Pattie Gonia proves why climate action is a total drag, in the most fabulous way possible. From going viral for hiking in high heels, to performing a climate anthem with acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Alaskan Indigenous artist Quinn Christopherson, Wyn Wylie (the artist behind Pattie Gonia's camp, fierce, red wig and marvellous makeup) is on a mission to bring some joy to the fight to protect the planet – and show that 2SLGBTQ+ people are vital to the quest for climate solutions.

[SEGMENT 1-1] Shock and Awe 1 What should we be focused on if we really wanted to change America? We have Democrats on the ropes in all areas of society: Crime; just saw illegals beat down 2 NYPD cops. What better example of Leftism can you find? Defund the Police, take THAT! And how about we revisit building that wall? And what about Affirmative Action: Talk about showcase that monumental fail front and center, look at Fani Willis. Her appearance was a trainwreck. Letitia James will likely get a temporary win, but it will be overturned. Alvin Bragg's case is doomed. The justice system? Forget how Fani Willis is behaving, let's not forget the Bidens. Now we are told that the chief FBI whistleblower is a LIAR? Well we can't have a LIAR in our midst, when the job is to protect the Liar-In-Chief and his family. Super Bowl shooter. Those dang GUNS! All distractions from what? The corrupt Biden family; would you want to investigate fully a business with ties to our enemy, and who is selling influence in our political system. Shouldn't this be JOB ONE? How much scratching around the surface can we do, when we have all the evidence. And now Democrats pretend that our evidence is bogus with this latest farce. More on that in a bit. [SEGMENT 1-2] Shock and Awe 2 [X] SB – Jill Biden blames Trump on border https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/1758170556166197692 Joe and Jill Biden walk in front of a big valentine on the WH lawn after having taken a picture in front of it. As they head towards the WH, Joe asks Jill if they want to get a picture in front of it. She responds, we already did. Inflation through the roof. Or is it? Not according to Biden. Just when you start believing the life that you're living, the Biden administration reports new data. Now you can recalibrate. Data emerges about Covid that doesn't support the government experts, yet no apologies. No recompense for those hurt by the allegations of being anti-vaxxers or spreading disinformation. Even to this day, the Left try to act as if their being BLATANTLY wrong is not their fault. They did their DUTY and trusted the experts. [X] SB – Media mashup Covid do your own research Don't let it dominate your life?! Everyone should be afraid of Covid Won't be free until we look at the acknowledged truth Science is truth. Openly questioning science Do what you are told You are a THREAT! A denier Seek out the scientists. Trust the experts. Do my own research. Roots of this phrase Tased over not wearing mask. Want to KILL them. Don't listen to Trump. But listen to Gates Follow science The government lying about a supposedly deadly disease that cost $6T and we are no more safe than we were previously. Who all is involved in that lie? The border invasion that disrupts every area of our lives… Joe Biden IS old and demented [SEGMENT 1-3] Shock and Awe 3 Atlanta Fani Willis had another chance to make her case. Prosecutors are often frustrated actors, and prone to courtroom theatrics. Fani is no exception. Too bad, as one wag put it 'every time she opens her mouth she admits to another felony.' She really has been promoted above her level of competence. Looks like she, and her case, will be tossed out pretty soon. Of course, to Fani, all of this is a lie, and she is not really on trial here. NY This was another grand theatre performance. Judge Arthur Engoron, who has made quite a few courtroom performances, decided that Trump was guilty (without allowing him a defense or to even speak), and fined him $364 million for 'fraud' and ordered him not to conduct business in NY for three years, nor to use any NY bank for that time. PersecutionThis is really blatant political persecution, trying to bankrupt the opposition and keep them off the ballot. Unlikely that this will hold up on appeal. What is likely is that 'as you treat others, so shall you be treated'. Keep an eye on this judge. At some point, things are not going to go well for him. NYC By the way, the average price for a one-topping pizza in NY now is $34 - thanks to the politicians, illegals, criminals and court system. No wonder people are moving out as fast as they can. Gangs The illegals who attacked the cops and beat them were members of the gang "Tran de Aragua". They were released after a local sanctuary church posted bail for them. (The