Dennis is joined via Zoom by writer-director Elliot Tuttle to talk about his debut feature Blue Film, which is about a 20-something camboy who takes a lot of money to spend the night with an anonymous client, who ends up being a former school teacher and convicted sex offender from his small hometown. Elliot talks about why he wanted to tell this story, the knockout performances he got from his two actors, Reed Birney and Keiron Moore, keeping the budget low so he could total creative freedom and why he chose to use old camcorder footage as a visual motif in the film. Other topics include: Elliot working at Dennis's favorite L.A. revival house Vidiots, the role an intimacy coordinator played in the project, how he got to know and become mentored by indie film icon Mark Duplass and the movie review website he launched when he was ten.

#MenschMahler - Die Podcast Kolumne - podcast eins GmbH

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

It's Monday, June 1st, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Egypt grants legal status to 191 church buildings The Egyptian government released an order the week of May 18th granting legal status to 191 church buildings that previously lacked official recognition, reports International Christian Concern. In total, 3,804 churches and related buildings have been approved since the creation of a committee to review churches in 2016, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.  Thousands of churches and associated buildings have been built in recent decades. Still, the northeast African country of Egypt maintains a system for approving Christian places of worship that is separate from — and more difficult than — that for Sunni Muslim places of worship. According to Open Doors, Egypt is the 42nd most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. Pope Leo meets with pro-abort, pro-sex perversion Chicago mayor On May 28th, Pope Leo XIV met in a private audience with radical Chicago Democratic mayor Brandon Johnson, during which they reportedly discussed ICE raids in the city, slavery reparations, and the Iran war, but not key moral issues such as abortion and the homosexual transgender agenda, both of which Mayor Johnson supports, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The mayor has a radically pro-abortion and pro-sexual perversion record, previously pledging to offer free Abortion Kill Pills and to prosecute pro-life sidewalk counselors. And, in 2024, the mayor commemorated “National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.” At the time, Chicago Mayor Johnson said, “We commend the bravery and resilience of abortion providers and look forward to continuing to support their efforts to ensure that reproductive rights are upheld and respected. Together, we can resist attempts to roll back the progress we have made, ensuring Chicago remains a sanctuary for choice.” Notice, he failed to mention that the choice the mother makes is the choice to murder her innocent pre-born baby boy or baby girl. In God's conversation with the prophet Jeremiah, He said, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5) Supreme Court Justice Amy Barrett targeted in attempted swatting U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett was the target of an apparent “swatting” attempt after an unknown caller falsely reported gunfire at her Virginia residence, reports The Christian Post. On May 27th, Fairfax County police said that a caller contacted the department's nonemergency line claiming to have heard shots fired at Barrett's home. Officers quickly coordinated with Supreme Court Police assigned to the residence and determined the report was false. Texas Governor Abbott blasted Democrat James Talarico Appearing on Fox News Channel, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott blasted James Talarico, the Democrat Senatorial candidate, who will face off in the general election against Republican Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate this fall. Listen. ABBOTT: “Talarico himself said he has a record that he's going to run on. Let me tell you quickly about that record, about votes that he cast, not crazy things that he said. But he cast votes that support [Diversity, Equity and Inclusion] in our public schools, support defunding our law enforcement, supports boys in girls' sports, supports transition surgery for minors, supports a state income tax in the state of Texas, supports open border