MF equity inflows fall 40% m-o-m to one year low amid uncertainty Volatility in equity markets and concerns over economic growth dampened inflows into mutual fund schemes, including SIPs, in May. Equity inflows fell to a one-year low, dropping 40 per cent month-on-month (m-o-m) to ₹22,908 crore in May from ₹38,440 crore in April, as investor sentiment was hit by a market downturn driven by persistent foreign portfolio outflows and heightened volatility, according to AMFI data released on Wednesday. Hybrid schemes inflow nearly halved m-o-m to ₹10,560 crore ( ₹20,565 crore), while debt funds registered an outflow of ₹96,949 crore as against an inflow of ₹2.47 lakh crore in May. Meta and Reliance Industries partner to develop 168 MW, AI-enabled data centre in Gujarat Meta Inc is set to have its own 168-MW capacity AI-enabled data centre in Jamnagar set up by Reliance Industries in India within two years. The new data centre, separate from the 1 GW data centre announced by Reliance in 2025, will act as part of Meta's global infrastructure, supporting its core business and AI compute needs. As the first built-to-suit data centre capacity in India for Meta, the project underlines India's emergence as a global hub for AI infrastructure. Meta will lease capacity from the facility, expanding the company's global infrastructure, supporting its core business and AI compute needs while Reliance Industries will provide end-to-end services for the data centre lifecycle. Starlink licensing in India stuck amidst geopolitical strains Industry experts estimate geopolitical developments to have soured Starlink's chances of getting licensing approvals in India, even as the company rubbishes “unsubstantiated claims” of a regulatory freeze. Following news reports that the Indian government had frozen approvals for Starlink's commercial operations, Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Company Business Operations stated on X, “Starlink remains in active and productive discussions with the Government of India contrary to misleading stories based upon unsubstantiated claims from anonymous sources.” However, industry stakeholders speaking to businessline said Starlink's approval procedure which was considered smooth-sailing until last year has hit a rut in terms of security checks. Many attributed this to the geopolitical developments, particularly in terms of the India-US relations. Zoho launches hardware play with designed-in-India server Nathu La Eyeing tech sovereignty in the data hardware space and in a step to build the full enterprise technology stack, Zoho has launched its indigenously designed server Nathu La. Zoho says with Nathu La it has achieved equivalent performance, with 12-18 per cent lower power consumption and 20-30 per cent lower total cost of ownership (TCO). In Zoho's marquee style, the R&D work for the server platform was entirely done out of Nagpur by local talent recruited and trained by the company. The centre was set up in 2020 with an eye to play the long game in enterprise hardware. The Nathu La server motherboard and chassis platform is the result of over five years of R&D across hardware, firmware, and systems management. Based on Intel® Xeon® 6 Processors, the server is designed to optimise performance for virtualisation (VM), High Performance Computing (HPC), AI inference, and storage applications. Cannabis Store Opens in Cold Spring

State weighs second license for the village A cannabis dispensary opened in Cold Spring on Friday (May 1), nearly five years after village residents voted to allow retailers and as the state considers an application for a second shop at the Butterfield complex. Mogu opened in a small space at 137 Main St., where it sells cannabis flower grown at its farm in Warwick, pre-rolls, edibles such as gummies, disposable vapes and accessories such as grinders, lighters and rolling papers. Adults 21 and older can book five-minute appointments online or order pre-rolls and flowers for pickup. The products have names such as Bob Hope, Chubby Bunny, Jelly Donutz and Purple Runtz. The shop operates under a "microbusiness" license awarded by the state Office of Cannabis Management in November 2024 to Pleasant View Harvest LLC, based in Brewster. A microbusiness is allowed to operate a retail shop but can only sell cannabis that it grows and processes. According to its website, the dispensary is open from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, and from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. "Hopefully, we get a good name and reputation with the folks in the village and people who live in the nearby area," said the store's manager, Greg, who declined to provide his last name because cannabis is still banned by the federal government, and he said some people associated with marijuana businesses have reported having credit cards canceled. According to Cold Spring officials, the Office of Cannabis Management is also considering an application for a dispensary at 10 Julia Lane, adjacent to the U.S. Post Office. The village was notified in December of the application by NYC Sour Apple, doing business as Cannabis Realm of New York. The Office of Cannabis Management also awarded a processor license in 2024 to Two Puffs and Pass LLC, a company registered at an address