King Ahaziah's Mistake and Elijah's ProphecyIn this episode, the story of King Ahaziah from the Bible is discussed. Instead of calling on God for healing, Ahaziah sought help from Beelzebub, a false god. This angered God, who then sent the prophet Elijah to convey a message to the king. Elijah informed Ahaziah that because he trusted in a false god rather than God, he would not recover from his illness and would die. The episode delves into the details of this biblical encounter and its implications. Prabhupāda used to go on morning walks, so it's an enlivening practice. Don't you think? The sun is coming up? Feel that the whole world you can see revealed is Kṛṣṇa's energies. It's very sweet. Shall we mosey back? I wanted to show you something along the way. There is a shop on the corner; they have a little neon sign in the window. In Toronto, I noticed when we were there during the pandemic a couple of years ago that a lot of people had these little neon purple hearts in their windows, about this big. And I traced it out and found out where they were made. It was a movement to honor the first responders during the pandemic and also to give some donations. I found the company that makes them, so we're working on a little design. We're looking at a few designs to make a small neon thing, and when somebody gets a Bhāgavatam set, we'll give them one of those things. It's not that expensive; they could plug it in and put it in their window. Then, wherever we go, we can look and see if they have a Bhāgavatam set. It would be like one of those shelters during a tsunami or anything. If anybody needs to, they can knock on the door and say, “Could you just read me some Bhāgavatam?” We want to make it a movement so it goes all over the world. We will see who has Bhāgavatam, and people will catch on that they should keep a Bhāgavatam in their house. That way, we could flood the world with Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Prabhupāda said that you should continue chanting to become one-minded with the mantra. See, when you don't perceive anything else except the mantra, then you're happy. The mind's always darting here and there and considering, like, 'What's going to happen?' Nothing, because you're right here, always right now. It's just a movie that's playing. So when we can take shelter of the holy name and actually be one-minded, and we're only there with the holy name, which is Kṛṣṇa, we're there with Kṛṣṇa, then we're satisfied. So we have to be with it until the end. And effort means that we have free will. We have to use our energy to do something, to lift up, to try. It's not that the rope comes down, and we say, 'Thanks for the rope, but come down here and tie it around my hand. Otherwise, I'm not going to do it.' We have to take some effort. That's in the story of Yaśodā tying Kṛṣṇa. This is two inches, right? And the one inch, Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura says, is our effort, because when Kṛṣṇa saw that Yaśodā was perspiring and giving her effort, then He extended the other inch, which was, 'Okay, I'll let you tie Me.' So we have to put our effort in. Determination, effort. It's not just automatic it happens. We have to be there in the relationship, not that I have to develop faith in Kṛṣṇa.' He has to develop faith in you, in us. He has to see, like, 'This person's good for it. They're doing their due diligence. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The word "attend" has the word "ten" in it. It's Latin. "Ten" is the same word in tendon, which holds together muscle and bone. It also means to stretch towards something, to give it special attention. At-ten-tion. It's there also, intention. So, when we attend to the mantra, we're holding on, we're stretching towards it, always keeping the mantra. And on my screen, I was just noticing that I left four items behind because I have those little air tags. And I was thinking how, if you chant the mantra, you'll get a little notice: "Four anarthas left behind," really, because Kṛṣṇa purifies us by the sound vibration. But we have to be innocent and we have to be sincere and really try to attend to the mantra always. This instruction this morning about just listen to the sound vibration, try to hear it, don't interpret it, but just be very patient and accept that it's an avatār of Kṛṣṇa in sound. Then everything's revealed. Kṛṣṇa (04:30). ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japawalk #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
If you want to find the ultimate thing, you have to ask the question and if you want to acquire something, you have to ask about it. And whatever you ask about, that's what you're going to get. So if you just ask about the basic necessities of life, you get what the snails get: just a little grass. But if you ask about God, then you can get that. So the Brahma-sūtra says, "Athāto Brahma-jijñāsā." Now you should ask, who is Brahman? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
