Welcome to the Two Hundred & Second Edition of The Chronicles of Podcast, These are The Chronicles of Jonathan Davenport Jonathan joins us to talk about his incredible career in art, design, and storytelling. From falling in love with drawing through classic 80s cartoons like The Transformers, to building a career driven by imagination and narrative, Jon walks us through the moments that shaped him as an artist. We dive into his early days working as a writer and designer in video games, how storytelling became the backbone of his creative process, and how that passion led to collaborations with some of the biggest companies in the world including Disney, Nickelodeon, Mattel and more. Jon also shares the incredible story of answering a Craigslist advert posted by professional wrestler Xavier Woods, which sparked a life-changing working relationship that has now lasted over 12 years. That connection led to Jon designing iconic wrestling gear for WWE tag team The New Day and becoming a key creative force behind their visual identity, as well as many more professional wrestlers since then. We also talk about his work in film, including F+ starring Randy Couture, and the powerful animated short Bridges, created alongside WWE Superstar Big E, celebrating Black History through the story of Ruby Bridges. Also this week, we pay tribute to legendary snooker commentator John Virgo, who sadly passed away this week. From there, things take a sharp left turn as Tom challenges Jamie to create his ultimate fantasy 80s rock festival line-up. Story Time with Tom delivers one of the most unbelievable true stories we've ever covered, involving a billionaire, penis enlargement surgery and a tragic outcome. Jamie then brings us one of the most British stories of the year as South Tyneside Council reveal the newly voted names for their bin lorries, including of course, Binny McBin Face, much to Tom's dismay. The boys also catch up on their weeks, with Jamie finally back at work while continuing his long-running WWE rewatch journey through Survivor Series 2002. Tom has a quieter week as he prepares for his partner's birthday while getting increasingly excited for the upcoming Six Nations rugby and the Super Bowl. As always, the regular segments are back. Callum returns with brand new Treachings, including a surprisingly deep thought about frozen water. Tom's Journal rounds up the funniest things he's found online over the past week, Single of the Week highlights two brand new music releases we think deserve your attention, and Jamie's audience participation challenge asks listeners to invent their own custom crisp/chip flavour. South Bend Cubs Fall to TinCaps 8–4; Kohl Franklin Makes Rehab Start The South Bend Cubs dropped Tuesday’s day game to the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 8–4, in front of a packed crowd of 6,000 fans at Four Winds Field on Education Day. The afternoon featured the return of right-hander Kohl Franklin, making his first live appearance since the 2024 season. Franklin, on a rehab assignment, pitched two innings and showed some early-season rust, allowing three runs on four hits while walking three and striking out one. Johzan Oquendo followed with an inning of relief, giving up one run on two hits. The Cubs’ bullpen got a major lift from Evan Aschenbeck, who tossed 4.1 innings of strong relief. The lefty allowed just one run and helped stabilize the game while conserving arms for the series ahead. On the offensive side, Edgar Alvarez put the Cubs on the board in the bottom of the 8th with a solo home run, trimming the TinCaps’ lead to 8–2. The Cubs mounted a late rally in the 9th, loading the bases and scoring two runs—one on catcher’s interference and another on a bases-loaded walk. But Fort Wayne reliever Xavier Woods struck out the final two batters to seal the win for the TinCaps.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