in Philipstown. Processors extract concentrated cannabis and its compounds and blend, infuse and manufacture them for resale. New York legalized recreational marijuana in March 2021. Under state law, villages, towns and cities could "opt out" of allowing sales and/or on-site consumption. Cold Spring sent the issue to the ballot, and residents voted to allow retail but not on-site consumption. The Philipstown and Nelsonville boards voted to opt out of both, though they can opt in at any time with a second vote. The Beacon City Council took no action, allowing sales and on-site consumption. Today, three dispensaries operate in the city: LotusWorks Wellness, at 261 Main St., and Hudson Valley Jane, at 544 Main St., are microbusinesses, while The Station Beacon, at 463 Main St., can sell cannabis but not cultivate it. New York has 647 licensed dispensaries selling recreational marijuana. In April, the state announced that sales had exceeded $3.1 billion, including more than $400 million in 2026. Sales are taxed at 13 percent — 9 percent goes to New York State, and 4 percent is shared by the county and municipalities where the store is located. (The split on the latter is 75 percent to the city, village or town and 25 percent to the county.) Beacon estimates it will receive $15,000 this year from its three dispensaries, compared to $13,600 in 2025. Despite earning the state billions of dollars in revenues, more than two-thirds of the cannabis businesses surveyed by the Office of Cannabis Management in September 2025 were concerned or very concerned about taxes, out-of-state products infiltrating New York's market, the illegal sales of marijuana, the concentration of proximate businesses and state regulations. Less than half of businesses overall reported being profitable, with variations among retailers (58 percent), growers (46 percent) and microbusinesses (20 percent). Revenue among retailers open at least a year averaged $2.9 million, ranging from $1.2 million to $5.5 million. To boost profits, half the businesses surveyed said they were switching suppliers, cutting advertising and marketing...

DOJ Proceeds With Packer Investigation After a relatively quiet start to 2026, attention has sharply returned to the U.S. meat industry as new details emerge about a federal investigation targeting the nation's largest processors. The probe gained traction following a Nov. 7 directive from President Donald Trump, with then–Attorney General Pam Bondi and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins quickly confirming the effort. Until recently, however, little had been disclosed about its status. A new report from the Wall Street Journal offers the first substantive glimpse into the investigation's progress this year. According to the report, the Department of Justice is investigating Tyson Foods, Cargill, JBS, and National Beef for potential criminal anticompetitive practices. At the center of the inquiry is how these companies purchase cattle from ranchers—an issue that has long drawn scrutiny from producers and policymakers alike. Rollins previously signaled this focus in a January interview, highlighting what she described as widespread concern among ranchers. Many, she said, have raised persistent alarms about consolidation in the meatpacking industry and its potential impact on pricing. That consolidation, in the view of the administration, may be contributing to market conditions that disadvantage independent producers. “It's something the president—and many in our administration—believe could be resulting in unfair pricing,” Rollins noted, emphasizing that the DOJ's review is intended to address those concerns. She also framed the issue more broadly, describing it as a matter of national security. Over the past two decades, increased foreign investment in U.S. agricultural production and processing has reshaped the industry. According to Rollins, the administration is taking a closer look to ensure those shifts serve the interests of American farmers, ranchers, and consumers. This is not the first federal investigation into the meatpacking sector. During Trump's first term, a similar probe was launched in June 2020, but it produced little public information. Reports later revealed that the Justice Department closed that investigation last fall—just weeks before the president called for renewed action—without filing any charges. Now, with fresh scrutiny and new details coming to light, the industry appears to be entering a more consequential phase of oversight. At KubeCon Europe, Google Cloud's Jago Macleod and Abdel Sghiouar argued that adopting Arm for Kubernetes workloads has shifted from a complex migration to a practical, low-friction choice. After a year of production use, Google's custom Arm-based Axion processors—powering C4A and N4A instances—are positioned as broadly viable for most containerized applications, offering strong gains in performance, cost efficiency, and energy usage compared to x86. Rather than requiring a full overhaul, moving to Arm typically involves recompiling containers for a multi-architecture target and gradually rolling out via Kubernetes practices like canary deployments. While edge cases exist, they are relatively uncommon. A key enabler is GKE's compute classes, which allow workloads