The Rams' season is over. They have no one to blame but themselves. Their special teams' unit was terrible. Their defense couldn't make a play. Matthew Stafford was nearly perfect, but it just wasn't enough in the end for the Rams to make a Super Bowl run. This season will always be remembered as a "what if". And it will always be a really tough loss to swallow. But there's hope that the Rams will return to this form next year. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Ryan Anderson and Erin Coscarelli LIVE immediately after the NFC Championship Game as the Rams' 2025 season ended one step short of the Super Bowl with a 31–27 loss to Seattle in the NFC Championship at Lumen Field, despite piling up 875 combined yards in a back-and-forth shootout. Matthew Stafford threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns, with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams delivering big moments, but defensive lapses and special teams miscues loomed large. LA had one final chance, needing to go 93 yards in 25 seconds with no timeouts, but comeback came up just short. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for this weekend. Munaf Manji opened the Friday, January 23rd episode of Cash That Ticket on RJ Bell's Dream Preview by setting the stage for a packed betting discussion heading into the weekend, with Championship Sunday, NFL coaching news, NBA analysis, promotions, and best bets all on the agenda. Dave Essler joined him still frustrated from the previous night's loss tied to Franz Wagner being ruled out late, which caused a sharp line move and turned what looked like a favorable position into a loss from the opening tip. Munaf revisited that game, noting how Charlotte's strong record on the second leg of back to backs was mentioned but ultimately ignored, a decision both agreed was a learning moment. Dave emphasized that no bettor hits one hundred percent and that losses must be studied rather than dismissed. The conversation shifted to NFL news with Munaf breaking down the Baltimore Ravens hiring Jesse Minter as head coach on a five year deal, highlighting his defensive success with the Chargers and his prior time in Baltimore. Dave admitted surprise that the Ravens went defense first, stressing that the offense, particularly Lamar Jackson's durability and passing limitations, remains the bigger question and will hinge on the offensive coordinator hire. Early Ravens win total speculation followed, with ten and a half discussed before schedule context softened some concerns. Attention then turned to Patriots versus Broncos props, where Munaf floated Jared Stidham over 32.5 pass attempts, reasoning New England would force him to throw. Dave countered with Drake May unders if backing the Patriots and strongly endorsed Pat Bryant over 2.5 receptions despite heavy juice, citing Denver's likely pass heavy script and Bryant's role before his prior concussion. Injury notes on Troy Franklin reinforced value on secondary Denver receivers, with both hosts recalling how Bryant's early catches last week were erased by injury. For the NFC matchup, Munaf backed Sam Darnold to throw an interception based on repeated struggles against the Rams and defensive familiarity. Dave added Matthew Stafford under 36.5 yards for longest completion, pointing to Seattle's recent success eliminating explosive plays, while also discussing long shot props like Davante Adams to lead receiving yards. Munaf countered with Stafford passing yard trends in Seattle and suggested live betting opportunities if the Rams trailed, along with Cooper Kupp over 30.5 yards. The show moved into NBA, starting with Rockets versus Pistons, where Munaf highlighted Houston's poor performance on road back to backs, recent defensive collapses, and Detroit's elite defensive rating of 100.1 over the last ten games. Cade Cunningham's status was key, with value tied directly to his availability. Dave warned about rapid line movement tied to injury news and leaned toward Pistons team total overs or split half strategies. Raptors versus Blazers followed, with both noting improved defenses, Portland's back to back trends, and a shared preference for the under. Best bets closed the episode with Dave backing Rutgers as a home underdog against Indiana, citing matchup and motivation, while Munaf laid points with the Phoenix Suns based on their league best ATS record and defensive form, and added Celtics team total over 112.5 against a struggling Nets defense. The episode ended with updated news of Cade Cunningham participating in shootaround, reinforcing earlier Pistons angles, and reminders about discipline, injury monitoring, and adaptability heading into the weekend slate. The Rams are set to face the Seahawks for the 3rd time this season in a divisional NFC Championship showdown. If you're a fan of football in any capacity, this is the game you've been asking for. It's about as close as it can be, statistically over the last few years. But the Rams have 2 very important differentiators at head coach and quarterback, as well as the experience with this grouping to get the job done. You don't come this far just to lose in Seattle. Did Sean McVay just take a veiled shot at Seahawks QB Sam Darnold??! Matthew Stafford is a finalist for MVP but how likely is it that Drake Maye will beat him out? Kappy asks Trudell, how important is Davante Adams to the Rams on Sunday - especially considering he's 0-4 in NFC Championship games. Learn more about your ad choices. In the second hour, Matt Spiegel and Laurence Holmes were joined by Bears great Matt Forte to share what it was like to be an honorary captain for the team's game against the Rams on Sunday in the divisional round. He also explained what the vibe was like and how the Bears' culture was easy to notice. After that, Spiegel and Holmes discussed the latest developments in the NFL coaching carousel. Later, they listened to an interesting comment that NFL Films captured from Rams receiver Davante Adams to Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
