In this captivating interview, Actress Charlene Tilton, known for her iconic role as “Lucy Ewing” in the TV show Dallas, opens up about her faith and her co-starring role in the upcoming film God's Not Dead: In God We Trust set to hit theaters this fall in 2024.  She gives us an idea of how this new movie and her character is so relatable to our current events.  Charlene shares she understood her character, Lucy Ewing because of her own real life struggles. Her feeling of abandonment came from never knowing her father and her mother's institutionalization for mental illness.  She faced those tumultuous years by leaning on her faith in God.  Charlene shares insights about her close friendship with the late Tammy Faye Baker and the lessons we can all learn from her.  

America was watching for who shot JR Ewing in the famous "Dallas" TV show. In this series, "Lucy Ewing", JR's wayward niece, was portrayed by 17 year old Charlene Tilton. Charlene is now starring in the 5th project of the "God's Not Dead" series, and she visits with Mike in Nashville. This week, Josh and Leanna take a deep dive into that most melodramatic genre, the teenage after school special. In this episode, Lucy Ewing, the abandoned child being raised (sort of) by Miss Ellie and Jacque, is acting out, skipping school, and engaging in a not-so-secret relationship with the rugged ranch hand Ray. Lucy is 16-17 years old, and Ray is a man in his 30s, so this is rape, plain and simple. Thank goodness the Ray-Lucy statutory rape storyline is short lived. Two episodes in, and the show feels rudderless. JR is still lurking in the background as a supporting player, but we are getting glimpses that he's going to be the breakout persona. It will take another season before we get there, making this first season quite a slog. It's good for some laughs, though, along with some disco--its 1978, folks. Oh, and Josh goes on a rant about main characters being made to dance in movies and TV shows.
