(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Fulani Muslim killed 15 unarmed Nigerian Christians On Saturday, May 17th, armed Fulani Muslim militia opened fire on Agatu Christians in Benue State, Nigeria, killing 15 unarmed men. Throughout that North Central region, the Fulani have also killed 159 Christian residents over the last 40 days, according to TruthNigeria.com.   Pray for Christians in Nigeria, suffering the most severe violence in the world today. Romania turns left after election interference On Sunday, Romania has taken the centrist-left position with the election of a new president named Nicușor Dan. Dan is supportive of Romania's participation in the European Union, and has made moves to approve the homosexual/transgender movement in his country. The more conservative candidate, George-Nicolae Simion, lost the election in a vote of 54% to 46%. Romania is the second largest Eastern European country by population.  The mainstream media is interpreting this election as an international rejection of the Trump agenda.  The back story is that Călin Georgescu, the conservative in the first round of the Romanian presidential election last December, garnered the most votes among the six presidential candidates at that time. After his opponents claimed that Russia had influenced the election through TikTok accounts, Romanian government officials detained Georgescu, canceled that election, and re-set it for May 18th.  Tens of thousands of Romanians protested in the streets back in March. At the time, Elon Musk said, “They just arrested the person who won the most votes in the Romanian presidential election. This is messed up.” Most and least benevolent countries According to this year's Gallup World Happiness Report, the most benevolent countries in the world, judged by donations and volunteer hours, are Indonesia, the United States, Kenya, Gambia, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand. The least benevolent countries are Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco.  Biden announces advanced prostate cancer Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, reports CBS News. On Sunday, President Trump posted on social media that he and First Lady Melania Trump are "saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis." Appearing on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Monday, former Obama health advisor Dr. Zeke Emanuel said the cancer is so advanced, he has had it for many years. SCARBOROUGH: “Doesn't it take some time for prostate cancer to develop to a point where it would spread to the bones?” EMANUEL: “He's had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.” Dr. Emanuel explained how serious Biden's prostate cancer truly is. EMANUEL: “That Gleason score, that score is from 2 up to 10, and he's at a 9. That means that the cancer doesn't look normal. It looks very abnormal.” Appearing on Fox News with Jesse Waters, talk show host Hugh Hewitt was incredulous. HEWITT: “This is the fourth time, in a little over 100 years, that a Democratic president -- Woodrow Wilson, FDR, John F. Kennedy and now Joe Biden, have hidden crucial details about their health as Commander-in-Chief from the American people. Ronald Reagan did not do that. “And it just astonishes me that in a free republic, we have to worry about our leaders telling us whether they're healthy or not.” Supremes allows Trump to revoke protection for thousands of illegal Venezuelans On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling allowing the Trump administration to deport 350,000 Venezuelans who are presently living in the U.S. on what they call a “humanitarian parole,” reports NBC News. Christian camp sues over foolish transgender mandates The State of Colorado is threatening to shut down a Christian Camp called Idrahaje -- short for “I'd Rather Have Jesus.” The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has refused to grant the camp a religious exemption concerning its transgender policies. This would require the camp to allow boys, pretending to be girls, to sleep, shower, and dress with female campers. The camp has sued the state, with representation from Alliance Defending Freedom. The camp disciples 2,500 to 3,000 students each year with the mission to “win souls to Jesus Christ through the spreading of the Gospel.”  Camp Idrahaje has complied with all regulations until this year when the Colorado government officials released new gender identity rules that became effective on February 14, 2025. 96% of atheists embrace homosexual/transgender agenda The most likely group in America to support the homosexual/transgender agenda are atheists with 96% professing support.  By contrast, 70% of white Evangelical Protestants oppose the lifestyle. Psalm 14:1 describes the atheist this way: "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works.” Mother loses right to disciple daughter Liberty Counsel is defending a mother in the state of Maine who has lost the right to guide the religious upbringing of her 11-year-old girl in a custody case.  This includes taking her daughter to Calvary Chapel services on Sunday.   A state district judge has ruled against the mother, citing “The ‘fear mongering,' paranoia, and anxiety taught by Calvary Chapel has, more likely than not, already had an impact on [the daughter's] childhood development.”   Expert testimony concluded that Calvary Chapel is a cult, the church's pastor a “charismatic” speaker, who spoke “authoritatively” in his messages, and that he asserted his messages were objective truth.   Liberty Counsel is appealing the case to the Maine Supreme Court. They still persecute people who preach about Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 says, “For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.” Housing prices sag Since June 2022, housing prices are sagging in some metro areas around the U.S. — 22.8% in the Austin market, 9.9% in the Phoenix market, 9.2% in the San Francisco market, 9.1% in the San Antonio Market, 7.3% in the Denver market, and 6.7% in the Dallas Market. The Consumer Price Index has also risen about 10% over that period of time. Moody's downgraded America's financial rating And finally, in a year-over-year comparison, the U.S. government is still breaking records for fiscal expenditures running 10% over Fiscal Year 2024. Moody's has downgraded the U.S. as a long-term issuer of bonds by one notch, ending a perfect rating for America over the last 108 years.  No longer does the U.S, government get a Aaa rating, the highest level available. Now, it's an Aa1. Moody's noted that the downgrade "reflects the increase over more than a decade in government debt and interest payment ratios to levels that are significantly higher than similarly rated sovereigns.” The rating organization added that: “Successive U.S. administrations and Congress have failed to agree on measures to reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs.”   Another independent rating service, named Fitch, downgraded the United States in 2023.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. You probably never heard of Sunday Jackson. But Christiansaround the world need to learn about him, as he faces grave injustice in Nigeria. The Christian farmer was set upon by an armed Fulani Islamist, just like thousands of Christians who lost their lives at the hands of armed Fulani. But Sunday defended himself and prevailed over his attacker, who would later succumb to his injuries. For the crime of defending himself, Sunday Jackson hasreceived a capital sentence and is set to be hanged. Injustice is too soft a word for this legal monstrosity. In essence, Nigerian Christians are not allowed to defend themselves. Meanwhile, Islamists who are captured on video celebratingactual crimes are granted their freedom. Joining us to understand the two tier legal system in Nigeria is Zariyi Yusuf. He will help you understand what happened with Sunday Jackson and other Nigerian Christians suffering under an unjust legal system. It's Tuesday, March 18th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Court upholds death sentence of Christian The Nigerian Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence for a man who attempted to defend himself when attacked by the radical Muslim sect known as the Fulani.  Truth Nigeria has reported that a Christian farmer named Sunday Jackson had been sentenced to death by a Muslim judge three years ago. As the Christian was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by a knife-wielding Fulani, Jackson wrested the weapon from him, and stabbed that attacker with the Muslim's own knife. Human rights activist and pastor Dr. William Terence Devlin, who has been advocating for Jackson internationally, expressed his deep disappointment. He said, “This is a failure of the Nigerian justice system. By any legal or moral standard, this man is innocent.” The Open Doors World Watch List rates the country of Nigeria as the seventh most persecuting nation in the world.  Additionally, 69% of the 4,476 Christians martyred worldwide last year were from Nigeria. State Dept. might designate Nigeria “Country of Particular Concern” Millions of Nigerian Christians have been severely oppressed by the militant Islamic groups and their own government for over a decade now. As of last week, the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa held a hearing entitled  “Conflict and Persecution in Nigeria: the Case for a CPC Designation.”  Despite the kidnappings, murders, and injustices perpetuated and tolerated by the nation, the Biden administration had removed Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” in 2021.  But let us remember that Psalm 34:7 says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” Lowest favorability rating ever for Democrats A recent CNN poll finds the favorability of the Democrat Party is at the lowest in recorded history.   The favorability rating among American adults dipped to 29% in early March, a 20% decline from January 2021. Among Democrats, 52% say their party is going in the wrong direction. The same survey found that 9% more Americans say the president is too extreme, compared to those who say the same thing of the Republican Party. That gap has diminished from 18% in 2022. Trump put 1,300 Voice of America journalists on leave More than 1,300 journalists, producers and staff at Voice of America have been notified they were placed on administrative leave on Saturday.  The VOA's parent organization, The U.S. Agency for Global Media, employs 3,500 people with a budget of a little less than $1 billion per year. That's about the size of the budget for Fox News or CNN. But somewhat less than the annual budget for The Worldview in 5 Minutes; we might add. We employ three part-timers. 42 Americans died in natural disasters At least 42 Americans died over the weekend by natural disasters brought by God's sovereign and almighty power to this country. Wildfires destroyed houses and structures in Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, and Oklahoma. An EF-3 tornado in Missouri, with winds between 136 and 165 mph, killed twelve people, and another EF-3 tornado killed three people in Arkansas. One EF-4 tornado, with winds of 166-200 mph, followed up. Also, a massive collision of 55 vehicles on I-70 in Kansas, due largely to high winds and a dust storm, resulted in eight more deaths, reports CBS News. Trump authorizes targeted bombing in Yemen President Donald Trump authorized U.S. airstrikes on Iran-based Houthi rebel targets in Yemen resulting in 53 deaths over the weekend, reports Fox News. The attacks were carried out by fighter jets from the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier, now in the northern Red Sea, as well as Air Force attack planes, and armed drones launched from bases in the region. In response to the war between Israel and Hamas, the Houthi terrorists initially said they were attacking ships connected with Israel, or heading to or from there. However, many of the vessels they've attacked have no connection with Israel. They have launched dozens of missile and drone attacks on commercial ships. Of these, 34 have resulted in reported damage to the vessels, reports the BBC. Major shipping companies have stopped using the Red Sea -- through which almost 15% of global seaborne trade usually passes -- and are using a much longer route around southern Africa instead. In a Truth Social post on March 15, President Trump wrote, "They have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones. We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective." Appearing on Fox News, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth didn't pull any punches. HEGSETH: “We're sitting on four years of deferred maintenance from Joe Biden, where in particular, when you talk about the Houthis, they were allowed for over 100 times to shoot at U.S. ships, to shoot at commercial shipping. Four months ago, when we sent a ship through, it was shot at 17 times. Ships haven't been able to go through for over a year without being shot at. “Freedom of navigation is basic. It's a core national interest. The minute the Houthis say, ‘We'll stop shooting at your ships. We'll stop shooting at your drones,' this campaign will end. But, until then, it will be unrelenting. “We got the reports last night. The Houthi capital felt like an earthquake, dozens and dozens of precision, heavy munitions dropping precisely on the targets that we wanted to hit. “And the message is clear to Iran as well: ‘Your support of the Houthis needs to end immediately. We will hold you accountable as the sponsor of this proxy.' This is not the Biden administration. We will come after the Houthis until they stop shooting in our ships and the Iranians better stay out of it.” The Trump administration has committed to retaliation against the Iran-backed Houthis until they stop disrupting trade in the Red Sea. Franklin Graham urges Zelenskyy to call for national day of prayer U.S. Evangelist Franklin Graham reached out to Ukrainian President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling for a day of prayer for the nation.  