Every era in this sport has had at least one gigantic star that took over the sport. They weren't always the GOAT contenders, but they definitely had something special to them. Whether it was the Fedor's, the Chuck Liddell's, or the McGregor's, you simply couldn't avoid them while they were around.... for better or worse, but mostly for the better.

Without a doubt, Chuck Liddell was the biggest start in the UFC's history when he was on top. The world knew him if they didn't know anyone else inside the UFC, but there was one man the public was totally unaware of who had beaten him before and little did they know, would again. That man was Rampage Jackson.

With UFC Fight Night: Dawson vs. Green being a matter of days away, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by one half of Saturday's main event as UFC lightweight Grant Dawson joins an episode of UFC Unfiltered that also features NFL-player turned MMA super fan Ryan Clark. At the very beginning of the show, Matt is pleased to find out that Grant Dawson is as big of a Star Wars fan as him — leading to a passionate conversation about the characters and storylines that live inside of the all-time classic franchise's multimedia universe. Before wrapping up his interview, the UFC's 10th-ranked lightweight Dawson shares some of his thoughts on what it means to be headlining his first UFC main event against a tough veteran like Bobby Green who fights with a unique, one-of-a-kind style inside the cage. Shortly after, the guys are joined by retired 13-year NFL veteran Ryan Clark, who begins his conversation with Jim and Matt by explaining how a lifelong football player from Louisiana discovered a passion for consuming martial arts during Chuck Liddell's reign as UFC light heavyweight champion. Clark then goes on to share how he got involved in co-hosting the DC & RC podcast with former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier, a Louisiana native himself. The guys go on to chat about big time fights they're looking forward to before closing off the show by plugging this Saturday's intriguing UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas.

Frank Shamrock calls himself "The First Super Athlete" in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Some might say that Frank lacks humility, but he was the first UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and retired undefeated from the organization. He revolutionized MMA and went deeper than anyone else, studying the body and optimizing his performance. While others focused on technical fighting, Frank dug into the biomechanics and became a force to be reckoned with. But get this, Frank didn't start off as a fighter. Actually, he found MMA while he was in jail at the tender age of 11. Frank had left his abusive home and turned to crime as a way to protect himself and get out of his situation. Sad, but true.Fast forward a bit, and Frank is in prison at 17 for 3 and a half years. That's when he had his big "aha" moment. He realized that he had ruined his life with 20 felonies, no education, and a baby to support.Frank understood that he had hit rock bottom, but he wasn't going to let that hold him back. He learned that changing his mindset and taking action was the first step to rebuilding his life. Now, Frank is an inspiration to all of us.A former criminal who became a champion, Frank Shamrock's journey and lessons can inspire anyone, whether they're fighters or not. It's all about having the right mindset and taking action to overcome any obstacle.Links and Resources:Follow Frank on TwitterCheck out Frank's WebsiteAlso Mentioned:“Bound by Blood” DocumentaryEgo is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday------------What do YOU think of the show?
