In observance of World Obesity Day and World Kidney Day, the Gros-Islet Primary School engaged residents of Gros-Islet by walking throughout the village carrying colorful placards with messages about making healthier lifestyle choices. This activity provided students and teachers with the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition, physical activity and the preventive health practices to reduce the risk of obesity and kidney disease. A health fair was also held on the school grounds where students received talks on healthy eating, protecting kidney health and information on the abuse of alcohol and substances.

Saint Lucia joins the global community in observing World Water Day 2026, a United Nations initiative which is observed annually on March 22nd to highlight the importance of safe water and advocate for the sustainable management of water resources. The global theme for this year's observance is “Water and Gender,” which explores how water and sanitation challenges affect women and girls. It also calls for women having a voice and leading when it comes to water management and decision making.

As part of activities marking World Obesity Day and World Kidney Day 2026, students from the Laborie Boys and Laborie Girls Primary Schools joined forces for an interactive health walk through the streets of Laborie. Armed with placards and chants, the young health ambassadors brought messages on healthy eating and lifestyle directly to residents and businesses in the village. The walk was held under the theme "Twòp Sik Pa Bon" , a rallying call for the reduction of sugar-sweetened beverages and unhealthy dietary habits. As the students moved through the village, they chanted health messages and engaged with community members and business owners along the route.

A push to improve productivity and competitiveness among local businesses is gaining momentum in Saint Lucia. World Oral Health Day is observed on March 20th under the theme, "A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life." This day calls for placing focus on raising awareness of issues around oral health and importance of oral hygiene.

A delegation from the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) paid a visit to Saint Lucia to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Health, non-governmental organisations, public health practitioners and other key stakeholders to review the plan for accelerating the elimination of cervical cancer as a public health concern. The session provided an opportunity to discuss and assess the progress Saint Lucia has made in the areas of HPV vaccination, cervical cancer prevention, screening and treatment. The review of the plan will allow for the identification of gaps and strengthening of the systems to limit the impact of cervical cancer to the population The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) has committed to providing support to Saint Lucia in the areas of building capacity of professionals and provision of equipment and supplies, to name a few.



On March 12, 2026, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), through its Digital Capacity Building Project, donated four smart boards to the Training Division within the Ministry of the Public Service. The donation forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital learning and improve the training of public officers. Speaking at the handover, H.E. Nicole Su, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), highlighted the importance of technology in strengthening training and capacity building.

The event brought together regulators, local businesses, and consumers to promote product safety, responsible business practices, and informed consumer decision-making in the marketplace. Residents of Dennery and surrounding communities now have renewed access to essential oral healthcare. The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition has formally reestablished dental services at the newly reopened La Ressource Wellness Centre, making care available to both children and adults in the Dennery Valley. The move is part of the Ministry's deliberate push to decentralise healthcare bringing services directly to the communities that need them most, rather than requiring residents to travel further afield for treatment.
