The Lakers kick off a six game road trip tonight in Milwaukee. Normally this sort of thing would be looked on with some bit of dread, especially given that the Lakers have been a horrible road team all season. And certainly Monday's game against the Bucks will be a major challenge, especially in light of LeBron James being downgraded to doubtful ahead of the contest thanks to the same ankle that's kept him on the injury report all year. Hopefully he/the Lakers are just picking one day for LBJ to rest in the space of a back to back... but there's really know way to know until Wednesday when the Lakers arrive in Memphis. But as for this one, yes, the Lakers beat the Bucks recently, but Milwaukee has played better of late, and is unquestionably a contender in the East. This would be a losable game with or without James. But hey, maybe the Lakers surprise shorthanded. Wouldn't be the first time, this season. And moreover, once THIS game is done, the Lakers get some real opportunities. Wednesday vs. a terrible Memphis squad. Then an Indiana team they just beat, and the Nets, Raptors and Wizards. 4-2 is the bare minimum that is acceptable for a trip like this one. And it's important, because the Phoenix Suns have a very difficult path ahead of them (made even more difficult when they lost to the freakin' Spurs on Monday, after this show was recorded). A solid late run to end the year from LA (think 9-2, 8-3) could be enough to move them to the 7 spot, because Phoenix plays 10 straight games against Western Conference playoff teams. But the Lakers have to do their part, and even then it still won't be easy. Plus... more on Spencer Dinwiddie, and how his recent surge could impact the team going forward, including different lineup combinations. Why has Cam Reddish been finishing games over Rui Hachimura? And what, exactly, did scurvy do to the human body? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers will face Milwaukee (almost surely) without LeBron. SEGMENT 2: Things are tightening a little around the Suns. Plus, a small defensive bright spot?SEGMENT 3: Cam over Rui, more Reddish, more schedule. The Lakers still have designs on moving up in the Western Conference, and the narrowest of windows in which to get it done. There are opportunities. The Suns, for example, have an insanely brutal schedule over their last 10 games, and the Lakers do own the tiebreaker against Phoenix. Sacramento is still in reach, and has a harder schedule than LA. But if the Lakers want to make any of this happen - and want to avoid the possibility of dropping to 10th, or even worse, open the door for a red hot Houston Rockets team, tonight's game at home against a moribund Philadelphia 76ers is simply one they should win, and must win. Must, must, must. Must. And it's those "should win" games where the Lakers have tended to struggle, playing down to the level of competition. Can't happen tonight. Meanwhile, the Lakers announced that Jalen Hood-Schifino will undergo a procedure to repair a disc issue in his back, and while no timetable was announced, it would certainly figure that he'll miss a good chunk of time, possibly the rest of the year. No impact on the big club... which really is the jumping off point for the conversation. That losing Hood-Schifino makes no difference for their fortunes shines a light on the decision to draft him in the first place over players more capable of playing an NBA role as rookies. But that question - did they draft the right guy for THIS year, is a different one than whether Hood-Schifino is a bust. It's waaaaay too early for that. And meanwhile, his stats with South Bay are actually quite good. It's just a shame his season has been so short, both because he's been injured a lot and because the Lakers couldn't send him to the G-League nearly as much as they wanted because of the injury to Gabe Vincent. Finally, a great question from a viewer on the YT page: With Cam Reddish back, would it make sense to put him in the starting lineup in order to boost the defense, and bring some scoring to the second unit? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers must win on Friday. There's just no way around it. SEGMENT 2: Hood-Schifino needs back surgery, which opens up the debate about drafting him in the first place. SEGMENT 3: Would a change in the lineup make sense? It's a day of problems, here at Locked On Lakers. On Wednesday's show, the the long run of injuries was a major focus, with a lot of attention paid to sorting out who might be coming back from injury and when, and what that means for the Lakers as they try to win games. For today, there is some injury-related news—Cam Reddish practiced Wednesday and is expected to be back for Friday's game against Philadelphia, giving the Lakers some badly needed defensive presence and size on the wing—but the conversation turned towards the guys who take care of the players. This year has been very problematic for the team, outside of the two guys (LeBron James, Anthony Davis) who everyone expected would miss a ton of games. Of course, those guys have their own dudes responsible for their health... which