On X, Graham wrote, “I urged him to call for a national day of prayer at this critical time. I would encourage this not only for the people of Ukraine, but also for the people of Russia and around the world—that the church of Jesus Christ stand together in prayer for peace. So many lives have been lost. President Trump is right—this war must end. We need God's help.” Ukraine has accepted the United States's proposed 30-day ceasefire. So far, Russia has not agreed to the terms. Zelensky responded on X, stating that “We value Franklin Graham's voice and rely on his support.” Psalm 67:5-7 is our prayer for the nations: “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the Earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us. And all the ends of the Earth shall fear Him.” Tesla's value dropped 50% In business news, Tesla has lost half its value since the first of the year. Nasdaq down, Gold and Bitcoin up The Nasdaq Composite index has slipped to about where it was last June. Gold is up to $3,000 per ounce. That's a 36% increase over a year ago. And Bitcoin is up 22% over a year ago, at $84,000 per Bitcoin. Christian college women's basketball team victorious in truth and game And finally, a Christian college women's basketball team has won the Canadian league championship despite their opposition to transgenderism in sports.   Columbia Bible College of Abbotsford, British Columbia had forfeited games, endured harsh criticism, and received sanctions for refusing to countenance transgender players. Despite the blowback, the team beat St. Mary's University 77-70 to win its first national title. The team had protested a certain male basketball player, pretending to be a woman, by the name of Harriette Mackenzie, who was born Declan Mackenzie. The man had won MVP honors and all-Canadian awards in women's basketball.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 18th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 5 Christians and displaced 1,500 others Boko Haram, the Muslim terrorist group, is escalating attacks on Nigerian Christian communities in Chibok, Borno State, displacing more than 4,000 Christians in recent days, reports International Christian Concern. In a series of coordinated raids, Boko Haram targeted the villages of Christians, burned homes, torching churches, and killing five people. During the most recent attack on January 20th, terrorists displaced more than 1,500 residents. They targeted Christians in these raids, intimidating them and demanding they convert to Islam or face death. The violence destroyed the church called Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa, and resulted in the loss of livestock, food supplies, and livelihoods. According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the seventh most dangerous country worldwide for Christians to live. Trump defunded Planned Parenthood International While on Air Force One on Friday, President Donald Trump signed the Mexico City policy which prohibits American tax dollars from being used to promote or provide abortions overseas, reports LifeNews.com. The move defunded two major abortion chains of hundreds of millions of American tax dollars. The International Planned Parenthood Federation alone estimated a $100 million loss from its budget. Vice President Vance speaks out for unborn life and pro-life activists On Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke in person at the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington D.C. and then marched with tens of thousands of pro-life Americans. VANCE: “We march to protect the unborn and live out the sacred truth that every single child is a miracle and a gift from God. It is a blessing to know the truth, and the truth is that unborn life is worthy of protection.” And Vice President Vance explained how things would be different under the leadership of President Donald Trump. He addressed the Biden administration's obsession with imprisoning pro-life Americans who participated in non-violent civil disobedience much like many did during the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. VANCE: “With his return to office, no longer will the federal government direct FBI raids on the homes of people like, Mark Houck, and other Catholic and Christian activists who are fighting for the unborn every single day. And no longer will our government throw pro-life protesters and activists, elderly grandparents, or anybody else in prison. It stopped on Monday, and we're not going to let it come back to this country.” Lila Rose: Defund Planned Parenthood of America and abolish abortion Lila Rose, the founder of Live Action, addressed the March for Life crowd this past Friday in our nation's capitol. ROSE: “We must also speak the truth to our elected officials. We can start by demanding that they defund Planned Parenthood. (cheers) It's time!” (cheers) Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Rose continued. ROSE:  “And most importantly, we must urge our elected officials to abolish abortion. (cheers) Abolishing abortion is the most important human rights cause of our time. One million of our unborn brothers and sisters are killed every year by abortion.” Pro-life rescuer Joan Bell to Trump: Protect babies from conception On January 24th, newly pardoned pro-life activist Joan Andrews Bell, age 75, joined the tens of thousands of pro-lifers in Washington, D.C., for the 52nd annual March for Life. Bell was freed from prison following President Trump's official pardon of the 23 pro-life rescuers in jail. John-Henry Westen, the founder of LifeSiteNews.com, interviewed her at the March for Life. WESTEN: “Joan, you just got out of prison now. President Trump gave you and the other 22 a pardon. What is your message for President Trump right now?” BELL: “Number one, thank you with all my heart. We trust that God is going to keep guiding you, keep bringing you closer and closer to the total truth that you need to defend every human life from the very moment of conception to natural death. And Monica Miller has a great book In The Beginning: [Critical Lessons for Our World from the First Three Chapters of Genesis]. Anyone who reads that will have to say, of course. In Scripture [Jeremiah 1:5] ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.'” Pete Hegseth confirmed as Sec of Defense thanks to J.D. Vance This past Friday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Pete Hegseth as the new Secretary of Defense in a late-night session that came down to a tie-breaking vote from Vice President J.D. Vance after GOP Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky voted no, reports The Epoch Times. VANCE: “On this vote, the Yeas are 50 and the Nays are 50. The Senate being equally divided, the Vice President votes in the affirmative and the nomination is confirmed.” President Trump's nominee was initially deadlocked in a 50-50 vote. That capped a contentious confirmation process in which Hegseth faced questions about his views on women serving in combat, as well as allegations of alcoholism, sexual assault, and financial mismanagement at two veteran nonprofit groups. The vice president is the president of the Senate and has the sole power to cast a tie-breaking vote when necessary. Kristi Noem confirmed as Secretary of Homeland Security On Saturday, the Senate approved the nomination of South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security, reports The Hill.com. The 59-34 vote to confirm Noem puts her at the center of an administration focused heavily on immigration. Seven Democrats voted with Republicans to confirm her. Solar-charging backpacks help African kids read at night And finally, a local entrepreneur in Tanzania is clearing two hurdles in one leap by transforming old cement bags into backpacks that include a small solar panel to power a reading light, reports Good News Network. Clearing municipal waste and helping rural children study after dark for just $4-8 per bag is impressive. Soma Bags employs 85 rural workers to satisfy a demand for 13,000 backpacks a month. They can't meet it, but they do their best. This backpack craze is all due to Mr. Innocent James who remembers studying for school by the light of a kerosene lantern. James' solution was inspired by a university professor he met.  The man carried around a solar panel to charge his phone sewn into the fabric of his jacket, giving James the idea to sew cheap, flexible solar panels onto the outside of bags to power a reading light. It's Monday, December 23rd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes written by yours truly and heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  Filling in for Adam McMannus I'm Ean Leppin. Attack on a Christmas market in Germany Fox News reported on Friday that a festive Christmas market in Eastern Germany erupted into chaos when a car was driven into a group of people in the city of Magdeburg.  Between 60 and 80 people have been injured and at the time of this report 2 had been killed including a child.  The Associated Press reports that the suspect is a 50 year old Saudi doctor who came to Germany back in 2006.  German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, ‘My thoughts are with the victims and their families.  We stand by their side and by the side of the people of Magdeburg.' Pray for all of the people involved that God will bring comfort and peace in this tragic time. Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed spirit. Pray for Believers in Nigeria as Christmas Day Approaches  As reported by Mission Network News Christians in Nigeria are facing an increased level of persecution for the upcoming Christmas holiday.  The terrorist group Boko Haram has historically attacked during past Christmas celebrations.  Darrel Templeton with Megavoice comments on the threat. TEMPLETON: "They're trying to scare and terrorize the Christians, to keep them from being bold in their faith, in gathering and in exercising their religious freedoms." Templeton goes on to report that the military and police force in Nigeria sometimes act more as accomplices than as watchguards.  Nigeria is currently number 6 on the list of countries where it is most dangerous to be a Christian according to Open Doors. Boko Haram isn't the only group that persecutes believers.  The climate in Nigeria is currently an open season on believers.  It has been reported that homes are looted and buildings have been burned. Word from missionaries on the ground in Nigeria report that believers there recognize the blessing of suffering in relation to their faith.  Templeton with Megavoice tells us how we can pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. TEMPLETON: "They're not praying, or asking us to pray, that they be taken away from this, but they ask for protection and they ask for boldness." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.  For when I am weak, then I am strong. Georgia Supreme Court to consider an abortion ban As documented by the Center for Reproductive Rights. In July 2022 a court case in Georgia, SisterSong v the State of Georgia sought to block HB 481, which bans abortions after approximately 6 weeks.  On November 15th 2022 Judge Robert McBurney of the Superior Court of Fulton County struck down the ban as void.  He further found that a subsequent change in Federal constitutional law, the overturning of Roe v Wade, does not revive the ban.  