This is part 1 of a 7 part series. To watch the whole series go here. There is no institution in history that clearly fulfills the warnings of antichrist found in Daniel, John, Paul and the gospels of Matthew or Luke than the Roman Papacy. This power has a long and sordid history of persecuting God's people, waging war against God's word and blaspheming God on the highest level — all while disguising itself and its actions as the will of God. Today we will shine a bright light on this power so that you are not deceived when it resurrects to be marveled after. This is a public episode. 11 But Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping. Now as she was weeping, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,Maria autem stabat ad monumentum foris, plorans. Dum ergo fleret, inclinavit se, et prospexit in monumentum : 12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid.et vidit duos angelos in albis sedentes, unum ad caput, et unum ad pedes, ubi positum fuerat corpus Jesu. 13 They say to her: Woman, why weepest thou? She saith to them: Because they have taken away my Lord; and I know not where they have laid him.Dicunt ei illi : Mulier, quid ploras? Dicit eis : Quia tulerunt Dominum meum : et nescio ubi posuerunt eum. 14 When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing; and she knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith to her: Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, thinking it was the gardener, saith to him: Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.Dicit ei Jesus : Mulier, quid ploras? quem quaeris? Illa existimans quia hortulanus esset, dicit ei : Domine, si tu sustulisti eum, dicito mihi ubi posuisti eum, et ego eum tollam. 16 Jesus saith to her: Mary. She turning, saith to him: Rabboni (which is to say, Master).Dicit ei Jesus : Maria. Conversa illa, dicit ei : Rabboni ( quod dicitur Magister). 17 Jesus saith to her: Do not touch me, for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren, and say to them: I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.Dicit ei Jesus : Noli me tangere, nondum enim ascendi ad Patrem meum : vade autem ad fratres meos, et dic eis : Ascendo ad Patrem meum, et Patrem vestrum, Deum meum, et Deum vestrum. 18 Mary Magdalen cometh, and telleth the disciples: I have seen the Lord, and these things he said to me.Venit Maria Magdalene annuntians discipulis : Quia vidi Dominum, et haec dixit mihi.
1 Before the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And when supper was done, (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,)Et coena facta, cum diabolus jam misisset in cor ut traderet eum Judas Simonis Iscariotae : 3 Knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and goeth to God;sciens quia omnia dedit ei Pater in manus, et quia a Deo exivit, et ad Deum vadit : 4 He riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments, and having taken a towel, girded himself.surgit a coena, et ponit vestimenta sua, et cum accepisset linteum, praecinxit se. 5 After that, he putteth water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.Deinde mittit aquam in pelvim, et coepit lavare pedes discipulorum, et extergere linteo, quo erat praecinctus. 6 He cometh therefore to Simon Peter. And Peter saith to him: Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered, and said to him: What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.Respondit Jesus, et dixit ei : Quod ego facio, tu nescis modo : scies autem postea. 8 Peter saith to him: Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: If I wash thee not, thou shalt have no part with me.Dicit ei Petrus : Non lavabis mihi pedes in aeternum. Respondit ei Jesus : Si non lavero te, non habebis partem mecum. 9 Simon Peter saith to him: Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him: He that is washed, needeth not but to wash his feet, but is clean wholly. And you are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who he was that would betray him; therefore he said: You are not all clean. 12 Then after he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, being set down again, he said to them: Know you what I have done to you?Postquam ergo lavit pedes eorum, et accepit vestimenta sua : cum recubuisset iterum, dixit eis : Scitis quid fecerim vobis? 13 You call me Master, and Lord; and you say well, for so I am.Vos vocatis me Magister et Domine, et bene dicitis : sum etenim. 14 If then I being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that as I have done to you, so you do also.
