Olyan időszakot élünk, amikor a tudomány iránti bizalom világszerte csökken.

Send us a text In this episode of the Bare Marriage Podcast, I am talking with Biblical Greek scholar Marg Mowczko about the true meaning of "headship" in the Bible. Marg reveals that the Greek word "kephale" (head) doesn't typically mean "leader" or "authority" in ancient literature, and that no verse actually commands men to lead their wives. Instead, head-body metaphors are used in Scripture to describe unity and mutual care and as a picture of growing into the likeness of Christ for ALL Christians. Together, Marg and I talk about the Biblical evidence of Paul's support for women in ministry roles. We also take a moment to discuss the best Bible versions for more accurate translation in key passages about submission and hierarchy. Its great to be back! In this episode Marg speaks candidly about her shock of the conflicting information between social media/sleep school, compared to the information and experience she had at The Holistic Sleep Project as she attempted to solve her little one's sleep challenges. Baby Lainey was awake between 5-18x a night, she was either being fed or rocked but to sleep each time. She was only having short and inconsistent naps. Margaret (despite having support) questioned how she could continue to work, start her child at child care and was filled with guilt and shame as she couldn't help her baby sleep well. She talks at length about her experience at sleep school and how vastly different it was to the work we fulfilled together. Margaret is transparent and articulate in this episode as she explains her experience with struggling with strong emotions, the conflicting information online, thinking her baby had low sleep needs, comparing herself to others and the prospect of being unable to continue to pursue upcoming stages in her family (work, sickness and childcare) when she and her partner just couldn't get their child to sleep despite trying everything they thought was possible. No matter how much youre struggling with sleep issues, this is the episode for you! You will see yourself in Margaret and Lainey and her advice about what to do next will be lifechanging. I assure you. This episode of the Harvard Macy Institute podcast features Marg Hay, Professor Emeritus at Monash University and leading light in the HMI community. We explore Marg's journey from health psychology to becoming an influential leader in health professions education. We talk about her penchant for ‘start ups', including pioneering work at Monash university, her involvement with Harvard Macy, and her perspectives on curriculum, assessment, and faculty development. Marg shares her experiences on the importance of being a generalist, the balance between behavioral sciences and education, and the significance of mentorship and community in her career. We reflect on innovation, leadership, embracing failure, and her ongoing passion for lifelong learning. We conclude by thinking about life and career after the ‘main act' and the many contributions still to be made. Your host for this episode is Victoria Brazil (Educators, '05, Leaders '07, Assessment ‘10). Victoria is Professor of Emergency Medicine at Bond University Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. She hosts the HMI podcast and is co-producer of Simulcast -a podcast about health care simulation.
In this powerful episode of the Equipping ELLs podcast, host Beth Vaucher sits down with two leading voices in trauma-informed and restorative education, Marg Thorsborne and Joe Brummer, for a deeply transformative conversation on rethinking student behavior, discipline, and classroom culture. Marg, a global pioneer in restorative practices, and Joe, a trauma survivor turned international peacebuilder, bring decades of lived experience and professional wisdom to the table. Together, they co-authored Becoming a Trauma-Informed Restorative Educator, a vital guide for educators ready to move beyond punitive systems and foster true healing and connection in schools. This episode explores the critical differences between behaviorism and trauma-informed approaches, debunking the myth that all behavior is a choice. Joe explains how trauma shapes students' nervous systems, causing many to enter classrooms in survival mode rather than learning mode. Marg highlights the importance of adult self-regulation, reminding us that students need at least one regulated brain in the room — and that starts with the educator. The discussion also dives into the invisible signs of trauma and the necessity of cultivating empathy through self-awareness. Educators are encouraged to start their journey by working on their own wellness, nervous system regulation, and childhood conditioning, especially as many default to the discipline patterns they experienced as children.Listeners will learn why restorative practices aren't a “soft” alternative but a structured, empathetic approach to accountability and healing. They'll also hear the heartbreaking but eye-opening story of how misread facial expressions can trigger violence in culturally diverse classrooms — and how trauma-informed strategies could prevent such outcomes.Whether you're teaching newcomers from war-torn countries or students experiencing daily chaos at home, this episode offers grounded, research-backed strategies to help every educator foster a safe, inclusive, and emotionally available learning environment. With actionable advice and heartfelt insight, this episode is a must-listen for teachers, administrators, and school counselors.
Marg has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to education, both locally and internationally. She consults with public and private sector businesses and organisations to enhance workplace relationships and manage high-level conflict and inappropriate behaviour. She is committed to improving the way people relate to each other in schools, workplaces, and other community groups by providing processes that allow deeply negative feelings to be gradually transformed into cooperation. She strongly suggests that as relationships are restored, job satisfaction, morale, and productivity can improve. This commitment to healthy relationships can also be found in her extensive work with schools to improve the way they work with young people in responding to wrongdoing, creating healthier and safer communities. Joe Brummer has been dedicated to Trauma-Informed Restorative Practices/Justice since 2008, during which he has facilitated hundreds of circles, mediations, and community conferences. Over the past 17 years, he has trained thousands of individuals in these transformative practices, including educators, parents, workplace professionals, diversion staff and volunteers, and community members. Joe is the author of the best-selling book *Building A Trauma-Informed Restorative School: Skills and Approaches to Improve Culture and Behavior* (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2020), and is also the co-author, alongside RJ pioneer Margaret Thorsborne, of *Becoming a Trauma-Informed Restorative Educator: Practical Skills to Change Culture and Behavior* (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2024). Joe is a member of the adjunct faculty at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, where he teaches the course *Peacebuilding Skills: Dialogue, Trauma & Restorative Justice*. He has appeared on dozens of podcasts and webinars and has presented at national and international conferences. Joe has completed the certification course in Dr. Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model in Education and is a member of the Attachment and Trauma Network's Training Collaborative.

21.30 A semmitől a mindenségig: Knausgård témaválasztásai. Send us a textCersei learns of the attack on the Reach by the Iron Born and feels unmotivated to react. She gets a gift from Ser Loras, which leaves Cersei with a golden win-win opportunity. She has an unexpected drop-in by Falyse, whose husband has been killed by Bronn and also confessed Cersei's plot. Qyburn is given instructions that Falyse should never see the light of day again. Finally, she tries to take Taena roughly, as Robert once did with Cersei, but she can't get into it.