I was just thinking, also, about yesterday. We went out. It's an ocean out there, and people are coming from every direction. You don't know who they are, where they're coming from. I was thinking of the churning of the milk ocean when the devas and the asuras came together for the yajña. It was Viṣṇu's wish that they did this yajña. So, they threw all the ingredients into the ocean. And then, of course, with the help of The Lord at every step, because they couldn't even carry them out by themselves. But when they started churning, then of course, Hālāhala poison came out. And then there was Lakṣmī Jī and all the different entities. Saṅkīrtana is like that. It's the yajna, yuga-dharma. When we go out and attempt to distribute the holy names, the Bhāgavatam, and the Bhagavad-gītā, it's like churning in that crowd, and you don't know who's going to come out of it. Yesterday, on the way home, I got a note from somebody on our team about a person who had written in and said that many years ago, they got a book at a motel, and they didn't think anything of it. They said, "We stole it." It was a Bhagavad-gītā, and they said, "We also got some packet at Los Angeles Ratha-yātrā; somebody handed us one. We had them all, and we didn't do anything about it." He said, "But now I'm chanting. I'm reading. I'm part of the program." So the yajña is very potent because The Holy Name always has a supreme effect, even if somebody accidentally does it, what to speak of jokingly. I was thinking yesterday, too, there were so many challenges. Somebody called me a white devil. Another kid, when I asked about karma, he had some—he was very pugnacious and wanted to challenge the whole idea of morality and everything. It was like everywhere you go, there's some challenge, and it's very healthy to go out and be part of that polishing process where you're getting hit from every side, and then you are endeavoring to give people Holy Names. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japawalk #sankirtan #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the 14th Chapter of the 10th Canto that when people have a home, if it doesn't have Kṛṣṇa Consciousness inside, then it becomes like a prison. They're locked in, can't get out. Every realm is defined by the sound vibration. So you can have a fancy house, but once you are locked in there, you're stuck with the sound vibration that's inside. If the sound vibration is mundane, then it doesn't matter how fancy the house is, you'll be in hellish consciousness. And by the same principle, if you're even in the simplest environment, if the vibration is pure, then you're not in the material world. You're in the transcendental realm, as the realm is defined by the transcendental sound vibration. I once lived in Bhuvaneśvara in a little hut, went to my god-brother, and HH Gaura Govinda Mahārāja was staying there too. We had no facility, except for we would cook on a little fire, and Mahārāja would give class in the morning sitting on just a little wooden platform. There was nothing around at that time. But we were just completely happy, just a little khichḍī. We would sleep on the dirt floor in that hut and then listen to Bhāgavatam and chant, and then go to Jagannāth Purī. And it's a blissful life. So this grandiose society, everyone's trying to find happiness by developing materially, but they don't know the principle, which is sound vibration. So it's our job to introduce the science of Kṛṣṇa consciousness so people can transform their lives by upgrading their soundtrack and making sure that they include The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra. They could even put Gaura Nitāi in their house. What a difference that would make! You could spend $5 million on a house on the street that's on the low side. We looked it up. One house is for sale down here. It's 4.2; it's the crappiest house on the block. But if there's no Gaura Nitāi inside any of these places, then what is the use? Soft pillows and a bed? It's just the exact same thing. That's what Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the beginning of the Second Canto of Bhāgavatam you know, just live simply and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and be happy. Or if you live in a nice place so more people can come, it doesn't disturb us either because the main thing is the vibration—keeping the transcendental little vibration going. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
He is our little vegan friend (pointing to a snail on the sidewalk). He is informed from within by the Supersoul, but I'm not sure where he's going now, because it doesn't look promising, does it? You can see how hapless living entities who have no guidance can wander into some place that is extremely dangerous and be stepped on by material nature. So, it's there in the Bhagavatām: 'samāśritā ye pada-pallava-plavaṁ mahat-padaṁ puṇya-yaśo murāreḥ bhavāmbudhir vatsa-padaṁ paraṁ padaṁ padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām (SB 10.14.58).' The material world is vipadam; it's very dangerous. Any step—your step or somebody else's step—can crush you. So that's like material nature. Here's the Virajā, maybe here's Vaikuntha . So, the avatāra comes and just intervenes. "I'm really sorry, my little vegan friend. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. We love you very much. Please tell all your friends to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, and please, in your next life, come back to our program for going back to Godhead. But for now, we'd like to introduce you to a more lush environment. Please enjoy the salad bar, all you can eat. In this special Daily Thunder, Eric and Nathan reflect upon their current series and mention that we are currently taking a three week break from Daily Thunder. We jump back into Spiritual Lessons from the Wright Brothers and the Awful Fear of the Lord on September 10.
