HOW BIZARRE: Das Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2024 steht bevor! Zum 31. Mal hüllen zehntausende Fans der schwarzen Szene die City in dunklen Brokat und schwere Patschuliwolken. Wir von Heldenstadt, Eurem Leipziger Wohnzimmerpodcast, freuen uns und machen Euch in dieser neuen Folge ready to start: Mit dem grossen HELDENSTADT-QUIZ ZUM WGT! Von Cyber-Goths, The Cure-Spidervideo, Wave-Boy und Goth-Girl, bis hin zu No-Go's bei der Begegnung mit Goths - mit Fragen, die so düster sind, dass man lachen möchte! Als langjährige Trash-Lieberhaber*Innen haben Kim und Denise sich besonders auf die sechste Folge von Null Uhr Eins gefreut: Endlich dürfen die beiden dieses oft noch unterschätzte Prädikat feiern. Dazu bringt Denise den Film "Jennifer's Body" (2009) mit, der sich seit seines Releases vom Flop zum feministischen Kult-Trash-Klassiker gemausert hat. Sie stellt fest, dass Trash, Spaß und (feministischer) Anspruch sich nicht ausschließen müssen. Kim packt die 2014 erschienene Serie "Penny Dreadful" aus, die man als die bunt gemischte Kiosk-Tüte des Gothic-Horrors bezeichnen könnte. Whether it’s the thrashing riffs or either the sampling or the EDM-esque chorus in motion, there is not a second that doesn’t have a catchy sample and jingle part going on. The music is not without its flaws though, some songs are clearly better than others, Not that there is a bad song here. He puts absolutely everything new or remind the listener of past sounds but everything it does, it does well and even great at times. this might as well be the perfect soundtrack for all kind of music. If you're suspicious of this claim, then hijack the jukebox at your local bar or kindly offer to be the DJ at a Halloween party and getting rid of any stylistic barriers to integrated music. The outstanding drums, variety and overall harshness and brevity combining most of the harshest elements of metal with electronic genres, these record creates some outrageously chaotic freak outs from each of its eclectic formula.
