Fotbalul a oferit săptămâna trecută aceste două povești frumoase. În prima aflăm că un sat pescăresc cu mai puțin de 1500 de locuitori dă noua campioană a Suediei, iar în cea de a doua că tinerii din Maroc au făcut minuni la Mondialul sub 20 de ani și au devenit campionii lumii la categoria lor de vârstă. Cele două povești spuse de Tudor Furdui arată încă o dată că în fotbal nimic nu este imposibil:   În Suedia s-a întâmplat ceva nemaivăzut: Micul club din Mjaellby, un cătun din sudul Suediei cu 1485 de locuitori, a câștigat, pentru prima oară în istoria sa  campionatul național de fotbal denumit Allsvenskan.   Fondat în 1939, Mjaellby, al cărui motto este ''Să faci imposibilul posibil'', a ajuns abia la sfârșitul anilor 70 pe prima scenă a fotbalului suedez, unde a jucat în total doar 13 sezoane. Dar 13 pare să fie un număr cu noroc, pentru că în ciuda tuturor șanselor, Mjallby a reușit să se încoroneze campioană cu 3 etape înainte de finalul sezonului în fața unor forțe precum Malmö, Goteborg, Norrkoping, AIK sau Djurgarden, care au împreună nu mai puțin de 79 de titluri! Mai mult, titlul matematic a venit chiar pe terenul lui Goteborg, a doua cea mai titrată echipă suedeză, cu 18 trofee și care era obligată să câștige pentru a-și menține șansele la podium, dar pe care a învins-o cu două goluri marcate încă din prima repriză - pentru că istoria aștepta să fie scrisă.  Cu un lot evaluat puțin sub 17 milioane de euro, Mjallby ar fi pe locul 9 dintr-un total de 16 echipe din punct de vedere al valorii financiare. Mjallby nu are vedete în echipă și nici măcar un antrenor care să fi făcut minuni în trecut pe undeva, pentru că Anders Torstensson se apropie de 60 de ani, nu a jucat fotbal profesionist niciodată și singurele echipe pe care le-a mai antrenat sunt Asarums și Karlskrona în ligile inferioare, plus Mjallby în alte două mandate care nu au durat mai mult de un an. În rest,  în timpul în care nu se ocupa de fotbal lucra în cadrul armatei și era director la o școală. Din 2023 s-a întors însă la Mjallby pentru a treia oară ca principal, iar restul este istorie. Cine ar fi crezut? Nimeni în Suedia, precis toată lumea aștepta căderea, dar colapsul nu a mai venit și povestea s-a încheiat cu un titlu și cu performanța de a fi cea mai mică așezare care dă o campioană în fotbalul european. Mai puțin de 1500 de locuitori! Ok, și atunci cum se umple stadionul de aproximativ 7000 de locuri? Pentru că satul Hallevik aparține de municipalitatea Solvesberg, care are în jur de 18.000 de locuitori și care face parte din regiunea Blekinge, care are la rândul ei aproape 160.000 de locuitori și care nu a dat și probabil nici nu va da vreodată o campioană, pentru că nu are vreun club de fotbal în primele două ligi, în afară de Mjallby.   Chiar înainte de sfârșitul meciului de la Goeteborg, împotriva dublei câștigătoare a Cupa UEFA (în 1982 și 1987), fanii lui Mjaellby - cel puțin o mie dintre ei și-au însoțit favoriții și au încercat să invadeze terenul, iar jocul a fost suspendat temporar. Noroc că partida a fost reluată, iar astfel echipa care în 2018 era în liga a 3-a, azi este campioană și va juca pentru prima dată în cupele europene, direct în Champions League. Myaellby este mândria regiunii, dar mai ales a satului.  Maroc U 20, campioana lumii O altă poveste frumoasă este cea a selecționatei U20 a Marocului, o țară care și-a construit o nouă generație după cea care a scris istorie la ultimul Campionat Mondial disputat în Qatar. Atunci, Maroc a devenit prima țară africană care a ajuns în semifinalele competiției. Acum, tinerii marocani au avut un parcurs de vis la Mondialul U20, unde au devenit campionii lumii la categoria lor de vârstă. Aflați într-o grupă imposibilă cu Spania, Brazilia și Mexic, au învins în primele două meciuri favoritele grupei cu 2-0 și 2-1 și și-au asigurat deja calificarea înaintea meciului cu Mexic pe care l-au cedat la limită. Din acest moment, imposibilul a devenit posibil, exact ca în povestea micuței echipe Mjaellby, devenită campioana Suediei. Maroc U20 a eliminat pe rând Coreea de Sud în optimi și Statele Unite în sferturi pe care le-au învins cu 2-1 și 3-1 și apoi Franța în semifinale de care au trecut la loteria penalty-urilor, iar în marea finală au produs marea surpriză învingând cu 2-0 Argentina, care era marea favorită prezentă în a opta finală din istorie.   Sud-americanii obținuseră victorii pe linie și și-au ironizat de-a lungul turneului toți adversarii. Au făcut-o prin cântece îndreptate către Mexic și Columbia, făcând referire directă la aspecte ale culturii lor. În plus, înainte de ultimul act, au sărbătorit înainte de termen. La final, învingători, jucătorii africani au format un culoar pentru a felicita echipa argentiniană și a-și arăta respectul. Marocanii au arătat lumii întregi nu numai că au fost mai buni pe teren dar și că umilința a triumfat asupra aroganței. Ce poveste cu victorii pe linie... A fost 2-0 cu ambele goluri marcate încă din prima repriză de Yassir Zabiri, un tânăr de 20 de ani legitimat la Famalicao și cotat la aproximativ 600.000 de euro. Zabiri s-a numărat printre cei patru golgeteri ai turneului alături de americanul Benjamin Cremanschi, columbianul Neiser Villarreal și francezul Lucas Michal, fiecare cu câte 5. Totodată, Zabiri a fost desemnat Balonul de Argint al Mondialului, în timp ce colegul său, Othamane Maamma, care i-a pasat decisiv la a doua reușită din marea finală și care a încheiat turneul cu un gol și patru assist-uri, a fost desemnat Balon de Aur. Maamma tocmai a fost cumpărat de Watford de la Montpellier pentru 1,3 milioane de euro și i se întrevede un viitor frumos.