Instead, if the legislature wishes to ban abortion, it must pass a new law.  Just a week later on Nov 23rd the Georgia Supreme Court granted an emergency stay of the injunction, allowing the ban to take effect once again while the state's appeal continued.  As of October 7th of this year The Supreme Court of Georgia issued a ruling staying the trial court decision striking down HB 481.  This reinstated the abortion ban while the appeal proceeds at the Georgia Supreme Court. In response The Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Erik Baptist who is also director of the ADF Center for Life has filed a brief on behalf of the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine asking the court to reverse the lower court ruling that permanently blocks Georgia's pro-life Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act or LIFE Act.  The LIFE Act protects the life of an unborn child when a fetal heartbeat is detected. Erik Baptist is quoted as saying, ‘The Georgia Superior Court made a critical error when it pitted the interests of a mother against those of her child as a reason for ruling the LIFE Act unconstitutional. The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine has a vested interest in holistic care for both mother and child, and we are urging the court to reverse the lower court's decision and follow U.S. Supreme Court precedent that allows states to enact and enforce pro-life laws.' Hope Being Delivered Through Chainsaws for Christ in North Carolina Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina earlier this year.  CBN News reports that some 120,000 homes were damaged or destroyed.  As temperatures have dropped and winter is settling in, displaced families are facing desperate situations and continuing to rely on the churches and faithbased community for help.  Reverend Scott Rogers with the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry says The churches are the heartbeat of this effort… ROGERS: "The churches are the heartbeat, and, if you will, the nervous system, the spinal cord, that gets the message of the needs to the churches, back to our central support systems, and that's what God's people do.  That's what the Bible Belt is all about." This Christian Ministry unites 300 churches and 5000 volunteers to provide temporary shelter, food, clothing and long term recovery assistance.   Another ministry that has been helping out in North Carolina is Chainsaws for Christ. (Facebook link here) It's founder Brent Allmon talks about what motivates him to serve. ALLMON: "And I just want to help them.  People help me, and God loves me.  He loves you.  He loves everyone that's listening to this.  I just want them to know that there is peace and hope in the name of Jesus Christ." Literally everything that Brent and Chainsaws for Christ brings has been provided by the Lord through donations.  The chainsaws, tools, food, volunteers, RV that he sleeps in to the Christmas toys they are providing to the community.   So what does Brent charge to those receiving services from Chainsaws for Christ? ALLMON: "For us, zero.  The Lord paid it over 2000 years ago, and we get the opportunity to give back just a little bit." It's Monday, December 16h, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Christians anticipate Muslim violence on Christmas For more than a decade now, one country alone has produced the majority of the world's Christian martyrs. In Nigeria, Africa, Muslims have killed 50,000 Christians between 2009 and 2023. During that period, millions were displaced from their homes. Though many people both inside and outside Nigeria have sought to deny or obfuscate the anti-Christian sentiment in these attacks, the religious motivation becomes painfully clear when the violence occurs on Christmas. Last year, a series of lethal Christmas attacks demonstrated that religious motivation. With large-scale massacres having occurred during the previous two Christmases, Samuel said his loved ones in northern Nigeria will be taking safety precautions this Christmas. 2 Timothy 3:12 reminds believers that “everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”  But, in Nigeria, it could cost you your life. Biden issues largest act of clemency in modern history President Joe Biden will be commuting the sentences of 1,500 Americans who were released from prison and placed on house arrest during the pandemic and will be pardoning 39 individuals who were convicted of nonviolent crimes, according to the Thursday White House press release. This will be the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history, reports TheBlaze.com. Biden will be commuting these sentences and issuing pardons for those who have "shown successful rehabilitation," shown "a strong commitment to making communities safer," and who have "successfully reintegrated into their families and communities.” The President has said, “The United States is a nation of second chances.”  The President recognizes how the clemency power can advance equal justice under law and remedy harms caused by practices of the past. Before Biden, former President Barack Obama issued the second-largest single-day act of clemency with 330 people. Biden's decision to grant clemency to 1,500 people follows the sweeping pardon Biden issued for his son Hunter Biden on December 1, alleviating Hunter from the federal crimes he was charged with earlier this year. The pardon was met with a slew of bipartisan scrutiny, especially given the president's repeated insistence that he would not pardon his son. Pelosi fell and was hospitalized in Luxembourg Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi of California, the 84-year-old former House speaker, was hospitalized after “sustaining an injury during an official engagement” while traveling with a congressional delegation to Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, reports The Epoch Times. The details about the injury were not provided. According to Voice of America, Pelosi got a hip replaced on Saturday at a U.S. military hospital in Germany. McConnell to challenge Trump's “America First” foreign policy In the aftermath of President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory, former Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell compared the Make America Great Again movement to American isolationists in the 1930s, insinuating that Trump would have been indifferent to the fascist uprising in Europe at the time, reports The Blaze.com. Trump, whose foreign policy is far more hands-off than McConnell's hawkish approach, is fundamentally at odds with the former leader's geopolitical worldview. Consequently, McConnell spoke about the current state of foreign affairs and said it was "reminiscent" of the times leading up to World War II, criticizing American isolationists from both today and nearly a century ago. It all comes down to McConnell and money. McConnell has greenlit over $170 billion to Ukraine, while Trump has repeatedly called for an end to the war altogether. McConnell said, “We're in a very, very dangerous world right now, reminiscent of before World War II.  Even the slogan is the same. ‘America First.' That was what they said in the '30s.” While McConnell may have stepped down from his leadership role, his grip on foreign funding is not loosening any time soon. Notably,  McConnell stepped into the new role of chairing the Senate appropriations subcommittee on defense, which will allow him to continue influencing the cash flow to our "democratic allies." Liberal restaurant staff eager to refuse Trump staff service From Washington, D.C., word comes that food workers are organizing massive protests that will target members of the incoming Trump administration. Industry veterans, bartenders, and servers are pledging to refuse service and cause mayhem inside dining rooms across the capital city. The Washingtonian first reported on the culinary insurgency in a story entitled, “Clashes Are Coming for Trump Officials Dining Out in DC.” The magazine interviewed a number of unnamed waiters, bartenders, and others who plan to make dining out a miserable experience for anyone connected to the Trump administration. Christian talk show host Todd Starnes said, “The Democrats are all about tolerance and acceptance, not so much decorum or basic table manners. If you don't pledge allegiance to their far-left agenda or ideology, it's no soup for you!” Missionary Amy Carmichael's birth anniversary And finally, on December 16, 1867, Amy Carmichael was born in Northern Ireland as the oldest of seven siblings. She famously served as a missionary in Japan, China, Sri Lanka, and India.  She eventually dedicated her life to working in India. Carmichael's most notable work was with girls and young women. She often said that her ministry of rescuing temple children started with a girl named Preena. Having become a temple servant against her wishes, Preena managed to escape. Amy Carmichael provided her shelter, thus beginning her new ministry.  To her credit, she fought against ritual abortion, forced prostitution, and enslavement of girls for pagan temples. She cared for thousands of children despite opposition from local Hindus and even other Christian missionaries. To identify with the culture, Carmichael herself dressed in Indian clothes and dyed her skin with dark coffee. While serving in India, she received a letter from a young lady who was considering life as a missionary, who asked, "What is missionary life like?" She replied,  "Missionary life is simply a chance to die." Before her death in 1951 at the age of 83, she asked that no stone be put over her grave. Luke 14:11 says, "For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Watch the 38-minute animated Torchlighters biography of Amy Carmichael with your kids through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.    Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, December 16th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims killed four Christians in Kaduna State, Nigeria As a Nigerian Christian man named Kushuwai started harvesting rice with his family on November 8th in Jema'a County, he suddenly found himself in the middle of a nightmare, reports International Christian Concern. Muslim extremists, believed to be Fulani militants, attacked his farming community, killing four Christians and critically wounding several others in Southern Kaduna State. Kushuwai said, “They came in their numbers, armed with guns, knives, and machetes. They encircled us without firing a shot. My son begged them to spare us, but they attacked him instead. My daughters and the other women ran for their lives while I was struck down trying to intervene.”   Although Kushuwai survived with severe injuries, his son was brutally killed. In Romans 8:35, the Apostle Paul asked, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?“ Chinese student killed 8, injured 17 after failing exam On Saturday, a Chinese student killed eight people and injured 17 others in a stabbing attack at Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing city, China, reports One America News. Police stated that the suspect, who was arrested on the scene, was a recent graduate who was motivated to kill and maim because of “failing [an] exam, not receiving a graduation certificate, and dissatisfaction with internship compensation.”  