Venezuelan gang is 'teaming' with MS-13, the animals from El Salvador. Ed) 23 & Me This company has tanked. They collected DNA on millions of people, and now all that data is compromised. Big Tech and various government agencies now have access to all that very personal information, and no restrictions on what they do with it. So much to look forward to... Tranny of the Year This person calls his/her self Pattie Gonia. Looks like the makeup is applied with a trowel. [SEGMENT 1-4] Shock and Awe 4 - Backfire Despite shock and awe, we as conservatives are FEASTING! Two things are about to happen that won't be good for Joe Biden or the Democrats. First, America will learn the truth about how the Biden family used Joe Biden for their individual grifts. Second, Joe Biden will be outed for being a corrupt politician, no different from most of his Democrat cronies. Regarding the latter, Biden's days are numbered. So Leftist elites have authorized the leak of information formerly kept under wraps in the media. Case in point, this article in Politico about Jim Biden's health care scam. Politico explains, In 2017, a hospital operator set out to build a rural health care empire with the help of a Philadelphia-area consultant. The consultant, Jim Biden, had no experience running hospitals. But he did understand the federal government and had ties to labor unions. Perhaps more important, he was the younger brother of Joe Biden. Sound familiar? A Biden family member involving himself in business where he has no experience? What could Jim Biden possibly be selling? I suspect if "investigators" follow the money, there will be a circuitous path that ends with "the big guy" getting his part. The article further explains that Joe Biden understood the finality of his tenure as Obama's VP. The final years of the Obama administration had cemented the former vice president's towering stature in the world of health care, where he had made the fight against cancer a top federal priority and, then, a centerpiece of his legacy-building efforts. For then 67-year-old Jim Biden, the third of four Biden siblings, his ties to his older brother made up much of his pitch as he pursued deals that could help Americore make money from drug rehab, lab testing and even cancer treatment. “This would be a perfect platform to expose my Brothers team to [your] protocol,” Jim Biden wrote to the CEO of a Tampa-area company that controlled licensing rights to an experimental cancer treatment the hospital operator wanted to offer. “Could provide a great opportunity for some real exposure.” Recall that Obama put Joe Biden in charge of curing cancer. How did Biden perform? Like a Biden. I documented how Biden's cancer charity was a scam: The charity took in $4,809,619 in contributions in fiscal years 2017 and 2018, and spent $3,070,301 on payroll in those two years. The group's president, Gregory Simon, raked in $429,850 in fiscal 2018 (July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019), according to the charity's most recent federal tax filings. Simon, a former Pfizer executive and longtime health care lobbyist who headed up the White House's cancer task force in President Barack Obama's administration, saw his salary nearly double from the $224,539 he made in fiscal 2017, tax filings show. With a scam like this, why not introduce the Biden family racket to the health care industry. They could print money. The article continues, The email, obtained by POLITICO from a person close to the company, documents one of the many ways in which Jim Biden invoked his brother's name and clout in the course of his work with Americore, which has since gone bankrupt, wreaking havoc in rural communities in the process. Unearthed email? Joe Biden was vetted, and Democrats knew every detail of his life. The pathological lies. The philandering and sexual assaults. And of course the grifts. Joe Biden has been for sale for decades. After he was hand-picked from the collection of Leftist losers to get shoe-horned as POTUS in the coup of Trump, Biden was given a license to steal. He could fully entrenched himself in his family's larceny, behind the scenes of course. Duplicate email accounts with fake names, multiple bank accounts, and burner phones is how the family operated. Undoubtedly, no legitimate business in America operates like the Biden family businesses. And you can bet if Trump set his businesses up like this, the entire Trump family would be in prison, including Barron. While Leftists focus on Donald Trump's admitted and sanctioned business bankruptcies, they never discuss those of the Bidens. Almost every deal touched by the Bidens ends up in bankruptcy or insolvency of some sort. The bigger the company, the bigger the fall. Americore. Gone. Burisma. Gone. Even the partnership the Biden family had with a Chinese spy who worked for the Chinese Communist Party. Gone. America. GONE! Why would anybody "invest" with the Bidens? The Bidens bring no market expertise to any businesses they pursue. Worse, they suck millions of dollars from the bottom line; yet companies seem anxious to work with them. Back to the email. Th