policies. “So, the votes he's cast set a record for how challenging he would be for any average Texan. You know, oftentimes you hear President Trump talk about a 90/10 issue, where 90% of the people are lined up on one side, 10% on the other side. Talarico's votes are on the 10% side.” How a small-town Arkansas man got God on America's money And finally, Matthew Rothert Sr., a Presbyterian furniture manufacturer and avid coin collector born in 1904, was at church in Chicago on June 21, 1953, when he believed the Holy Spirit impressed upon him the idea that the phrase "In God We Trust" should be featured on American banknotes as it did on coins, according to his daughter, Alice Rothert Nelson, reports The Christian Post. She said, "The collection plate was going around, and he felt God tell him that the coins had 'In God We Trust,' but it was the bills that went all around the world. And he believed he should get 'In God We Trust' on the bills of the paper money, and so that started the campaign." By way of background, "In God We Trust" was first engraved on U.S. coins during the Civil War, after Mark Richards Watkinson, a Baptist minister from Pennsylvania, petitioned then-Treasury Secretary Salmon Chase at the end of 1861 to promote "the recognition of the Almighty God in some form in our coins" amid the fading illusion of a short, relatively bloodless conflict. Pastor Watkinson told Chase, "You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were now shattered beyond recognition? Would not the antiquaries, [those who study history], in succeeding centuries, rightly reason, from our part, we were a heathen nation?" He saw the increasingly brutal, intractable war as a divine chastening that could destroy the country. Expressing hope that honoring God in such a public way "would relieve us from the [disgrace] of heathenism." Watkinson noted, "This would place us openly under the divine protection we have personally claimed. From my heart, I have felt our national shame in disowning God." Salmon Chase and James Pollock, a Presbyterian minister then serving as director of the U.S. Mint, agreed with Watkinson, ultimately leading Congress to pass a law in April 1864 allowing "In God We Trust" on the one- and two-cent pieces. Pollock said, “We claim to be a Christian nation—why should we not vindicate our character by honoring the God of Nations. Our national coinage should do this. Its legends and devices should declare our trust in God—in Him who is "King of Kings and Lord of Lords." AUDIO FROM DIVINE HYMNS: “King of kings and Lord of lords. Glory Hallelujah. King of kings and Lord of lords. Glory Hallelujah.” Revelation 19:16 says, “On [Christ's] robe and on His thigh, He has this name written: 'King of kings and Lord of lords.'” The U.S. Congress passed another law in March 1865 to place the words on all gold and silver coins, which was the last act President Abraham Lincoln signed before his assassination. Nearly a century later, the motto gained renewed attention when the United States found itself embattled again during the global tensions of the Cold War. Seeing its simple declaration of faith as a necessary contrast to the atheist communism that animated the Soviet Union, Matthew Rothert followed Watkinson's example. He gave speeches, rallied support, and fired off many letters to officials, including President Dwight Eisenhower and Treasury Secretary George Humphrey, urging them to add the phrase to paper money. In a 1987 interview, Matthew Rothert, at the age of 83, said, "The Lord seemed to tell me to do this. He put the idea so strongly in my mind that I worked on it until I accomplished my goal. I realized the circulation of American coins was limited to the boundaries of the country, while U.S. paper money circulated worldwide. It looked like Americans were saying they trusted in God only a few cents' worth!" In an unusually swift and bipartisan action, the bill was on President Eisenhower's desk by July 11, 1955. Changing the master dies and printing plates at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to include "In God We Trust" would typically have been too cost-prohibitive, but, providentially, they were already set to be replaced that year to accommodate a new printing process. And now you know the rest of the story! Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, June 1st, in the year of our Lord 2026. Wer verlängert den Ukrainekrieg? | Von Uwe Froschauer

