For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.gaudete, et exsultate, quoniam merces vestra copiosa est in caelis. 1 I am the true vine; and my Father is the husbandman.Ego sum vitis vera, et Pater meus agricola est. 2 Every branch in me, that beareth not fruit, he will take away: and every one that beareth fruit, he will purge it, that it may bring forth more fruit.Omnem palmitem in me non ferentem fructum, tollet eum, et omnem qui fert fructum, purgabit eum, ut fructum plus afferat. 3 Now you are clean by reason of the word, which I have spoken to you.Jam vos mundi estis propter sermonem quem locutus sum vobis. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me.Manete in me, et ego in vobis. Sicut palmes non potest fere fructum a semetipso, nisi manserit in vite, sic nec vos, nisi in me manseritis. 5 I am the vine: you the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.Ego sum vitis, vos palmites : qui manet in me, et ego in eo, hic fert fructum multum, quia sine me nihil potestis facere. 6 If any one abide not in me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up, and cast him into the fire, and he burneth.Si quis in me non manserit, mittetur foras sicut palmes, et arescet, et colligent eum, et in ignem mittent, et ardet. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you will, and it shall be done unto you.Si manseritis in me, et verba mea in vobis manserint, quodcumque volueritis petetis, et fiet vobis. After a stormy youth, Boniface was converted to the Catholic faith, suffered numerous tortures and was beheaded A.D. 307.

St. Winebald's story is the final of the 6 saints from an English family who lived in the 700's. He was the son of St Wuna and St Richard of Wessex. And the nephew of St Boniface. He was the older brother to St. Willibald and sister St Valpurga. St Winebald studied to become a monk while in Rome and returned to England to recruit others back to Rome to dedicate their lives to God. But he eventually also became a priest and found himself in Germania helping his uncle St. Boniface, brother and sister with their missions there. Richard of Wessex & Wuna are a husband and wife who became saints. They fared from Wessex, England and lived in the 700s. The story of St Wuna's brother, St Boniface appeared in last weeks podcast Episode 444 Saint Wuna died young, but not before she and Saint Richard, also known as 'The Pilgrim' had four children. Three who also became saints and will appear in future episodes of 'Constant Procession.' St Wuna died shortly after the birth of her daughter St Valpurga. It is clear this blessed couple chose to live using the model of Jesus Christ. Thinking and working to make the world a 'Better Place." We have a full lineup of longtime friends of the show to talk about new and exciting things happening in the PA beer world. From Pour Man's Brewing and now Saint Boniface Craft Brewing too are Ryan Foltz, Sam Son, and James Stauffer. After some unfortunate events that don't warrant recounting here, the future of St. Boniface was in serious doubt. Which was a real shame considering the amazing quality of beers they had always produced. But no more! The St. Boniface brand is back and better than ever with the crew behind the wildly successful Pour Man's at the helm, here all about that and future plans in this episode. Plus! Podcast pal and patron Brian Mills sits in to talk about more new beer news – he's taken over the old Pour Man's space to launch his own brewery, Inspiration Brewing. If you've ever met Brian, or tried his beer, you know this is something to get jazzed about. We also played Libation or Fabrication makes a left turn at Albuquerque again in Happy Fun Time. Boniface lived a remarkable life (accomplishing much for the gospel) and died a triumphant martyr's death. It would fall to later generations to convert the heathen peoples of Germany, but the memory of Boniface inspired those efforts. We might say his principal work was reformation and revitalization. He was constantly enmeshed in organizational questions and issues of power-politics. Nevertheless, Boniface bore witness to Christ wherever he could—even at the cost of his life.In the end, for as much as Boniface is chiefly remembered for his axe, it was the many decades of sharing the gospel, discipling Christians, building monasteries and bishoprics, cultivating personal holiness, navigating conflict, and keeping his hand to the plow that made Boniface successful. That is the option Boniface chose for his life and ministry, and that is the option open to all of us.

