The medication PrEP is a highly effective medication which is used to prevent HIV transmission.

The workshop was aimed at building the capacity of participants to plan, evaluate and implement risk communication strategies before and during a disaster or public health emergency. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be better able to utilize the tools and strategies to influence health-related behaviors and improve health outcomes.

Saint Lucia is leading the charge in reshaping primary education across the region. With the launch of a new OECS-wide curriculum, teachers are being trained to deliver lessons that reflect modern standards, regional identity, and real-world skills.
The Government of Saint Lucia through funding from the Health System Strengthening Project and the OECS Regional Health Project has committed to undertaking significant infrastructural developments at various health facilities around the island. This initiative is expected to play a part in modernizing the primary health care system and also improve the delivery of health services to the public. Some of the infrastructural improvements include rehabilitative works on the Fond Assau, Vanard, Babonneau, La Fargue and Richfond Wellness Centres. In the coming months, rehabilitative works are expected on the Mon Repos Wellness Centre and Dennery Hospital. The Ministry of Health is still committed to redevelopment plans for the Ciceron and La Croix Maingot Wellness Centres.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs through the support of the Health System Strengthening Project (HSSP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) made a donation of biomedical equipment to the Millennium Heights Medical Complex which is expected to enhance patient care at the hospital. The biomedical equipment donated included ECG machines, nebulizers, suction machines, defibrillators and ICU patient monitors to name a few.

In a small handover ceremony, the Republic of China (Taiwan) donated mobility and support equipment to assist persons with disabilities. The equipment is expected to enhance the daily lives of individuals in terms of mobility. The donation included wheelchairs, commode chairs, walkers and aluminum canes. The donation of the mobility and support equipment was well received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Crime Prevention and Persons with Disabilities and the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment.
