Here is episode 107 of John Arezzi's Pro Wrestling Spotlight Podcast, reviewing the original broadcasts of show 262, which aired on 1240 AM WGBB in West Babylon, NY on January 8th, 1995. Marsh and I bring on 2 guests for the podcast on this episode, which is probably the most explosive show we've done since beginning it 107 episodes ago. I comment on the recent Vince McMahon lawsuit and horrific scandal - and it's repercussions, and the history of my coverage of McMahon.   On the guest front - a reunion between me and Mike Memphis after 30 years is a highlight for me.  I've know Mike since 1972, when he became a member of the Fred Blassie Fan Club. Mike went on to become a widely known Elvis Presley impersonator, and we discuss our history and review a call he had with Paul E. Dangerously on WEVD.   Our 2nd guest is wrestling historian Evan Ginzburg, who reviews his interview with Marsh and I with Eddie Guerrero, following the death of Art Barr. Marsh and I return from our Holiday break to begin the final 7 episodes of the original PWS run! We discuss the movie The Iron Claw, The Rock's return to WWE and the recent goings on with AEW before going back in time to pull some classic clips from the past. Don Laible joins us in the studio back in 1994 - having come to NY for the weekend to attend the ECW event in Philadelphia, and the autograph show that we attended that same weekend in New Jersey. Bob Orton is also on the show and discusses his 14 year old son Randy in a fascinating part of the interview! Brian Last calls in with a lengthy report from the NWA tournament promoted by Dennis Coraluzzo, which makes for another very cool part of this show. Lots of callers, promos, and classic commercials. And the answer to the question that has driven Arezzi nuts over the past several weeks, involving identifying the music a caller from 29 years played as a prank. This week you get the answer lol! Kris & David are guestless this week as we discuss the partial week that was November 25th - November 29th, 1994. We start off with WCW, where we talk about Eric Bischoff getting a promotion of sorts and what that meant, as well as the WCW creative structure at the time which was basically Hulk Hogan and everyone else. We also talk about Randy Savage appearing on Chet Coppock's NewSport Talk, Gene Okerlund's hotline shenanigans, and much more in an always entertaining WCW section. We also go international, talking about Keiji Mutoh & Hiroshi Hase winning the IWGP tag titles, AAA being in a state of flux thanks to issues with their U.S. expansion and the death of Art Barr, and more, before coming back to the United States. There, we talk about ECW taping TV in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, Jim Cornette asking to manage The Gangstas in SMW, Paul Alperstein's AWF continuing with its first/forgotten cycle of TV, NWA Dallas drawing their alleged biggest crowd, and much more. We then close with the WWF, where Diesel wins the WWF Title from Bob Backlund at Madison Square Garden after heavy foreshadowing on the TV that aired the day of the show, plus we look at how his persona as champion should've been booked. Kris & David are, once again, joined by Robert O'Connor (@ghostofquinones), he whose views may not reflect those of Between The Sheets, to discuss the week plus that was June 26-July 4th, 1994. We talk about the buildup to WCW's first Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair match at Bash at the Beach 1994, with Hogan “training” with George Foreman and advising Jimmy Hart to punch out Sherri Martel, plus all kinds of other WCW goodies. We then go to Japan where we talk about Tom Zenk in AJPW, Art Barr and MAX MOON in NJPW, a major WAR show, and all kinds of other Japan goodness. We also talk about Mexico's Double Power shows ending via a major falling out between AAA and the UWA, before going back to the United States to talk about Cactus Jack throwing down his WCW Tag Team Championship belt on ECW in ECW, SMW airing a “training video” featuring Jim Cornette's F.I.T.E. “union,” Nobutaka Araya and Takashi Okano as the Masters of the Orient in Memphis, Chris Adams winning the GWF Championship in Dallas, and so much more. We then close with the WWF. starting with the tragic death of Joey Marella and “the July 4th curse,” before moving on to Jim Ross returning to the WWF and Paul Bearer in the Heartbreak Hotel, among other things. All that and so much more on a fantastic episode of Between the Sheets!!! It's back to AAA as the mid-90s craze for Mexican wrestling was taking California by storm and led to a full PPV co-produced with WCW. This 2 out of 3 Falls Luchas de Apuestas bout was the highest rated and most fondly remembered match from that card. The ultimate rudo foreign heels of Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr put their hair on the line against beloved technicos El Hijo del Santo and Octagon under 2 out of 3 falls rules. But there are way more than three falls in this match! Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) are here to guide you through as soon as they can figure out for themselves everything that's going on. lmtyspod@gmail.com

As always, a very fun and entertaining show, so check it out!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WCW0:52:19 Eurasia: AJPW, NJPW, WAR, FMW, SPWF, W*ING, AJW, JWP, CWA, & WPW (Germany)1:15:29 Mexico: AAA, CMLL, & UWA1:43:08 Classic Commercial Break1:45:34 Halftime:2:00:30 Other USA: ECW, Peach State, SMW, USWA, AWF, & NWA Dallas2:57:26 WWF4:14:06 Patreon Preview: John Collins on No Holds Barred Radio…brother. To support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