Biden authorizes Ukraine to use US-supplied long-range missiles inside Russia President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied long-range missiles to strike deeper inside Russia, easing limitations on the weapons as Russia deploys thousands of North Korean troops to reinforce its war, reports the Associated Press. The decision allowing Kyiv to use the Army Tactical Missile System for attacks farther inside Russia comes as President Vladimir Putin positions North Korean troops along Ukraine's northern border to try to reclaim hundreds of miles of territory seized by Ukrainian forces. North Korea has provided thousands of troops to Russia to help Moscow try to claw back land in the Kursk border region that Ukraine seized this year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and many of his Western supporters have been pressing Biden for months to allow Ukraine to strike military targets deeper inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles, saying the U.S. ban had made it impossible for Ukraine to try to stop Russian attacks on its cities and electrical grids. The Red State, a conservative website wrote, “Maybe Joe Biden didn't get the memo: he lost the presidential election and will be vacating the White House in January. It's an odd time to be announcing a significant--and perhaps escalatory--shift toward Ukraine as they try to stave off Russian aggression in the ongoing war between the two countries.” Trump picked Secretary of Energy President-elect Donald Trump has named energy industry executive Chris Wright as his choice to lead the Department of Energy, pending Senate confirmation, reports The Epoch Times. In a November 16 statement, Trump wrote, “Chris has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in energy. He has worked in nuclear, solar, geothermal, and oil and gas. Most significantly, Chris was one of the pioneers who helped launch the American Shale Revolution that fueled American energy independence, and transformed the global energy markets and geopolitics.” In remarks at a National Conservatism conference in 2021, Wright warned that ongoing attempts to shift from oil, coal, and gas to renewables are “the largest politically driven mis-investment ever,” that will increase energy costs and reduce reliability. Christian group opposes Matt Gaetz for Attorney General A conservative Christian legal group is opposing Present-elect Trump's nomination of Matt Gaetz to be the next Attorney General Liberty Counsel, headed by Mat Staver, released a statement in which they declared, “Matt Gaetz is neither morally nor professionally qualified to become the United States Attorney General. This is the highest law enforcement position in the country. America deserves much better. “Professionally, Matt Gaetz graduated from law school in 2007, and briefly worked for a law firm in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida before being elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2010. He served in that role until 2016, and was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017. Gaetz has three years or less experience in the practice of law, hardly enough to serve as the nation's chief law enforcement officer.” In the statement, Liberty Counsel wrote, “Morally, Gaetz has been under a cloud of sex and drug allegations. On Wednesday, as soon as he was tapped by President-elect Donald Trump, Gaetz immediately resigned from Congress, thus ending the Ethics probe into his sex parties that includes allegations of paying an underage girl for sex. Gaetz will face tough questions during any confirmation hearing and will likely not be confirmed. His immediate resignation raises serious questions as it occurred just two days before the U.S. House Ethics Committee was scheduled to vote to release what is expected to be a damaging report.” Mike Pence opposes RFK Jr at HHS over abortion Former Vice President Mike Pence urged Senate Republicans on Friday to vote against Trump's nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, citing his views on abortion, reports the Christian Post. He said, "The Trump-Pence administration was unapologetically pro-life for our four years in office. There are hundreds of decisions made at HHS every day that either lead our nation toward a respect for life or away from it, and HHS under our administration always stood for life." Court upholds Indiana's ban on gender transition for minors A federal appeals court panel has upheld Indiana's ban on sex-change operations and hormone drugs for minors, including things like administering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and cosmetic irreversible surgeries, reports The Christian Post. A three-judge panel of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 Wednesday to reverse a lower court decision against Senate Enrolled Act 480, which passed in April 2023. Talk show host Dennis Prager seriously injured his back And finally, last Tuesday, conservative Jewish talk show host Dennis Prager seriously injured his back in a fall at his home, reports The Express Tribune. Prager, age 76, hosts a weekday show heard on 400 radio stations.  He is also the founder of PragerU, known for its short educational videos that promote conservative values on topics like economics and political science.  It is "the most viewed conservative video site in the world, with one billion views a year, more than half by people under the age of 35." (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslim terrorists demand ransom for kidnapped pastor Boko Haram, the Islamic terror group, recently shared a video on social media in which Nigerian Pastor Paul Musa was pleading for his life as an armed, masked Islamic extremist stands behind him, reports International Christian Concern. The Muslim terrorist group abducted the 59-year-old pastor and his wife, Ruth, age 50, in March 2023 from their home in Borno State, Nigeria. In the video, the pastor is wearing orange clothing, reminiscent of the orange jumpsuits worn by the 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians that the Islamic State group beheaded on a beach in Libya in 2015. The Muslim militants demanded the pastor's family pay $130,000 by Monday, July 8th or Pastor Musa would be killed. Since 2009, Islamic extremists such as Boko Haram, Islamic State West African Province, Islamic Fulani militants, and unidentified gunmen have killed an estimated 45,000 Nigerian Christians. In fact, earlier this month, members of Islamic State West African Province executed three Christians in the Borno State. These groups also continue to kidnap pastors and priests and hold them for ransom. It is critical that there is a loud cry from American Christians to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Please send a polite, yet firm physical letter to Dr. Uzoma Emenike, the Nigerian Ambassador, asking her to use her influence to save Pastor Paul Musa. Hurricane Beryl had maximum sustained winds of about 160 mph, reported the National Hurricane Center, putting the storm in Category 5 status. Since debate, Trump's lead widens by additional 3% Former President Donald Trump is leading President Biden 49% to 43% among likely voters in the latest New York Times/Siena College poll, reports Axios.com. That's a three-point swing for Trump since the debate, and his largest lead in the survey since 2015. Democrats begin to consider Harris at the top of their ticket As President Biden continues to face questions about whether he should end his bid to seek a second term, there are growing signs that many in the Democratic Party are willing to accept the notion of Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of their presidential ticket, a potentially significant shift, reports The Washington Post. In candor, many Democrats were also worried that Harris would be a weak candidate, based in part on her ill-fated presidential run in 2020, when she was forced to drop out before a single vote was cast. But choosing someone instead of Harris, the first woman of color to serve as vice president, seemed politically untenable. Andy Stanley criticizes Southern Baptists for ousting Rick Warren's Saddleback Church over female pastor Georgia megachurch Pastor Andy Stanley has criticized the Southern Baptist Convention for disfellowshipping Rick Warren's Saddleback Church over its unbiblical approval of female pastors, reports The Christian Post. In a sermon Sunday at North Point Community Church of Alpharetta, Stanley, the son of the late Charles Stanley, a Southern Baptist pastor, expressed his strong disagreement. STANLEY: “One of the two people who really launched this movement way back in the late 70s is Rick Warren. Before he wrote The Purpose Driven Life, he wrote The Purpose Driven Church. That book sold millions of copies to pastors, and it was a book about how to create a church that's for outsiders, for unchurched people. He is a modern church reformer. “Last year, his denomination kicked him out of the denomination for something immoral? No! Something illegal? No! Something to do with money? No!  Because he's had some addiction. No, none of that, you know, glamorous stuff. “They kicked him out because he had the nerve to ordain three female staff members who were functioning as pastors. He ordained them as pastors, which is actually a legal status. It gave them a tax benefit. They're doing the work of all the other male pastors. He's like, ‘Well, why in the world, would we not make them pastors?' They're pastoring. And they weren't gonna go out and lead a church. They were working on his staff. He ordained three women and they kicked him out of the church. You don't get any more insider focused than that!” But, truth be told, that's not the whole story. In February 2023, the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee deemed Saddleback not in "friendly cooperation" with the convention. At issue is Pastor Andy Wood, who succeeded Saddleback founder Rick Warren as lead pastor, listing his wife, Stacie, as the church's teaching pastor. The Baptist Faith & Message 2000, the convention's official statement of beliefs, says that the "office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture." Although Saddleback Church had previously ordained three female pastors in May 2021, the convention cited Stacie Wood's naming as teaching pastor as the actual reason for the expulsion. In describing a pastor, Titus 1:6 says, “An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.” Join me on the Colorado Father/Son Retreat Join me, Adam McManus, and my two sons, Honor and Valor, at the Colorado father son retreat Thursday, August 15. through Sunday, August 18. Father Robert Hoeffner, who celebrated his 50th year in the priesthood last year, was allegedly killed by a 24-year-old man named Brandon Kapas on Sunday, January 28. In addition to Hoeffner and his sister, Sally, the suspected shooter also allegedly killed his grandfather, William Kapas, and one other person whose name has not yet been released. The shooting of Hoeffner and his sister took place at a different location than the shooting of Kapas' grandfather and the person who has not yet been identified. The motive for the shootings is still unclear. Police shot and killed the alleged gunman on Sunday after he shot at police and injured two officers, according to Palm Bay Police Chief Mariano Augello, who addressed the incidents in a news conference. Both officers “are going to survive,” Augello said. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/256676/orlando-catholic-priest-among-four-killed-in-palm-bay-shooting Pope Francis confirmed that he will meet with the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who will be attending the canonization of Blessed María Antonia of Saint Joseph — also known as Mama Antula — the first Argentine female saint, to be held Febuary 11 in Rome. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/256678/argentine-president-javier-milei-pope-francis-to-meet The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania on Monday revived a 2019 lawsuit brought by a number of abortion providers in the state that challenges, on discrimination grounds, a longtime state law barring public funding for most abortions. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/256686/pennsylvania-supreme-court-opens-the-door-to-public-funding-for-abortion Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Nigeria shared details of the worsening persecution of Christians in Nigeria, accusing members of the government there of being complicit in what he called a Christian “genocide” and an erasure of the Christian presence from the country. Anagbe, who leads the Makurdi Diocese, warned that if greater action is not taken he believes the Christian population, which currently numbers over 86 million, roughly half of the total Nigerian populace, could disappear entirely in the next few decades. Though the Nigerian Christian population is massive and is known as having some of the most devoted faithful in the world, Anagbe said the Christian presence in Nigeria is “gradually and systematically” being reduced by radical Islamists through “killings, kidnappings, torture, and burning of churches.” https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/256683/is-the-persecution-in-nigeria-a-christian-genocide-this-bishop-says-yes Today, the church celebrates Saint John Bosco (or “Don Bosco”), a 19th century Italian priest who reached out to young people to remedy their lack of education, opportunities, and faith. John Bosco was born in August of 1815 into a family of peasant farmers in Castelnuovo d'Asti – a place which would one day be renamed in the saint's honor as “Castelnuovo Don Bosco.” In 1841, John Bosco was ordained a priest. In the city of Turin, he began ministering to boys and young men who lived on the streets, many of whom were without work or education. The priest was determined to save as many young people as he could from a life of degradation. He established a group known as the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales, and became a kindly spiritual father to boys in need. The Salesians were helping 130,000 children in 250 houses by the end of Don Bosco's life. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-john-bosco-133