Huffman Prairie represents a significant chapter in the Wright Brother's story, but a “Huffman Prairie” chapter is certainly not unique to them. It's a chapter that each of us must pass through. And how we pass through it defines whether or not we fulfill our high calling and actually fly.
And the second verse—one of the two Prabhupāda's most-quoted verses, there are only two out of that whole chapter (SB 10.33: The Rasa Lila) —is: "vikrīḍitaṁ vraja-vadhūbhir idaṁ ca viṣṇoḥ śraddhānvito 'nuśṛṇuyād atha varṇayed yaḥ bhaktiṁ parāṁ bhagavati pratilabhya kāmaṁ hṛd-rogam āśv apahinoty acireṇa dhīraḥ (SB 10.33.39)." The topics of Kṛṣṇa, especially His consorting with the gopīs of Vṛndāvan, have so much spiritual potency that, śraddhānvito 'nuśṛṇuyād, if somebody faithfully hears them, if they have the context and they understand the other verse, then, such a person very quickly, acireṇa dhīraḥ, that person becomes dhīra. He's not affected by the material world anymore, which is interesting because it's a love story. But by hearing that story, one becomes immune to the so-called "love story" of the material world that everyone is affected by. Everyone is overtaken by Cupid in the material world; nobody can get out of it. It's too powerful. But the potency of Kṛṣṇa kathā is such that if one hears that and understands Kṛṣṇa's position—"dharma-vyatikramo dṛṣṭa īśvarāṇāṁ ca sāhasam"—He's an Īśvara. He's like fire; he can't be contaminated. So, what is taking place there? If one could understand that topic, then 'acireṇa dhīra,' very quickly, one becomes sober and not affected by the material world. What to speak of, 'bhaktim, Param Bhagavati, pratilabhya kama,' he attains the highest level of bhakti and overcomes the "dread disease of the heart," which is Kāma, the lust of the material world. What do you think? Audience: That's very powerful. It's very interesting because if you look at the selected verses throughout the 10th Canto, you can gain something by seeing which ones Prabhupada quoted the most and which topic he was on, what was his thread when you go through. But I just noted that those are the two from the Rasalīlā chapter. He could have quoted something more rasika on a regular basis, but he gave these verses that give context so that one could enter into them properly. In this second episode of our four-week series on the Book of Ruth, Pastor Karl explores the theme of God's providence as seen in Ruth Chapter 2. He delves into the distinction between God's miracles and His providence, emphasizing how God supernaturally orchestrates the natural events of our lives for the good of those who love Him. Through the story of Ruth, a Moabite widow, and her mother-in-law Naomi, Pastor Karl illustrates how God's providence brings blessing to those who trust and obey Him, even in the face of hardship. The episode introduces Boaz, a wealthy and godly man who foreshadows Jesus as a kinsman-redeemer, and highlights Ruth's faith, humility, and diligence as she gleans in Boaz's fields. Pastor Karl unpacks the biblical principles of generosity, trust, and staying faithful to God's promises, showing how God's unseen hand works to redeem and restore broken lives. Join us as we see how Ruth's story of providence and redemption unfolds, offering timeless lessons for living with confidence and momentum in God's plan.Watch all our sermons on our YouTube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
The Wright Brothers accomplished something on December 17, 1903 that changed the course of history. And yet, no one believed them. Their hometown of Dayton didn't pull together a big parade to welcome the boys home from Kitty Hawk—no one was in a celebratory mood. In fact, one in every hundred Daytonians believed the brothers had actually accomplished what they said that they had accomplished. Moments like this are not uncommon in the landscape of the Christian experience. Often the very things we are laboring overtime to see accomplished in our life by the Holy Spirit are not understood, believed, or appreciated by those closest to us. What would the proper response to such strange indifference be?
