More 80s! More Movies! More failed TV shows! This week we're looking at some almost classic Sci-Fi films that became short lived TV shows like Starman and Alien Nation. We also discuss The Outsiders and do a head to head comparison between the iconic cast of The Outsiders movie and that of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. We'll also go down the rabbit hole that I call Baby Boom and my feelings toward Diane Keaton. We conclude by discussing the sordid history of the television version of 9 to 5. It's amazing if you're into this sort of thing. A colossal waste of time if you're not.

This is it - the first episode of Richmond Til We Die! Okay, technically it’s the episode before the first episode, but let’s not waste time parsing out the specifics. Richmond Til We Die is a podcast for the people - a conversation where fans of the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso (and curious newcomers) can come together to appreciate this cast of characters who make us laugh until we can hardly breathe one minute and then feel with the deepest parts of our hearts the next.On this episode, Christian, Brett, and Marisa explore the origins of the Ted Lasso sketch comedy character, discuss how they came to find and fall in love with the show, and give the listeners a heads-up on what to look for as they rewatch Episode 1. We hope you’ll join us every two weeks as we examine the relationships between the characters on this show and think about how they challenge us to be better humans.Discussed On This Episode:An American Coach in London: NBC Sports Premier League Film featuring Jason Sudeikis (NBC Sports, 2013)The Return of Coach Lasso: NBC Sports Premier League Film featuring Jason Sudeikis (NBC Sports, 2014)Brené with Jason Sudeikis & Brendan Hunt on Ted Lasso (Unlocking Us, 2021)SNL: 11 Movies You Forgot Were Based On Classic Skits (ScreenRant, 2019)‘Uncle Drew’ and 5 More Movies and TV Shows Based on Commercials (The Wrap, 2018)Follow the show on Twitter.A full transcript of this episode can be found here.

*Reviewing Disney+'s Hamilton & Discussing The Future Of Movie Theaters* In another wonderfully 'host-full' show this week, we have a ton of news to discuss. Tenet is yet again delayed, major theater chains are also pushing back, and so that begs the question, "will we actually see a new theatrical release this year?" We react to new trailers for Pixar's Soul , as well as the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect starring the one and only Jennifer Hudson. Margot Robbie is developing a new Pirates of the Caribbean film with Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson, and for some reason we are getting a reboot of the film Twister. There's a lot to unpack there. Hamilton , the broadway musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda that took the world over, is hitting Disney+ this weekend, and we have some really strong reactions having now seen the film version of the show. You won't want to miss Hamilton, and you won't want to miss our reviews. Finally this week, we celebrate the career of the late Joel Schumacher with #JoelSchumacherBlend. Next week, be sure to play along on social, and send us your pick for your FAVORITE performance from the inimitable Viola Davis using #ViolaDavisBlend *This Week In Movies* * Desperados (Netflix) * Hamilton (Disney+) *6:54* - Weekly Poll: Will Tenet get released in theaters this year? *8:00* - More Movies and Theaters Delay Opening *18:50* - Margot Robbie and Christina Hodson Developing Pirates of the Caribbean Film *25:24* - Twister Reboot *29:40* - Respect Trailer Reactions *41:40* - Pixar's Soul Trailer Reactions *44:04* - This Week In Movies *46:44* - Hamilton Reviews *1:15:05* - #JoelSchumacherBlend *1:26:50* - Listener Review *Follow The Show Here* ReelBlend - @ReelBlend ( https://twitter.com/ReelBlend ) Sean - @Sean_OConnell ( https://twitter.com/Sean_OConnell ) Jake - @JakesTakes ( https://twitter.com/JakesTakes ) Kevin - @KevinMcCarthyTV ( https://twitter.com/KevinMcCarthyTV ) Gabe - @gabeKovacs ( https://twitter.com/gabekovacs ) Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/reelblend/donations