In this episode, we delve into the harrowing reality of Christian persecution in Nigeria. Our guest, Judd Saul, brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into the recent Christmas attacks in Plateau State, where scores of Christians were brutally massacred. As we unpack the details of these attacks, we explore the complex web of religious, political, and social factors that contribute to the ongoing strife in this region. Our conversation extends beyond the surface, examining the underlying causes of these attacks, particularly the role of radicalized groups and the response of the Nigerian government. Judd's firsthand experience offers a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by Nigerian Christians and the resilience they exhibit in the face of adversity. Judd Saul, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, family man, entrepreneur, and dedicated missionary, has been profoundly involved in Nigeria since a transformative mission trip in 2011 with his grandfather, Duane Wessels. Married to Sherry and a father to five children, Judd has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by Nigerian Christians. He has committed over a decade to ministering in Nigeria, visiting 3-4 times annually. Recognizing the escalating attacks on Christians and the limited response from existing missions, Judd founded Equipping the Persecuted, a proactive organization supported by a team of experienced pastors, missionaries, and supporters. This organization focuses on both prevention and aftercare for persecuted Christians, establishing a local, effective response to the crisis in Nigeria. Over the 2023 Christmas holiday, Christians living in Nigeria's Middle Belt region were savagely attacked by Islamic Fulani herdsmen. This was only the latest in a string of atrocities targeting these Nigerian Christians. If you asked most government officials or media outlets, you would hear a litany of sterile explanations for this violence. Some insist it is due to disputes over agricultural claims. Others suggest climate change is the culprit. And still others claim that competing mineral rights drive the violence. But these are all lies. They are false narratives. Something far more sinister is afoot, and Christians around the globe need to discover what is actually going on. Only then will we be able to clearly speak out on behalf of our spiritual brothers and sisters in Nigeria. But what is the truth behind the recurring violence against Christians in Nigeria? Zariyi Yusuf joins the Christian Emergency Podcast to shed much-needed light on this campaign that others want shrouded in darkness. Yusuf, a Nigerian Christian from the Middle Belt, has tracked these developments for years. What Yusuf reveals is sobering. Simply put, there is a dedicated campaign to eliminate the Christian presence in Nigeria's Middle Belt. Put bluntly, there is a secret war targeting Nigeria's Christians. This campaign is well-funded, well-armed and well-coordinated. It progresses relentlessly, facilitated by government inaction, global distractions and false pretenses. Even if the world shrugs its shoulders and looks away, biblical Christians must not. We must pray for the Christians of Nigeria; advocate for them, and do all we can to help in the midst of their trials. The Ongoing Genocide of Nigerian Christians

In what has become a dark annual tradition, Islamic militants in Nigeria carried out targeted attacks on Christians on Christmas Eve. Up to 200 are confirmed dead and about 300 injured in the attacks that were carried out in 20 villages across the north-central state of Plateau. Islamic militants have carried out similar Christmas attacks for at least the last four years.  The population of Nigeria is almost evenly divided between Muslims and Christians, a religious split that largely follows geographic lines. The northern part of the country is predominantly Muslim, and the eastern and southern parts heavily Christian. The middle of the country, sometimes called the “Middle Belt,” is ethnically and religiously diverse.  Not surprisingly, the threat to Christians originated from the Islamic north, though it has now spread to southern regions. Three groups are responsible for what Open Doors  has called a campaign of “religious cleansing” against Christians. Boko Haram, one of the most notorious Islamist terrorist groups in the world, is responsible for killing thousands of Christians and displacing countless more since violence began to escalate in 2015. In recent years, their ruthlessness has been matched by a rival group, the Islamic State in West Africa.   As dangerous as these explicitly Islamist groups are, the Fulani herdsmen are worse. Because the Fulani territory in north Nigeria is suffering from a long-term drought, the Fulani are moving south to access water. To take land and drive out Christians, the herdsmen have raided and burned villages, slaughtered villagers, destroyed crops, and engaged in a host of other atrocities. It was the Fulani who carried out this year's Christmas attacks.  For years, the Nigerian government has denied the obvious religious dimensions of the Fulani herdsmen, instead claiming it to be a conflict between famers and herders. Former President Muhammadu Buhari is a Fulani. Though he attempted to address some of the economic issues that drive Fulani militancy, he consistently denied that religion played any role in the conflict, pointing out that Muslim villages were also raided. However, the vast majority of attacks were committed against Christians, including Christians in churches on Christmas and Easter.   In fact, the Fulani's history of Islamic militancy dates back to the late 17th century.  Denying the religious dimensions of these attacks is pure propaganda, according to the governor of the state of Plateau, Caleb Mutfwang. In a New Year's broadcast, he called for a week of mourning to begin 2024, referring to the recent killings as a “Christmas genocide” and acknowledging the over 400 that were killed just between April and June of 2023.  “These unprovoked and simultaneous attacks in different villages were clearly premeditated and coordinated.  “These series of attacks on our people are a clear case of criminality, insurgency and terrorism and must be seen and handled in that manner if we must succeed in halting this wanton destruction of lives and property.  “For the avoidance of doubt, it is a misrepresentation of facts to describe these needless and unprovoked attacks on our people as a Farmer-Herder clash, as has always been the traditional narrative. Let us call a spade a spade; this is simple genocide!”  Indeed, what has happened to Nigerian Christians over the past decade and more meets the established international standards for the label genocide.  And yet, as Johnnie Moore noted on X, “the @StateDept is reticent to speculate on the motive of the perpetrators of a massacre of 200 Christians in Nigeria on Christmas, in an area rife with terrorists.”   It is highly suspect whether Nigerian Christians should expect help from Nigeria's current president, who was sworn into office last May. Not only is Bola Ahmed Tinubu a Muslim, but he also broke with the tradition of selecting a Christian as vice-president. Given the nation's top two officeholders are Muslim, many are understandably skeptical of the president's condemnation of the Plateau state attacks, as well as his promise that “the envoys of death, pain, and sorrow responsible for these acts will not escape justice.”   Fueling the skepticism could be that in mid-December President Tinubu referred to his predecessor as “an icon of truth, justice, and patriotism.” He then followed the habit of his predecessor in not acknowledging any religious motivation for the Christmas Day attacks.   Even if everyone else does, Christians must not forget the spiritual root of this conflict. For over a century, God has been moving and the Church has been expanding across Africa. In 1900, there were only 9.64 million Christians on the continent. Today there are over 692 million, and they are among the most committed Christians in the world. It is not surprising that Satan would inspire their ongoing persecution.     For our Nigerian brothers and sisters, we can fight on two fronts. First, we must continue to lobby our government on their behalf, asking our officials to put pressure on Nigeria to take more decisive action against Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen. Second, we must lobby Heaven, for both our persecuted brothers and sisters and their persecutors, praying that God's kingdom would advance and win even the jihadis to Jesus.   For more resources to live like a Christian in this cultural moment, go to breakpoint.org.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Christmas Eve Nigerian Christian massacre Armed Muslim groups killed at least 96 people on Christmas Eve in Nigeria's central Plateau State. The attackers targeted twelve villages and burned over 200 homes. Another attack in the state on Sunday killed 16 more people. Christians in the area are under constant threat from suspected jihadists. Village Elder Yusuf Ibrahim told International Christian Concern, “We need more security in the community to celebrate Christmas very well. Yes, we are under attack by (radical) Fulani [Muslim] tribesmen. Pray for us.” Nigeria is ranked sixth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. Over 50,000 Christians have been killed in the country's Central Belt region over the last 20 years. Cameroon Catholic bishops condemn sexual perversion In nearby Cameroon, Africa, Catholic bishops are taking a stand against sexually perverted lifestyles. A recent declaration from the bishops says, “Homosexuality falsifies and corrupts human anthropology and trivializes sexuality, marriage and the family, the foundations of society. … We therefore declare non-compliant any form of blessing, public or private, that tends to recognize ‘same-sex couples' as a state of life.” The African bishops are responding to a recent statement from Pope Francis that permits some kind of blessing for homosexual couples. 2 Peter 2:1 says, “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” African and Asian illegals crossing U.S.-Mexico border Speaking of Africa, illegal immigration from Africa and Asia to the U.S. is growing rapidly.  Officials encountered 43% more migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border from outside Latin America and the Caribbean this year compared to last year. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is calling it “the highest level of mass migration since World War II.” Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson  sent a letter to President Joe Biden last Thursday, calling on him to take executive action for border security. Johnson wrote, “Statutory reforms designed to restore operational control at our southern border must be enacted, but the crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer. It must start now, and it must start with you.” National Archives Museum tried to censor pro-life message Last week, pro-lifers won a $10,000 settlement with the U.S. National Archives. Back in January, participants in the 50th annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. visited the National Archives Museum. Personnel there told them they had to leave unless they removed or covered the pro-life messages on their clothing.  With the help of the American Center for Law and Justice, the pro-lifers were able to challenge the National Archives on religious liberty grounds. The legal group said, “Our victory today ensures that they will be free from harassment and that their First Amendment rights will be protected should they choose to visit the National Archives and view the very documents that protect those sacred rights.” America is constitutional carry of guns majority nation Fox News reports the U.S. became a constitutional carry-majority nation this year. NRA executive vice president and CEO Wayne LaPierre told Fox News Digital, “The gun control lobby and their allies pledged to dismantle self-defense laws and the Second Amendment. That strategy has backfired. In 2021, there were 16 states with NRA Constitutional Carry. Just three years later, there are now 27 states.” Last year ended with Georgia becoming the 25th state to allow citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. Florida joined in March and was followed soon after by Nebraska. Many of the constitutional carry states are concentrated in the south and midwest. Christmas miracle: Arizona street preacher out of ICU after getting shot in head And finally, God blessed one Christian family with their own Christmas miracle.  