Executive Producer: Christoph Falke & Ruben Schulze-FröhlichProjektleitung: Lukas HambrechtSounddesign & Produktion: Fabian SchäfflerMarketing und Ansprechpartner: Bastian SchonauerCopyrights Cover: www.oldtimer-markt.de Hosted on Acast. Live in-studio this week we have the Longbow Speedster and co-founders of Longbow Motors Daniel Davey and Mark Tapscott. They join us all the way from the UK to show off and discuss their entry into the rather quiet EV sports car space. You might be wondering - what's a Longbow Speedster? What does it have to do with a medieval weapon used in the dark ages? And what happened to the windshield? As it turns out, all three of those questions can be answered with a single word: simplicity. While the Speedster is fully electric with a claimed range of 275 miles and a 0-62 time of 3.5 seconds, it's also one of the only EVs in existence under one ton that isn't a golf cart. More importantly, it wants to bring a more traditional approach to EV motoring - a handful of tactile buttons and no screens - just driver and machine. Daniel and Mark chat with Jason and Derek about their origin stories as enthusiasts, discussing some festive cars owned like the Seat Marbella Jeans Edition, Toyota Celica ST185, and Mazda MX-6. Having a plethora of experience working at Tesla when the Roadster was in development, the bowmen of the long table also discuss how they plan to make a splash in the industry and why lightness will soon become synonymous with EVs in ways we never quite anticipated. Recorded live and fresh from Geneva, we're taking a look at Cartier's new releases for 2026. After a decade in the archives, Cartier has officially resurrected the Roadster, and we have thoughts. In this episode, we're breaking down the entire Cartier 2026 lineup - from the Y2K nostalgia of the new Roadster Collection to the "liquid gold" engineering of the Santos-Dumont mesh bracelet. Is the new, streamlined Roadster profile a win for modern wearability, or do we miss the "chunkiness" of the 2002 original? We're also diving into the 10th Anniversary of Cartier Privé, exploring the mind-bending Crash Squelette, and discussing why the Tortue moving into the core collection is the sleeper hit of the year. Plus, we tackle the "quiet luxury" trend of Cartier's off-catalogue "Ghost Dial" releases and the brand's aggressive move toward precious metals. Grab a coffee - or a glass of champagne - it's time for the Cartier Deep Dive. Send us Fan MailWe're joined by Charlotte Vowden, Motoring journalist, automotive adventurer and presenter. Her story with cars hasn't always been a passion. It starts with her Grandads Mk3 Escort, and how he would pick her up from school and 'save her' from the bullies who would throw footballs at her head as she made her way to the gate. The car was nothing special, except it really was special. Her Dad was a mobile mechanic, so was busy working a lot of the time, but his skills have really come into their own in more recent years as Charlotte inherited an MGA roadster from her other Grandfather, and she's been on a number of life affirming roadtrips since taking over the ownership.
In this episode of #TheShot of #DigitalHealth Therapy, Jim Joyce and I sit down with Yang Su and Xing Su, co-founders of Seen Health. This is the first time EVER we had twin founders on the show so was fun to find out who actually came out first and what it takes to run a business together. The two brothers were "tech & consultancy royalty", who had never touched a medical record until their own family needed help. Now, they are proving that the biggest innovation in healthcare isn't a new algorithm (though their platform is a key ingredient to scale); it's a "one-stop-shop" center where a doctor, a physical therapist, and a hot meal are all down the same hallway and a community are all a big part of being "seen". The 4 Pillars of the Seen Health Thesis: -The "Roadster" Framework: Why you must start with the $100k-per-year, high-frailty "Roadster" model to build the infrastructure that will eventually drive costs down to $1k-per-month for everyone. -The Operator's Edge: Why having "outsider" eyes allowed them to see that 70% of senior care is actually logistics, transportation, and nutrition - not just medicine. -The Focus Trap: Why they turned down "easy" revenue from selling their software to stay "unapologetically" focused on the elderly patient in front of them. -Hospitality as Medicine: Borrowing the "Ritz Carlton" philosophy to ensure seniors feel "seen" rather than processed by an institution. Fun mentions as always: Erik Milster, Elon Musk, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., Tesla, Uber, Salesforce, Google, Coursera, Andrew Ng [00:02:40] The 3-Minute Birth Gap: Why being the "older" twin created a lifelong competitive rub. [00:09:00] The "Silicon Valley Dream" vs. Reality: Leaving Google and Stanford's Andrew Ng to find "scars" in the real world. [00:16:10] The Magical Twin Synchronicity: How Uber and Quip were both acquired on the exact same day, charting a course back to each other. [00:18:20] Discovering PACE: Why a 50-year-old model from San Francisco's Chinatown is still the gold standard. [00:25:20] The San Gabriel Valley Bet: Why they chose hyper-focus over "general" scaling. [00:32:40] The Tesla Roadster Analogy: How to scale high-touch care by driving the "blueprint" cost down from $100k. [00:43:00] The EHR From Scratch: Why they built their own tech stack instead of buying "off the shelf". [00:47:30] The Refusal to Commercialize: Turning down tech revenue to protect the patient experience. [00:51:50] The Closer: "Unapologetically yourself"—advice to their younger twin selves.