22 And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem: and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.Et ambulabat Jesus in templo, in porticu Salomonis. 24 The Jews therefore came round about him, and said to him: How long dost thou hold our souls in suspense? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.Circumdederunt ergo eum Judaei, et dicebant ei : Quousque animam nostram tollis? si tu es Christus, dic nobis palam. 25 Jesus answered them: I speak to you, and you believe not: the works that I do in the name of my Father, they give testimony of me.Respondit eis Jesus : Loquor vobis, et non creditis : opera quae ego facio in nomine Patris mei, haec testimonium perhibent de me : 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.sed vos non creditis, quia non estis ex ovibus meis. 27 My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me.Oves meae vocem meam audiunt, et ego cognosco eas, et sequuntur me : 28 And I give them life everlasting; and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall pluck them out of my hand.et ego vitam aeternam do eis, et non peribunt in aeternum, et non rapiet eas quisquam de manu mea. 29 That which my Father hath given me, is greater than all: and no one can snatch them out of the hand of my Father. 30 I and the Father are one.Ego et Pater unum sumus. 31 The Jews then took up stones to stone him.Sustulerunt ergo lapides Judaei, ut lapidarent eum. 32 Jesus answered them: Many good works I have shewed you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?Respondit eis Jesus : Multa bona opera ostendi vobis ex Patre meo : propter quod eorum opus me lapidatis? 33 The Jews answered him: For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, maketh thyself God.Responderunt ei Judaei : De bono opere non lapidamus te, sed de blasphemia; et quia tu homo cum sis, facis teipsum Deum. 34 Jesus answered them: Is it not written in your law: I said you are gods?Respondit eis Jesus : Nonne scriptum est in lege vestra, Quia ego dixi : Dii estis? 35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God was spoken, and the scripture cannot be broken;Si illos dixit deos, ad quos sermo Dei factus est, et non potest solvi Scriptura : 36 Do you say of him whom the Father hath sanctified and sent into the world: Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?quem Pater sanctificavit, et misit in mundum vos dicitis : Quia blasphemas, quia dixi : Filius Dei sum? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though you will not believe me, believe the works: that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
11 And it came to pass afterwards, that he went into a city that is called Naim; and there went with him his disciples, and a great multitude. 12 And when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow: and a great multitude of the city was with her. 13 Whom when the Lord had seen, being moved with mercy towards her, he said to her: Weep not. 14 And he came near and touched the bier. And they that carried it, stood still. And he said: Young man, I say to thee, arise.Et accessit, et tetigit loculum. ( Hi autem qui portabant, steterunt.) Et ait : Adolescens, tibi dico, surge. 15 And he that was dead, sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. 16 And there came a fear on them all: and they glorified God, saying: A great prophet is risen up among us: and, God hath visited his people.

26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,In mense autem sexto, missus est angelus Gabriel a Deo in civitatem Galilaeae, cui nomen Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.ad virginem desponsatam viro, cui nomen erat Joseph, de domo David : et nomen virginis Maria. 28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.Et ingressus angelus ad eam dixit : Ave gratia plena : Dominus tecum : benedicta tu in mulieribus. 29 Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.Quae cum audisset, turbata est in sermone ejus, et cogitabat qualis esset ista salutatio. 30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.Et ait angelus ei : Ne timeas, Maria : invenisti enim gratiam apud Deum. 31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.Ecce concipies in utero, et paries filium, et vocabis nomen ejus Jesum : 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.hic erit magnus, et Filius Altissimi vocabitur, et dabit illi Dominus Deus sedem David patris ejus : et regnabit in domo Jacob in aeternum, 33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end.et regni ejus non erit finis. 34 And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man? 35 And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.Et respondens angelus dixit ei : Spiritus Sanctus superveniet in te, et virtus Altissimi obumbrabit tibi. Ideoque et quod nascetur ex te sanctum, vocabitur Filius Dei. 36 And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that is called barren:Et ecce Elisabeth cognata tua, et ipsa concepit filium in senectute sua : et hic mensis sextus est illi, quae vocatur sterilis : 37 Because no word shall be impossible with God.quia non erit impossibile apud Deum omne verbum. 38 And Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.Dixit autem Maria : Ecce ancilla Domini : fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum. Et discessit ab illa angelus
