BKFC and UFC were over the weekend and I was able to catch most of the fights. I have to admit I was very wrong about Chito beating Sandhagen. Sandhagen completely outclassed Vera and should have won a major decision. MMA scoring makes no sense so it was ruled a split dec. I've said it before and I'll say it a lot tonight. March Matness was in full effect this past weekend with the NCAA Wrestling tournament going down. I'll talk a little about the event and the 2 boilermakers that earned All-American status. UFC and Bellator both had events over the weekend and I was able to catch almost every fight. Both events were solid and had some surprising finishes. It's starting to look like the Bellator fighters might have more skill than their UFC counterparts but they earn considerably less and the Bellator promotion can't compete with how much revenue the UFC brings in. PFL had its yearly championships on Friday, and I was able to catch most of the fights. A couple of the winners were guys the UFC kicked out. I will also be discussing the potential Jake Paul and Andrew Tate fight and what that might look like. Finally, I'll get into the potential Jon Jones return where he might face Francis Ngannou. Bellator and UFC both had events this weekend. We have another Dagestani champ and some monsters on the loose in both organizations. Last night there was a crowning of a new middleweight champ. Somehow he only has 5 professional MMA fights and was able to KO a guy people considered one of the best to do it at 185 since Anderson Silva. This fight highlights the problem with UFC controlling rank and title. How can we be sure these champs are actually any good? Several fight events were going on this weekend, but I could only catch the UFC and BKFC events. The cards were pretty ho-hum overall, with a lot of "fun size" fights. I have a harder time enjoying the fun-size fights than the king-size ones, so maybe I am a little biased on how good the cards were. Let me know your thoughts in the chat. I was camping with the boys this weekend and didn't catch any of the fights. I did make some observations about basic fitness levels while doing a three-mile hike. It was interesting to see how people handled the workload.