to express preferences across VM types, turning infrastructure decisions into automated scheduling choices rather than manual provisioning. Ultimately, the conversation points to a larger constraint: energy. As AI workloads grow, efficiency—measured in “tokens per watt”—is emerging as the defining metric, with cost savings translating directly into greater compute capacity. There's a module for that. Module name/project name: Field Widget Actions Brief history How old: created in Oct 2025 by Artem Dmitriiev (a.dmitriiev) of 1x Internet, a founding member of the AI Initiative Versions available: 1.0.0-alpha1 and 1.3.0, both of which works with Drupal 10.3 and 11.1 or newer Maintainership Actively maintained Security coverage Test coverage Documentation - includes Markdown files that explain how to set up and extend its capabilities Number of open issues: 12 open issues, 4 of which are bugs Usage stats: 24 sites Module features and usage With this module installed, a site builder can attach action buttons to form fields in Drupal entity forms, for example for creating nodes or taxonomy terms What happens when you click a button depends on what processor you associate with it, and the settings you configure for the processor. Processors can be provided by other modules, like AI or ECA. For example, you could attach a button to a tags field that when clicked will send the content of the body field to an AI agent that will return a set of suggested tags. Or, you could have it trigger an ECA model for a more deterministic flow This is all done using a plugin framework implemented by Field Widget Actions, so you also create your own custom processors to be used with action buttons One of the things that got me excited about working with the team behind Augmentor AI was the approach that module used to make AI something a user would manually trigger, and then can curate before the suggestions are saved. Field Widget Actions allows that same approach to be implemented with the AI ecosystem that is growing by leaps and bounds thanks to the team involved with Drupal's AI Initiative It's worth noting that Field Widget Actions used to be a submodule of the AI project, so if you're using a version of that older than 2.0, you may already have Field Widget Actions available in your codebase

On this November 21st episode, we examine the government's first employment report since the shutdown. The headline payroll figures were strong, but nearly every detail beneath them was troubling. Most of the job growth came from three sectors that are more vulnerable to economic swings and that offer lower compensation, raising questions about the quality and durability of recent hiring. The unemployment rate also edged up to 4.4 percent, adding yet another data point to the fading labor market. We then turn to the market's poor reaction to Nvidia's blowout earnings release. Although Nvidia continues to benefit from vast investment plans in artificial intelligence, the earnings release revealed that it may be the last to be affected if those plans are scaled back. With firms such as ChatGPT burning through enormous amounts of cash, it is far from certain that investors will remain patient long enough for their more ambitious visions to be realized. The result is a market struggling to price the boundary between promise and excess in a technology boom that may already be nearing its top.

In this episode of the Power Producers Podcast, host David Carothers sits down with Sam Louwrens, a young producer and artist known as "Can't shut up Sam" on X. The conversation explores the unique advantages of Gen Z producers, the flaws of the traditional agency model, and how to effectively compete with national brokers by being nimble and consultative. David and Sam stress the importance of moving beyond a salesperson mentality and becoming a strategic advisor who focuses on solving operational problems, not just selling a commodity. The episode also touches on the power of a fee-based compensation model and the critical need for agency cultures to support creativity and autonomy. Key Highlights: The Gen Z Producer's Advantage Sam Louwrens, a 23-year-old producer, shares how starting his career in a difficult market (California construction) forced him to specialize and learn quickly. He and David discuss how young, driven producers in the insurance industry have a significant head start on their peers in other professions, building wealth and expertise while others are still accumulating debt. From Salesman to Strategic Advisor The episode's core theme is the mindset shift from salesperson to advisor. David shares his strategy of targeting accounts with high experience mods because they represent solvable operational problems, which is far more profitable than competing on price for clean accounts. This approach allows a producer to sell solutions and operational improvement, not just a policy. The Power of Fee-Based Compensation David details his compensation model, which uses a flat fee plus a gain-share option to align his interests with the client's. He shares a real-world story of taking a large account and reducing its costs, leading to a much higher fee than the original commission while still saving the client a quarter-million dollars a year, completely