31 Then Jesus took unto him the twelve, and said to them: Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be accomplished which were written by the prophets concerning the Son of man.Assumpsit autem Jesus duodecim, et ait illis : Ecce ascendimus Jerosolymam, et consummabuntur omnia quae scripta sunt per prophetas de Filio hominis : 32 For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and scourged, and spit upon:tradetur enim gentibus, et illudetur, et flagellabitur, et conspuetur : 33 And after they have scourged him, they will put him to death; and the third day he shall rise again.et postquam flagellaverint, occident eum, et tertia die resurget. 34 And they understood none of these things, and this word was hid from them, and they understood not the things that were said. 35 Now it came to pass, when he drew nigh to Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the way side, begging. 36 And when he heard the multitude passing by, he asked what this meant. 37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.Dixerunt autem ei quod Jesus Nazarenus transiret. 38 And he cried out, saying: Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.Et clamavit, dicens : Jesu, fili David, miserere mei. 39 And they that went before, rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out much more: Son of David, have mercy on me.Et qui praeibant, increpabant eum ut taceret. Ipse vero multo magis clamabat : Fili David, miserere mei. 40 And Jesus standing, commanded him to be brought unto him. And when he was come near, he asked him,Stans autem Jesus jussit illum adduci ad se. Et cum appropinquasset, interrogavit illum, 41 Saying: What wilt thou that I do to thee? But he said: Lord, that I may see.dicens : Quid tibi vis faciam? At ille dixit : Domine, ut videam. 42 And Jesus said to him: Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole.Et Jesus dixit illi : Respice, fides tua te salvum fecit. 43 And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.Et confestim vidit, et sequebatur illum magnificans Deum.

22 And after the days of her purification, according to the law of Moses, were accomplished, they carried him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord:Et postquam impleti sunt dies purgationis ejus secundum legem Moysi, tulerunt illum in Jerusalem, ut sisterent eum Domino, 23 As it is written in the law of the Lord: Every male opening the womb shall be called holy to the Lord:sicut scriptum est in lege Domini : Quia omne masculinum adaperiens vulvam, sanctum Domino vocabitur : 24 And to offer a sacrifice, according as it is written in the law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons:et ut darent hostiam secundum quod dictum est in lege Domini, par turturum, aut duos pullos columbarum. 25 And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Ghost was in him.Et ecce homo erat in Jerusalem, cui nomen Simeon, et homo iste justus, et timoratus, exspectans consolationem Israel : et Spiritus Sanctus erat in eo. 26 And he had received an answer from the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.Et responsum acceperat a Spiritu Sancto, non visurum se mortem, nisi prius videret Christum Domini. 27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when his parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law,Et venit in spiritu in templum. Et cum inducerent puerum Jesum parentes ejus, ut facerent secundum consuetudinem legis pro eo, 28 He also took him into his arms, and blessed God, and said:et ipse accepit eum in ulnas suas : et benedixit Deum, et dixit : 29 Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word in peace;Nunc dimittis servum tuum Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace : 30 Because my eyes have seen thy salvation, quia viderunt oculi mei salutare tuum, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples:quod parasti ante faciem omnium populorum : 32 A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.lumen ad revelationem gentium, et gloriam plebis tuae Israel.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they going up into Jerusalem, according to the custom of the feast,Et cum factus esset annorum duodecim, ascendentibus illis Jerosolymam secundum consuetudinem diei festi, 43 And having fulfilled the days, when they returned, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem; and his parents knew it not.consummatisque diebus, cum redirent, remansit puer Jesus in Jerusalem, et non cognoverunt parentes ejus. 44 And thinking that he was in the company, they came a day's journey, and sought him among their kinsfolks and acquaintance. 45 And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 And it came to pass, that, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them, and asking them questions.Et factum est, post triduum invenerunt illum in templo sedentem in medio doctorum, audientem illos, et interrogantem eos. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his wisdom and his answers. 48 And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.Et videntes admirati sunt. Et dixit mater ejus ad illum : Fili, quid fecisti nobis sic? ecce pater tuus et ego dolentes quaerebamus te. 49 And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father's business?Et ait ad illos : Quid est quod me quaerebatis? nesciebatis quia in his quae Patris mei sunt, oportet me esse? 50 And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them. 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept all these words in her heart. 52 And Jesus advanced in wisdom, and age, and grace with God and men.Et Jesus proficiebat sapientia, et aetate, et gratia apud Deum et homines.