Championship Sunday is here, and somehow the NFL still found time to spin the coaching carousel at full speed. We start with the latest moves around the league, including John Harbaugh heading to New York, Kevin Stefanski landing in Atlanta, Jeff Hafley taking over in Miami, and Robert Saleh getting another shot in Tennessee. We also react to Matt LaFleur's extension in Green Bay, Buffalo pulling the plug on Sean McDermott, and Mike McDaniel resurfacing as the Chargers' offensive coordinator. From there, Derek explains why the NFL coaching market is starting to look a lot like the college transfer portal, while Caleb makes the case that the single playoff bye might be the most important advantage in all of pro sports. Then it's all about Mike vs. Sean Week. We preview both championship matchups—Patriots at Broncos and Rams at Seahawks—breaking down the key storylines, matchup edges, and X-factors that could decide who punches a ticket to the Super Bowl. Riley Moss, RJ Harvey, Grey Zabel, and Davante Adams all get the spotlight as the margins get thinner and the stakes get heavier. We close things out with Brodie Bets, recapping last week's results and locking in our picks for the biggest weekend of the season. - GENE STERATORE (CBS Rules Analyst) - Last night's National Championship was consistent as far as PI calls, but there were some big missed hits on Fernando Mendoza and Miami got lucky they didn't get called for targeting. - Ok, what is and what isn't an interception- yes, we are looking at the Bills/Broncos and Rams/Bears games… did the refs get these two similar plays correct? :30- EVERETT FITZHUGH (Kraken Audio Network PxP) The Kraken have struggled as of late after they seemingly had everything working, so what's going wrong this time? It's the first time in 45 games that the kraken have everyone back in the lineup, is that making things even more difficult? Why have Daccord and Grubauer struggled? :45- Cooper Kupp will face his former team for the 3rd time this season; does the former Ram have any more Sean McVay tricks up his sleeve? The Rams are preparing to travel to Chicago in frigid temperatures. It's no secret, it's going to be freezing cold. And Matthew Stafford has a sprained right index finger. There's a reason for many to doubt the Rams - especially those who watched the Panthers game. This team should be ready: they have a chance to get back to the NFC Championship and have seemingly avoided the "emotional" game that the Bears and now Seahawks and 49ers have and had to play. The road to the Super Bowl gets clearer by the day, and if the Rams can play a full 60 minutes: they'll have a chance to contend for the division next weekend. The guys dive into the “LOL Jets” stigma, Davante Adams' unnecessary shade, and whether the franchise is miles behind the rest of the AFC. Plus, a spirited debate on whether fans can (or should) ever abandon their team, stories about long playoff droughts, and why winning after decades of pain just hits different.
The Rams survived in Carolina this weekend and are now set to play the Chicago Bears in the Divisional Round this upcoming weekend. An insane few days of football across the board and now 3 of 4 NFC West teams are still alive in the NFC. Miami in the National Championship? You gotta be shittin' me! In the College Football Playoff, No. 1 Indiana brings a +18 turnover margin to a Peach Bowl rematch against Oregon, where Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza aims to keep the Ducks' red-zone woes frozen. Meanwhile, the Fiesta Bowl pits an Ole Miss offense, faster than Lane Kiffin's moving truck, against a Miami pass rush that hits harder than a student loan payment. Whether the Hurricanes can crack the "Chambliss Code" remains the big question, especially with the Rebels' coaching staff currently in a state of musical chairs. In the NFL, the Rams hope Davante Adams' return prevents another Week 13 "trap" against a Bryce Young-led Panthers squad that's suddenly full of "contagious aura." The Bears and Packers face off in a "rubber match" with bragging rights so ancient they predate WWIl. The Rams are in a weird spot. If Seattle wins, the Rams own the 5th seed and would go play the winner of the NFC South (Panthers or Buccaneers). If the 49ers win, the Rams would fall to the 6th seed and would have to travel to Chicago or Philadelphia for the first round of the playoffs. REGARDLESS of what happens, Sean McVay decided that he wants to play the starters. Because this team needs it more than they ever have, and if they want to win it all, they need to start gelling again. Reinforcements are on their way, and the truth is: absolutely no one wants to see the Rams in the playoffs when they're fully healthy. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