The Christian life is all about faith. But, what many Christians don't realize is that it is not just the presence of faith that causes the Christian to triumph. It's the testing of that faith; the proving of that faith as genuine that showcases the power of heavenly triumph. December 17, 1903 was a day of triumph. It was the first day of human controlled flight. And that triumph only lasted twelve short seconds. But those twelve seconds were the first twelve seconds of the trillion seconds of triumphant flight to follow. Often the first breakthrough in the living out of the Christian life is only a twelve second flight. But, let's cherish our twelve seconds of impossible living and allow it to be the foundation of the eternity of triumph to follow.

When we think of the Wright Brothers, we think of two extraordinary men that pulled off an impossible feat all by their lonesome. And that is correct . . . sort of. There was actually a third person involved in this amazing accomplishment, but he is rarely ever discussed and, still to this day, is relatively unknown. His name was Charlie Taylor. It was Charlie that built the first plane engine. And without that miracle engine, human controlled flight simply would not have taken place. In the work of salvation, the Father and the Son get a good deal of our focus (as they deserve). But there is a Third Person involved in the saving of our souls that is mysteriously and purposely hidden in the process. And without this Third Person, we would all still be lost.
Vaiséṣika Dāsa emphasizes the significance of Earth as a special planet for spiritual practices, particularly the saṅkīrtana movement initiated by Lord Caitanya. He stresses the importance of faith in the process of chanting "Hare Kṛṣṇa" as a means to return to Godhead. Vaiséṣika Dāsa urges everyone, especially the youth, to spread this message and engage in the sādhana of Lord Caitanya. He highlights the critical state of the world and the incarnation of Kṛṣṇa in the form of "Hare Kṛṣṇa." The session concludes with a prayer for intelligence and faith in the holy name. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japawalk #morningwalk #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The Wright Brothers were not dashing, debonaire men. They were not highly educated nor were they confident with the lady folk. They were simple men. And the adjective used to describe them more than any other was “humility.” The other leading aeronautical geniuses at the time were highly financed, highly educated, and highly snooty. Samuel Langley, the director of the Smithsonian Institute had one goal: to beat the Wright Brothers. Langley had everything needed for success. He had loads of money, loads of intelligence, and loads of scientific helpers. But, the one thing he lacked was humility. And that cost him everything.------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/
All human behavior is manifested based on what is in our mind and heart. To be carnally-mined leads to desperation, disease, and death; to be spiritually-minded leads to love and living to the fullest. When a man's mind is distorted about the purpose of women, sex, and relationships, he will be prone to perversion and deviation. Lust will consume him, and loss will always follow. Listen and learn how to reject the "world's way" and embrace The Most High God's plan for righteous, long-lasting, and loving relationships. #spirituallessons #relationshipadvice #relationshipstruggles #lifelessons
The extraordinary work and discoveries of the Wright Brothers have changed the world over this past century. But one of their most understated achievements was the record they left behind them in both journal entries, drawings, and photography. Because of their record keeping, we are able to literally open a time capsule and smell the air they smelled and stick our toes in the sand that they traversed. Remembrance is a key function of the healthy Christian life. If we chronicled God's working in our lives the way the Wright Brothers chronicled their discoveries, we would be Christian's rich in faith.
The Church today is missing its cowboy bravado—it's willingness to hop on the back of a bucking bull and ride it. Instead there is a passivity, a reticence, and a self-preservation that is controlling the actions of a high percentage of believers today. Wilbur and Orville Wright had cowboy bravado, and, as a result, learned to ride the bucking Wind—something all the experts believed was an impossibility in their day. For the strength of heaven to return to the Church, the cowboy bravado must once again return, too.