15 And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us.Et factum est, ut discesserunt ab eis angeli in caelum : pastores loquebantur ad invicem : Transeamus usque Bethlehem, et videamus hoc verbum, quod factum est, quod Dominus ostendit nobis. 16 And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.Et venerunt festinantes : et invenerunt Mariam, et Joseph, et infantem positum in praesepio. 17 And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. 18 And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds.Et omnes qui audierunt, mirati sunt : et de his quae dicta erant a pastoribus ad ipsos. 19 But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart.Maria autem conservabat omnia verba haec, conferens in corde suo. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Let us go with the shepherds the the Infant Jesus; the Lord manifested to these shepherds the incarnation of His Son. Let us go with haste and adore Him in the crib.
19 And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.Hoc autem dixit significans qua morte clarificaturus esset Deum. Et cum hoc dixisset, dicit ei : Sequere me. 20 Peter turning about, saw that disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said: Lord, who is he that shall betray thee?Conversus Petrus vidit illum discipulum, quem diligebat Jesus, sequentem, qui et recubuit in coena super pectus ejus, et dixit : Domine, quis est qui tradet te? 21 Him therefore when Peter had seen, he saith to Jesus: Lord, and what shall this man do?Hunc ergo cum vidisset Petrus, dixit Jesu : Domine, hic autem quid? 22 Jesus saith to him: So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee? follow thou me.Dicit ei Jesus : Sic eum volo manere donec veniam, quid ad te? tu me sequere. 23 This saying therefore went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. And Jesus did not say to him: He should not die; but, So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee? Et non dixit ei Jesus : Non moritur, sed : Sic eum volo manere donec veniam, quid ad te? 24 This is that disciple who giveth testimony of these things, and hath written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.Hic est discipulus ille qui testimonium perhibet de his, et scripsit haec : et scimus quia verum est testimonium ejus St John is the virgin Apostle, crowned with the halo of those who knew how to conquer their flesh; for this reason, he became "the disciple whom Jesus loved." Thanks to his angelic purity, he imbibed that wholesome wisdom of which the Epistle of the Mass speaks and which has given to him the halo of the Doctors. Finally he received the halo of the Martyrs, since he barely escaped a violent death. It is to St John, who wrote a Gospel, three Epistles and the Apocalypse, that we owe the most beautiful pages on the Divinity of the Word made flesh, and it is for this reason that the virgin Apostle is symbolised by the eagle. His name is mentioned with the other Apostles' names in the Canon of the Mass. St John the Evangelist departed his life at Ephesus (101).
1 And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled. 2 This enrolling was first made by Cyrinus, the governor of Syria.Haec descriptio prima facta est a praeside Syriae Cyrino : 3 And all went to be enrolled, every one into his own city.et ibant omnes ut profiterentur singuli in suam civitatem. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David,Ascendit autem et Joseph a Galilaea de civitate Nazareth in Judaeam, in civitatem David, quae vocatur Bethlehem : eo quod esset de domo et familia David, 5 To be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child.ut profiteretur cum Maria desponsata sibi uxore praegnante. 6 And it came to pass, that when they were there, her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock.Et pastores erant in regione eadem vigilantes, et custodientes vigilias noctis super gregem suum. 9 And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear.Et ecce angelus Domini stetit juxta illos, et claritas Dei circumfulsit illos, et timuerunt timore magno. 10 And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:Et dixit illis angelus : Nolite timere : ecce enim evangelizo vobis gaudium magnum, quod erit omni populo : 11 For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David.quia natus est vobis hodie Salvator, qui est Christus Dominus, in civitate David. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying:Et subito facta est cum angelo multitudo militiae caelestis laudantium Deum, et dicentium : 14 Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will.Gloria in altissimis Deo, et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis

At the beginning of the four seasons in the Ecclesiastical Year, the Ember Days have been instituted by the Church to thank God for blessings obtained in the past year and to implore further graces for the new season. Their importance in the Church was formerly very great. They are fixed on the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: after the First Sunday of Lent for Spring, after Whit-sunday for Summer, after the Feast of the Elevation of the Cross (14th September) for Autumn, and after the Third Sunday of Advent for Winter. They are intended also to consecrate to God the various seasons in nature, and to prepare by penance those who are about to be ordained. Ordinations generally take place on the Ember Days. The faithful ought to pray on these days for good Priests. The Ember Days were once fast days of obligation.