flipping the flawed traditional commission model on its head. Mentorship, Freedom, and Agency Culture The conversation explores the need for agencies to provide freedom and mentorship to young producers. They argue that stifling creativity or segregating roles (as a retention tactic) will only push talented people to start their own agencies. They also emphasize the importance of a culture that values and appreciates both sales and service teams. This episode was recorded at the 2025 Western Dairy Management Conference in Reno, Nevada.Dr. Lock begins with an overview of his presentation, discussing nutrition and genomics impacts on the speed of progress in milk fat production. He also talks about historic differences in milk fat production in Europe compared to the US. With the reduction in generation interval that genomics provides, a more complete understanding of rumen and mammary metabolism will continue to be imperative. How do we supply the nutrients she needs to meet her genetic potential? (3:34)Can we feed too much 16:0? The panel discusses how palmitic and other fatty acids are incorporated into milk fat. They emphasize that no matter what, milk fat will remain a liquid at body temperature, so that does provide some limitations. Processors can alter their protocols to account for increased palmitic acid in milk fat and for increased milk fat in milk overall. (8:35)There is a gene called DGAT that can explain about 50% of the variation in milk fat content. Dr. Lock discusses some research looking at more vs less favorable DGAT profiles and how feeding palmitic acid interacted with those profiles in milk fat production. (13:04)The panel discusses whether there is a physiological limit for how much milk fat a cow can produce. Traditionally, when milk yield increased, fat yield decreased, but that is not the current case. We are learning more all the time about altering rations and using new oilseed ingredients like whole cottonseed and high-oleic soybeans. Dr. De Souza emphasizes that understanding de novo fatty acid synthesis is really important to keep pace with genomic progress. (16:08)Amino acid supplementation has recently been linked with milk fat production, with the assumed mechanism of action being increased mammary gland enzyme synthesis and activity. Dr. Lock describes a study assessing amino acid-fatty acid interactions in fresh cows. The amino acid (metabolizable protein) effect was greater for fat yield than feeding fatty acids, which was interesting. But perhaps more exciting was the effects were additive. Feeding both high metabolizable protein and 2% palmitic:oleic acid blend resulted in 9.5 kg more energy-corrected milk and a carryover effect after supplementation ceased. (22:41)Dr. Lock summarizes some of his group's work on using oilseeds in dairy diets.(28:24)Dr. De Souza and Dr. Lock give some perspective on just how much we have learned about milk components over the last several years. (34:38)Panelists share their take-home thoughts, including practical advice on increasing milk fat production and what's on the horizon for fatty acid nutrition research. Hi there, and welcome back to the Autism Little Learners podcast! I'm Tara Phillips, and today I'm joined by speech-language pathologist Alexandria Zachos for an amazing conversation all about Gestalt Language Processing. We talk about how our understanding of language development has evolved, the real struggles around prompt dependence, and why a child-led approach is so important—especially for Gestalt language processors. Alexandria shares so many helpful insights, including how we can better support these communicators by building authentic connections and honoring all the ways they express themselves. Whether you're a therapist, teacher, or parent, this episode is packed with practical strategies to encourage spontaneous language and support meaningful communication. I'm so excited for you to hear this one! Takeaways Gestalt Language Processing is a natural way of developing language. Many SLPs are unaware of Gestalt Language Development despite its long history. Prompt dependence often stems from traditional teaching strategies. Child-led therapy is essential for fostering spontaneous communication. Silence can be a powerful tool in therapy sessions. Acknowledging all forms of communication builds trust with children. Using a child's Gestalt can enhance engagement and communication. Therapists should focus on the child's interests to promote language use. It's never too late to shift from prompt dependence to child-led approaches. Building authentic relationships is key to effective communication. Bio Alexandria Zachos is the founder, clinical director, owner, and senior speech-language pathologist with Social Butterfly Inc. and Meaningful Speech® She has been a practicing SLP for 21 years and has worked extensively with gestalt language processors since 2016, utilizing Blanc's Natural Language Acquisition protocol. She educates SLPs, parents, and related professionals through her social media platforms, podcasts, blogs, and her internationally acclaimed courses on http://Meaningfulspeech.com/. When she's not wearing her SLP hat she enjoys reading fiction, walking in the woods and spending time with her husband and daughters around Chicagoland.