apolut: Standpunkte

...https://apolut.net/wer-verlangert-den-ukrainekrieg-von-uwe-froschauer/ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

It's Thursday, April 23rd, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Egyptian Christian convert from Islam imprisoned A Christian convert in Egypt faced a court hearing for his faith this week. Said Abdelrazek previously converted from Islam to Christianity. He then tried to change his identity documents to reflect his conversion. That's when authorities charged him with terrorism-related offenses. He is now an internationally recognized prisoner of conscience.  Prisoners in such cases often face a lack of due process. International Christian Concern notes, “Abdelrazek's situation reflects broader challenges facing religious minorities and converts in Egypt. While the country's constitution nominally guarantees freedom of belief, converts from Islam often face severe social pressure, legal obstacles, and security scrutiny.”   Israel celebrates sexual perversion in land of Sodom and Gomorrah The government of Israel promoted an event to celebrate sexually perverted lifestyles in June. Ironically, the event is being held at the Dead Sea. The region is traditionally associated with the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  A post from the official X account of Israel  said, “This June the Dead Sea becomes Pride Land, the biggest LBGTQ+ festival ever in the Middle East.” Ezekiel 16:49-50 warns, “This was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.” In light of the historical judgment of God upon Sodom and Gomorrah for the sins of sexual perversion, Israel should know better. Judges 3:12 says, “Once again, the Israelites did evil in the LORD's sight.”  Tennessee declared June as Nuclear Family Month Meanwhile, in the United States, Tennessee, by contrast, has declared June as Nuclear Family Month. Republican Governor Bill Lee signed the resolution earlier this month after it passed the state's House and Senate.  The measure says, “The nuclear family, consisting of one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children, is God's design for familial structure and has been the bedrock of society since the creation of the world.” 325,000 foster children need a home Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Health and Human Services Secretary, testified before Congress last week about foster care. Currently, there are two children for every available foster family. This is because the Biden administration was excluding many Christian families from the system for their beliefs.  The Trump administration has worked to remove that policy. Since then, the number of foster children needing homes has dropped from 425,000 to 325,000. Southern Poverty Law Center funneled $3 million to extremist groups The U.S. Department of Justice announced an indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center on Tuesday.  Shockingly, the far-left group funneled over three million dollars to violent extremist groups including the Ku Klux Klan, the United Klans of America, Unite the Right, the National Alliance, the National Socialist Movement, and the American Nazi Party. The Southern Poverty Law Center is known for smearing conservative and Christian organizations as “hate groups.” Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson said, “Donors gave their money believing they were supporting the fight against violent extremism. As alleged, the [Southern Poverty Law Center] instead diverted a portion of those funds to benefit individuals and groups they claimed to oppose.” Texas Tech ends all academic gender confusion programs The Texas Tech University System announced this month it is ending all academic programs that endorse gender confusion. A memo from the university system stated, “Instructors may not teach that gender identity is a fluid spectrum, endorse the existence of more than two genders, or decouple gender from biological sex as a factual or scientific baseline.” The Texas Tech University System includes five member universities with over 64,000 students.  President Trump participated in “America Reads the Bible” And finally, the America Reads the Bible event began on Sunday at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of political and religious leaders are participating in reading the entire Bible aloud over the course of this week.  President Donald Trump also participated in the event. He read a portion of 2 Chronicles 7 from the Oval Office on Tuesday.  Listen. TRUMP: “The Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place to Myself for a house of sacrifice. If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ... “But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods and worship them, then will I pluck them up from the roots out of My land which I have given them, and this house which I have sanctified for My name, will I cast out of My sight and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among nations.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, April 23rd, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. We discuss why men who claim to be women by identifying as transgender are almost all exclusively perverts. Using Lacan's concept of perversion and what perversity of mind entails we link fetishism, sexual offending, and the need for others to collude in ‘disavowing' the rules of reality.‘Transwomen' are guided at all times by the knowledge they are men, so the idea they are a woman is not quite a delusion, but rather a perverse way of relating. This creates an integral need for others to affirm and validate that false claim as a source of collusion in their ‘disavowal' as if the laws of reality somehow do not apply to them. Why is Lacan's concept of the perverse useful? It offers a theoretical psychoanalytic perspective why ‘transwomen' continually raise the stakes, push boundaries, and why an erotic charge accompanies it, as well as their incandescent rage when the other won't pretend and agree they are women. It also explains why there's such a higher than average rate of sexual offending for ‘transwomen' and a confident belief that anyone at all would join in to pretend that men can be women.

The Sony Pictures Television miniseries aims to dramatize Epstein's crimes and the investigation that uncovered them, with Dern reportedly in talks to portray Julie K Brown, a journalist whose reporting in the Miami Herald renewed scrutiny of Epstein's case. The series will likely draw from Brown's book, *Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story*, encompassing her years of reporting that identified numerous victims and contributed to the arrest of Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Prince Andrew's decision to host a party for Ghislaine Maxwell at Sandringham—where sex drugs like poppers were reportedly found—reads less like royal history and more like a bad dark comedy. The idea of a Queen's residence being turned into something resembling a low-rent Sopranos episode is almost surreal. The whole scene feels like parody: the Duke of York, standing beneath portraits of British monarchs, presiding over a soirée that sounds like Downton Abbey crashing headfirst into Trainspotting. It's especially grotesque given Epstein's reputation for avoiding drugs himself—he didn't need them, he used them on others. The thought of those same tools of control and exploitation making their way into a royal estate is equal parts absurd and revolting. What makes it worse is the total lack of accountability. The Palace still tries to frame these scandals as “private matters,” as though international sex trafficking and narcotics at royal residences can be brushed under the Windsor rug. Every new revelation cements Andrew as a man incapable of understanding—or even pretending to care about—the damage he's done to the Crown's image. Once considered a symbol of British decorum, Sandringham now sits as a monument to how far the monarchy has fallen, its history tainted by the stench of scandal and the arrogance of a prince who believed himself untouchable. In the end, Prince Andrew didn't just disgrace himself—he made royal scandal feel like a recurring sketch in a show that refuses to end.to contact me:source:Sex drugs 'found at party' disgraced Andrew hosted for Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in Sandringham, new Royal book claims | Daily Mail Online