The SSPX Podcast is produced by Angelus Press, which has as its mission the fortification of traditional Catholics so that they can defend the Faith, and reaching out to those who have not yet found Tradition. What is the SSPX? The main goal of the Society of Saint Pius X is to preserve the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity, to teach its truths, and to diffuse its virtues, especially through the Roman Catholic priesthood. Authentic spiritual life, the sacraments, and the traditional liturgy are its primary means of bringing this life of grace to souls. Although the traditional Latin Mass is the most visible and public expression of the work of the Society, we are committed to defending Catholic Tradition in its entirety: all of Catholic doctrine and morals as the Church has always defended them. What people need is the Catholic Faith, without compromise, with all the truth and beauty which accompanies it. https://sspx.org

In Episode 46, you'll hear about the Louis Riel School Division By-Election to fill a Trustee seat in Ward 1 on June 6th. School board elections have long been used as a farm club for the Manitoba NDP- and with no spending or donation rules it's a wild-west environment for unions and other radical groups to seize a lever of political power. After the LRSD Board forced Francine Champagne to resign, 5 residents have filed nomination papers. Unlike Winnipeg's MSM, we explain the far-left lens used to determine that she failed the ideological purity test demanded by the other trustees. As the Black Rod reported, LRSD has adopted the teachings of a Brazilian educator celebrated by Marxists. Paulo Friere's foundational belief was students must liberate themselves and become social justice warriors: “All education is political; teaching is never a neutral act”. The disastrous effect on math education in Manitoba was explained in our last podcast. Check out the top episodes, make a donation towards our costs, and help our public affairs coverage Spring into Summer LRSD is at the forefront of indoctrinating employees and students with "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism" mandates. After all, who's against anti-racism and inclusion? Parents represented by Francine Champagne believe that children should be allowed, for instance, to mature at their own pace and to grow up and form healthy adult relationships- and she said so. To 'Woke educators' this is hate speech. Now those parents and the rest of the electorate have to pick a replacement for Champagne. Marty briefly discusses 4 of those candidates- and then interviews the fifth. 20:11 Part 2- Sandra Saint-Cyr describes moving to Winnipeg as a teen and an education career that spanned the UK, Sweden, Norway and Manitoba- which included an FN-run school and then 3 schools within LRSD. Married to a retired policeman and mother to 4 children, she tells how "My focus has always been centralized on the learner and the family behind the learner." She states the Division has been excelling in literacy programming, going back to the basics after 'whole language' curriculum proved a failure. 29.00- Saint-Cyr believes "Parents make good parents but large, multilayered governmental organizations never make good parents.” At the door, voters tell her they "want to be informed and to have a voice,“ but aren't sure how. She notes the protocols for "LRSD Policy AC - Respect for Human Diversity," are not widely known about by teachers, let alone parents. That policy is cited to justify keeping parents in the dark about their kids experimenting with gender identity. "If we're withholding critical information about a child's development from the parent... we have systems and supports in place (like clinical support). Those systems work very well and at no point prior to this have I experienced when the parent wouldn't be fully informed." Comments, news tips, public speaking and hosting martygoldlive@gmail.com 38:22 Part 3- A Free Press report claimed “they are elected to represent the perspective of their constituents," but when Champagne did that, she was labeled a bigot who "fell out of line". Marty asks Saint-Cyr about the lack of ideological diversity on the LRSD Board. Citing a 2017 provincial rule, she says "our only option is to affirm" a student's gender spectrum self-ID. 50.00- "A teacher's being asked to diagnose and support a decision we have no expertise to do... It's critical that parents are part of every decision we make for students." But with numerous countries now backing off transitioning underage youth, "parental consent is at the heart of the issue. We need to involve the family." Saint-Cyr shares concerns of some parents about sexualized library content. "That is an area that needs attention and I believe change," which will depend on parents stepping forward at Board meetings to bring questions forward. ( For more info: vote4Sandra@gmail.com )
A classic 3 segment TGCTS Podcast is set for your Easter weekend listening! Part 1 - We open Episode 31 with your comments about Nahanni Fontaine's March Madness- and we add a few more issues we didn't mention yet, to the storm of controversy around her and her department. When the NDP froze foster care per diems in 2012, did Fontaine ever tell Greg Selinger it was harming indigenous kids? Of course not, that might have resulted in losing her plum position as "Aboriginal Women's Advisor." And she'd never have gotten the NDP nomination in St. John's. 18:50 Part 2- A brief explanation of the very negative consequences of the NDP regressing to a 1-1 ratio for trades apprentice supervision. Marty Gold explains what will result: less trainees, less trainers, less training, less homebuilding, more costs to you. The NDP-supporting union is happy with that. 24.00- Happyland Park Pool supporters aren't giving up- but a letter to Mayor Gillingham and city council shows how far trust in City Hall has fallen in the neighbourhood. What will Matt Allard do to help their last-ditch fundraising, and to prevent the City from arbitrarily bulldozing the pool while they try to save it? And speaking of St Boniface, Mrs. Mike's on Tache wants to resume operations and was told it could take up to TWO MONTHS for an Occupancy Permit. Maybe Allard doesn't eat burgers, but thousands of Winnipeggers do. We've asked Allard to get things speeded up and not let St. B be treated like the North End of the South End, yet again. 