Kevin McCarthy was voted out as speaker of the House Tuesday, a first in U.S. history. It's now thrown the House and Republican leadership into chaos, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Eight Republicans voted with Democrats to oust McCarthy, and ironically, it was the RINOs who were mad about it. Interim Speaker Patrick McHenry expressed his anger by furiously banging the gavel after announcing McCarthy's ousting. Where was that anger when we were endlessly funding Ukraine? Where was that anger when January 6 political prisoners were being unjustly persecuted? Where is this anger for issues that actually matter to conservatives? The truth is Republicans in the House weren't doing anything, and if this causes a little chaos, then maybe that's exactly what is needed. Who should fill the vacated speakership? There's only one man for the job, and that man is Donald J. Trump. It might sound crazy, but there is a scenario in which Trump could get the position, and reports indicate people have reached out to him about it. If you need more proof, rapper Sexyy Red channeled the voice of the people speaking with Theo Von, saying we need Trump back. Now Sexyy Red's music is garbage and she wants Trump for reasons that aren't great, but the cultural shift is undeniable. A leftist activist and poet was stabbed to death in New York city after trying to reason with a psychopath with a knife at 4 a.m. While the incident is atrocious and we mourn the loss of life, this is what happens when you push Democrat policies and lawlessness in big cities. 5 Things In 15 Minutes The Podcast: Bringing Good Vibes to DEI

This Week's Good Vibes:The National Park Service (NPS) is working to incorporate more Black history into its storytelling about America. This includes considering the establishment of a Black Panther Party National Historical Park, and other new parks in locations related to civil rights, such as the 1964 murders of civil rights workers and the 1955 lynching of Emmett Till. The goal is to establish new national parks that facilitate conversations about race. I'm hopeful that all of these come to fruition so these stories continue to be heard and remembered. The North Face is fighting back against backlash from conservatives for partnering with drag queen Pattie Gonia to promote their "Summer of Pride" event. However, unlike other companies that have faced similar backlash, The North Face is standing by its brand partner and expressing support for LGBTQ+ equality. When other brands have backed down, this response is significant as it demonstrates a commitment to inclusion and sends a message to other businesses about the importance of embracing LGBTQ+ consumers and employees.Mexico has introduced a new policy allowing citizens to identify as nonbinary on their passports, with the option to select "X" as their gender marker. The U.S. and Canada already have this policy in place. This is significant as it demonstrates Mexico's progress in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and the acceptance of gender beyond the binary. The indigenous Muxe of Oaxaca live and are widely accepted in their “third gender.”Texas now has the CROWN Act. The CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) aims to protect individuals from discrimination based on their natural hair in workplaces, schools, and housing policies. This affects mostly Black and Brown folks who have dreadlocks, braids, twists, and other natural hair. These folks are often burdened with the white supremacy standard of "professional” hair. There are about 20 states with this protection. In a strange turnabout, another company which faced recent conservative backlash was Chik-Fil-A, when people realized the company had a Vice President of DEI. The irony is that the fast-food restaurant chain has a history of partnerships with anti-LGBTQ organizations and has been boycotted by many people like me, who love that chicken but go to Popeye's instead. The good news here is that (I hope) Chik-Fil-A is showing some commitment towards greater equity and inclusion…my hope is that it's not lip service, but they haven't released any statements.Call to Action:Read this article and photos about the trans joy on display at the Trans Youth Prom outside the U.S. Capitol building last week.To learn more about Nancy, visit: https://www.restartconsult.com/Read the full 5 Things here: https://www.theequalityinstitute.com/equality-insights-blog/pride-amp-joy Join thousands of