could point more towards the training staff, because seemingly everyone else on the roster has been busted and broken throughout the year. On the other, James and Davis have long had their own guys, and have struggled mightily to stay on the floor in the seasons prior to this one. So many guys seem to have come back from injuries, only to have to sit down again. Or start off with something that is might seem relatively minor or short term, and three weeks later that same player is going under the knife. Is that a misdiagnosis? Or just the right-minded effort to try and make the player better without surgical intervention? It can feel like the Lakers don't have the best of the best, even if it's hard to pinpoint exactly what the shortcomings are. Certainly by reputation the Lakers aren't known for spending big in support areas. Meanwhile, Spencer Dinwiddie says he's being graded on a Dinwiddie-sized set of expectations, but is playing a Reggie Bullock type role. Is he right? HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Do the Lakers have a problem with their training staff? SEGMENT 2: How do you know if a training staff is good? SEGMENT 3: The Lakers seem like they have a Dinwiddie problem. Is it the player or what the player is being asked to do? The Lakers lost their 8th consecutive game to the Nuggets over the weekend, and did so in a familiar fashion with Denver's execution and shot making seizing the game down the stretch. Pete, Mike, and Darius discuss the game, the challenges of defending the Nuggets, the decision to play Cam Reddish over D'Angelo Russell down the stretch, and much more. And then later, the guys preview Monday's matchup with the Thunder and dive into the Anthony Davis vs. Chet Holmgren matchup and brainstorm ideas for defending Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Well, that was amazing. The Lakers were thoroughly outclassed for three-quarters of Wednesday's "road" game against the Clippers at the Crypt. After Mason Plumlee scored the opening points of the fourth, the Lakers were down 21 points, and seemingly out of it. Nobody told LeBron James, however. He went absolutely bonkers from there, finishing with 19 points and five three's in the final quarter to eat up the deficit and more. Overall, the Lakers outscored the Clippers 39-16. It started with sustained defensive effort and then resulted in shot after shot after shot, mostly from James but also D'Angelo Russell, Anthony Davis and even Cam Reddish, who had an important triple as well. It was a game that may have rescued the team's chances to move up in the Western Conference before the end of the season. Like the Boston game, which kicked off the team's most recent stretch of high end play, this one has a chance to be a pivot point should things turn out the way Lakers fans hope when it's all said and done. This was certainly one of those moments where the greatness of a LeBron performance is made even greater by the context. Remember, we're talking about a 39-year old star. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: What did we just witness? SEGMENT 2: Appreciating the moment. SEGMENT 3: The Lakers recognize the need to win on tonight vs. Washington. The Lakers stunned the Clippers with a huge 4th quarter comeback fueled by the brilliance of LeBron James and catalyzed by energetic defense to get a great win Wednesday night. Pete, Darius, and Mike discuss how it all transpired and highlight how the game turned around, why LeBron's defense was nearly as important as his shot making, the key part Cam Reddish and Jaxson Hayes played in the comeback, D'Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura's shooting and confidence, and much more. The Lakers face a critical game tonight against the Clippers, and it comes at a time when the vibes again have turned ominous and the team needs to change the conversation almost as much as it needs wins for practical reasons. The schedule over the next few weeks (and through the end of the year, really) is brutal. Teams are starting to elevate their play, and based on what we've seen so far since the ASB, the Lakers aren't prepared to keep up. But as we've learned throughout the year, sometimes a team is just 48 minutes away from changing the mood considerably. The Lakers will get a crack at a Clippers team playing without Paul George, and that quietly is suffering through a down patch of their own. The Lakers should have Anthony Davis (though he skipped practice Tuesday with an upper respiratory issue, he's probable for tonight) and Cam Reddish, who adds size to the wing against a team where that sort of thing is very, very useful. Can Davis avoid the early foul trouble that's plagued him of late? Can the Lakers keep Ivica Zubac off the glass? These are key questions. As is the one about the lack of production of late from the supporting cast. The Lakers need more. Much more, from some (think Spencer Dinwiddie). Overall, a disappointing group needs to find its stride quickly. This, likely is the team the Lakers will have going forward, aside from the hopeful return of Christian Wood over the next week or two. Finally, Bronny James was dropped from ESPN's Mock Draft for this summer. No surprise, given the context, but still noteworthy and something that prompted a response from his pop. What to make of it? And what does any of this have to do with LeBron's future in LA, which according to reports James might want to extend longer than folks expected? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers have a huge game against the Clippers. SEGMENT 2: Can the supporting cast step up? Can the Lakers clean up the glass? SEGMENT 3: Bronny and Bron, and Bron's future in LA. After a few days off, the Lakers head into tonight's matchup with the Clippers with the possibility of Cam Reddish returning to the lineup and beginning a stretch of the schedule that is very home friendly. Pete, Mike, and Darius discuss how Cam's pending return could impact the rotation and how the choices the coaches make could play into the traps of earlier season challenges on the backboards. And then later, the guys discuss the matchup with the Clippers more generally. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The Lakers get a boost tonight with the return of Cam Reddish, how might he change LA's rotation? For a Lakers team that needs defense, how big of a role will he see tonight against the Clippers? With no LeBron James, the Lakers were already set to paddle upstream against a resurgent Golden State Warriors that's looking to pass them in the standings. Combine that with an absolutely unconscious Steph Curry to open the game, early foul trouble for Anthony Davis, and a collectively cold shooting night from the supporting cast, and paddling upstream became the equivalent of trying to paddle across the entire Pacific Ocean using a golf club. A strong opening quarter and change from the Lakers was no match for the Warriors' ball movement, body movement, and strong work on the offensive glass. AD still managed to string together a strong night of 27 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, but received way too little help on either side of the ball and Darvin Ham waved the white flag with about five minutes left in the game. Why the early folding of the tents? Because the Lakers have a game tonight at home vs. the Spurs that's now of exceptional importance. Hopefully, LeBron James will be in uniform (and if the Lakers are really lucky, Cam Reddish as well), but assuming everyone who played on Thursday suits up for this back-to-back, sending Victor Wembenyama and the gang home with a loss is a must. The Western Conference hasn't been cooperating with the Lakers all season, and Thursday was no exception. The Lakers aren't catching any breaks, which means they can't afford to mess up opportunities. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Despite a big night from Anthony Davis, the Lakers couldn't contain Steph and the Warriors. SEGMENT 2: The Lakers really need to win this game against the Spurs. SEGMENT 3: No. Seriously. They need to win. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Lakers managed to turn some bad mojo into good vibes heading into the break, and not surprisingly it was built at least in part around not just consistency in the rotation, but a type of consistency that played towards the preferences of the players on the roster.Of course, all (or at least much) of this happened with certain guys, namely Max Christie and Cam Reddish (let alone Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent) unavailable. That simplifies things for Darvin Ham. But they won't stay simple forever. Reddish and Christie are both expected to be back if not on Thursday when the Lakers kick off the "second half," soon after. They've both played real roles in the rotation to this point in the season. What does Darvin do when they're available again? What should it look like? Which players ought to play? How does Spencer Dinwiddie's presence impact all of this?Meanwhile, the Lakers don't have the flexibility going forward to screw up any of their remaining games against the league's lesser teams. That might be Friday against San Antonio, or two games against the Wizards, or Toronto or anyone else. Because when it's not those guys, it's nothing but high end playoff teams. In one upcoming stretch, the Lakers play seven straight against teams currently qualifying for some type of postseason play, and 10 of 12.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: The Lakers have shifted the vibes heading into the second half.SEGMENT 2: What does Darvin Ham do with the rotation going forward?SEGMENT 3: We'll find out quickly how much the Lakers have improved.