Ever wondered how you could create a hit game app without the annoyance of ads? Join us for a hilarious brainstorming session where we tackle that conundrum and somehow land on coining an unfortunate term, "HPV," for hybrid YouTube videos and podcasts. We then dive headfirst into the chaotic world of "Hitman: Agent 47," where we dissect everything from implausible survival tactics to convoluted plots, while reminiscing about the golden era of Roger Corman's double-feature films. If you've ever questioned the logic of movie chase scenes or the quality of their dialogue, this one's for you!Next, we take a stab at unraveling the complex web of DNA manipulation and genetic editing, comparing it to everything from Jurassic Park to a romantic comedy. We break down the science and sprinkle in some ethical considerations, making sure to keep it light and accessible. Our discussion doesn't shy away from critiquing the absurdities of action-packed movie moments, from improbable escapes to laughable character developments. You'll find our humorous take on these scenes both entertaining and thought-provoking.To top it all off, we share some nostalgia about iconic comic book characters and tease our upcoming review of "Gemini Man." Plus, a few light-hearted debates on seafood restaurants and the art of cheddar biscuits! Don't miss our closing reminder to like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more engaging (and often comically critical) discussions. Special shoutout to our loyal listeners, Todd and Tom, for sticking with us through the madness. We return to address some of the nerdier and more bizarre aspects of 2016's Assassin's Creed and the game series that it is based on! We explore the idea of epigenetic memory more closely (or as closely as two artsy dudes who know science-minded people possibly can), consider possibilities for other time periods this series could visit, explore the genuinely weird truth of what's going on with the Macguffins in the AC universe, and finally get around to Joe's fix for this movie. We talk about which of our ancestors we would want to see the experiences of, Jack's head nearly explodes, and we manage to also turn this episode into a love letter to the John Wick films. Join us as we try to make this expensive pseudo-art film a little better. What Harlly, Jeaun and Lawson didn't know is that, over the years, their parents had become exhausted, and embarrassed. And they were willing to do anything to ease their burden. So one day, the parents approached a bus driver and made him an offer. With the money collected together, they asked him to do the unthinkable. It almost worked perfectly.ALSO DISCUSSED* The Boys: Season 3 (2022)* Charlie Wilson's War (2007)* Enchanted (2007)* From: Season 1 (2022)* The Golden Compass (2007)* Hitman (2007)* Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)* I Am Legend (2007)* Ms. Marvel (2022)* Juno (2007)* There Will Be Blood (2007)Reach us on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/IDontKnowWhyWe1Read Harlly and Jeaun's Blog at https://onthebrightsidemedia.home.blog/Read Lawson's Blog athttps://exitthroughthecandycounter.wordpress.com/

To mark the recent release of Hitman 3, Harry and Rory look at Agent 47's second cinematic outing, rebooted and reskinned as Rupert Friend. This time, the barcode battler is in pursuit of someone who holds the key to the Agent programme, but so too are a shadowy syndicate who will stop at nothing to unlock the secrets of how to build an army of genetically engineered super soldiers. With gun fights, car chases and exploding helicopters (plus a little bit of stealth), it seems 47 might have finally met his match. But does this sequel provide more bang for your buck? We played a bunch of games together this week. Fall Guys' servers fall apart (but it's gonna be okay.) We fall into the role of 2016's Hitman Agent 47. Who is the Undying King and what does he do, does he die(?) let's find out. Coby is the Pilot in Titanfall 2, and Andrew takes a bath with Geralt in the Witcher 3. We end the episode discussing some recent games news including Halo Infinite's delay, and the battle between Epic and Apple. Let's rock.

We talk about Hitman: Agent 47 (2015 - 8% rotten tomatoes) Get off my petals. Mosquito blitzkrieg. I crushed these petunias and let them in dog water. Hairy AssTurd. Good Lord Bomb pops got gross. Leonardo's eyes are melting. Marduk, Zagmuk! Pieces of you, Pieces of me, whatever. I can gurgle out my neckhole.