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain, and when he was set down, his disciples came unto him.Videns autem Jesus turbas, ascendit in montem, et cum sedisset, accesserunt ad eum discipuli ejus, 2 And opening his mouth, he taught them, saying:et aperiens os suum docebat eos dicens : 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Beati pauperes spiritu : quoniam ipsorum est regnum caelorum. 4 Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.Beati mites : quoniam ipsi possidebunt terram. 5 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.Beati qui lugent : quoniam ipsi consolabuntur. 6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.Beati misericordes : quoniam ipsi misericordiam consequentur. 8 Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.Beati mundo corde : quoniam ipsi Deum videbunt. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.Beati pacifici : quoniam filii Dei vocabuntur. 10 Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:Beati estis cum maledixerint vobis, et persecuti vos fuerint, et dixerint omne malum adversum vos mentientes, propter me : 12 Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. 3:01 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was made nothing that was made: in Him was life, and the life was the Light of men; and the Light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the Light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the Light, but was to give testimony of the Light. That was the true Light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, He gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in His Name, who are born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us: and we saw His glory, the glory as it were of the Only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Et discessit ab illa angelus.
11 And it came to pass, as he was going to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;Et cum ingrederetur quoddam castellum, occurrerunt ei decem viri leprosi, qui steterunt a longe : 13 And lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, master, have mercy on us.et levaverunt vocem, dicentes : Jesu praeceptor, miserere nostri. 14 Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.Quos ut vidit, dixit : Ite, ostendite vos sacerdotibus. Et factum est, dum irent, mundati sunt. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.Unus autem ex illis, ut vidit quia mundatus est, regressus est, cum magna voce magnificans Deum, 16 And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.et cecidit in faciem ante pedes ejus, gratias agens : et hic erat Samaritanus. 17 And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine? 18 There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger. 19 And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.Et ait illi : Surge, vade : quia fides tua te salvum fecit. 15 When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.Cum ergo prandissent, dicit Simoni Petro Jesus : Simon Joannis, diligis me plus his? Dicit ei : Etiam Domine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei : Pasce agnos meos. 16 He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.Dicit ei iterum : Simon Joannis, diligis me? Ait illi : Etiam Domine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei : Pasce agnos meos. 17 He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.Dicit ei tertio : Simon Joannis, amas me? Contristatus est Petrus, quia dixit ei tertio : Amas me? et dixit ei : Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te. Dixit ei : Pasce oves meas. 18 Amen, amen I say to thee, when thou wast younger, thou didst gird thyself, and didst walk where thou wouldst. But when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and lead thee whither thou wouldst not. 19 And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.Hoc autem dixit significans qua morte clarificaturus esset Deum.