It's Wednesday, March 18th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Timothy Reed Swedish Christian family guilty of “religious extremism” for going to church The European Court of Human Rights refused to hear an appeal of a Swedish Christian family in a case involving parental rights and religious freedom. Back in 2022, officials in Sweden separated Daniel and Bianca Samson from their two eldest daughters. The state found no evidence of abuse but accused the family of “religious extremism” for simply attending church three times a week. Morales Sancho, Legal Counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom International, stated, “The element of religious discrimination is also unmistakable in this case. The state labeled the family as religious extremists solely because of their active practice of their Christian faith.” Psalm 14:4 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD?” Swedish population embraces sexual perversion Sadly, people in Sweden are the most likely to view homosexuality as morally acceptable in a recent Pew Research survey. The study surveyed 30,000 people across 25 countries. People in European countries were also among the most likely to be morally accepting of homosexuality, abortion, and divorce.   Christianity's decline in England People in Britain are worried about the decline of Christianity in the nation. A study by Whitestone Insight found that 52% of Brits believe that drifting from their Christian roots is bad for future generations. Fifty-eight percent also said that Christianity plays a beneficial role in public life.  This comes as Christian identification has declined. Only 44% of adults in Britain identified as Christian last year, down from 54% in 2018. Carrie Prejean, who objected to Zionism, was fired by Trump's religious liberty commissionIn the United States, a member of the U.S. President's Religious Liberty Commission, Carrie Prejean Boller, was removed from her position after she registered opposition to Zionism last month.  A recent convert to Catholicism, Boller challenged the tenets of Zionism, claiming they were incompatible with her faith. She also sent a letter to President Donald Trump after her removal, explaining her misgivings. She appeared on the podcast of LifeSiteNews.com editor John-Henry Western. BOLLER: “I know there's three Catholics that are thinking about running for president in 2028 so I don't think now is the time to really dismiss Catholics, fire Catholics, remove Catholics, simply because I'm standing up for my Catholic faith. “So, I'm hopeful that he's going to make the right decision. Otherwise, this religious liberty commission should be completely shut down. If I don't have my religious freedom on a Religious Freedom Commission, it's not a religious freedom commission.” Christian workplaces thrive Employees in Christian-led workplaces report high levels of engagement in their work according to a new report.  The State of the Christian Workplace 2026 report released new data on 40,000 employees in over 400 Christian organizations in the U.S. Sixty-one percent of employees in Christian-led workplaces reported being engaged in their work. These engagement levels are nearly twice that of the U.S. workforce overall.  Jay Bransford, President & CEO of Best Christian Workplaces, noted, “Engaged employees bring energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and passion that directly fuel Kingdom impact.” Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” U.S. federal workforce shrunk by 10.3% Pew Research reports that the U.S. federal workforce shrank by 10.3 percent in 2025.  Nearly 350,000 people quit, retired, were laid off, or otherwise left the federal government last year. That's an 80 percent increase compared to 2024. Agencies with the most job cuts included the U.S. Agency for International Development, the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities, and the Education Department. 18-year-old rescues brother from axe-wielding man And finally, an 18-year-old is thanking God after protecting his brother from an ax-wielding man in Florida over the weekend.  Fox News reports Leodan Pino and his 16-year-old brother were closing up a car wash in Ocala. That's when the suspect approached while yelling and threatening.  Pino told the man he had to leave. The man refused and pulled out an ax.  Thankfully, Pino is a military recruit and trained in mixed martial arts. He proceeded to execute a take down and subdued the suspect until police arrived.  Listen to his comments afterward.  PINO: “I'm very thankful that God gave me the opportunity and gave me the strength to be able to control that situation. Very thankful that I was the one closing with my brother and no one else was. Because I'm not too sure if any of my co-workers would have done the same thing as I would have.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, March 18th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Hawk breaks down the newly released Justice Department files revealing that Jean-Luc Brunel, the French modeling scout and one of Jeffrey Epstein's closest associates, was secretly negotiating with federal prosecutors in 2016 and was prepared to hand over incriminating photographs and testify about Epstein's sex trafficking operation. Brunel's lawyer told prosecutors his client had recruited girls for Epstein and was willing to walk into the US Attorney's Office in New York in exchange for immunity. Then Epstein found out. Emails now part of the document dump show Epstein immediately contacted Katherine Rummler, then a prominent attorney and later Goldman Sachs general counsel, who has since resigned. Epstein's outreach effectively shut down Brunel's cooperation, and prosecutors never pursued him further. More than 50 additional girls were trafficked in the three years that followed. The files also expose how Epstein used Brunel's modeling agency MC2, which Epstein helped bankroll with up to $1 million, as a vehicle to recruit foreign women, secure their work visas, and keep them financially dependent. A recruiter named Daniel Sead supplied girls from Sweden, Slovakia, France, and Russia. Virginia Giuffre had alleged Brunel trafficked girls as young as 12. Brunel was arrested in France in 2020 on rape charges and was found hanged in his cell in 2022.

