As we recently passed another trip around the sun to celebrate the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day, it got us thinking: What can we do in the restaurant industry to help the efforts now, and in the future, considering this years’ theme of “Restore Our Earth.” Pre-Covid, sustainability efforts were beginning to creep up onto every restaurant owner’s radar as a major consideration; however, when owners were forced to shut down and let go of countless staff members, that spot on the radar faded into the distance and everything became strictly about survival. During this week’s Tip Share, RASI New Business Strategist, Dave Downs, sits down with the RASI Purchasing Department, and honored guests, Jake Handy with P&R Paper, and long-time RASI Client, Shawn Walchef, and Eric Olafsen of Cali Comfort BBQ out in San Diego. Tune in to listen to the conversation about how restaurant owners can have a major world impact and start the snowball effect of others going green - for the future of our planet, our kids, and ultimately our corporate social responsibility as an industry. Earth Day is celebrated all over the world on 22 April 2020. This day is founded by American Senator Gaylard Nelson. Gaylard Nelson, first, drew America's attention to the environmental side effects caused by American industrial development. Earth Day aims to “build the world's largest environmental movement to drive transformative change for people and the planet.” The movement's mission is “to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.” The year 2021 marks Earth Day's 51st anniversary. Each year, this day is assigned a different theme or area of focus; this year's theme is “Restore Our Earth.”Every country on this planet at some point was under lockdown for many months, and nature found a way to let Earth regain its lost wealth, during this period. No one was sure that there would be a day when they would see, at least in this lifetime, nature recovering after a fallow due to excessive pollution. But the lockdown had turned the tables. Not just the skyline became clearer with each passing day, the rivers were visibly purer, and the once-endangered flora and fauna came back to life.Twitter: https://twitter.com/realyashnegiWebsite: climatology.inEmail: yashnegi@climatology.inSong: Ikson - New Day (Vlog No Copyright Music)Support the show (https://paypal.me/yashnegi27?locale.x=en_GB)

Happy Earth Day Savvy Beauties! Do you want to go green and live a more eco friendly lifestyle but find it a bit overwhelming and wonder where to start? Or maybe you're in your eco groove but would like to do more. The theme for Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth. In celebration of this day honoring our beautiful planet, I'm sharing some easy actionable tips to help you go green and do your part in restoring our earth without overhauling and changing too much of your lifestyle. If you are concerned about climate change, make some eco friendly changes in your own home. What’s going on in your home affects the earth. It starts with you. Earth Day is every day. On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans held demonstrations across the country rallying for a healthy, sustainable environment. We still face many of the same environmental issues as we did on that first Earth Day when founder, Gaylord Nelson, a Wisconsin Senator at the time, was inspired to make a difference after the devastation of the 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, a beautiful coastal town here in Southern California not too far from where I grew up and where I now live. Connect with your inner flower child and take action by implementing the tips that resonate with you. Every eco step you take is another step to a healthier environment. These tips also help your health immensely because many things we do for our planet also reduce your toxic load. The EPA ranks indoor air pollution as one of the top 5 environmental health risks.
