The Dallas Cowboys smoked the Carolina Panthers and suddenly look like they've got a little something going too late. Bryan Broaddus joins us to break it all down. We'll talk about the improved play of the offensive line. How does a team keep getting better and better as they lose more guys to injury? Plus why does the entire team hate Dak Prescott. They once again are getting very limited play at the QB spot but playing awesome defense and able to run the hell out of the ball. Trevon Diggs is done for the year and possibly 2025. Clarence Hill of DLLS Sports told us the Cowboys were unhappy with the way he rehabbed the previous injury, and Micah Parsons didn't like that. Which impending free agents will/can the Cowboys prioritize going in to next year? Big decisions on Osa Odighizuwa, Rico Dowdle, Jourdan Lewis and Chauncey Golston.

Beat writers Calvin Watkins and Michael Gehlken kick off this episode [1:45] with a recap of the debacle in D.C. and what it portends for Monday's playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys' recent weaknesses showed in a big way against the Commanders. Can the Cowboys straighten out their running game or find a starting cornerback opposite Trevon Diggs? Can Dak Prescott curb his interceptions streak? Time is running out. On a positive note, [9:40] the guys explain how the Cowboys are getting healthy at the right time, with the expected returns of Johnathan Hankins and Leighton Vander Esch. Michael says the recent play of Chauncey Golston and Osa Odighizuwa is encouraging. In our featured segment, [19:45] Calvin and Michael interview Babe Laufenberg of the Cowboys Radio Network. Babe, a former Cowboys quarterback himself, says he's not too worried about Prescott's interceptions. To close the episode, [39:42] the crew answers a listener question about Micah Parsons' usage at defensive end vs. linebacker and offers predictions for Monday night.
Dallas safety Malik Hooker had no idea what he was starting with a fumble return for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter against his former team. The 38-yard TD return was part of a 33-point fourth quarter that turned a close game into the Cowboys' 54-19 rout of the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night. It was just the third time in NFL history a team has scored at least that many in the fourth. And it was a little bit personal for Hooker, who also had one of three interceptions of Matt Ryan. Hooker was drafted 15th overall by the Colts in 2017, but didn't get a second contract after four injury-plagued seasons. He signed with Dallas during training camp last year. "It was definitely some extra motivation," Hooker said. "Sorry how it ended and everything, but I just wanted to come out here and prove that I'm still the player I was drafted to be and I feel like I showed that tonight." Dallas led 21-19 entering the fourth when Dak Prescott threw the last of his three touchdown passes. Hooker's scoop-and-score was the first of four fourth-quarter takeaways by Dallas, all of which led to touchdowns. Ryan threw his second and third interceptions and lost a fumble during the nightmare finish for the Colts (4-8-1), who fell to 1/3 under interim coach Jeff Saturday and lost for the sixth time in seven games. Ryan, who threw two touchdown passes, has 18 giveaways this season (13 interceptions, five lost fumbles) to lead the NFL by three over Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen. "It was tough there at the end," said Ryan, who was re-inserted as the starter by Saturday when Indy's former All-Pro center took over as coach. "When you turn the ball over like we did in the fourth ... credit to them." Michael Gallup had two touchdown catches and CeeDee Lamb the other when he rolled over safety Rodney McLeod Jr. and stayed on his feet as the Cowboys remained two games behind NFL-leading Philadelphia in the NFC East. After Gallup's second TD, Hooker scooped up a fumble from tight end Mo Alie-Cox and took off untouched down the right sideline for a 34-19 lead early in the fourth. Rookie cornerback DaRon Bland was next, intercepting Ryan on consecutive possessions to set up pile-it-on touchdown runs from Tony Pollard, a 30-yarder, and Ezekiel Elliott. Ryan's fumble was forced by Osa Odighizuwa, and rookie Sam Williams' TD return on the recovery was overturned on review. Rookie Malik Davis' first career TD on a 23-yarder came three plays later. "That's the football Gods. That's what they say," Hooker said about the bevy of turnovers. Honestly, though, those guys are just after it up front. You watch the game from beginning to end, those guys are dominating up front. They were creating a lot of those takeaways." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/support

