In episode 45, Alex dives into Johnny Valentine and how he constantly goes viral with a skit concept promoting his song. Alex then goes into how to create 8 figure funnels and why they're crucial for success. This episode is one of my favorites, hope y'all enjoy. Send it to a friend.

We're back true believer!! Episode 2, Season 1 is upon us and we're just gonna get the Utica-stuff and Wrestling-stuff out of the way, early. Tim Woods, also known by his ring name "Mr. Wrestling", was a professional wrestler who was active from the 1960s to the 1980s. He was born on July 28, 1934 in Utica, New York and started his professional wrestling career in the early 1960s. Known for his hard-hitting and technical style, as well as his charisma and in-ring showmanship, Woods competed in various regional promotions throughout the United State, including the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). One of the most famous incidents in Woods' career occurred in 1975, when he was involved in a plane crash with fellow wrestlers Ric Flair, Johnny Valentine, and Bob Bruggers. The crash left him with a broken back and other serious injuries, but he managed to crawl out of the wreckage and flag down help. This incident became known as the "plane crash that changed wrestling", and is often cited as one of the reasons why wrestling became more mainstream and popular in the 1980s. Despite his relatively short career, Tim Woods is still remembered as a legendary wrestler, a pioneer in the industry and just maybe, "The Man Who Saved Wrestling". As a bonus, Famo leads Randal on a fascinating roadtrip through the most "Kayfabe-breaking moments" in Pro-Wrestling history. All that and more on Episode 2: "The Man Who Saved Wrestling"!!
In this week's episode we watch a match that none of us were even alive for! It's 1969 and Bull Curry takes on Johnny Valentine in a 2 out of 3 falls match from the Sam Houston Coliseum. Although Greg “The Hammer” Valentine called this a classic, we all agree its far from a classic and none of us can even understand the finish. In addition, both Mike and Jim struggle with this week's, “Who the F### is that Guy?” and in this week's “This or That” there's a unanimous decision about Tape Trading over watching PPVs. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sixmantagpodcast/support

Soul and rhythm and blues singer Jackie Wilson was a legendary artist and performer. Elvis Presley labelled himself ‘the white Jackie Wilson' and Michael Jackson dedicated his 1984 Grammy for Thriller to Jackie in a heartfelt speech. DJ and presenter Scarlett O'Malley has also had a life-long obsession with Jackie Wilson. So when she discovered there was a Jackie Wilson tribute artist called Bobby Brooks she wanted to know more. How do you come to impersonate a legend like Jackie? She meets Bobby in New York and uncovers an extraordinary tale. Bobby has been impersonating Jackie Wilson since the 1990s. He grew up in foster care, a poorly, sick child. He never knew his mum or dad and his name was given to him by the state. As a young adult he joined the Navy and found himself in Hawaii. It was in a Karaoke bar one night, singing, that Bobby was first spotted by music producer Peter Hernandez. He was persuaded to sing with Peter's doo-wop group the Love Notes. Over the next few years people would often comment that he looked just like Jackie Wilson. On the advice of another music producer, Bobby began to sing and perform the odd Jackie number and eventually he was persuaded to try a full impersonation. His career took off. People adored him being Jackie Wilson. It was during a Legends in Concert tour in Atlantic City that Bobby met Motown's The Four Tops, and discovered something extraordinary that would change his life forever. With interviews from soul singers Bettye Lavette and Michael Lizzmore aka Blasé, vocal coach and singer Johnny Valentine, and Blues and Soul founder John Abbey. Presenter/producer Scarlett O'Malley A Little Cactus production for BBC Radio 4