readers by subscribing to the 5 Things newsletter. The Seafaring Life Of ‘Modern-Day Captain Nemo,' Robert Ballard In 1985, oceanographer Robert Ballard was sent on a secret deep-sea search operative with a very specific mission: to seek two sunken nuclear submarines. Ballard, who by then had explored the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and helped design deep-sea research submersibles, was assigned by the U.S. Navy to investigate and take images of the U.S.S. Thresher and U.S.S. Scorpion. But locating these two wreckages wouldn't bring him to fame—instead, it was another watery grave he would find along the way. After he located the two subs, Ballard had time left in the mission to satiate a hunt he had begun nearly a decade prior: He discovered the R.M.S. Titanic, which sank into the North Atlantic 110 years ago. While the Titanic might be his most publicized finding, the famed marine archaeologist has adventured beneath the waves on more than 150 expeditions that have broadened our understanding of the oceans and the planet. “We think there's probably more history in the deep sea than all of the museums of the world combined—and we're only now opening those doors to those museums,” he says. Ballard's recorded the activity of hydrothermal vents, the ecology of hot springs on the ocean floor, and the diversity of incredible marine creatures. In excerpts from two conversations in the Science Friday archives (originally recorded in 2000 and 2009), Ballard describes the 1985 expedition in which he discovered the wreck of the Titanic. He also discusses the value of combining the efforts of oceanographers, engineers, and social scientists to study the world's deep oceans. Plus, Ballard elaborates on his belief that some undersea finds should be left preserved and protected, and his work in expanding access to ocean research via telepresence and computer links.   Meet The Drag Artists Who Are Making Science More Accessible Each generation has had science communicators who brought a sometimes stuffy, siloed subject into homes, inspiring minds young and old. Late last year, two new drugs joined the lineup of options for high-risk patients who may need extra help fighting COVID-19: Merck's pill molnupiravir, and Pfizer's pill Paxlovid. The two pills join remdesivir, an infusion-only drug, as antiviral compounds that attack the SARS-CoV2 virus in different ways. Ira talks to virologists Ran Swanstrom and Adam Lauring about the fundamentals of antiviral drugs, concerns about molnupiravir's method of mutating the virus to death, and the long drug interaction list for Paxlovid. Wyn Wiley, a.k.a. Pattie Gonia, and Ryan Montgomery are a couple with a shared mission.  As Wyn says, “we are really open to learning new things and messing with systems and trying to change this world.”   Pattie describes themself as a “professional homsexual, queer environmentalist, and drag queen, building community for queer people, allies and our planet.”  Ryan is a record-setting pro ultra-runner who will be competing in the 2022 Western States on a Golden Ticket.  Pattie is a founder and Ryan is a founding member of The Outdoorist Oath, an organization committed to taking action on climate change, actively working to ally all people in the outdoor community, and supporting a connection to the outdoors for everyone. Wyn: “We remind each other all the time that life isn't just the work you do or the sport you do, but it's having a person to spend time with.”  Looking back on the backpacking trips he's done, Wyn has realized that “it's never about the mileage, it's never about all this s*** that I think it is, it's about the people and the love of a thing.”  Ryan has the same perspective on running, which is rare, although as Wyn points out, that may be because “he's fast, so he can run in the daylight while everyone is running in the night time most of the time.” Wyn: “I really look for North Star people in my life.” Wyn credits his chosen family with teaching him about slowing down and enjoying life.  His emotionally-invested friendships have made Ryan examine his own relationships and recognize that in the running community, “oftentimes we have friends that are just our running acquaintances and we only meet up to run and perhaps there's not actually a ton of depth there.”  But he's also come to the conclusion that that can be okay: “you served a purpose in my life and I've learned something and now there's another set of people in my life that have other purposes.” Ryan: “I approached Javelina as a way of just celebrating who I am and just having fun with  my crew and the people around me.” The Javelina Jundred bills itself as “the original 100 mile trail run party” and as such, Ryan says, “it becomes this big celebration of diversity and uniqueness of expression.  