Tonight we are scheduled to talk to SICW owner/promoter Herb Simmons. We were scheduled to talk to him a few weeks ago about the FITE app. However, a few days before the show, Herb's long time friend and partner in SICW, legendary WRESTLING AT THE CHASE commentator Larry Matysik passed away. This Saturday, Herb and the SICW crew put on an event to pay tribute to Larry, including a major steel cage match. With our remaining time we are going to discuss the question of whether complacency is killing the WWE product. Attendence is dropping not only at non televised house shows but even on RAW and SmackDown Live TV. Entire building sections tarped off, lights only aimed at one side of a building to cover the lack of audience. The ratings numbers are dropping as well, with RAW posting its lowest numbers ever, and this on the go home show prior to their last pay per view of the year. Did buying WCW away from Ted Turner kill Vince McMahon's motivation to make good matches and angles? Has programming everything literally down to the second killed the spark that makes live audiences react and viewers want to turn in? Is there anyone out there that can be a strong number two that can force WWE to step up their game back to the level of the Monday Night Wars? We'll discuss all of this and other items TONIGHT.
SOUND OFF 575 has more thoughts on the worst Monday Night Raw of all time... a rebuttal to Xavier Woods who says fans who complain about the shows are entitled infants... a big scheduling change for NXT over Wrestlemania weekend... FOX wants Ronda Rousey on Smackdown next year and why that's a good thing... Asuka earns a spot in the women's TLC match and why Becky Lynch should drop the title to Charlotte... thoughts on the Edge & Christian Show premiere and Edge's mother passes away... the death of Larry Matysik and my accidental visit to the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame... WALTER signs with WWE, but says he has no interest in going to Raw or Smackdown... a not-so-shocking stipulation of the deals WWE signed with indy promotions in the U.K. and what it means for the company's global expansion... AJ Styles against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania?... why Ric Flair was WRONG to say Kevin Nash has no talent and ranking the three best matches of Nash's career... thoughts on this blockbuster Mets trade that sends Robinson Canoe back to New York... what the hell was the deal with Beaver Cleavage?... and MATCH #9 in our Top 10 Countdown of the greatest championship matches in Royal Rumble history! Our original plan, as we discussed last night, was to bring Great North Wrestling promoter and previous guest Hannibal on with our friend SICW promoter Heb Simmons to dicuss their issues with FITE. Because Herb is dealing with the passing of his long time friend and partner, legendary St. Louis wrestling personality Larry Matysik we are postponing that conversation for sometime in December. Thankfully, we have joining us one of our favorite ERN family members and Katie's adopted uncle, former Ohio Valley Wrestling manager, the man who prepared many current WWE stars for the big time, including John Cena (And you STILL owe him residual money Cena!), Kenny Starmaker Bolin. Whenever Kenny is on it's usually fun and laughs as Kenny riffs on everything from wresting to politics and whatever tickles his fancy at the moment. Tonight, however, Kenny is bringing us his serious side. Kenny is very concerned about the issues affecting our world. He has done a lot of research along with bringing in experts from all over to advise him. Based on all of this, Kenny has made a major decision about his future path. Tonight, Kenny Bolin will make an announcement exclusively for our listeners. This announcement will change the face not only of the United States, but of the entire world. Please be prepared for this major announcement. Open your minds, hearts and wallets for this future changing pronouncement from the one and only Kenny Starmaker Bolin.
John Pollock and Wai Ting review WWE RAW 11/26/18: WWE was in Milwaukee for Raw and featured Baron Corbin’s heel unit destroying babyfaces Finn Balor and Elias, Dean Ambrose gets vaccinated from the audience, Seth Rollins held an Open Challenge for the Intercontinental title, Alexa Bliss is slotted into a new role, an update from Braun Strowman and his elbow, and more.We also discuss TODAY’S TOP STORIES with the WWE making several big moves with the NXT UK brand with new contract restrictions, the signing of Walter, and we will chat about Saturday’s Golden Boy fight between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, and the passing of Larry Matysik.