57 Now Elizabeth's full time of being delivered was come, and she brought forth a son. 58 And her neighbours and kinsfolks heard that the Lord had shewed his great mercy towards her, and they congratulated with her.Et audierunt vicini et cognati ejus quia magnificavit Dominus misericordiam suam cum illa, et congratulabantur ei. 59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they called him by his father's name Zachary. 60 And his mother answering, said: Not so; but he shall be called John. 61 And they said to her: There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. 62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.Innuebant autem patri ejus, quem vellet vocari eum. 63 And demanding a writing table, he wrote, saying: John is his name. And they all wondered. 64 And immediately his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, blessing God.Apertum est autem illico os ejus, et lingua ejus, et loquebatur benedicens Deum. 65 And fear came upon all their neighbours; and all these things were noised abroad over all the hill country of Judea.Et factus est timor super omnes vicinos eorum : et super omnia montana Judaeae divulgabantur omnia verba haec : 66 And all they that had heard them laid them up in their heart, saying: What an one, think ye, shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.et posuerunt omnes qui audierant in corde suo, dicentes : Quis, putas, puer iste erit? etenim manus Domini erat cum illo. 67 And Zachary his father was filled with the Holy Ghost; and he prophesied, saying:Et Zacharias pater ejus repletus est Spiritu Sancto : et prophetavit, dicens : 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; because he hath visited and wrought the redemption of his people:Benedictus Dominus Deus Israel, quia visitavit, et fecit redemptionem plebis suae :
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he sat teaching, that there were also Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, that were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was to heal them. 18 And behold, men brought in a bed a man, who had the palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the multitude, they went up upon the roof, and let him down through the tiles with his bed into the midst before Jesus. 20 Whose faith when he saw, he said: Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.Quorum fidem ut vidit, dixit : Homo, remittuntur tibi peccata tua. 21 And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22 And when Jesus knew their thoughts, answering, he said to them: What is it you think in your hearts? 23 Which is easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?Quid est facilius dicere : Dimittuntur tibi peccata : an dicere : Surge, et ambula? 24 But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.Ut autem sciatis quia Filius hominis habet potestatem in terra dimittendi peccata, ( ait paralytico) tibi dico, surge, tolle lectum tuum, et vade in domum tuam. 25 And immediately rising up before them, he took up the bed on which he lay; and he went away to his own house, glorifying God.Et confestim consurgens coram illis, tulit lectum in quo jacebat : et abiit in domum suam, magnificans Deum. 26 And all were astonished; and they glorified God. And they were filled with fear, saying: We have seen wonderful things today.

You believe in God, believe also in me.Non turbetur cor vestrum. Creditis in Deum, et in me credite. 2 In my Father's house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you.In domo Patris mei mansiones multae sunt; si quominus dixissem vobis : quia vado parare vobis locum. 3 And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be.Et si abiero, et praeparavero vobis locum, iterum venio, et accipiam vos ad meipsum : ut ubi sum ego, et vos sitis. 4 And whither I go you know, and the way you know.Et quo ego vado scitis, et viam scitis. 5 Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.Dicit ei Jesus : Ego sum via, et veritas, et vita. Nemo venit ad Patrem, nisi per me. 7 If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him. 8 Philip saith to him: Lord, shew us the Father, and it is enough for us.Dicit ei Philippus : Domine, ostende nobis Patrem, et sufficit nobis. 9 Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. How sayest thou, shew us the Father?Dicit ei Jesus : Tanto tempore vobiscum sum, et non cognovistis me? Philippe, qui videt me, videt et Patrem. Quomodo tu dicis : Ostende nobis Patrem? 10 Do you not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. But the Father who abideth in me, he doth the works. Pater autem in me manens, ipse fecit opera. 11 Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?Non creditis quia ego in Patre, et Pater in me est? 12 Otherwise believe for the very works' sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do.alioquin propter opera ipsa credite. 13 Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that the Father may be glorified in the Son.Quia ego ad Patrem vado: et quodcumque petieritis Patrem in nomine meo, hoc faciam : ut glorificetur Pater in Filio. 14 If you shall ask me any thing in my name, that I will do.Si quid petieritis me in nomine meo, hoc faciam. 15 If you love me, keep my commandments.Si diligitis me, mandata mea servate : 16 And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever.et ego rogabo Patrem, et alium Paraclitum dabit vobis, ut maneat vobiscum in aeternum, 17 The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, nor knoweth him: but you shall know him; because he shall abide with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.Non relinquam vos orphanos : veniam ad vos. 19 Yet a little while: and the world seeth me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live.Adhuc modicum, et mundus me jam non videt. Vos autem videtis me : quia ego vivo, et vos vivetis. 