Today we look at the concept of a promise from Isaiah 7 when God not only promises King Ahaz that He will protect Israel, but He also gives a sign of His promise. 44 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Et quodcumque ligaveris super terram, erit ligatum et in caelis : et quodcumque solveris super terram, erit solutum et in caelis.St Damasus became Pope in 366, after the persecutions were over. He condemned Arianism, commanded St Jerome to translate the Holy Scriptures into Latin, and composed inscriptions for the sepulchres of the Roman martyrs. He died A.D. 384.

All who follow Christ are urged to be patient, diligent and open. In the meantime, we're called to live and practice the values of God's Kingdom, patience, reverence, hope, service, and all in harmony, avoiding complaining about one another and not getting caught up in factions or rivalries or particular disputes. Today we go back to the book of Isaiah to see why we give to missions through the famous passage of Isaiah 6 when he tells God, "Here I am, send me." Join us as we look at the importance of this chapter and how it changes Isaiah's perspective from focusing on the world to focusing on God seated on the throne. Today we look at the story when Isaiah tells the people not to look to Egypt or some country to save them, but a righteous king. The righteous king and us as His princes rule with nobility. Charity towards our brother is one of the principal precepts of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sic enim persecuti sunt prophetas, qui fuerunt ante vos.We can pay no greater honor to the Saints than by offering up to God in their name the Blood of Jesus. The efficacy of their past merits and present prayers is greatly increased when offered to God in close association with the merits and prayers of our Lord. Therefore the Church commemorates on this day all the Saints in heaven without exception , and thus honors also those who are unknown and who have no public recognition in the Liturgy.
Today we continue our series from Isaiah and take a second week to look at fear. Judah was under threat of attack from Israel and Syria and God spoke to King Ahaz to be careful, be quiet and do not fear. Sometimes we don't realize it, but we are feeding our fear. For many years he labored in Catalonia, for six years in Cuba as Archbishop of Santiago, and finally in Madrid. He died in exile in France in 1870.

But he was silent.Et ait illi : Amice, quomodo huc intrasti non habens vestem nuptialem? At ille obmutavit. 13 Then the king said to the waiters: Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.Tunc dicit rex ministris : Ligatis manibus et pedibus ejus, mittite eum in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi.All men are called to the heavenly beatific union, but few are chosen: those who wear the nuptial robe of baptism and the state of grace.
God tells His people in Isaiah 41 that they are built for the trials that they are enduring so they do not have to fear. Fear tries to cripple all of us. There are so many different things that cause fear, but God tells us why we don't have to fear man, obstacles, or lack. 25 At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to the little ones.In illo tempore respondens Jesus dixit : Confiteor tibi, Pater, Domine caeli et terrae, quia abscondisti haec a sapientibus, et prudentibus, et revelasti ea parvulis. 26 Yea, Father; for so hath it seemed good in thy sight.Ita Pater : quoniam sic fuit placitum ante te. 27 All things are delivered to me by my Father. Jesus appeared to her in numerous visions, displaying to her His Sacred Heart, sometimes burning as a furnace, and sometimes torn and bleeding on account of the coldness and sins of men. In 1675 the great revelation was made to her that she, in union with Father de la Colombiere, SJ, was to be the chief instrument for instituting the Feast of the Sacred Heart and for spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart throughout the world. She died on October 17, A.D. 1690.

As the Reformer of the Carmelites, she re-established the primitive observance of their ancient Rule. On account of her invaluable works on mystical Theology, she may be considered one of the greatest Doctors of the Church. She died A.D. 1582.
Today we continue the series from Isaiah as we see the salvation of the Lord. We see in Isaiah 53 what Jesus does for us and then in chapter 54 we see what we are supposed to do now as we wait.