This Week The Guys Bring You Case 00103 Ric Flair Plane Crash 1975 In 1975, Ric Flair was in a plane crash which killed the pilot and paralysed fellow wrestler Johnny Valentine. Flair, early on in his career at this point, was told he'd never be able to wrestle again after his spine was broken. But he defied all odds and went on to become one of the biggest names in wrestling. In October 1975, three years after making his wrestling debut, Ric Flair was on a flight over North Carolina. He was 26-years-old at the time and his promising wrestling career had only just begun. In 1981, six years after he was told he'd never wrestle again, he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Dusty Rhodes and became one of the founding members of The Four Horsemen. Flair's final match for WWE was against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 in 2008. Since 2011, he's remained in a non-wrestling role for WWE. Over his 40-year career as a professional wrestler, Ric Flair was given various nicknames as well as winning several titles. Here is part two of Fumi & Justin's profile on Antonio Inoki. The two focused on Inoki's wrestling career in the late 1960s and early 1970s with JWA, when Inoki and Shohei “Giant” Baba formed a super-team in the wake of Rikidozan's passing, BI Platoon. They also covered Inoki's first big singles win a few years later when he beat Johnny Valentine for the UN championship, or the same title that's ⅓ of AJPW's Triple Crown today. Additionally, Fumi & Justin talked in detail about the dissolution of JWA in the early '70s and the formation of both NJPW (Inoki + Karl Gotch) and AJPW (Baba + the Funk Brothers) in 1972, plus Inoki's historic 1975 “Broadway” match against Billy Robinson, the debut of Inoki's Octopus Hold, comparisons with Baba as a singles wrestler throughout the year, VHS and BETA-MAX talk and lots more. The next Write That Down! will cover Inoki's career from the late '70s into the 1980s, introducing new players into the mix, like Stan Hansen, Tiger Jeet Singh, Hulk Hogan, Bruiser Brody, and Andre the Giant. We'll also go into more detail on Inoki's unrecognized WWWF World Heavyweight Championship win over Bob Backlund. In this interview we talk about why people think wrestling shows are fake and whether wrestlers are getting hurt (spoiler alert: it's real!). We talk about some of the famous wrestlers like Johnny Valentine, famous matches, and how nowadays social media are influencing our perception of this ancient discipline. With his wealth of experience, Tom shares a lot of motivating stories not only about training, but also about determination and getting through life in general. As part of his ongoing quest to Unmask the Truth™, KFR host Scott Bowden calls his next witness in the Mil Mascaras Monday Night Mystery: Mike Mooneyham, the real-life Matt Brock (sans booze) of pro wrestling columnists. Under oath (or “oak,” as Joe LeDuc would say), Mike testifies exactly what Jerry Jarrett shared on the record with the seasoned reporter regarding what has become the most controversial appearance ever in the Memphis territory—which covers a hell of a lot of ground. In addition, Mike also unveils how he lobbied to start the nation’s premier newspaper column devoted to wrestling in an era when most editors balked at such chicanery receiving mainstream coverage–and in the Sports section no less. The two rasslin’ writers talk their shared humble beginnings writing for the Apters mags, and why Mooneyham eventually stopped working with the likes of The Wrestler and Inside Wrestling in favor of the Norman H. Kiezer publications. Mike also details carefully walking the proverbial top rope a la the The Spoiler (Spoiler alert: Don Jardine) as he interviewed such legends as Ric Flair, Tim Woods and Johnny Valentine in the kayfabe era. Folks, take your seats in the courtroom—because as a wise dude once said: “New sh*t has come to light, man.” Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/between-the-sheets/donations

Yet another week of being a skeleton crew featuring John, Antonio, and a freshly returned Garry. As per usual, there's a lot to cover with just not enough time to do it. Ranging from notable events of the week to your usual pop culture chat. First order of business, we wish our very own Johnny Valentine a happy 25th birthday. And with the big two-five comes special car loan privileges -- a proudly British Aston Martin Vantage. The conversation progresses to what Garry got up to in Samsung's UNPACKED event these past few days, hosted in the heart of San Francisco. Garry goes on to gush about the technical and design prowess of Samsung's S20 Ultra, as well as how "sexy" the Samsung Z Flip is as a "statement phone". Of course, no Sharperners would be complete without us giving our two cents about the current going-ons of pop culture. With Billie Eilish's newly released No Time To Die theme being the topic of discussion this time around, as well as the first footage of Robert Pattinson as a costumed Batman, and plenty more in-between moments.