20 In that day you shall know, that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.In illo die vos cognoscetis quia ego sum in Patre meo, et vos in me, et ego in vobis. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them; he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22 Judas saith to him, not the Iscariot: Lord, how is it, that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? 23 Jesus answered, and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our abode with him.Respondit Jesus, et dixit ei : Si quis diligit me, sermonem meum servabit, et Pater meus diliget eum, et ad eum veniemus, et mansionem apud eum faciemus; 24 He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words. And the word which you have heard, is not mine; but the Father's who sent me.qui non diligit me, sermones meos non servat. 25 These things have I spoken to you, abiding with you.Haec locutus sum vobis apud vos manens. 26 But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.Paraclitus autem Spiritus Sanctus, quem mittet Pater in nomine meo, ille vos docebit omnia, et suggeret vobis omnia quaecumque dixero vobis. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.Pacem relinquo vobis, pacem meam do vobis : non quomodo mundus dat, ego do vobis. Non turbetur cor vestrum, neque formidet. 28 You have heard that I said to you: I go away, and I come unto you. If you loved me, you would indeed be glad, because I go to the Father: for the Father is greater than I.Audistis quia ego dixi vobis : Vado, et venio ad vos. Si diligeretis me, gauderetis utique, quia vado ad Patrem : quia Pater major me est. 29 And now I have told you before it comes to pass: that when it shall come to pass, you may believe. 30 I will not now speak many things with you. For the prince of this world cometh, and in me he hath not any thing. 31 But that the world may know, that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandment, so do I: Arise, let us go hence. Surgite, eamus hinc.
Let not your heart be troubled. St Philip, like Peter and Andrew, was of Bethsaida. He was crucified in Phyrgia where he preached the Gospel A.D. 87. St James the Less, was of Cana and a kinsman of our Lord. He wrote one of the Epistles of the New Testament. He was thrown from the terrace of the temple A.D. 93.
These things Jesus spoke, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.Haec locutus est Jesus : et sublevatis oculis in caelum, dixit : Pater, venit hora : clarifica Filium tuum, ut Filius tuus clarificet te : 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him.sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam aeternam. 3 Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.Ego te clarificavi super terram : opus consummavi, quod dedisti mihi ut faciam : 5 And now glorify thou me, O Father, with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with thee.et nunc clarifica me tu, Pater, apud temetipsum, claritate quam habui, prius quam mundus esset, apud te. 6 I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the world. Thine they were, and to me thou gavest them; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known, that all things which thou hast given me, are from thee:Nunc cognoverunt quia omnia quae dedisti mihi, abs te sunt : 8 Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.quia verba quae dedisti mihi, dedi eis : et ipsi acceperunt, et cognoverunt vere quia a te exivi, et crediderunt quia tu me misisti. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me: because they are thine:Ego pro eis rogo; non pro mundo rogo, sed pro his quos dedisti mihi : quia tui sunt : 10 And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.et mea omnia tua sunt, et tua mea sunt : et clarificatus sum in eis. 11 And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are.Et jam non sum in mundo, et hi in mundo sunt, et ego ad te venio. Pater sancte, serva eos in nomine tuo, quos dedisti mihi : ut sint unum, sicut et nos.

And it came to pass afterwards, that he went into a city that is called Naim; and there went with him his disciples, and a great multitude. St Monica first converted her pagan husband, and then, by her tears and unceasing prayers, her son St Augustine, who is regarded as one of the greatest Doctors of the Western Church. And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,In mense autem sexto, missus est angelus Gabriel a Deo in civitatem Galilaeae, cui nomen Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.ad virginem desponsatam viro, cui nomen erat Joseph, de domo David : et nomen virginis Maria. Et discessit ab illa angelus.
But Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping.
Before the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

Folks, we're back at it. Last week, we refreshed our memories about the Pope's climate encyclical Laudato Si and how it connected with things like degrowth and dependency theory. But this week, we're back with some breaking news. The Vatican has released Francis' most recent apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum, and we will talk through it.Last time, we pulled out some of Francis' thoughts around dependency and the economy, and in this Laudate Deum, he's back with a lot of similar themes, but this time, he's way more cranky about it all––which makes sense given that Laudato Si came out eight years ago and things have only gotten worse. So, in this episode, we will talk through Laudate Deum and see what's changed and what's stayed the same in those eight years.
