First of three embedded edge podcasts from embedded world in Nuremberg highlights news on processing, microcontrollers, memory and FPGAs. Plus, a special report from the Goodwood Festival of Speed on the tech behind a special 2021 McLaren 720S Spider sports car.
The McLaren 720S is one of the most interesting supercars on the road largely thanks to its incredible aerodynamic-integrated styling. This potent machine sits near the top of McLaren's sports car lineup, and slots just below the even wilder McLaren Senna and 765LT cars. That said, this McLaren is far from being a slouch. Powering this supercar is a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 that makes 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. If you're wondering where the name came from: look at the metric conversion for horsepower. In metric, the McLaren 720S makes a fitting 720 ps. On this episode of Quick Spin, Mark Vaughn hops behind the wheel of this McLaren 720S and puts it through its paces. Adding even more to the conversation, this McLaren is part of the company's Certified Pre-Owned program, which gives supercar buyers some extra confidence in buying their previously loved machine. Vaughn takes you on a guided walk around the McLaren 720S and highlights some of its interesting features and design elements inside and out. Vaughn also takes you along for a ride while recording a live drive review of this McLaren. Vaughn elaborates on his thoughts with host Wesley Wren and the two talk about the McLaren CPO program, the car's features and more.

We have a pair of McLarens in the studio; Jerry's in the 2020 720S Spider and Adi has the 600LT, absolutely insane machines. We discuss them in depth, along with the new BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition. We're also comparing two very sensible and fuel efficient family crossovers, the 503-horse Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S, and the Porsche Macan Turbo.
Au programme de ce vendredi 6 décembre : l’essai de la McLaren 720S Spider, les prix de la nouvelle Hyundai i10, le Mercedes GLE Coupé en version hybride rechargeable et les premières images du Volkswagen Nivus.
We have our former managing editor Louis Vo, now of Subaru Canada, in the studio joining us. We geek out about the mid-engined C8 Corvette, the McLaren 720S Spider we had in our garage last week, and others. The Hyundai Palisade and Nissan Kicks are also outside, and Ben talks about the BMW M850i Cabriolet.

In this bumper episode of the DriveTribe podcast we discuss the hot topics of today, including which animals would be best at drifting, what the new McLaren 720S Spider is like to drive, why we love our Honda Civic Type R and the new Jeep Wrangler – and what 2019 has in store for motorsport fans. We also chat to the lovely people from Senturion Key, who have kindly sponsored this episode of the DriveTribe podcast.
Sami's supercar streak continues with a drive of the 2020 McLaren 720S Spider, which now holds the podcast record for 'fastest thing Sami has ever been inside of.' Benjamin races too, this time on ice in a rear-wheel drive Lexus IS 300 at the Lexus Sport Cup studded tire challenge - but he had to drive the 2019 Acura RDX SUV to get there. Which was worse: being sideways all day or getting used to the RDX's infotainment system?
On this episode of the Autoweek Podcast, host Rory Carroll joins Mike Pryson and Wesley Wren to talk about the 2019 Daytona 500. Adding to the mix, NASCAR enthusiast and Autoweek motorsports reporter Matt Weaver calls in to talk about what we learned from this year’s race. The guys dive into the implications -- or lack thereof -- of the race results and throw away their tinfoil hats as conspiracy theories are debunked. Friend of the show Killer Mike’s driver’s meeting is also a point of discussion. Afterward, Graham Kozak hops on a microphone to take part in the Autoweek Podcast’s only reoccurring feature -- The Pain of the Trivia Game. Rory asks questions from the 1985 edition of Autoweek’s poorly executed trivia game. Play along and submit your results below or send them to our executive producer. Wrapping the show, Jake Lingeman talks about the 2020 McLaren 600LT Spider and avoids talking about the McLaren 720S Spider -- though he does talk about driving the coupe variant.
Episode 75! For this episode Jason and James consider the many ways in which we (attempt) to balance our many proclivities, from watches to adventuring to gear and even cameras, how can one do it all? The boys dig into balancing the cost and lifecycle of gear, the need to adventure, and the endless want to upgrade. Considering both the casual and the professional side of the game, Jason and James offer their thoughts on how we can all adventure and explore our hobbies without needing to eat instant ramen every night. Rounding out a longer show, the boys have a solid set of final notes with a LEGO nod to the supercar of the 80s, what happens when you freeze to death, an excellent adventure podcast, and a book collection with something for every shelf and coffee table.