An Arizona man is making stunning progress after being shot in the head last month while street preaching. Twenty-six-year-old Hans Schmidt was rushed to the hospital, and doctors didn't give him much of a chance of surviving. Now, he is out of the ICU, but still not able to fully communicate. His wife, Zulya, said, “We're hopeful, and we're praying, and we're contending for a supernatural recovery. But there's just so much unknown still, so much uncertainty. Every day we've been able to witness a miracle.” You can support the family through a GoFundMe link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com.  So far, people across America have contributed $64,153 toward Hans' medical expenses and their goal of raising $100,000. Psalm 56:13 says, “For You have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, December 27th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. In addition, Fulani Muslim militants grazed cattle on other people's property and destroyed produce that was intended for use at Christmas. Matthew 7:18-19 says, “Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.” Iran threatens to close Mediterranean Sea On Saturday, Iran threatened that the Mediterranean Sea could be “closed” if the U.S. and Israel continued “crimes” in Gaza, reports Reuters. The Iranian government has showed support for Muslim terrorist group Hamas in its war against Israel, while the U.S. has strongly backed Israel — despite growing criticism of the Israeli military's war effort. It is unclear how Iran would follow through on such a threat, as the country has no direct access to the Mediterranean Sea and no major naval presence outside the Persian Gulf. Supreme Court sidesteps decision on Trump presidential immunity Steering clear of a political firestorm for now, the US. Supreme Court said Friday it would not immediately decide the key question of whether Donald Trump has broad immunity for actions he took as president challenging his 2020 election loss, reports NBC News. Without comment, the court denied, special counsel Jack Smith's request asking the justices to circumvent the normal appeals court process and quickly decide the question, which looms large in Trump's prosecution in Washington over allegations of election interference. If Trump were to win on this threshold issue, the charges would be dismissed. If he loses, the legal proceedings in the trial court would continue. Did Trump purposely use Hitlerian language? In a December 22nd interview with conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt, former President Donald Trump defended his comments on immigration, while his critics accused him of using Hitlerian language for saying illegal immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country" during a recent campaign rally, reports The Epoch Times. Listen. HEWITT: “Mr. President, you've also said illegal immigrants are poisoning our blood. What do you mean by that?” TRUMP: “They're coming in from Asia, from Africa, from South America. They're coming from all over the world. They're coming from prisons. They're coming from mental institutions and insane asylums. They're terrorists. “Absolutely!  That's poisoning our country. That's poisoning the blood of our country. We have no idea who they are, where they are.” HEWITT: “Your critics say that you are using Hitlerian language that was used to dehumanize Jews by saying that ‘Jewish blood cannot be part of German blood.' Do you have anything like that in mind when you say ‘poisoning our blood'?” TRUMP: “No. And I never knew that Hitler said it either, by the way. And I never read Mein Kampf, [Adolph Hitler's book.] They said I read Mein Kampf.” HEWITT:  “So, you intend no racist sentiment whatsoever when you say poisoning our blood?” TRUMP: “If you look at the polls, I'm doing incredibly with African Americans, I'm doing incredibly with Hispanics, the highest numbers anyone's ever seen for a Republican candidate. The reason is they know me. Look what I've done. Criminal justice reform. I got the black colleges and universities funded. Nobody else did that. Opportunity zones with Tim Scott. I got that done.” HEWITT: “Your critics keep saying, ‘Oh, he wants to be Hitler. He's talking about poisoning our blood. He's trying to be a Nazi.' How do you respond to these people?” TRUMP: “I know nothing about him. I'm not a student of Hitler. They say that he said something about blood. He didn't say it the way I said it either. by the way. It's a very different kind of a statement. What I'm saying when I talk about people coming into our country is they are destroying our country. We have prisoners coming in. We have mental patients coming in by the thousands. I believe that number will be 15 million people, maybe more than that, by the time this lunatic, [Joe Biden], leaves office.” Planned Parenthood arranging secret out-of-state abortions A new undercover investigative video reveals that Planned Parenthood in Missouri is smuggling minor girls across state lines to get them abortions in Kansas due to Missouri's abortion ban, reports LifeSiteNews.com. JONES: “How old is she?” JOURNALIST: “She's 13. Her parents don't know yet.” LaShauna, the Planned Parenthood Managing Director, added her thoughts. LASHAUNA: “Yeah, we don't do them [abortions] here. We don't know them in Missouri. It's illegal. But we do have, I can give you a packet of the two locations that do it in Kansas. They have people that will come pick them up?” JOURNALIST: “Really? That would be so great. Thank you.” Both Priscilla Jones and LaShauna underscored the ease of procuring an abortion for a minor across state lines without her parents' knowledge. JONES: “If you're trying to do without parents knowing, then you need to call because they need to do a bypass.” LASHAUNA: “They will bypass without the parents. You just have to make sure you tell them that.” JOURNALIST: “What is a bypass?” LASHAUNA: “Just not letting the parents know.” JOURNALIST: “Great. So, I can bring her?” LASHAUNA: “Yeah, you just have to call and just tell them the situation and they'll walk you through everything.” John 8:44 describes Planned Parenthood and its minions to a “T.” “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Great American Family channel honors God And finally, the older she gets, the more actress Candace Cameron Bure feels called by God to take on projects that align with her Christian faith and inspire the next generation, reports The Christian Post. In April 2022, Bure was announced as the chief content officer for Great American Family, a network the actress says  puts God, family and country first, in stark contrast to much of the contact put forth by Hollywood, including the now pro-homosexual Hallmark movies. Bure said, "While not all of the films are faith-forward, you'll see that many of them have little hints of things that people do on a regular basis, like taking time to pray, whether it's praying before meals and before bedtime, or people just honoring God in different ways. Certainly, with our Christmas movies, we remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. The birth of a Savior is why we celebrate Christmas." Bure stars in the Great American Family's new movie, "My Christmas Hero," which pays tribute to the military. It's Monday, December 18th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Nigerian Christian mother released from jail After being imprisoned for over 500 days in Nigeria, a Christian mother of five, named Rhoda Jatau, has been released on bail and awaits a trial that could land her up to five more years behind bars if she is found guilty of so-called "blasphemy" against Islam, reports The Christian Post. According to Alliance Defending Freedom International, she is currently in an undisclosed location while she awaits trial for allegedly sharing a video that condemned the lynching of Christian college student Deborah Emmanuel Yakubu. Yakubu was a college student who attended a university in the northwestern Sokoto State who was falsely accused of blaspheming Islam after she posted a message on social media thanking Jesus for helping her pass an exam.  Following her post, the college student was targeted, set on fire, and murdered by classmates for sharing her Christian faith.  Outraged by the killing of a Christian college student, Jatau took to WhatsApp to condemn the murder of Deborah Yakubu in 2022. In response to her outward expression, a mob targeted the mother of five, had her arrested, and she was imprisoned in May 2022.  Although she has previously been denied bail multiple times, a judge in the Bauchi State recently granted bail to Jatau following an international outcry over her imprisonment. God has answered your prayers. Keep praying that she will be acquitted altogether. US and British navies shot down 15 attack drones over Red Sea A U.S. warship shot down 14 suspected attack drones over the Red Sea on Saturday, and a Royal Navy destroyer downed another drone that was targeting commercial ships, reports the Associated Press. Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by Iran, have launched a series of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, one of the world's busiest shipping routes, and have launched drones and missiles targeting Israel, as the Israel-Hamas War threatens to spread. U.S. Central Command said that the destroyer, USS Carney, “successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems” launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. U.K. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said that Her Majesty's Ship Diamond fired a Sea Viper missile and destroyed a drone that was “targeting merchant shipping.” The overnight action is the first time the Royal Navy has shot down an aerial target in anger since the 1991 Gulf War. New Zealand gov't to remove LHBT indoctrination from schools New Zealand's new government, a coalition between the center-right National party, the libertarian ACT party, and the populist New Zealand First party, has signaled that it will remove gender, sexuality, and relationship-based education guidelines in schools, reports LifeSiteNews.com. It is part of what the new government is describing as its “war on woke.” According to the New Zealand charity, Family First, the previous curriculum sought to “inject sexuality education into the rest of curriculum,” putting “schools at risk of becoming ideological and indoctrinatory spaces.” Primary age children were to “be addressed by their preferred name and pronouns.” Access to toilets had to “align with their gender identification.” And trans students were not required to use a gender-neutral toilet, but could choose the male or female toilets of their choice. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus warned, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Obama thinks Biden could lose the White House According to someone in Barack Obama's inner circle, the 44th president is concerned about Joe Biden's prospects for next year's election and “feels that Democrats very well could lose.”  The Wall Street Journal reports that Obama is troubled that Donald Trump is edging ahead in polls, and that voters are concerned with Biden's age and the economy as well as Biden's policies on immigration and Israel. Right now, Trump leads Biden by 2 points in the RealClearPolitics polling average.  Christian military veteran destroyed Satanic idol A Christian  former military officer has torn down and beheaded the Satanist statue that was erected in the Iowa State Capitol, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The Sentinel explained that on December 14, Michael Cassidy, who once served as a Navy pilot, “pushed over and decapitated the [Satanic] statue before he discarded the head in a trash can.”  The Satanic Temple of Iowa previously received permission to set up an exhibit that included a statue of the demonic idol Baphomet. The satanic display was installed in proximity to the Nativity scene on the first floor of the Capitol.   Cassidy told The Sentinel  he destroyed the shrine to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government. The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment.” He also said, “Anti-Christian values have steadily been mainstreamed more and more in recent decades, and Christians have largely acted like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot of water. I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged. My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted.” Cassidy echoed the words of Protestant reformer Martin Luther who refused to recant his Scriptural assertions despite the threats by Pope Leo X to excommunicate him. During Luther's trial in 1521, he famously declared, “Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe. God help me. Here I stand, I can do no other.” 