Our ancient enemy, the devil, has been around for the past 6,000 years working over the people of this earth with his devious tactics, schemes, and assaults. But, though we can readily admit that he is really good at his evil craft, we must remember that Satan was not just defeated 2,000 years ago at the Cross, but his methods of malevolence have been completely exposed in and through the Word of God. The Apostle Paul says, “We are not ignorant of the enemy's devices.” In this study of the Wright Brothers, the devil's tactics are powerfully exposed along with an accompanying lesson of how we are beautifully built by the Spirit of God to overcome all the his nefarious scheming maneuvers.------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

The Apostle Paul submits a challenge to the psyche of every believer when he describes the idea of becoming a “fool for Christ's sake.” After all, the reason we as believers “believe” in Christ in the first place is because such an action is deemed the wisest and most reasonable conclusion to the dilemma of Sin and Death. So, to choose wisdom only to become a “fool” in the world's eyes poses a unique psychological hurdle to the young believer. But, the path of Christ's Fool is the path of power, it's the path of profound impact. Wilbur and Orville Wright chose the Fool's Path and changed the world because of it.------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/
As humans we have a proclivity towards the easiest route, the most comfortable way. We will purposely avoid difficulty, pain, and suffering and steer clear of inconvenience. And in so doing we are missing out on the best life has to offer us. For it is through these various trials that we exponentially grow and strengthen. These difficulties are our best friends and they work to build in us the necessary character, strength, and fortitude to change the world. Wilbur and Orville embraced this philosophy, packed up their belongings, and headed out to Kitty Hawk, NC. And there, amidst the immense wilderness difficulties, were fashioned into amazing men.------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

Too many of us live life from task to task, from paycheck to paycheck, and from duty to duty, instead of taking in the wonder, the beauty, and the awe of living? Wilbur and Orville Wright specialized in drinking in the beauty of God's creation about them—they were avid bird-watchers. And in learning to lift their heads out of their tasks, paychecks, and mundane duties—they saw things that no one else saw and had ideas that no one else had ever had.

In 1899 there were two diametrically-opposed approaches to solving the mystery of flight. The most common and popular view involved the absence of wind—it was believed that a total calm was necessary for flight. And the second involved embracing the wind—believing a gust of wind to be a benefit and not a hindrance to flight. Interestingly enough, these same two approaches exist today in Christianity. The most common and popular view today is that suffering, challenge, difficulty, and inconvenience must be avoided at all cost for an effective Christian life to be lived. And, course, there is the opposite view (which just happens to be the Biblical view) and that is that suffering, challenge, difficulty, and inconvenience—when embraced with joy—lead to the great triumph of Truth in this world. The Wright Brothers chose to bull ride the wind, and they changed history because of it.
God designed mighty oak trees to grow out of small acorns. The same is true in our lives. Our small decisions in life are the acorns that form the basis of our growth, our direction, and our trajectory. The Wright Brothers laid the foundation of their lives in humble, hidden, hard work in a bicycle shop in Dayton, Ohio. This “acorn” grew up to be a mighty oak tree of impact in the world. God's Kingdom pattern is just like this—take the little you have and invest it well—for if you are faithful with little, then God will entrust you with more.Sermon mentioned in this episode: https://ellerslie.com/defining-moments-of-obedience/------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/
It's an interesting question to ponder—would Wilbur Wright have been able to invent the airplane without the help of Orville? Of course, it can't be proved, but most would say, “No. Wilbur could have never pulled off the feat on his own!” For the mystery of controlled flight to be solved, Wilbur needed Orville and Orville needed Wilbur. The same is true in our spiritual lives. God designed us to do big things—impossible things. But to accomplish these big and impossible things, we need Orvilles in our life—people that challenge us, test us, and speak frankly into our souls. God can do amazing things when Wilbur's humble themselves and actually listen to their Orvilles.
In 1886 Orville Wright died . . . sort of. We don't want to give away any spoilers, but the simple fact that Orville invented (with his brother, Wilbur) the first operational airplane in 1903, it maybe goes without saying that his death in 1886 must have been short lived. But so are all the deaths that we have along the way in our Christian life. Like Orville's death in 1886, God will bring us to our end so that He can work a wonderful new beginning in us. This is what happened in Orville's life. And this is what will certainly happen in our lives, too, if we will start appreciating the key role that death plays in the cultivation of abundant Life. ------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/
At the conclusion of the 19th century it was determined by the intellectual elite that human controlled flight would NEVER happen. In fact, it was officially declared to be “impossible.” Such was the challenging soil in which the Wright Brother's miracle discovery of “human controlled flight” was fostered. Whereas, most human's dream, dream, and dream only to ultimately succumb, and forsake their dreams, due to the counsel of the wise teachers of their age that declare their dreams to be inconceivable—there are a few men and women in history that haven't stopped dreaming, even when the pressure to forsake their dream was laid on thick. The Wright Brothers are one of the rare ones in history that wouldn't succumb, and instead, stared down The Impossible.------------» Take these studies deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» For more information about Daily Thunder and the ministry of Ellerslie Mission Society, please visit: https://ellerslie.com/daily» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

Very few men in history have impacted the course of history as did Wilbur and Orville Wright from Dayton, Ohio. They were every day men—simple men—but men with a childlike confidence that they could pull off an impossible task. There is a spark in every child—a spark that shouts, “Do something amazing!” But in 99.9% of children, that spark is dowsed by the cynical adults surrounding them. This is a message that invites each and every one of us to return to the age of six and start dreaming big again.
Sometimes we meet people and we tell them something about Kṛṣṇa, give them a book, and it's not immediately evident, but later, we'll meet them. Or maybe we won't meet them, we'll meet somebody else who had an incidental contact with the devotee, and then they'll tell how everything started from that one statement. “I heard that thing. He said this, I read this one thing, and then it started.” And we're in a liminal state. Any minute we can cross back over into the spiritual environment by a little encouragement from the sound vibration, or by the same principle, we can always slip into nescience. But once the devotees have been awakened and have experienced the taste of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, even if they temporarily slip into darkness, it's not the same, Nārada Muni says, “as it is for somebody who's never experienced it, they always remember it.” Even though they become captured by Māyā, they still remember. As Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura said, they're haunted by the ghost of rasa. Rasāgraha, he said, “they're grabbed by it.” They keep thinking, “Oh, yeah, but I remember that time.” So it's very poignant, what you said about the power of the sound. And the saṅkīrtana movement is based on that; it's spreading that same sound vibration, Bhagavad-gītā, and the holy names to other living entities. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
This morning, I was listening to Prabhupada, and he was talking about how there are different kinds of liberated souls: "muktānām api siddhānāṁ nārāyaṇa-parāyaṇaḥ su-durlabhaḥ praśāntātmā koṭiṣv api mahā-mune (SB 6.14.5).' There are millions and millions of sages and different kinds of people who have achieved liberation through knowledge. They've seen the impersonal Brahman and Paramatma. But it's the most rare that someone can understand Bhagavan -Kṛṣṇa. And it's only by association with pure devotees, He said, that only by understanding Bhagavan is there Ananda. When you have that relationship, you know you have a relationship. And then Prabhupada named the different relationships you could have: as a parent, as a lover, as a friend, as a servitor. Then he started saying, you could be the water in Vrindavan. And he was talking about how, once you have that relationship, then that ānanda is unlimited. It's not like, he said, in the material world, we think ānanda comes from some temporary pleasure, but that, he said, only lasts for a few minutes. So intelligent people, 'ye hi saṁsparśajā bhogā' they don't appreciate it at all. The sages, he said: 'ramante yogino 'nante satyānande cid-ātmani iti rāma-padenāsau paraṁ brahmābhidhīyate (CC Madhya 9.29).' That those who understand that real pleasure comes from Rama, association with Kṛṣṇa, that's the real happiness, and they don't need anything else. Once they taste that ānanda of Kṛṣṇa, then every other kind of pleasure is insignificant for them. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

'Bhejire munayo 'thāgre bhagavantam adhokṣajam sattvaṁ viśuddhaṁ kṣemāya kalpante ye 'nu tān iha.' Suta Goswami says in the Srimad Bhagavatam, First Canto, Second Chapter, that previously - agre, all the great sages worshiped Lord Narayan because He's beyond the modes of material nature. Therefore, they attained the highest benefit. Anyone who follows in their footsteps, even if they're not great sages, is eligible for the same result. So, this point that Ranchor Prabhu is making is very important: if we follow the pathway of the great acharyas—mahājano yena gataḥ sa panthāḥ—however insignificant we may be, we'll attain the same result because of following in their footsteps. And Krishna gives us this encouragement, as He spoke to Uddhava in the Bhagavatam, 11th Canto (11.21.2): 'sve sve 'dhikāre yā niṣṭhā sa guṇaḥ parikīrtitaḥ,' that if you follow according to your capacity, that's a good quality. 'Viparyayas tu doṣaḥ syād'—it's the opposite if you try to do more than you're qualified for. Then, He said, it's a fault. Stay within your limit and do the best you can with what you have right now, and you'll be able to attain everything by the mercy of the process, which is also mentioned: 'tvat-pada-potena mahat-kṛtena, kurvanti, govatsa-padam bhavābdhim.' This means it's a process left behind by the great acharyas. And if we embrace the process that has been given to us by the great acharyas, 'tvat-pada-potena mahat-kṛtena,' then the material world, which is like a dangerous ocean, shrinks to the size of the water contained within the hoof print of a calf, and then one can easily step over by the mercy of the acharyas' process that they have left for us. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