34.00 Newsmaker of the Year Andrew Marquess doesn't trust City Hall either, and why should he? City planners have invented yet another obstacle to approval of his Fulton Grove housing plan- and of all things, Coun. John Orlikow is empaneled to decide on it. 39:55 Part 3 - Crime Courts and Public Safety Update - A Rally for Justice took place last week, and while the Free Press slanted their coverage to fit their narrative, we will be having organizer Mike Vogiatzakis on the podcast in the next few weeks to talk about his cause seeking to abolish catch-and-release policing. - Two business stories: one a move and expansion, the other of business misadventure forcing a sale, with one thing in common- crime is badly affecting their sectors. It's Brian Bowman's legacy, that never gets pinned on him like it should. - 49.35- Councilor Janice Lukes still hasn't responded to our request for an interview but took a moment to compliment the police for handing out speeding tickets on the South Perimeter highway. That's never been done before by city cops because it's a provincial road handled by the RCMP. Predatory speed traps aren't legitimized just because drivers are duped into thinking the ticket was legal- and it's another reason why no one trusts City Councilors to have their backs. Considering the last spate of tickets near there handed out by cops were dropped by the Crown as illegal - as the Designated Construction Zone didn't include the area they were enforcing the extra-penalty citations - we suggest Lukes makes sure these pass the sniff test before handing out the flowers. The wholesale destruction of the Archwood and Dufresne neighborhoods in St Boniface - the small residential communities north and south of Happyland Park - by a proposed Marion Freeway was averted in 2015/16. So instead, city bureaucrats have resorted to a new tactic - incremental erosion of the area through budget cuts, even while the City trumpets the massive infill development at the Canada Packers site across Archibald. In Episode 29 you'll hear about the devastating and cruel decision to demolish the outdoor pool at Happyland Park, despite support for the neighborhood from the Manitoba Metis Federation and the infill project leader. Marty Gold tells about the pleas of residents, who even offered to raise the $82,000 cost to keep the pool open. The concept of a new aquatic centre near Provencher Blvd. far from Happyland Park means one thing - no relief in the summer for the poor and working class losing their pool, because it will require paying to get in. As a councilor wrote, "The Mayor has provided each of the fifteen councillors with a piece of his approximately 1.27% operating property tax increase, but it is chump change if one wants to provide children with pleasurable experiences." We put the failure of St. Boniface Councilor Matt Allard to save the pool under the microscope. Under his watch, and his extremist focus on "climate change" and bike lanes instead of real issues affecting residents and businesses, the Marion-Goulet corridor continues to decline into becoming the North End of the South End. City Council chose to undermine the biggest reason families use Happyland Park. It appears to be part of a larger plan to kill the park, and force out the working class and seniors- and as one resident told us it's “Creating a city people aren't going to want to stay in.” This work is entirely funded by YOUR support. Check out our redesigned Donate page - it's easier than ever to help us continue to serve the public. 27:33 Part 2 - We review the fiery comments from Transcona Coun. Russ Wyatt after Wednesday's vote, where he decried "a mean-spirited budget, with attacks on working families and their neighborhoods." "Had we not made the investment in Transcona by building the Transcona Aquatic Park, they would have tried to close that former old outdoor pool too, but now it's just too popular thanks to the reinvestment." Hearkening to a prior era when "we had at City Hall strong City Councilors", Wyatt also took a shot at the current crop including Allard: "Former Councillors would have stood up and fought for their communities, instead of the group we have today who rolled over today in the face of the cuts being made in the budget and to their communities." We also have some insight from Mynarski Coun. Ross Eadie about the trade-offs councilors have to make with pools, splash pads, and being outside of the controlling bloc at council. Episode 29 concludes with interesting feedback to our analysis of Wab Kinew's Gaza Gambit, and a renewed push for our fundraising drive as we pass the halfway point. $1800 is still needed to meet our costs. Marty Gold is committed to investigating and reporting on the serious concerns in our neighborhoods, bringing the stories MSM can't or won't forward to ActionLine.ca and forcing those issues onto the civic and provincial political agenda. In that way, we earn your support. To send story tips, comments, and contribute support via Interac- Email martygoldlive@gmail.com

Theodore Brun seemed to have everything. A high level, high earning job as a Paris based lawyer, a group of interesting friends and activities, a French fiancé, and yet he knew he wasn't really happy. Something was missing. Known as the "Apostle to Germany," the bishop and martyr St. Boniface worked tirelessly to renew the Church in Germany. Although his efforts ultimately bore great fruit and helped to recenter the faith of the Germans, St. Boniface often felt like a failure in his missionary work.