As someone who identifies as a queer trail runner who, you know, likes to paint his nails and maybe occasionally wears a crop top when I run, I loved the energy there.”  That energy and the support of his friends helped him to a second place finish with a time of 13:33:52, and secured him a Golden Ticket to the 2022 Western States. Ryan: “Running is a lifestyle for me and second is competition and performance, and I think making sure that I have that mindset as I approach my sport has been fundamental.”  Ryan has seen so many runners who jump into the sport and quickly get burned out because of the pressure from their sponsors to produce results.  He believes that you need to ask yourself why it is that you're running; it shouldn't be just to win a race.  Making it a lifestyle is key to longevity.  “I want to be a 50 year old, a 60 year old, a 70 year old running races still,” he says, “and having that mindset is going to make my sport and myself so much more sustainable." Wyn: “Never for a day underestimate the ability that all of us have to be a voice that other people listen to.”  The current running industry model, they both agree, is antiquated and needs to change.  “The day and age of just sponsoring athletes is done,” Wyn says.  “I'm going to push for dollars to be put behind people who aren't just serving themselves but are serving their communities.” He also encourages people to take action themselves.  “I thought that allyship or advocacy or being a community voice was reserved for people only if they had  a million followers or only if they had a blue checkmark by their name or only if they went to school for this stuff. What I'm seeing allyship and action actually look like is people taking their privileges and talents and skills and unique access to communities and people and truly making change happen.”  To that end, Wyn has founded The Outdoorist Oath, a non-profit that will provide free education on how to activate as an ally and create a community that can help shape the future of the outdoors. Ryan: “If you're passionate about something, you've just got to go ahead and do it yourself and tap the people in your circle that are also passionate about that.” That means using the tools at your disposal, which for many people can mean the privilege that they were born with.  Privilege is often regarded as a bad thing, but Wyn says, “it just means there's a lot less obstacles in my way than another person's way and so what can I do with that?” Wyn: “Look for opportunities to collaborate, to learn from other people.” There's so much that we can learn from others, especially if we're open to diverse voices.  As Wyn points out, “If you read different history books when you grew up, would you maybe understand different perspectives about the world?” Ryan's advice is “when you're met with otherness, when you're met with a difference, lead with curiosity and say, ‘well, why is that?' or ‘tell me more' or you know, ‘tell me more about yourself and why you think that way.'  When we enter a space where we're prohibiting new information from coming in to help us learn and grow is when I think there's something extremely wrong.” Ryan: “I think that it is so much better to build a bridge rather than cause a crack between two people.” Resources: Pattie's Instagram Ryan's Instagram The Outdoorist Oath Instagram The Outdoorist Oath website How to Save a Planet podcast episode with Wyn Jordan's Instagram Alison Desir's Instagram Thank you to Allbirds, Athletic Greens, and InsideTracker for sponsoring this episode. What makes a queer person choose to live in an outdoorsy hot spot instead of an urban gayborhood? A spirited grassroots organization working to make its town a haven for LGBTQ+ nature lovers. Photographer Wyn Wiley, who moonlights as drag queen Pattie Gonia, was living in Nebraska and dreaming of making a move. The most obvious choice was a big city, where queer people often go find their community. But then a group called Out Central Oregon invited Wiley to Bend to host an event on Mount Bachelor called Winter Pride Fest. What they found in Bend was much more than a seasonal party: here was a place with a highly visible queer community. This, Wiley decided, is the place for me and my go-go boots. Environmental Justice Debated / Climate and Senate Races in North Carolina and Georgia / Rapid Ice Melt and Rising Seas / Overcoming Climate Anxiety / Beyond the Headlines / Hiking in 6-Inch Heels The final presidential debate and US Senate races in North Carolina and Georgia underscore the growing climate concerns of voters. The Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets are melting at alarming rates thanks to climate change, and will continue to do so for decades even if the Paris Climate Agreement goals are met. Why their melting necessitates