116 US Soldiers Profess Faith in Jesus Christ During Church's Christmas event And finally, an Oklahoma pastor, whose church recently made headlines after seeing 116 Army soldiers accept Jesus Christ, said the mass embrace of faith was the result of his congregation's trusting in the Lord, reports Faithwire.com. Mike Keahbone, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Lawton, told CBN Digital that his church normally puts on its annual Living Christmas Tree musical, a massive Christmas show, for one weekend. But this year, after much prayer, they decided to not only add a second weekend, but also to provide dinner for the soldiers.  Word spread like wildfire.  Seven hundred soldiers showed up, most of whom were basic trainees. During its 42-year run, the church always presents the Good News in the midst of the Living Christmas Tree musical. Providentially, 116 indicated a decision to trust Christ as Savior.  Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” The church followed up with the chaplains who will now disciple the new believers among the soldiers. It's Monday, December 4th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 7 Christians Last Thursday, Nigerian Fulani Muslim herdsmen and other terrorists killed seven Christians in attacks on two villages in the Plateau State, Nigeria, reports Morning Star News. In a text message to the paper, Yohanna Markus reported, “Fulani herdsmen, together with a group of bandits, attacked two of our villages, Puka and Dinter, at 1:00 a.m. where they killed seven of our Christian villagers. Aside from those killed, who include five men and a woman, many other Christians were injured and are currently being treated for gunshot wounds and machete cuts.” Shockingly, 5,014 Nigerian Christians were killed for their faith in 2022, the largest number of martyrs worldwide. It also led the world in the most Christians abducted – a total of 4,726, sexually assaulted or harassed, forcibly married or physically or mentally abused. And it had the most homes and businesses attacked for faith-based reasons. No wonder International Christian Concern lists Nigeria as the most dangerous country worldwide for Christians in their 2023 Persecutors of the Year report. Henry Kissinger advocated for global depopulation As The Worldview reported last Friday, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger died recently at the age of 100. Apart from his public role in U.S. foreign policy, Kissinger was a key leader in the misguided global depopulation agenda, reports LifeSiteNews.com.  A 1974 National Security Study memo called “The Kissinger Report,” which was declassified in 1989, advocated for policies to drastically reduce fertility rates globally to combat so-called “overpopulation.” His plan became a reality a year later as President Gerald Ford signed National Security Decision 314. Furthermore, Kissinger was Klaus Schwab's mentor and helped him to found the globalist World Economic Forum. Shortly after the beginning of the COVID crisis in 2020, Kissinger called for a global “post-coronavirus order” and recommended a re-shaping of the global order similar to Klaus Schwab's plan, which was released later that year in his book COVID-19: The Great Reset. Psalm 127:3-5a declares, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!” Pro-abort Justice Sandra Day O'Connor died Retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court, died on Friday in Phoenix, reports CBS News. She was 93 years old. She had withdrawn from public life in 2018 after she was diagnosed with dementia. Despite having been appointed by then Republican President Ronald Reagan in 1981, she was the deciding vote, and one of three co-authors -- in the 1992 decision Planned Parenthood v. Casey which reaffirmed its landmark 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade, which had legalized abortion And O'Connor was also in the 5-4 majority in the 2000 case Bush v. Gore which effectively decided the election for George W. Bush. Congress expelled GOP Rep. George Santos of New York In an historic Friday vote, the U.S. House of Representatives expelled  GOP Rep. George Santos of New York, reports NBC News. House Speaker Mike Johnson announced the results. JOHNSON: “On this vote, the yeas are 311, the nays are 114, with two recorded as present. Two-thirds voting in the affirmative, the resolution is adopted. (gavel sounds) The clerk will notify the governor of the state of New York of the action of the House. Under clause 5d of Rule 20, the chair announces to the House that, in light of the expulsion of the gentleman from New York, Mr. Santos, the whole number of the House is now 434.” His term in office was marred by revelations that he lied about pretty much everything. SANTOS: “I've seen how socialism destroys people's lives because my grandparents survived the Holocaust.” That was not true. On Fox News, Santos was pressed on his claim that he was Jewish. SANTOS: “My heritage is Jewish. I've always identified as Jewish. I was raised a practicing Catholic. I've always joked with friends, and circles in the campaign, I say, ‘Guys, I'm Jew-ish.'” Exodus 20:16 says, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” REPORTER: “Is your plan to fully serve, stay in Congress? To not resign?” SANTOS: “Like I've said before, I'm staying in the office for sure.” But, after surviving two previous attempts to expel him this year, when a House ethics committee released a scathing 56-page report and a federal indictment charged him with 23 crimes such as wire fraud and money laundering, the writing appeared on the wall. Among the things he spent campaign funds on were rent, luxury designer goods, personal trips to Las Vegas and the Hamptons, cosmetic treatments, including Botox, and a subscription to pornography. He is now just the sixth person in U.S. history to be expelled from the House of Representatives. Three were ejected for disloyalty after they supported the Confederacy during the Civil War. Two others — Michael Myers, D-Pa., and James Traficant, D-Ohio — were expelled in 1980 and 2002, respectively, after they were convicted of federal crimes. New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul has 10 days to schedule a special election to fill Santos' seat.  Ron DeSantis debated Gavin Newsom on Fox News And finally, last Thursday, Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom and Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis faced off in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Fox News' 90-minute "Great Red vs. Blue State Debate," moderated by Fox News host Sean Hannity, reports The Christian Post. Listen to DeSantis talk about the so-called freedoms in California. DeSANTIS: “Gavin Newsom, at one point, tried to say that California was the Freedom State. I just kind of laughed. You're locking people down and you're doing all this. And then I thought about it. “California does have freedoms that other states don't. You have the freedom to defecate in public in California. You have the freedom to pitch a tent on Sunset Boulevard. You have the freedom to create a homeless encampment under a freeway and even light it on fire. You have the freedom to have an open-air drug market and use drugs. You have the freedom, if you're an illegal alien, to get all these taxpayer benefits. “So those are freedoms. They're not the freedoms our Founding Fathers envision, but they have contributed to the destruction of the quality of life in California. And the results speak for themselves. People are leaving the state because they have failed in addressing the homeless population.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, December 4th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. More Christians are killed in Nigeria than in any other country in the world. According to the charity Open Doors almost nine in ten of the more than 5,600 Christians murdered worldwide during 2022 were in Nigeria. A report by the British Parliament, Nigeria: Unfolding Genocide? Three Years On, was released this week, and highlights the massacres. ‘When will the world wake up to the persecution of Nigerian Christians?', asked a lone headline in the The Spectator magazine. Few other news outlets paid attention. This week, Unbelievable host Roger Bolton speaks to Archdeacon Hassan John, an Anglican minister from Jos in northern Nigeria who has lived through much of the violence. A former journalist, he is now a church leader and campaigner for religious liberty, who tries to bring reconciliation between Christians and Muslims in the region. Hassan recalls harrowing tales of near-miss encounters with Islamic extremists and on-going anti-Christian violence which continues to tear apart communities. He also discusses how he and other Christians attempt to work with Muslim in their communities to prevent the violence. The Unbelievable conversation will help listeners understand the complexity of the situation of Nigeria and beyond, as well as asking some of the bigger questions facing Christians being persecuted for their faith worldwide. Is it ever acceptable for Christians to respond to persecution with violence? How can Christians ever practice forgiveness and love for enemies who have killed or harmed their family and friends? And, more broadly, why does the Western media ignore the story in places like Nigeria? • Subscribe to the Unbelievable? podcast: https://pod.link/267142101 • More shows, free eBook & newsletter: https://premierunbelievable.com • For live events: http://www.unbelievable.live • For online learning: https://www.premierunbelievable.com/training • Support us in the USA: http://www.premierinsight.org/unbelievableshow • Support us in the rest of the world: https://www.premierunbelievable.com/donate

It's Tuesday, July 11th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 1,000 Nigerian Christians killed in last 30 days Nigeria has turned into the hardest place on Earth for Christians.   Equipping the Persecuted reports that over the last 30 days, more than 1,000 Christians have been brutally killed in Nigeria — a higher rate than ever for the genocide wrought by Muslims in that country since 2008.  Sound of Freedom takes 3rd place at box office Sound of Freedom. That's the major motion picture film addressing the problem of child trafficking. It took third place in the box office over the last week, topping $40 million, reports LifeSiteNews. The goal was to sell 2,000,000 tickets to mirror the number of children who have been trafficked globally.  Remarkably, they have already sold 3,863,582 tickets. Sound of Freedom experienced the most successful opening weekend for a religious film since 2014's Heaven is for Real. Watch the Sound of Freedom trailer and get tickets through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.    Muslim countries have worst slave trafficking The recently released 2022 United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Global Report on Trafficking in Persons finds that 28% of trafficked persons from Africa and Asia wind up in the Middle East, 10% in Western Europe, 8% in Eastern Asia, and 5% in North America. The Muslim countries again come out as the very worst for slave trafficking.  In relation to the prevention of child abuse and exploitation, Out of the Shadows.global finds the most unsafe nations in the world are largely Muslim countries.  The worst is Niger. Then comes Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Congo, Ethiopia, Algeria, and Pakistan.   The best places in the world are Canada, France, South Korea, Sweden, and Australia.  If you want to help fund the fight against trafficking, give a donation through Shared Hope International, a group which was featured on Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson in a conversation with former Congresswoman Linda Smith. Their website is www.SharedHope.org. Pervasive porn problem Approximately 35% of all internet downloads are related to pornography. Additionally, 77% of men aged 18-24 visited pornographic websites at least once per month.  And the use among younger men is increasing.   It is estimated to be worth around $97 billion, with annual revenue from U.S.-based companies alone reaching up to $14 billion.  The largest porn-consuming nations in the world are the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Brazil. Those three countries are followed by Japan, France, Mexico, the Philippines, Germany, Italy, Canada, Spain, and Egypt.   