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!GrammarlyWhen it comes to writing, Grammarly is there to support you from start to finish. It's a very, very busy week in the NBA with the trade deadline coming up on the 8th. And, of course, that means the Lakers tied to any available player on the market, because that's how this works. But while before the chatter was built mostly around Atlanta guard Dejounte Murray, the Lakers now have to fill a massive hole left by the injury to Jarred Vanderbilt. The Lakers now have a gaping hole to fill, in addition to any improvements they want to make in the backcourt, or anywhere else. And the stuff they have available doesn't change. It's one pick, it's D'Angelo Russell, it's (maybe) Rui Hachimura and an injured Gabe Vincent, plus whatever appeal guys like Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino might have. So which holes do they try to fill? Do they keep more assets for this summer, roll the dice on this year and hope for the best? It's not an easy time to be Rob Pelinka. Meanwhile, one of the guys on the list of potential trade assets—Christie—was also one of their most impactful players in Saturday's win over the Knicks. Will Darvin Ham continue leaning heavily into the youngster for his defensive versatility (as well as some outside shooting) with Vanderbilt and Cam Reddish unavailable? Does the (new again) starting lineup mean that Rui Hachimura finally gets the PT Lakers fans have been clamoring for? Saturday it made sense to play Taurean Prince... but that's not going to be the case every game. Finally, what exactly was LeBron talking about with the hourglass emoji last week? And has he made any decisions around his player option for next year? The answer to the latter is no, and the former is "I'm not telling." Or so it was ahead of the game Saturday night. So anything to read into either? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers have a major hole to fill with Jarred Vanderbilt on the shelf. SEGMENT 2: How should the Lakers try to address their shortcomings at the deadline. How do they prioritize? SEGMENT 3: LeBron says a lot by saying very little. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! On Thursday, the Lakers went into Boston without the services of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, and managed to come out with a fairly shocking win. Part of the underdog story, though, was the absence in the second half of forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who left the game late in the second quarter with an injury to his right foot.News on the injury following the game was light. Negative x-rays (which frankly doesn't mean much, except nothing was broken), but not much else.Friday, the news came, and it's not good. Vanderbilt will miss at several weeks at least, and possibly more as the team explores the full nature of the injury. It's a massive blow to a Lakers squad that has struggled all season to find defensive combinations that work, and particularly to replicate the skill set Vanderbilt brings. And he had just started to play his best basketball over the last couple of weeks. Now, the Lakers have to figure out what to do going forward, especially with Cam Reddish, who played a modified Vanderbilt role earlier in the year when Vando was hurt, also on the shelf. How could this impact the rotation? LA's decision making process at the trade deadline? There is much to discuss, and not much of it is happy.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!LinkedInLinkedIn Jobs helps you find the qualified candidates you want to talk to, faster. Friday's embarrassing loss at home to Brooklyn doesn't disappear from the record, but the Lakers were in many ways granted a do-over Sunday, facing a really bad Portland team, once again at the Crypt. This time, they did it right, taking control early and (in a nice twist) not letting the Blazers back in. And certainly not collapsing in the third quarter. As a result, they started the week with a 134-110 win, and got to keep the minutes for LeBron James (31) and Anthony Davis (26:22) delightfully low.Had they just done this on Friday, too, everyone would be feeling good about a Lakers team sitting two games over .500 with a chance to add a few more wins over the next 10 days. Instead, they're back to .500. It beats the alternative, but speaks to the different ways the Lakers have shot themselves in the foot over the course of this season.Sunday, the Lakers got a huge performance from D'Angelo Russell (34 points, eight assists, two blocks, zero turnovers), plus a typically solid LeBron (28/5/5) and Davis (14 points, 14 rebounds. Austin Reaves had 15 points, Cam Reddish returned to the lineup with 10 points. It was a good palate cleanser, one in which the team's defensive pressure put a bad Portland team in really uncomfortable positions and the offense had a pretty easy go. So now it's on to a tough game against the Clippers Tuesday, then back a slate of very winnable games (Chicago, Golden State, Houston, Atlanta), now on the road instead of home.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: The Lakers thump Portland behind 34 from Russell.SEGMENT 2: D'Lo seems intent on making the choice to trade him harder.SEGMENT 3: More lineup shuffling on Sunday.