December 31, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 71 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the latest news concerning Pittsburgh Steelers as they start preparing for their Week 18 home game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers have made a few practice squad moves so far this week so we go over those transactions and what they might mean for a few players looking to return this week from injuries such as CB Brandin Echols (groin) and CB James Pierre (calf). Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and as usual, Alex and I parse all of the notable things that he had to say to the media. We discuss his comments on the health of the team heading into Week 18. We go over TE Darnell Washington (arm) being ruled out for this week and the possibility of him being placed on the Reserve/Injured list before Sunday's kickoff. We also discuss what Tomlin had to say about the possible return this week from injuries of OLB T.J. Watt (lung), G Isaac Seumalo, and WR Calvin Austin III (hamstring). Tomlin talked about the limited usage of WR Roman Wilson in Week 17, so we discuss his answer on that topic. We also talk about what Tomlin had to say about the usage of TE Pat Freiermuth and TE Jonnu Smith, both in Week 17 and moving forward into the regular season finale against the Ravens. Former Steelers WR Hines Ward once again failed to be named a Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists this past week, so Alex and I discuss that news. We go over what might be needed moving forward to at least see Ward named a finalist in the coming years. Alex and I begin our weekly recap of the All-22 tape of the Steelers' last game, the Sunday afternoon road win against the Cleveland Browns. We start on the offensive side of the football and spend a lot of time discussing the play of several individual players. We review, in detail, the play of QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling against the Browns. We also make sure to focus tighter on the final three offensive possessions the Steelers had against Cleveland. After thoroughly discussing the offensive tape from Week 17, Alex and I then do the same when it comes to the defensive side of the football. We discuss the Steelers defense having a good game overall after a shaky start in the contest, which resulted in the Browns jumping out to a 10-0 lead. We go over a few missed plays on defense and how that unit ultimately did enough to help the team win in Cleveland. This 112-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The regular season refuses to go quietly, so here we are—Week 18. We open with coaching and personnel headlines, including Kyle Whittingham's latest chapter, Chip Kelly landing another offensive coordinator gig at Northwestern, and a spirited debate over Pro Football Hall of Fame nominees (with a few backups ready just in case). From there, Derek makes the case that Trevor Lawrence has finally arrived, while Caleb questions whether this final week actually serves a purpose—or if we're all just killing time before the playoffs. We hit the lone preseason over/under left standing, spotlight Ravens–Steelers as the Game of the Week, and break down X-factors in a rivalry that never needs extra motivation. As always, Brodie Bets wrap things up with bowl season bleeding into NFL chaos, a clean slate on the season record, and one last batch of picks before everything really starts to matter. Week 18 may feel optional—but the takes certainly aren't.Theme music by The Riley Brothers Band. Find them at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/therileybrothersband/the-float.
The Dallas County Republican Party abandoned plans Tuesday to hand-count tens of thousands of ballots on primary day, March 3, saying it could not recruit enough workers to carry out the manual tally. In this episode of THE MENTORS RADIO, Host Dan Hesse talks with Jerome Bettis (also known as “The Bus”), who is a Hall of Fame running back and Walter Peyton NFL Man of the Year. Jerome describes how he “broke the cycle” of shunning rookies in the locker room and instead focused on encouraging and mentoring them. He also talks about how the generosity of one pro football player he met as a kid drove him to develop the habit of giving a “hand up” to those in need; a habit that he knows he will continue for the rest of his life. “The Bus” is also the title of Jerome's bestselling autobiography, which tells the story of Bettis' rise from a Detroit ghetto to an illustrious collegiate and professional football career.