On the twentieth episode of Much Review About Nothing, we review Hitman: Agent 47 (2015). Again, we must point out that we haven't seen the movie. That is 100% not a joke. Everything we know about the film comes from the trailer, reviews, articles, and our own biased preconceptions. Listen along as we ponder burning questions like: Why is Hitman a twelve-year-old with a doofy buzzcut? Is this a religious action film designed to bring souls to the lord through gratuitous violence and awesome explosions? Can throwing guns on the ground be a fun, safe activity for the whole family? Thanos Car, Thanos Car, Thanos Car? But most importantly, why is 20th Century Fox using a diabolical look-alike contest to entrap Hitman cosplayers and train them to be Agents 1 through 46?
Agent 47 is back and balder than ever in a 2015 relaunch of the Hitman franchise. Can Homeland actor Rupert Friend make a stronger impression than Timothy Olyphant as the legendary cloned assassin trades bullets with wannabe Wolverine Zachary Quinto? And can new agent Hannah Ware really be 43 times better than the boys if it takes her 43 years to locate sickly bioengineer Ciaran Hinds? Trust Justin, Stuart, and Arnie to protect listeners from head trauma as they navigate another treacherous video game adaptation. Listen now!
Want to know how to pick up women? John Smith knows! Want character development in your movie? It's all here in a new episode of Losing Lives with special guest John Campbell from Panel On Panels!
In this weeks podcast we look at our first (and definately not our last) video game adaption and ask ourselves will there ever be a decent video game film? Our biggest budget and most recent film we have currently reviewed but does that mean better quality?
We start with the original mass-market platformer Super Mario Bros. (1993) and discover that updating kids’ stories for teens and adults doesn’t always work, especially when you’re competing with the summer of Jurassic Park. Then we have Biggles-in-space with the retro-futurism of Wing Commander (1999) including what might be the first example of a major motion picture using flow-mo. We still try to extract the good from it though. Dee risks minor detours with Doom (2005) and Max Payne (2008). The emotional dynamic at the heart of Need For Speed (2014) is more gripping than the supercar races. Last movie this week is Hitman: Agent 47 (2015), a film with no plot, a female MacGuffin and a lot of recycled tropes and yet we like it.Also: Joe starts with cookie mouth. We discuss how not enough problems are solved with plumbing. The origins of post-credits stingers. Our regard for Tchéky Karyo and Jürgen Prochnow gets a shot in the arm. We both fall for Aaron Paul. We’re open to sponsorship from PlayStation and XBox. We play a game of “Coin-Op Cameos”. Joe asks what games should become movies or TV shows. Nerd Fight this week is the Most 80’s Track From A Film.

Two of this week's movies feature humans that have been programmed to be killing machines. Which, if either, is worth seeing? One is called "Hitman: Agent 47," and stars Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto. The other is called "American Ultra," and stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. There's also killing in "Sinister 2," but none of it involves programming humans to be killers. We also have some very special Movie Therapy for Joanna, the producer of WNYC's Longest Shortest Time podcast. And, as always, there's trivia!
LaF is covering three big releases for the August 21 weekend on episode 71. American Ultra starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart is a stoner action comedy that has the government trying to kill their most dangerous and highest agent. This "high" concept film was written by Max Landis, the son of Blues Brothers director John Landis. Also opening, is the video game inspired action movie Hitman: Agent 47. The assassin with a bar code on the back of his neck is teaming up with a mysterious woman to help her find her father and kill lots of people. Lastly, is Sinister 2 the sequel to the 2012 sleep hit horror movie. A mother and her twin sons are trouble when they move into a scary rural house that is trying to kill them. If you go to the movies this week, let LaF know about it. Send in your review by emailing the show at theLaFpodcast@gmail.com, tweeting @theLaFpodcast, or messaging us on Facebook.com/theLaFpodcast. The best comments will get read on a future show.
