Big Takeaways from this Episode:1. AI at the edge is becoming a digital teammate. VigilanteX's platforms use cameras, connectivity, and on-site compute to watch for fall risks, PPE issues, intrusions, and abnormal conditions across construction, manufacturing, logistics, and energy sites. The system flags events in real time, routes the right video to supervisors, and builds a data trail leaders can use to change procedures before accidents happen.2. Edge-to-cloud literacy is a new baseline skill for technical careers. Cavanaugh and Kirchner break down how raw sensor and video data is processed locally, filtered, and then pushed to the cloud for storage, analytics, and dashboards. Understanding where computation lives, what data moves, and how AI agents plug into that pipeline prepares students for roles in automation, OT/IT, robotics, and cyber-physical systems in any industry.3. We need to teach applied AI, not just chatbots. While large language models are powerful, the episode shows how AI is part of the edge-to-cloud continuum. Giving students hands-on experience with autonomous systems, computer vision, and industrial data flows helps them see AI as something they can design, deploy, and govern rather than a black box that only lives in a browser.Find links & more resources on the episode page!