One of the toughest, most rugged competitors ever to come down the pike, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine more than carried on the tradition first established by his legendary father, the late Johnny Valentine. A top-ranked Superstar during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, his career saw him earn a slew of singles and tag team championships in different eras of sports-entertainment history in the NWA, WCW and WWE. In the late 70s and early 80s, Valentine bounced between the NWA and WWE. "The Hammer" held the NWA Mid-Atlantic (every territory had their own tag team champions) World Tag Team Title with Ric Flair. Valentine also held the WWE World Team Title with Brutus Beefcake. As a singles competitor, Valentine won the United States Championship in the NWA and the Intercontinental Championship in WWE. Perhaps most impressive is the fact that Valentine is one of the few Superstars who can lay claim to competing on the NWA's first Starrcade (he defeated "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in a Dog Collar Match to win the United States Championship) as well as the first WrestleMania (he successfully defended the Intercontinetal Championship against Junkyard Dog). After leaving WWE, "The Hammer" made frequent appearances on WCW Monday Nitro as late as 1997 and returned to compete on WWE Monday Night Raw in 2005, 35 years after his debut match! Greg "The Hammer" Valentine's hard-hitting style in the ring will never be forgotten by those who saw him, and along with fellow WWE Hall of Famers, "Nature Boys" Flair and Buddy Rogers, Valentine helped make the figure-four leglock a staple of sports-entertainment. Meet: Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.
Episode 130 is Tom's exclusive interview with WWE Hall of Famer Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. The legend talks about the upcoming 350 documentary, including life on the road with Roddy Piper, training with Stu Hart, as well as the WWE Hall of Fame and his father, the late Johnny Valentine. Raised in the beautiful island state of Hawaii, John Valentine has spent most of his life entertaining in the heart of Waikiki, eventually becoming one of the most sought after live musicians in the islands.John began his music career sharing the spotlight with high school friend Pat Miguel. The duo, known as Night Splendor, immediately found itself with a large and faithful following in the Waikiki circuit. They eventually joined the Dick Jensen Show performing their favorite impersonations.John and Pat went on to perform with the Love Notes, an oldies review that was a huge favorite among the locals and tourists alike. With John’s vocal talent and musical direction, the Lovenotes became one of the island’s greatest sensations, taking time away from home to tour the Midwest and Tokyo Japan. While in Japan, John began to train and mentor his sister’s son Peter (Bruno) to dance and sing like Elvis. The next step in John’s career took him to the 30th floor of the Sheraton Waikiki and the spectacular Hanohano Room. There he performed with the classic trio, Stardust led by Brian Robertshaw. During this time, he moonlighted as an Elvis impersonator in Aloha Las Vegas at the Beachcomber, along with his sister Bernie who paid tribute to Tina Turner and his nephew Bruno Mars who was the show’s Michael Jackson impersonator.John along with Zanuck Lindsey formed Rock Hard Hawaii – an exciting band that gives a high-energy boost to conventions and other special events. The band features classic rock across the decades including a selection of contemporary music.Today John is sharing his talent island-wide at a variety of venues including Moana Surfrider’s Beach Bar, Hard Rock Cafe and more. See the calendar for a current schedule.John is honored and excited to share the stage with both Kalapana and the legendary Henry Kapono, both for shows here in Hawaii and on the road. Teaming up with these great musicians is an incredible opportunity to share the classic music of Hawaii across the globe. New performances are being released regularly. Keep an eye on the calendar and tour schedule for updates. While entertaining has been his primary bread and butter, John’s true love is working in the recording studio as a producer. The Hawaii Music Award winning Guitars of Hawaii showcases Hawaii’s finest guitar players including the late great Mackie Feary & Danny Otholt.Power of Two Johnny & Yvette Nii released a CD in 2006 that was honored a Hawaii Music Award nominee. Since then John has gone on to release many more CDs. Find John on iTunes or check out his CD page for more information.

The two rasslin’ writers talk their shared humble beginnings writing for the Apters mags, and why Mooneyham eventually stopped working with the likes of *The Wrestler* and *Inside Wrestling* in favor of the Norman H. Kiezer publications. Mike also details carefully walking the proverbial top rope a la the The Spoiler (Spoiler alert: Don Jardine) as he interviewed such legends as Ric Flair, Tim Woods and Johnny Valentine in the kayfabe era. Folks, take your seats in the courtroom—because as a wise dude once said: “New sh*t has come to light, man.” Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/between-the-sheets/donations Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands
