In 1993, Jelaila Starr began communicating with a humanoid Lion-being called Devon who belongs to a Feline race that first established a presence in the Lyra constellation. She was told that the Felines were responsible for seeding the first humans in the Lyra and Vega systems, and later established a presence in the Syrian star system after a catastrophic war. The Felines have ever since acted as guides and mentors for human civilizations as they have colonized the Milky War galaxy with both great success and failures due to ongoing conflicts with Reptilian races who were also seeded in our galaxy. According to Starr, the Reptilians were seeded by a bird-like race of beings called the Carians. She asserts that the Reptilians are important mirrors for Earth humanity as we are collectively involved in historical conflicts that stretch back millennia. Both the Felines and Carians are members of a Nibiruan Council that acts as proxies for a mysterious group of Ancient Elders. In her first Exopolitics Today interview, Starr describes the extraordinary circumstances that led to her first communications with Devon in 1993 and the discovery that she was a Walk-In. She also discusses important elements from the work of Zecharia Sitchin regarding the Anunnaki and Nibiru. As a teenager in the 1990s, Katie Brown was one of climbing's first "comp kids"--a young natural who, along with her peers, redefined the image of a strong and successful climber. After climbing for less than two years, Brown won her first junior national title. The next year she became the Junior World Champion at age 14 in Laval, France. In 1996 she won both the Rock Master--a prestigious international contest in Arco, Italy--and the esteemed X-Games. From 1996 on, Brown won every US Adult National that she entered, as well as a World Cup Title in France in 1999.Yet even as she reigned on the podium, Brown felt her life begin to unravel. A quiet child, she struggled with a home life that was very different behind closed doors than it seemed on television. A fundamentalist version of Christianity was at the center of the household, and Brown fought to live according to rules that were strict, ever-changing, and irrational. Isolated and feeling hopeless, Brown latched onto food as something she could control. She quit competitive climbing and bounced in and out of the industry, eventually disappearing in her late twenties. Now, more than two decades later, Brown is ready to share her story. Unraveled answers the question thousands of fans worldwide have wondered: "What ever happened to Katie Brown?"Join Travis and Katie for a very personal conversation recorded in Salida, Colorado, where they both live, coach, and raise their children. Topics include: climbing (sport, traditional, competition), #vanlife, running, parenting, dogs, eating disorders, mental health, Lynn Hill, Tommy Caldwell, Beth Rodden, Chris Sharma, small-town living, and more.In This Episode:Katie Brown InstagramDr. Gaudiani's NPR interview Dr. Guadiani's website National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (24/7): 1-800-273-8255National Eating Disorders Association: 1-800-931-2237Boulder Campervans OFFER: 20% OFF the entire InsideTracker storeDISCOUNT CODE: TRAVISMACYTravis Macy Instagram | WebsiteInjinji Discount SiteThe Feed Instagram | Website- - - - - - - - - - -If you like this podcast, please consider our book, A Mile at A Time: A Father and Son's Inspiring Alzheimer's Journey of Love, Adventure, and Hope*30% off with discount code MACESubscribe: Apple Podcast | SpotifyCheck us out: Instagram | Twitter | Website | YouTubewww.AMileAtATimeBook.com
Today we continue our series all about the Bible covering things like what it is, who wrote it, and ultimately its relevance to us and our time. Some believe that the Bible was written and compiled over a very long period of time and was sometimes shared orally, but this would mean that the likelihood of mistakes and inconsistencies could be greater. Exodus 34:27 says, “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Write down these words for in accordance with these words, I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.'” Now, it's not unreasonable to believe that the Bible was written at or near the time the events recorded actually happened. This would mean that the patriarchs who were the heads of the families mentioned early in the Bible, wrote down their own histories. Moses, living not long after the patriarchs, compiled all these histories into one long account of early earth history. From there, the prophets largely wrote down what God wanted to communicate to the people, and this took place from the time of Moses until the time of Jesus who scholars believe was born in 4 BC. That would mean that the bulk of the Old Testament was formally written over a period of maybe 1500 years from Egypt to Judea, which is modern Israel. By the time the last letters and histories were written down in the New Testament times, the Jewish writers of the Bible were still under the control of the Roman Empire, which was at its height. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, the language of the Jewish people. The New Testament was written in Greek, one of the major powers in the times of Jesus. The first council of the church was held in 325 AD at Nicea, which is in modern Turkey. It was there that church leaders put into a final form the Bible that we have today. In this way, we have the same books that were available to Christians who actually knew Jesus. There are tens of thousands of manuscripts from the earliest church that match the Bibles we can buy in stores or get online today. Let's pray. Father God, you are not a God of confusion. You've made our past, present, and future knowable. Thank you for making sure that history is accurate, including the future, when you will reign over your kingdom in glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Taking a step behind the curtain of classic movie magic, today Alex and Jonathan discuss the techniques and creatures brought to the screen by VFX pioneer Ray Harryhausen in Mighty Joe Young (1949), The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), Jason and the Argonauts (1963), and Clash of the Titans (1981). We discuss the evolution of the Dynamation and Dynarama processes, the ways that his techniques influenced the effects that ended up surpassing his own, and where Dynamation might still fit in the modern cinema landscape. He’s talking about the guys he roomed with, traveled with, skated with, and scored against on the ice, including Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, and Gerry Cheevers. He’s got tales from his time with the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers, and remembers a 17-year old Wayne Gretzky who flew to Winnipeg to play in a charity game before he was even in the NHL. 10 years, 700 games, and a really good reason why Teddy will never, ever touch the Stanley Cup himself.