The United States, in first place, has 13 times the porn consumers per capita over the number two nation for porn which is the United Kingdom.  Of the major nations in the world, the most unsafe places for the crime of rape include Botswana, South Africa, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Australia, Belgium, and the United States.  71% of Americans support homosexual faux marriage Gallup's annual Values and Beliefs poll conducted back in May found that the number of Americans supporting homosexual mirage, has finally leveled at 71%. That's the same as last year, and up from 35% at the turn of the century. Support for homosexual relationships has dropped Yet the nation's support for same-sex relationships has dropped for the first time from 71% to 64% since last year. The largest demographic that has cooled its enthusiasm for this form of sexual perversion was Republicans — an appreciable drop from 56% support to 41% support.  Jeremiah 18:7-8 says, “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.” America's social conservatives rising The percent of Americans who call themselves socially conservative is climbing up as well — up to 38% from 30% in 2021.  That's the highest score since 2012.   The ratio of those who refer to themselves as socially liberal has slipped from 33% to 29%, according to the Gallup study.  Disney and Target stocks are down Disney stock closed around $88 yesterday. That's a 55% drop from a $195 high in 2021. Target stock stands at $132 — about half of where the stock stood in November 2021. Walmart stock is up slightly since 2021. What part is pop culture playing in the demise of Target?  Gospel singer Jimmy Levy's song, “Boycott Target,” squeezed out Taylor Swift for the #1 spot on iTunes around the first of June, reports Fox News.  Additionally, Levy's “Reclaim the Rainbow” took the #1 position again last week.  Let's keep in mind 1 John 2:17.  It says, “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Sky high mortgage rates Mortgage rates hit 7.22% last week. That's the highest for the year. Buyers are hesitant to jump in. And sellers are more hesitant to sell now that interest rates have doubled over the last 18 months.  Real estate purchase applications are down 22% last week, in a year-over-year comparison.  Layoffs in info tech, designer clothes, luxury cars, comm services Layoffs.fyi calculates a total of 216,000 layoffs thus far in 2023, compared to 165,000 layoffs in 2022 — most of which are technology jobs. Nonetheless, the bull markets for the first six months of 2023 were still the sectors including information technology, designer clothes, luxury cars, and communication services. By contrast, utilities, energy, and health care were the worst performing sectors in the U.S. stock market, reports MSN.  Worldview listeners weigh in from Texas, Rhode Island, & Guatemala Worldview listeners continue to email me about why they like the newscast at Adam@TheWorldview.com.  (Remember to include your whole name, city and state, and your country if outside America.) Mao was 28 years at it.--Yet, a surprising honest article from The Atlantic discovers Hern to have had a conscience.--He is human.--He celebrates Christmas. He holds a flimsy ethical justification, as if this is enough of a defense for the day of judgment. Here is a study of Psalm 52.--This program includes---1. It's Tuesday, April 18th, A.D. 2023.  This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigeria most dangerous place on Earth The most dangerous place on Earth today for Christians is Nigeria in terms of loss of life. The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law recently released a report estimating that, in 2022 alone, over 5,000 Nigerian Christians were killed and over 3,000 were kidnapped.  Another 1,000 have been killed in just the last three months. Those carrying out these attacks and kidnappings are believed to be members of radical Islamic terror groups including the Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, and the Islamic State West Africa Province. The report also holds the Nigerian military responsible for some of the killings.  Somalia's drought And Somalia, Africa is in the grip of drought. The United Nations estimates that 48,000 have died of starvation-related causes in the last year.  The World Food Program has announced that 1.8 million children under five face acute malnutrition. Plus, Somalia is the second most anti-Christian, persecuting country in the world on Open Doors' World Watch List — second only to North Korea.  SNL alumnus, Victoria Jackson, opposes homosexual behavior Former Saturday Night Live comedian and actress Victoria Jackson chimed in for the public comment period in Franklin, Tennessee last week in opposition to a “Homosexual Pride” parade, reports The Christian Post. The public was airing concerns about past violations of the city's Community Decency Policy and state law. Jackson, an outspoken Christian who is persona non grata in the modern acting community, didn't pull any punches. JACKSON:  "God hates sodomy. He hates homosexuality. He said it's an abomination. God hates sexual immorality, all kinds — fornication, adultery, etc. “And God hates pride. One of the things He hates most is pride.  Proverbs 11:2 --  ‘When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.'”  Sadly, Franklin, Tennessee Mayor Ken Moore broke the tie vote of 4-4 to approve of the Homosexual Pride event.  Minneapolis approves 5 daily Islam calls to prayer over speakers Minneapolis, Minnesota will be the first major city in America to allow the Islam religion to dominate the city, by broadcasting religious announcements to prayer five times a day for all to hear —  from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm, reports The Star Tribune. The City Council unanimously approved this exception to the city's noise ordinance last Thursday. Movies featuring sexual immorality bomb at box office The two biggest money losers at the box office last year were Disney's grooming films for kids: Lightyear and Strange World. Deadline.com reports that Strange World lost a whopping $197.4 million and Lightyear lost another $106 million. Both movies relied on homosexual plot lines. Another Disney-produced film, Amsterdam, lost $108.4 million. A very bad year for Disney. Wrapping up the list of the biggest money losers for 2022 was Babylon — a film celebrating the Revelation 18 depiction of Babylon with its sexual decadence and homosexual perversions.  1 John 2:17 says, “The world passes away with its lusts thereof, but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Bible Society poll: 86% think America in moral decline And finally, an American Bible Society poll found that 86% of U.S. adults believe the nation is in moral decline.   The reasons given are various — 26% of this group blame the decline on “lack of positive parental involvement,” 23% attribute the moral decline to “negative influence of media, movies or music,” and another 16% say the problem is “unhealthy reliance on social media for information on current events.” Then, 14% percent blamed the problem on “low level of respect for the Bible as a guide for moral development,” and another 13% of adults say the problem is “negative influence of government leaders.” The American Bible Society also found that Bible use in America has dropped off precipitously in the last three years, from 50% to 39% of U.S. adults.  Also, Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to use the Bible than Whites and Asians. Psalm 36:1-3 speaks to the cause of moral decline. “Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.  The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit. He has ceased to act wisely and do good.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, April 18th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Friday, April 14th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Muslim Nigerians killed 100 Christians on Easter Sunday Over the Easter weekend, 100 Nigerian Christians were murdered in Benue State and 1,500 additional believers were displaced, reports EquippingThePersecuted.org. Fifty others were hospitalized after Islamic terrorists, armed with assault rifles, opened fire at 200 refugees who were camping in a primary school 15 miles northwest of Makurdi, the state capital. Mr. Tarbo David, a resident who witnessed the attack, said they drove in on motorcycles, overpowered the six police officers, and walked from classroom to classroom, shooting the doors open, and then slaughtering the victims in their sleep with machetes and swords. Those who struggled or sought to escape were shot. Eight other residents in the surrounding area were also killed. Revelation 6:9-10 says, “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.  They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until You judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Equipping the Persecuted is raising $250,000 to help the wounded, the sick, and the displaced. These funds will go towards providing proper shelter, food, sleeping mats, and medicine. You can make a donation through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Robert F. Kennedy prepares presidential run Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president, ready to challenge Joe Biden for the nomination in 2024, reports ABC News. On Wednesday, Kennedy filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission. The son of Senator Robert Kennedy, who was assassinated on June 6, 1968, he has risen to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic for his books The Real Anthony Fauci, A Letter to Liberals: Censorship and COVID, and The Wuhan Cover-Up: How U.S. Health Officials Conspired with the Chinese Military to Hide the Origins of COVID-19. Kennedy, who founded Children's Health Defense, had been long involved in the anti-vaccine movement. KENNEDY: “The generation of American children, born after 1990, are arguably the sickest generation in the history of our country with chronic ailments and pediatric rates of some chronic conditions that are the highest in the world. For example, according to CDC, one in every six American children has been diagnosed with a developmental disability such as autism, ADD, ADHD, or learning disabilities. And, according to HHS, and astonishing 54% of American children has a chronic disease like rheumatoid arthritis or juvenile diabetes. “Our federal agencies are not asking an essential question, ‘What is debilitating America's children?' We need to know that answer and we need to stop these exposures to our children today! “The forces that I'm up against are forces that have been able to compromise every major institution in our democracy. And the people who stand up against them get crushed. But I know how to fight them because I've spent a lifetime fighting big shots and fighting bullies. And that's who they are. And that's who we're dealing with today, people who have that arrogance of power, people who believe that they can get away with anything, including destroying the lives of our children.” No doubt Kennedy will give President Biden a run for his money on both the COVID vaccine and the shutdowns. Man, pretending to be a woman, killed cab driver in Portland On Easter Sunday, a gender-confused man reportedly stabbed a taxi driver to death in Portland, Oregon, reports LifeSiteNews.  Moses Jacob Lopez, a man who pretends to be a woman, has been charged with murder and unlawful use of a weapon for allegedly killing a 43-year-old Radio Cab driver named Reese Lawhon, according to the Portland Police Bureau.   A video showed the 30-year-old Lopez getting in the cab while wearing “a tiara and women's clothing.” Church purchased & forgave $3 million in medical debt for residents And finally, more than 3,000 Davidson County, North Carolina residents no longer have to worry about being hassled by debt collectors after a local church recently purchased, and forgave, almost $3 million in their medical bills through the Debt Jubilee Project, reports the Lexington Dispatch. Rev. John Jackman of Trinity Moravian Church in Winston-Salem wants to help families who were working paycheck-to-paycheck before being driven into poverty by an illness or an accident. In the past three months, the campaign raised $15,048 in cash, which was used to purchase nearly $3.3 million in medical debts in Davidson, Davie and Yadkin counties in North Carolina. Each person whose debt was purchased and forgiven received an official letter that their debt was wiped away. Colossians 2:14 says, God has “forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, April 14th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