both climate mitigation and adaptation to protect vulnerable coasts. Also, climate disruption is causing deep anxiety, especially for the young people organizing to address it. A new book called A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety lays out strategies for addressing climate-fueled anxieties and moving beyond them to help Gen Z activists envision a resilient future. And a queer environmental activist finds his calling and breaks down barriers with an alter-ego drag queen named "Pattie Gonia". And we have finally arrived at the final episode of the first season of the Wildcast and I am more than thrilled to be sharing this amazing conversation with Wyn Wiley(he)/ Pattie Gonia (she) with all of you. A fitting end to this season and truly a conversation that encapsulates many of the discussions, insights, and people I have shared conversations with over the last 7 months. The outdoors is a masculine place. At least that's what we've been told. In 2018 Wyn Wiley brought to life Pattie Gonia and broke that great wall that has kept the outdoors the bastion of all things macho. "Straight or Gay or everything in between we all have closets to come out of, and that a closet is no place for anyone to be" in many ways the creation of Pattie Gonia was a second coming out for Wyn and was a breaking free for him from the shackles of being a straight passing gay man. Growing up in Nebraska is not what you would imagine Pattie coming from. If anything Pattie should have come from a Seattle, California, or or even Boulder but growing up in Nebraska has also imparted on him lessons that he may not have gotten in the more cosmopolitan settings of where traditional outdoor culture generally arises and those are the lessons she has brought to the forefront of her advocacy creating spaces without judgement, without fear. Making sure that conversations are had and heard, and bringing people in rather than shutting them out which is where the hard work of change occurs. The outdoors for many including myself and Wyn/Pattie Gonia has always been a place for freedom but it also has a few invisible boundaries which keep us from truly being free. What Pattie Gonia created was a space that was leaps and bounds ahead of its time for the outdoor world -which is why it has struck a cord with so many she took a light speed jump when everyone else was taking baby steps forward. It takes people like her, doers to change the conversation in fact to even start to discuss the conversation it takes an incredible amount of bravery to step forward and put yourself out there and Pattie has done just that. She has put herself out there so that others may be brave enough to speak up and show up as well. Now Isn't it amazing what a pair of 6 inch heeled boots can do? I'm happy to say, I'm celebrating my 50th episode today and I couldn't be happier to be sharing it with friend and mover/shaker Wyn Wiley, aka Pattie Gonia. That's right, a long form exclusive interview with your very own backcountry drag queen. If you're not familiar with Pattie, she was born about a year ago from Wyn's creative mind when he dressed in drag for the first time in his life and discovered that the experience brought him alive like he'd never quite felt before. When he posted about the experience, he received major backlash and people he thought were friends vanished from his life, published public slurs and even egged his house. Oh where to even start with all that we covered in this chat. Well first of all, the conversation was so good it went on for quite a long time and so I split it into two parts. In part 1, you will hear the origin story of Pattie and some incredibly insightful ideas for becoming a better ally and saving Mother Earth - or as Pattie likes to call it, Mother Natch. In part 2, we dive into some of the business aspects behind Pattie and the wild ride it's been for Wyn - one that has completely changed his life. As I've reflected on this conversation, I have to say I have so much respect for Wyn for stepping into this journey and for being so humble  along the way. Think about it. How scary is it to put on makeup and high heels and confront the world in your truth even when you know some people will hate you for it, either because they passionately don't agree with it or because they don't think you're doing a good job at it, just to name a few reasons. But Wyn, you decided to move forward anyway and we want you to know that we love you for it. Not only that, but your humility along the way as a self-proclaimed advocate in-progress, is what leaves us all inspired and reminded that we're all on an imperfect journey of self-exploration. One of constant learning and hopefully empathy - for ourselves and others. So thank you for living your truth and sharing it with us.   Show resources
