From April 29, 2025 to May 16, 2025, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition conducted a Schistosomiasis (Bilharzia) Survey among children aged 8–11 years in Primary Schools across Saint Lucia. The students were randomly selected to participate in the survey, which involved a simple finger-prick blood test conducted by trained health professionals. The Ministry of Health reports that all samples tested during the survey were negative for bilharzia.
