It was an incredible run, but it had to come to an end at some point. Kansas was officially eliminated from Big 12 title contention after losing to Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The same, familiar problems reared their heads in another blowout loss on the road. What would you do to fix the Jayhawks? They still haven't lost a neutral site or home game yet, but how much can we depend on that heading into March? We talk all about this game, and whether or not it was a "throwaway" contest where everything went wrong. The Big 12 remains bananas, and the Ask RCB questions just keep coming. Senior Day against Baylor remains, and the Jayhawks will take the court without a single senior to celebrate after it was announced that Lagerald Vick will still not return for the contest. Kansas has the opportunity to end the season on a high note. Will they do it?

For the first time in four years, Kansas State beat Kansas in a basketball game, and there are tons of takeaways we're ready to discuss. The rivalry. The dunk. The turnovers. The lack of offense. We take the optimistic approach and claim that we both think the Jayhawks will wind up winning the Big 12 and be a force in March, but the questions are rightfully there. KU next returns home to take on Oklahoma State, a team that beat the Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse last year. Both teams are short-handed, but we all believe that Kansas will win comfortably. We break down why and discuss keys to getting back on track, as well as why this upcoming week is among the most pivatol stretches for the Jayhawks in the rest of the year NOTE: this podcast was recorded prior to the news that Lagerald Vick has taken a leave from Kansas for personal reasons.
On Episode 230 of Sean's Sports Stop, Sean reports the biggest news in sports and gives his unique opinion on all the stories, which include: Kevin Durant telling the media "I don't trust y'all" (4:12), the Houston Rockets trading James Ennis to the Philadelphia 76ers for a 2021 2nd round pick (7:25), LeBron James saying that he has nothing left to chase in the NBA (9:20), LaVar Ball saying that Lonzo Ball is better than LeBron James and that if the Lakers trade Lonzo, LeBron will NEVER win a championship in LA (13:07), the Los Angeles Clippers trading Avery Bradley to the Memphis Grizzlies (15:33), the Toronto Raptors trading Jonas Valanciunias Delon Wright CJ Miles and a 2024 2nd round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for Marc Gasol (16:37), the Philadelphia 76ers trading Markelle Fultz to the Orlando Magic for Jonathan Simmons and draft picks (22:40), the Miami Marlins trading JT Realmuto to the Philadelphia Phillies (18:45), Frank Robinson sadly passing away at the age of 83 (20:10), the Los Angeles Lakers considering to sign Carmelo Anthony (26:50), the New York Knicks releasing Enes Kanter (28:53), LeBron and Giannis picking their teams for the 2019 NBA All Star Game (31:20), Lagerald Vick taking a leave of absence from Kansas University Basketball (34:13), Anthony Davis getting ready to play "real minutes" for the New Orleans Pelicans for the rest of this season (35:45), Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka saying that NBA teams should fear the Lakers in a 7 game playoff series (37:42), I cover all the NBA trades that happened all the way up to the deadline and give my opinion on all of them as well as give each team involved in every trade a letter grade (38:22). Iowa State picked up a nice Big 12 road win along their journey to claim the Big 12 regular season title, so we talked a little about the game, as well as what Lagerald Vick’s departure from the Kansas basketball team means for the outlook on the rest of the season. This week, Matt Campbell signed Isheem Young, a former four-star safety with an impressive offer list that includes names like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State, but also a checkered past that includes an armed robbery charge. Levi, Cole, and Marchie give their thoughts on the newest Cyclone, and what the mindset is behind offering a scholarship to a kid with such a checkered past. Is giving him a second chance the right move?Next, we took a look at what the national perception of offense looks like in college basketball and college football, and why they seem to differ so much. Why is an offense like Oklahoma’s belittled with the (easily debunked) “Big 12 doesn’t play defense narrative,” while high-powered college basketball offenses are simply regarded as being extremely talented or having a great scheme? Levi has a theory about where the difference might be coming from.Steph Curry basically changed the modern game of basketball by himself, with his emergence as the league’s greatest-ever shooter coinciding with the advent of advanced analytics, and teams now looking for and taking more threes than ever. Has the NFL ever seen an individual player completely change the game and how it approaches game-planning like Michael Jordan or Steph did? Could it ever?To wrap up the conversation, Marchie gave his thoughts on his Dallas Mavericks and all of their trade deadline moves, one of which included shipping Ames-native Harrison Barnes off to the Kings.

It was an impressive showing from the Jayhawks, who dominated the Bears until losing focus in the final seconds, making the score look closer than the game actually was. The result was a 10th victory in 11 tries against Baylor, as Bill Self continued his dominance over Scott Drew, and the Jayhawks kept pace with Texas Tech towards the top of the Big 12 standings. Led by Lagerald Vick, the team finally shot a decent percentage as a squad on three-point shots. How much dangerous is this team when they're hitting threes? Does Ochai Agbaji deserve to be considered for a starting spot? How much NBA hype does Quentim Grimes garner? Up next for Kansas: a home matchup with the Texas Longhorns on Big Monday. We break down and pick the game, as well as the other enticing matchups around college basketball.

In a game you had to see to believe, the Jayhawks escaped as a 20-point favorite by beating Stanford in overtime this weekend. Lagerald Vick was amazing, scoring 25 points in the second half and overtime, including the game-tying three with less than 10 seconds left. We talk about the win and a slumping Big 12 overall, as just two undefeated teams from the conference remain. Kansas, at 6-0, has a soft December schedule ahead, but can anything get this team to win a game with ease? Wofford is up next, and we all think that might be the matchup that gets them going.
We discuss everything NCAA. We take a look at some Power 5 schools including Oregon, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, and surprisingly Fisk. There were no major upsets this weekend. But a handful of good teams -- No. 1 Gonzaga, No. 2 Kansas, No. 20 Texas Tech, etc., -- were pushed by unranked opponents. The pod opens on that, then gets to Lagerald Vick and Kansas (3:09) and Nevada's 8-0 start (12:43). On Sunday, Arizona got to 6-2 (20:17). Is Sean Miller going to get the Wildcats back to the NCAA Tournament even though most predicted he wouldn't? As for UConn (24:45), Akok Akok committed, which is big. Then the fun begins. Norlander has Parrish play "Guess the Celebrity" (28:31) and the guys wrap with a wide-ranging conversation on the College Football Playoff and how it compares to the NCAA Tournament process (37:10).