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!GrammarlyWhen it comes to writing, Grammarly is there to support you from start to finish. One reason the Lakers have managed to play more competitively over the last few games, including wins in four of six, is the improved play of D'Angelo Russell, who looks a lot more like the guy who was the Lakers best player not named Anthony or LeBron for the first month of the season. Russell's 29 points against Dallas on Wednesday was a reminder that whether you see him as the team's third best player, fourth best, or maybe even something after that, he's got certain skills that aren't easily replicated around the roster. He's the most likely player outside the stars to pop off for 30 points, for example. He's also the best non-LeBron organizer and facilitator on the squad. His point guard skills aren't replicated by Austin Reaves, for examples. So when he plays well, the Lakers look like a different team. When he plays well AND LeBron and AD are on? The Lakers can appear genuinely dangerous. He is, and this is just the reality of it, the most likely player on the roster to be used as trade bait. But it means the Lakers really need to consider carefully what they're getting back should they decide to make a move.Meanwhile, Darvin Ham seems to have settled on the nine guys he wants to give playing time to in a coherent rotation, with Cam Reddish and Gabe Vincent out, and Jaxson Hayes (rightly) deemed unplayable. But what will that look like when Reddish is available to play? And how does this relative health impact the guy many Lakers fans love to hate, Taurean Prince? Finally, starting tonight against Brooklyn, the Lakers have a run of winnable games between now and the February 8th trade deadline. Of the 10 between now and then, only three come against high end teams (the Clippers, Boston and New York). Having not capitalized on the bulk of their run of home games, the Lakers really, really need to make hay now, both to make up ground in the Western Conference and to settle questions ahead of the deadline.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: D'Angelo Russell, X-factor.SEGMENT 2: The rotation is set now, right?SEGMENT 3: Gotta make some waves in a good stretch of schedule.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Jase MedicalEmpower yourself when you purchase a Jase Case, providing you with a personal supply of 5 antibiotics that treat 50+ infections. The Lakers badly needed a win after absorbing a few tough losses, and Monday night played one of their better games of the season, beating Oklahoma City 112-105.Anthony Davis (27/15/5) and LeBron James (25/6/5) led a balanced and efficient Lakers attack (six players in double figures, 44-84 from the floor). But what got people's attention first and foremost? Another new lineup for the Lakers. Darvin Ham, seeking to put as much playmaking around James and Davis, went with D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves in the starting lineup with Taurean Prince. The returns were solid, for sure, and for one night at least this group offered the high level of offense Ham wanted without compromising (or being compromised) defensively. They held Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to a very manageable 9-19 from the floor, and ROY candidate Chet Holmgren was in foul trouble all night, notching only nine points.Ham said this would be the lineup for a while going forward, indicating a pivot for the team (and an acknowledgement that Cam Reddish could be out a while). The Lakers, for a team that has struggled a lot, has also now notched a pretty good assortment of wins over good teams. They don't have enough of them, but there's enough proof in the game calendar that the Lakers can beat anyone in the league. Often enough? In four of seven games?A lot is left to be seen, but for one night at least, the Lakers got a little mojo back.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: The Lakers get a huge win over Oklahoma City.SEGMENT 2: Another new starting lineup for the Lakers? The Lakers, once again, came into Saturday's game in Utah (the hottest team in the NBA) with disruption to the lineup. LeBron James sat with the ankle problem that's been bothering him all year. Rui Hachimura was back... but on a minutes restriction. Once the game started, Cam Reddish once again had to leave early, playing only 11 minutes.Continuity, she has been incredibly hard to find. And it's possible more changes are coming, because D'Angelo Russell's 39 points, on top of solid play over his last few games, might be enough to push him back into the starting lineup. And if Reddish has to miss time, maybe Jared Vanderbilt ends up back with the starters, too?Or maybe Max Christie gets promoted? The point being, the Lakers are 40 games in, two games under .500, off the playoff ladder ... and no real identity around how they're going to win games. As Russell said after, when the defense is good the offense is bad. When the offense is good, the defense is bad. They can't seem to align good stuff at the same time.Or haven't for a while.Saturday, even the triple double of Anthony Davis didn't quite align with what the Lakers needed. Yes, he had 14 rebounds, 11 assists and four blocks, but he also missed 16 of 21 shots, which was more than the Lakers could absorb, especially with James on the sidelines. It's not fair, but it's reality.