Jim Osman continues his examination of false teachers in 2 Peter 2, focusing on their perversions and moral corruption. Opening with a sobering account of the Mike Bickle scandal and how charismatic leaders failed to discern his true character despite decades of abuse, Osman demonstrates why Peter's warnings remain urgent for today's church. He exposes three defining characteristics of false teachers: they are shameless in their debauchery, sensual in their unrestrained lust, and seductive in how they bait unstable souls. Osman explains how these teachers have eyes full of adultery and hearts trained in greed—applying the same discipline to their wickedness that athletes apply to their sport. He reveals how false teachers exploit people's desires for prosperity, sexual license, and spiritual pride to lure them into destructive heresies. The message includes a passionate call for believers to apply diligence in pursuing holiness and grounding themselves in truth, so they won't become easy marks for those who promise freedom while enslaving others in corruption. Osman shows that when false teachers fall into sexual scandal, it shouldn't surprise us—Peter warned us this is their nature and their consistent pattern throughout church history.  ★ Support this podcast ★

Jim Osman returns to 2 Peter 2 with a hard-hitting examination of false teachers and their defining characteristics. In verses 10-13, Peter paints a vivid portrait of those who infiltrate the church with destructive heresies, and Osman carefully unpacks what makes these teachers so dangerous. The passage reveals three striking indicators of their pride: they are insolent in their blasphemy of spiritual beings, irrational like animals driven by instinct, and ignorant of the very subjects they claim to master. Osman draws sobering parallels to modern movements within evangelicalism—from female preachers who defy biblical teaching roles to charismatic "demon slayers" who mock spiritual authorities with reckless presumption. He explains why even holy angels refuse to revile fallen demons, yet these false teachers rush in where angels fear to tread. The message includes practical guidance on identifying these teachers by their specific behaviors and attitudes, showing how Scripture equips believers to mark and avoid those who would lead them astray. Osman's exposition demonstrates that false teachers are not difficult to spot when measured against Peter's clear biblical criteria. ★ Support this podcast ★

The Syntax of Trauma: Parasitic Language, Metaphor and Metonymy with Dana Amir, PhD (Haifa, Israel)

"A saturated state is a state in which the conceptual or emotional object has absolute value, it is already stacked or closed to new meanings and therefore cannot undergo any kind of transformation. An unsaturated state, on the other hand, is a state in which the emotional or conceptual object is in an open state in which it is still open to transformation, to new meanings, to all kinds of change. What I think is interesting and important is to understand that one of the most difficult aims of working with traumatic objects is linked to this transformation from saturated to unsaturated states. Traumatic objects become fixed in a saturated state, which does not allow them to undergo any transformation within the psyche or within the therapeutic analytic process. The saturated state of traumatic events or objects is a frozen state in which therapy or analysis is used to preserve rather than intervene. This creates, in quite a few cases, a situation that I call false therapy or false analysis - a process, a therapeutic process in which very detailed materials are ostensibly presented, but in fact they are presented in a way that forces the therapist or  to either swallow them as they are, or vomit them up but not digest them because they are presented in a way that does not tolerate any intervention, any other point of view, any creation of movement within the given frozen narrative."   Episode Description: We begin with describing the difference between 'saturated' and 'unsaturated' memories - those that are frozen and without the freedom to reflect from those that contain the capacity to create new meaning. Dana emphasizes the importance of not simply collecting the particulars of a trauma, the 'notes', as much as attending to the nature of its delivery, the 'music' - "the way they tell the story." She presents a case involving 'parasitic language' where imitation of the other is at the level of fetishistic attachment lacking a voice of their own. In her countertransference she noted "I search for you - all I find is myself." We consider how this pseudo-relating induces a peculiar sense of closeness that ultimately contributes to a sense of claustrophobia in the analyst. She shares with us her personal story and reflects "Being a psychoanalyst doesn't mean giving up being a musician." Dana concludes with reading her final paragraph on 'forgiveness.'   Our Guest: Dana Amir, PhD., is a clinical psychologist, supervising and training analyst at the Israel Psychoanalytic Society, full professor, and head of the interdisciplinary doctoral program in psychoanalysis at the Zramim Postgraduate Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at Haifa University, poetess and literature researcher. She is the author of seven poetry books, four memoirs in prose, and five psychoanalytic books published by Routledge. When firefighters discovered the body of forty-year-old Terry King inside the charred remains of his Cantonment, Florida home in November 2001, they assumed the man had been asleep when the fire broke out and died as a result. Upon further inspection, investigators found that King hadn't died as a result of the fire, but from severe blunt force trauma to his head. And even more alarming than that was the fact that King's two boys, thirteen-year-old Derek and twelve-year-old Alex, were missing.Having occurred immediately in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Terry King's murder could have easily been one of many tragedies lost in the fog of national trauma and grief; however, when King's killers were arrested and identified in the days that followed, the story was so shocking, and the motive so heartbreaking, that it managed to break through the wall-to-wall coverage of the attacks. ReferencesAssociated Press. 2002. Epstein and Trump: Follow the Money, Follow the Monsters - TEASER