Executive Producer: Christoph Falke & Ruben Schulze-FröhlichProjektleitung: Lukas HambrechtSounddesign & Produktion: Fabian SchäfflerMarketing und Ansprechpartner: Bastian SchonauerCopyrights Cover: www.oldtimer-markt.de Hosted on Acast. In this episode of the Used Car Dealer Podcast, Zach talks with Amit Chandarana, CEO of Curbee, to unpack how mobile service is reshaping dealership retention—and why fixed ops is increasingly becoming a front-and-center growth engine. Amit shares lessons from his career at Toyota, Edmunds, and Roadster, and how those experiences influence the way Curbee helps dealers operationalize mobile service (not just “buy software”). The conversation dives into the real adoption hurdles inside dealerships, why change management matters as much as technology, and how mobile service can protect shop capacity while capturing customers who would otherwise go to quick lube or independent shops. They also break down Curbee's newest platform release, M.A.R.S. 2 (Mobile and Remote Service)—including recall intelligence designed for mobile, fleet/multi-vehicle flexibility, and expanded DMS integrations—plus Curbee's rebrand and what it signals about the company's next chapter. ⏱️ Key Questions & Timestamps 00:12 – Intro & Amit's background 01:34 – Career path + how OEM/dealer dynamics shaped his leadership 04:45 – Any other kind of learnings from Roadster or that time in DR that have bled into Curbee? 06:36 – Biggest shifts in dealership service culture over the last decade 08:07 – Curbee's mission + the “16 choices” service-retention problem + ROI basics 11:30 – How do you balance building technology versus consulting dealers operationally on running a mobile service program? 13:07 – What is M.A.R.S. 2 and why it matters for dealers 16:17 – What's the biggest obstacle dealers face in launching mobile service today — mindset, tech, staffing, or something else? 18:55 – 3–5 year outlook: how mobile service evolves with OEMs + expectations 20:28 – Are there emerging technologies that you believe will fundamentally change how fixed ops teams operates in the future? 21:29 – Do you see OEM and dealer partnerships evolving as mobile service becomes a core part of the service mix? 22:24 – Why Curbee rebranded + what's next

The guys return to the studio this week with Hanukkah gift fails, wizard hat origins, Elon Musk's maybe-flying Roadster, and the main question of the week: is Tucker really moving to Qatar? One can only pray... Also this week features Mossad sharks, Candace Owens contradictions, Nick Fuentes delusions, and Trump's… well, very Trumpy takes. Of course we throw in some drunk raccoons and a noose lapel pin that probably shouldn't exist just to round it out. ________ ** Give the best Chanukah gift this year - A KC Subscription!! ** https://2ly.link/2Tehn ________ ** Book your getaway at Altair Hotel in Miami with Kosher Food, Separate Swimming and more! In this episode of That Don't Sound Right, Peter and Cecil dive into one of Cecil's most unbelievable real-life stories — the day he actually won a brand-new 1990 Mazda Miata in a high school raffle while he was in pharmacy school. From the shock of hearing his name called, to picking up the shiny red roadster, to the reactions on campus, Cecil walks through every twist of this once-in-a-lifetime moment. The hosts mix nostalgia, humor, and everyday practicality as they unpack the excitement of owning a new roadster… and the unexpected tax bill that came with it. In true That Don't Sound Right fashion, the story ends with a grounded decision that still gets laughs, head shakes, and “you did what?” reactions today. If you love real stories, good conversation, and the kind of luck that makes you say “that don't sound right”, this episode is a ride worth taking. Connect with us:

Marc Tarpenning is Co-founder of Tesla and a venture partner at Spero Ventures. In 2003, Marc and Martin Eberhard saw two signals: GM killed its beloved EV1, and Californians snapped up Toyota's Prius despite its compromises. They realized the market was ready for an electric car that was better than gas, not worse. Their breakthrough: 7,000 off-the-shelf laptop batteries powering a sports car that outran a Porsche and drove over 200 miles. The Tesla Roadster was born, before Elon Musk joined the company.Marc shares how his time in Saudi Arabia exposed him to oil dependence, how NuvoMedia taught him about the pace of battery improvement, and why a software mindset helped Tesla out-innovate incumbents. Now at Spero Ventures, Marc backs founders building solutions that are both economically compelling and environmentally vital, and explains why, to him, EVs have already won.Episode recorded on Aug 12, 2025 (Published on Sept 9, 2025)In this episode, we cover: [05:58] Marc's experience fixing software projects in Saudi Arabia[07:06] Why TELO's compact electric pickup makes sense[09:09] Marc's Star Trek optimism versus Blade Runner dystopia[10:29] On founding NuvoMedia and the first e-book readers[17:40] Brainstorming EVs after the dot-com collapse[20:25] Prius demand proves customers value efficiency[22:18] Reducing oil dependence as national security[24:46] Roadster powered by 7,000 laptop lithium-ion cells[30:28] The Tesla launch playbook[32:14] Acceleration as the hook for high-end EV buyers[37:20] Early interactions with Elon Musk at SpaceX office[40:11] Lessons from early Roadster builds[43:36] Vertical integration only where it truly differentiates[48:15] Why EVs are inevitable[50:30] Marc's thoughts on Tesla today Enjoyed this episode? When Michelle Denogean joined Roadster as CMO, the company had a great product—but no one knew who they were or why their solution mattered. Digital retailing in the automotive space was still emerging, and skeptical dealerships weren't ready to dive into their innovative model. Eighteen months later, Roadster had grown its sales pipeline 5X, slashed its sales cycle by 25%, and increased branded search volume by 10X. Not only that—it was acquired by the largest tech company in auto retail for $360 million. So, what changed? Michelle led a full-scale strategic rebrand that prioritized education, positioned Roadster as the industry authority, and rebuilt alignment between sales and marketing teams to boost conversion. In today's case study, this six-time CMO (currently at Mindtrip), author of GrowUp!, and now startup advisor reveals how she built a category-defining brand and used customer-led storytelling, non-social media driven influencer strategy, and omnichannel thought leadership to 10X business. If you're trying to disrupt your industry, this is the blueprint. Plus: it turns out that yes, the new Roadster really is back; a slightly different version of Tesla's Robotaxi service launches in my city, and more!