Truth or Exaggeration -The Raiders will win AT LEAST 5 of their next 6 games -2022 will be the final season of Matt Ryan's career -Justin Fields' performance against the Vikings was EXACTLY the kind of game he needed and there are signs he may be turning a corner in his development -The NFL's new concussion protocols are too strict -The Panthers should trade Brian Burns and/or D.J. Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa joins Nate Newton and Shannon Gross following training camp practice to discuss what to expect from the defense with another year under DC Dan Quinn and more on Camp'n Out presented by American Airlines.
The Good Morning Football Podcast begins with a look at which players could make the biggest improvement this season. Hosts Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Super Bowl champion Michael Robinson and Will Selva explain why they think players like Trevor Lawrence, CeeDee Lamb, Mac Jones and Jalen Hurts will make the biggest jump. Next, Kyle runs through his top-5 fullbacks of all time and then Peter leads “mixed bag trivia” where he asks questions about the Green Bay Packers all-time leading receiver and the defensive player with the most Super Bowl rings. Later, the GMFB crew is joined by Minnesota Vikings linebacker Janarius Robinson and he talks about his return after missing last season, and then he shares what it's like having Kevin O'Connell as the head coach. The show finishes up being joined by Dallas Cowboys DT Osa Odighizuwa and he talks about his activity on Twitter and then makes a pitch to the fans on why the Cowboys will be good this year. Dallas Cowboys needed to make upgrades. In the Draft, you did see them address the interior defensive line with the pick of Arkansas DT John Ridgeway, who's known for his ability to fill space and stop the run, but he alone won't be able to solve their problem. As of right now, the franchise will enter Training Camp with the usual suspects from last year (Neville Gallimore, Osa Odighizuwa, Trysten Hill, and Quinton Bohanna). But with Bleacher Report writer Ian Wharton suggesting Hill as a player the Cowboys could cut this offseason, there could be an urgency to add bodies. To help offset the possible cut, I wanted to discuss if DT Ndamukong Suh could be an option. Although he's on the older side, Suh has shown every year he can be available health-wise and after last season also proved he still has juice left in the tank. Going off his stats last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Suh collected six sacks, 13 QB hits, 27 tackles, seven TFL (tackles for loss), and one fumble recovery. Comparing those stats to the Cowboys DTs, he would have ranked 1st in almost all categories except for total tackles, as he would have been 3rd. Adding Suh would finally give the club a true run-stopper that they have lacked for a few seasons. Additionally, he brings a Super Bowl-winning mentality and toughness that the Cowboys desperately need. -Rocky Garza Jr | https://insidethestar.com/should-the-cowboys-chase-after-dt-ndamukong-suh/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/support

Welcome to the Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with CowboysSI.com. The score might not reflect it due to two late, soft Panthers touchdowns, but the Cowboys defense dominated in Sunday's game, to the tune of two Trevon Diggs interceptions, and five sacks of Carolina quarterback Sam Darnold. The five sacks are significant because Darnold set the tone early in the game by running for two touchdowns. The five sacks for the Cowboys is something that a year ago might seem ridiculous. But this is not the 2020 defense that fans were so embarrassed of last season. The much-anticipated return of defensive end Randy Gregory has been anything but disappointing, and on Sunday he recorded two sacks. Tarell Basham and Micah Parsons each chipped in with one, and Chauncy Golston and Osa Odighizuwa combined for another. This looks like the making of what could be a championship defense, as it seems to get stronger each week. Diggs was one pick short of the Cowboys single-game interception record of three but is on pace to tie or break the Cowboys single-season record for interceptions, set by Everson Walls in 1981 with 11. Diggs' absence from the game for the final Carolina drives was curious, with the on-air explanation of “player management”, concerns of an injury were raised. After the game, a tight back was given as the reason for his absence, with no lingering effects expected. What does the rest of 2021 hold for this defense? Well, we didn't even get into what Micah Parsons has done, because there's enough there for its own written work. Welcome to the Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with CowboysSI.com. Dallas had 11 draft picks in camp joined by another 13 undrafted free agents. Clearly the Cowboys are looking anywhere they can for the next contributor on this club. Now with two preseason games in the books, the Cowboys should have a better understanding of where these 24 rookies are in their development, and who needs to go. The Cowboys have already made a few cuts, so some are already gone. But for those still here, much work is needed to be done if they expect to make the 53-man roster. From the Cowboys number one overall pick to the last man brought into camp, let's grade each rookie after two preseason games. Does this preclude them from drafting a QB at the eighth pick? How about a CB like Patrick Surtain or Jaycee Horn? What the hosts' thoughts on the moves? Is there an answer to the question of who lines up next to Derrick Brown in the 2021 draft? Where do big boys like Levi Onwuzurike, Cam Sample, Daviyon Bixon and Christian Barmore fit into the draft?