Gaslit Nation

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 14, 2025 18:50

Two weeks ago, Gaslit Nation pointed out that Vance is grooming the Christian nationalist movement to accept him as Trump's replacement. Turns out Vance knew–they all knew–that the Epstein paper trail was radioactive. The House released explosive Epstein documents that confirm what Gaslit Nation listeners already knew: the real story is not what's been revealed, but what's still being buried. We will continue to unpack this story as it develops, including the Kremlin connection as Epstein tried to advise Russia when it came to Trump.  For now, the Big Takeaways:  The emails released came from the Epstein estate. So what might Trump's DOJ and FBI be sitting on?: Photos, videos, and unredacted FBI and CIA files. Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown, whose investigations helped bring down Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and the resignation of Trump labor secretary Alex Acosta who gave Epstein a "sweetheart deal" and was rewarded with a White House cabinet position, confirmed that thousands of records remain hidden, including: Epstein's original 2008 sex-trafficking indictment draft Search warrants from 2005 and 2019 raids Full lists of possible suspects and accomplices Witness statements and FBI and CIA files Autopsy and investigatory interviews into Epstein's death in prison The new release contains an April 2011 email from Epstein to Maxwell indicating that she misled the DOJ: she knew Trump had spent hours at Epstein's mansion with one of his victims. Epstein himself confirmed Trump's guilt, writing: "I have met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump." Epstein confirms that Trump knew about his pedophile ring. Of course he knew: That's why they were friends. The Epstein/Trump dump exposes Larry Summers, Clinton's Treasury Secretary and an economic adviser to Obama, decrying the MeToo movement in a private email to Epstein and making a sexist joke about women being stupid. Summers was the former president of Harvard University. Michael Wolff, media gossip profiteer and Trump whisperer, provided Epstein and sometimes Trump via Epstein with media consulting–in exchange for access to write his bestselling books. He was even Epstein's behind-the-scenes PR fixer during the Miami Herald investigations. Given that Epstein's victims have successfully sued banks for managing Epstein's human trafficking money, expect to see cases brought against Wolff. MAGA world is imploding. Trump huddled in the Situation Room with Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Lauren Boebert to stop the House vote. Boebert reportedly refused–likely because she faces a tough re-election campaign in a blue wave year. A new Democratic majority that finally includes Rep. Adelita Grijalva of Arizona will get their House vote to force the release of the full Epstein files. Once it passes the House, it still needs to clear 60 votes in the Senate. Trump is expected to veto it–after he and the MAGA disinformation machine ran on releasing the Epstein files, even accusing Biden of molesting his own daughter. The Bible in a Year (with Fr. Mike Schmitz)

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 1, 2025 26:35

Fr. Mike reflects on the story of Susanna's righteousness in the book of Daniel. While celebrating Susanna's virtue, Daniel's wisdom, and God's faithfulness, Fr. Mike also warns us that, like the corrupt elders in the story, we too can allow our hearts to become perverted by the things we fix our eyes on. The readings are Jeremiah 30, Daniel 12-13, and Proverbs 16:17-20. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.