I saw this sign when we were coming down here. This restaurant is called 'A Land Remembered'. And it just sounded poetical to me - A Land Remembered ! And I was thinking, "Land means somewhere you can land." We can't land anywhere in the material world. There's no place that will accommodate us for very long. We just have to get pushed along. In the final sermon in our Faith & Film series, Rev. Dr. Daniel Kanter explores what it means to live courageously in a world that often demands our silence and compliance. Drawing inspiration from the film The Way Way Back, the abolitionist legacy of Thaddeus Stevens, and the struggles we face in today's political and personal climate, this message calls us to resist fear, reject prescribed paths, and claim the freedom to live as our truest selves. If you're facing hard truths, longing for justice, or searching for the courage to be fully yourself, this message offers space and strength for the journey.
In this sermon, Rev. Beth Dana opens our Faith and Film Series with a deep look at Disney's Moana 2 through the lens of Unitarian Universalist faith, Pacific Island history, and womanist theology. Moana's journey to reconnect her people becomes a powerful metaphor for how we find our way in hard times - when the path isn't clear, when we feel lost, or when we're trying to heal what's been broken. Rev. Dana weaves in the true story of Queen Liliʻuokalani, Hawaii's last monarch, and reflects on the spiritual power of aloha, the wisdom of our ancestors, and how we move forward with love and justice. Whether you're a fan of Moana, exploring spirituality, or seeking hope in uncertain times, this sermon offers guidance, courage, and connection.

So, this is one of the very important lessons that Prahlād Mahārāj teaches us, is to become trained in the spiritual science. Don't neglect the Bhagavad-gītā. Or should I say it in the positive? It's better, isn't it, because that might go and you may think, 'Neglect the Bhagavad-gītā.' No. Read Bhagavad-gītā every day. How's that for a challenge? If one reads Bhagavad-gītā every day, then you won't have to make excuses for why you make mistakes, or why you made mistakes, or why you feel morose, or why you feel confused, and so forth, because those who read the Bhagavad-gītā every day don't get confused. They see things as they are, and they see the difference between matter and spirit. And that's fairly simple. Let me just check, do we have any Bhagavad-gītās? Just checking to see if we have them on site. Do we have any here? I heard that we've distributed over approximately 500 million books since Prabhupāda started book distribution, and we have a few of them here. Bhagavad-gītā is available. Do any of you have it at home? Just checking. It sounds simplistic, but sometimes the simple things are the true answer. It's called Occam's razor. So if you take this challenge that Prahlād Mahārāj is putting out—educate yourself the way a geologist becomes educated to see the way the world's actually working and to find out where the gold is—then you'll never be bewildered. So if you read at least a chapter of Bhagavad-gītā every day, hear the verses, and go deeply within the purports as much as possible, then you'll see the world and find the great treasures in life and avoid the difficulties. Now, speaking of difficulties, Prahlād Mahārāj also talks about that. He says.. Unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles will be towed away at the owner's expense." It's not easy, and so don't park your mind in an improper place and just leave it there, because it will get towed so far away, you may not be able to find it again. In this honest and deeply thoughtful conversation, Susie Lipps and John Ortberg sit down to explore the real weight and meaning of Good Friday. They unpack the political pressure, religious tension, and personal cost surrounding Jesus' final hours — not just as a historical moment, but as a mirror to our own lives. With compassion and clarity, they challenge us to sit in the discomfort of the cross, to wrestle with why Jesus was really killed, and to see how this ancient story still confronts power, pride, and injustice today. If you've ever wondered what makes Good Friday truly “good,” this is a conversation you don't want to miss.Join the conversation in our FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CnqywVp9s/Become New is here to help you grow spiritually one day at a time.John's new book STEPS is out!