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Jase MedicalEmpower yourself when you purchase a Jase Case, providing you with a personal supply of 5 antibiotics that treat 50+ infections. The Lakers opened January with a stretch of 11 games in LA in their first 12, sitting at 17-17 and needing to make some noise. The only noise they made Wednesday against Miami was a sad trombone. Lakers lose 110-96 in a genuinely disgusting performance. Remove Anthony Davis (29/17/6/3/5, as he continues to put up MVP caliber numbers, and Austin Reaves, who at the least was playing hard despite poor outside shooting, and it's hard to find another Laker who distinguished himself. (Christian Wood - 13/8/3 on 5-10 shooting - was decent.)But LeBron James? Horribly inefficient offensively, missing 12 of his 18 shots and not earning a single free throw, to go along with ineffectual defense and some bad TOs. He is reportedly battling illness, but this night it was his on court production that was under the weather. Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince combined for 0 points in 48 minutes. Zero. As a team, the Lakers were 4-30 from 3-point range. They turned the ball over 10 times... in the first quarter (21 overall).Where do they go from here? Maybe things turn if/when players return (no Russell, Hachimura or Vincent on Wednesday). But the level of play goes beyond just missing players. As Davis said after the game, they have to figure it out, sooner rather than later, and if they can't it's going to get ugly fast.Or uglier, at least.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Among the worst losses in recent Lakers history. The Lakers are not in a great spot. Not in the standings (10th in West), not in the training room (D'Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent are all banged up, and even the guys who are playing aren't healthy). But is it time to hit the panic button? Well, this month, and more specifically, the first 12 games of it, are likely to answer this question. The Lakers need to make up some ground in the West, and more importantly, start developing some consistency, over this long stretch of home games. If they can't, even against good competition, they could find themselves in big trouble. The panic button will be mashed by fans, at the least, and questions about Darvin Ham's job security will start growing. It won't be pretty, and will once again start injecting a lot of drama into a franchise that has managed to avoid it. So what's the problem with Ham? Why does the team seem like it doesn't have a true identity? How much is circumstance? How much could the coaching staff fix? Would giving more minutes to Max Christie, potentially at the expense of Cam Reddish, be a potential step in the right direction? Why or why not, and how would Ham have to utilize Christie to make his minutes consistently positive? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Could drama be returning to the Lakers franchise? The Lakers arrived in New Orleans at 3:30 am Sunday morning, and were missing Cam Reddish (groin) and D'Angelo Russell (bruised tailbone), finishing out a long stretch of road play with tons of back-to-backs. In theory, nothing had to give. And it didn't.The Lakers took one on the chin, losing to the Pelicans 129-109 Sunday night, to limp into the new year at a very mediocre 17-17. Better than last year, but on the other hand the Western Conference is also further ahead of where it was last year, as well. So as 2024 rolls in, the Lakers have a significant challenge in front of them. And it got even harder Sunday, as Rui Hachimura, who had been inserted into the starting lineup by Darvin Ham in what seemed to be more than a temporary move in replacement of Reddish, hurt his calf after eight minutes of play. Ham said the Lakers were definitely concerned, given that Hachimura left and couldn't return. So we'll see how that goes, and what kind of lineup the Lakers would roll out should Hachimura need to miss time.Overall, the Lakers are tired and disorganized. They've got two stars who have been relatively healthy and playing as expected (Anthony Davis, in particular, has been MVP quality), but the supporting cast, for a variety of reasons, hasn't played up to expectations. Performance and injury have made it difficult for Ham to really understand and respond appropriately to get the best mix on the floor, but at the same time, last year Ham seemed more successful making it clear what the team's expectations were, and how they planned to achieve them.Everything outside of the stars needs to improve over the final 48 games. The supporting cast has to elevate. The coaching staff needs to do better.Otherwise, a season that started with so much excitement and promise will go down as a tremendous disappointment.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: The Lakers get throttled in New Orleans.SEGMENT 2: Rui Hachmura is injured, with some concern about his health going forward.SEGMENT 3: What has gone wrong over the first 34 games?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!HungryrootHungryroot is the easiest way to get fresh, high-quality food delivered to your door.