Lauderdale. Jordi Alba cut the aggregate lead to 2-1 early in the first half, but Vancouver broke the match open early in the second half with goals from Brian White and Pedro Vite. Sebastian Berhalter scored the last one to win the night 3-1 and the series 5-1. While lots of focus will be on the failure by Miami to get the job done, everyone needs to be praising this Vancouver team and giving them credit.Berhalter will miss the final due to yellow card accumulation in a rule that Concacaf absolutely must change. It's outdated to have players miss finals due to yellow card accumulation and most competitions have changed when the cards reset to avoid this. Players shouldn't miss finals due to accumulation and it has to change going forward for Concacaf.Inter, who hadn't scored in 3 straight matches while getting knocked out of the Coppa Italia and losing the top spot in Serie A, led twice at Barcelona yesterday in an absolute classic of a semifinal first leg. A goal in 30 seconds was followed up by an acrobatic flying volley by Denzel Dumfries. Barcelona showed all of their quality to come back to level the match before Inter regained the lead at 3-2. Barca came back one more time and it finished 3-3, setting up a must-watch second leg next week in Milan. Lamine Yamal, who isn't even 18 years old yet, showed why he has to be in contention for the Balon d'Or right now with his outrageous goal and overall impact on the match. Simone Inzaghi, Inter's manager, described him as a player who comes along every 50 years. On a day when both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's sides were eliminated in Champions League competitions, Yamal showed that he might be the next entrant in the GOAT sweepstakes with a legend-making sort of performance. Europa League semifinals start today with tiny Bodo/Glimt traveling to London to face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United going to Bilbao to face Athletic Club. If the entire town that Bodo/Glimt calls home traveled to the match in London, they couldn't fill Spurs' stadium. But they've become one of the big stories over the past few years as they're dominant in Norway and have beaten Ange Postecolglu before when he was at Celtic. As for Manchester United, the pressure is on to win the Europa League in order to play in next year's Champions League and perhaps have the financial wherewithal to revitalize their roster and the club's future. The Carlo Ancelotti telenovela carries on with most everyone now saying that when the La Liga title is out of reach, then we'll get a resolution. The Clasico date on May 11 with Barcelona is like the next big circle on the calendar. Some outlets say that Brazil will wait on Ancelotti. Anything is possible at this point, with some even saying that Ancelotti might end up in Saudi Arabia at Al Hilal if their manager Jorge Jesus ends up becoming the Brazilian manager instead of him. Victarion Greyjoy promises a continuation of Balon's legacy - and he lavishes gold and silver bribes to prove his case.Asha Greyjoy sneers at her uncle's claim, she is the child of Balon and the natural heir. Her promise is of land. She'll make peace with the north and swell the Iron Islands holdings by tenfold. The two seem to have a similar number of followers. But a horn sounds silencing all.Euron Greyjoy is the one Kraken to have never tasted defeat. His horn will bind dragons to him, and he knows of three dragons growing in Essos that will give him all he needs to not just win the north, or the west, but the whole of the Seven Kingdoms. The Iron Captain, Victarion Greyjoy, returns to the Iron Islands for the kingsmoot. He reunites with family, some welcomed others not so much. One thing's for certain, nobody's backing down on their claim to the vacant Seastone Chair. Simon and Mackelly hope for a peaceful transition of power.Chapter Review:Victarion Greyjoy sails the Iron Fleet into Old Wyk for the kingsmoot. In the bay, he spies his older brother Euron Greyjoy's ship Silence. Victarion is welcomed back to the Iron Islands by his younger brother Aeron Damphair. Both agree Euron is the wrong man to succeed their dead oldest brother Balon as the king of the Iron Islands.That night at a feast, Victarion finds his niece Asha Greyjoy. They trade friendly banter before a silence fills the room. Euron and his cronies have entered the tent. Aeron tries to discredit Euron but is quickly stymied and leaves in frustration. Next Asha takes her turn confronting her uncle Euron. They go back and forth at each other in a much less friendly manner than she and Victarion, before Victarion commands an end to it. Victarion and Euron exchange words and agree that all will be settled when the votes are cast.After Euron and his men leave, Asha and Victarion take a walk. Asha admits that she can't win the Seastone Chair and offers to back Victarion, if he'll agree to accept her as his Hand. Victarion can't find his way to consider her offer. However, he shares the secret of the correlation between Euron's banishment and Victarion's dead wife. She tells Victarion he's left her no choice, she will put herself forth as the queen of the Iron Islands.
